Seth Shostak is an accomplished astronomer and science communicator who has made significant contributions to the field of search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI). As the Senior Astronomer at the SETI Institute, Shostak has been actively involved in SETI research for more than three decades. He has played a leading role in numerous SETI projects, including the development of new technologies and techniques for searching for signals from extraterrestrial civilizations.
In addition to his research, Shostak is also a prolific science communicator who has written extensively on SETI and other scientific topics. He has authored several books, including "Confessions of an Alien Hunter: A Scientist's Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence" and "Life in the Universe: Expectations and Constraints." Shostak has also written numerous articles on SETI and has been a regular contributor to magazines such as Scientific American.
As a science communicator, Shostak has appeared as a guest on numerous television and radio programs, including "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," "The Colbert Report," and "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."
