Relationships are very much like getting a puppy there are things that you need to be ready for. In initial recovery there is no hurry to rush into a relationship and if your in a relationship and new to recovery there are some things that you will need to work on, just like when you get a puppy.
There are strong correlations between trauma and addiction. Often when we think about trauma we generally think about veterans or others that have witnessed or experienced horrifying things. But trauma can come from anywhere and it affects all people across the world.
