Why do women have to work so hard?
Seasonal depression is a thing, and glamming it up to just leave the house this time of year ain’t happenin’. In this episode, Danielle Murr and Cheryl Fenton wonder why there’s such a strong dichotomy of effort levels to achieve what society considers “hot” for men and women. Everything we have to aspire to requires work, as dad bods and Hollywood’s obsession with “rodent” boys (The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White, Saltburn’s Barry Keoghan and Dune’s Timothée Chalamet, to name a few) are more easily attained than the exhaustive steps needed for a “hot girl summer.” Can’t we be applauded for a Meno Belly Moment? And gone are the days of Saint Ives Apricot Scrub, Seabreeze Toner, and Noxzema – our skin care has leveled up as our skin issues have.
