Two of Swords
Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.
What we explore in this episode:
What the Two of Swords teaches about indecision, inner balance, and intuitive clarity
Symbolism across decks: blindfolds, crescent moon, pillars, swords crossed over the heart
How this card speaks to the discomfort of being “in-between” life stages, choices, or truths
The tension between logic and emotion, and what it means to choose alignment over avoidance
The role of inner peace and presence when no obvious path is clear
Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:
Therapists Who Tarot Deck, Prompts by Dreya Blume and Images by Rebecca Bloom
The Goddess of Love Tarot Deck: A Book and Deck for Embodying The Erotic Divine Feminine by Gabriela Herstik and illustrated by Julia Popescu
In this episode, we explore the Two of Swords as a card that sits at the edge of clarity. It invites us to look at where we’re holding back from choice, not because we don’t know, but because we’re afraid of what choosing might require of us. The blindfold reminds us to trust our intuition when the facts are unclear, and the crossed swords show how we sometimes guard our hearts to delay the inevitable.
We also explore how indecision can be a comfort zone, and how giving yourself permission to “not know yet” can be a sacred act of self-care, but staying there forever? That’s when stagnation can start to creep in.

Today's Tarot Pull:
From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Scholar in reverse. This card speaks to the futility of overthinking and over-researching when the answer just isn’t there right now. You may be trying to “logic” your way through a situation that requires pause, reflection, or emotional presence instead. Sometimes, it’s not about trying harder, it’s about shifting your energy elsewhere.Reflective prompts on this card:
Where are you stuck in indecision because you’re afraid of what the truth might mean?
How is overanalyzing distracting you from tuning in to what your body or heart already knows?
What would it look like to take a pause, not out of avoidance, but to honor your inner knowing?
