What we explore in this episode:
How to think about deities as archetypes or energy rather than rigid figures
Insights from Bewitching the Elements on the divine feminine spirit
A step-by-step guide to a nine-card elemental spread
An invitation to explore your own spiritual connection through tarot
In this episode, I’m sharing my reflections on tarot and deities: how we might invite the divine into our tarot practice and connect with different aspects of spirit through the elements.
When we choose to work with a specific goddess, we’re seeing spirit distilled into a certain archetype. Venus might represent love, Kali transformation, and Hekate for thresholds and magic. These archetypes can be powerful guides during different phases of our lives.
Tarot becomes a bridge to these divine energies. It offers a mirror, reflecting where we’re being called to grow, shift, and soften. The cards can guide us deeper into our connection with spirit, whether we frame that as the goddess, the universe, or simply our higher self.
Elemental Tarot Spread:
This spread connects you to the elements — Spirit, Earth, Air, Fire, and Water — and helps you explore where you’re being supported, where you can grow, and what wisdom to carry forward.
How to prepare:
Find a quiet, comfortable space.
Center yourself with a few deep breaths.
Shuffle your deck while thinking about connecting to the elements and your inner guidance.
1.Where am I being asked to witness the abundance and miracles in my life right now?
2.What are my emotions trying to tell me?
3. What is keeping me fueled and passionate?
4. Where am I supported and safe?
5. Where am I able to be my fullest self and be present?
6. Where am I living in alignment?
7. Where am I being called to live more in alignment?
8.What element can I call in to find more balance?
9. What wisdom should I carry with me moving forward?
Tarot Spread
1: I pulled the Two of Pentacles reversed. This reminded me to recognize the multiple paths to abundance and not get stuck trying to balance or control it all.
2:Temperance appeared upright, inviting me to find balance and not stretch myself too thin. A gentle call to go with the flow.
3:The Ten of Wands reversed suggested that my fire is being fueled by overcommitment and the weight of too many responsibilities, and that I need to avoid burning out.
4: The Hierophant told me to lean into structures that already work for me rather than constantly reinventing the wheel.
5:The Five of Swords reversed encouraged me to embrace open, honest communication, even when it means navigating conflict.
6: The Four of Wands reversed showed me where I’m struggling with stability and connection, nudging me to seek community and shared joy.
7: The Strength card, reversed, pointed to self-doubt and the need for inner courage and compassion.
8: The Six of Cups reversed called me to release nostalgia and unrealistic expectations, and to focus on presence and emotional growth.
9: The Ace of Cups reversed reminded me to open my heart, express my emotions, and embrace new beginnings with vulnerability.
