Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome to this episode of Evolved Mastery.
I'm your host, princeton Clark.
I'm gonna welcome you guys backto another amazing episode
where we're gonna be diving intothe topic of the power of
gratitude.
That's right, the power ofgratitude, the thing that we
hear so many people talkingabout, but yet it seems to elude
the majority.

(00:22):
Gratitude is so important toour journey because, in order
for us to truly be present inevery single moment, we have to
learn how to truly be gratefuland open to every single moment,
understanding that every momentis a gift.
So in today's episode, we'regonna dive into how to honor the

(00:43):
gifts of each moment, utilizingthe power of gratitude.
Rhonda Byrne, in her book theMagic, talks about gratitude
being the magic of life and youknow, this is something that I
learned early in my journey, because in the beginning, when
things first started changingfor me you know, if you guys
have followed my podcast, youknow my life, you know the

(01:04):
things that I have experienced.
I won't regurgitate it here, you know, but in order for me to
make a lot of the changes thatI made in the beginning of my
life, it started with me reallyunderstanding the importance of
every single moment, because formost of my life.
I had wasted my moments, I hadplayed the victim, I had set

(01:25):
back, waiting and hoping thingswere gonna change, people were
gonna show up, doors were gonnaopen, people were gonna
understand, so on and so forth, not realizing that every moment
that I let pass was a momentthat I would never get back.
Every moment that I let passwould be another moment in which
I lost the opportunity tocreate something new.
In that moment, every breaththat we breathe is a gift, and

(01:48):
this is something that I deeplyrealized after my failed suicide
attempt in 2003, because fromthat moment I knew you know,
after trying to make thatdecision to end my life, when
that gun misfired next to mytemple, it changed my life, it
changed the way that I sawmyself, it changed the way that

(02:08):
I saw my story.
In that moment, my storychanged because, whether or not
I was fully connected or evenfully aware of the fact that
something greater than me callit spirit and universe, god,
source, whatever pronoun youwanna use something beyond what
my finite mind could understand, had stepped in and said not now

(02:31):
, not now.
And even as I think about thatright now, I get emotional
because there are so manymoments in our lives where that
now moment could have been thelast moment, but, for whatever
reason, we are still here.
There are so many moments inour lives when we look back that

(02:51):
we know that every moment thatfollowed a particular moment has
been a gift.
Those moments of depressionwhere you were considering
ending and all but something inyou wouldn't allow it.
That moment where you barelymissed a car accident, that
moment where you got sick andyou thought that was gonna be it

(03:12):
, whatever it is.
There are so many moments thathappen in so many of our lives
that are pivotal moments.
But what I want you guys tothink about today, but I want
you guys to think about today isthe fact that, whether
something crazy has happenedthat you've avoided or not, it's
a miracle that we wake up everysingle day and we continue to

(03:33):
breathe and experience thisexistence that we call life.
It's a miracle that we get towake up and we get to create, if
we so choose, another life.
You are always one decisionaway from change, but change for
so many never comes becausethey're never grateful, they're
never present, they're neverhonoring the moment.

(03:54):
So, moment after moment's pass, and before you know it, we're
older, more mature, looking backon life with regrets, all the
things that we shoulda, couldaand would've done.
But I challenge you, guys, today, don't let that be your
life.
Don't get to the point in yourlife where you're looking back

(04:14):
wishing that you could've donesomething different, because at
some point for all of us it'sgonna be over.
There's gonna come a time wherethis life is gonna cease to be,
and I don't mean to make thisconversation morbid, it's a fact
.
It's a fact, guys.
We sit back and we focus andcare and worry on things that

(04:35):
add no value to the moments ofour lives.
My friend, christopher Rausch, often says it's all about the
moments.
It's all about the moments andwe must learn to pause in these
moments and say thank you.
These moments are not promisedto us.
They are gracefully given to usand we get to choose what we do

(04:59):
with each moment.
We get to choose how we show up, what we create or not.
But I want to dive into thistopic today because it's been
something that's really been onmy mind lately.
Looking at the state of theworld, everybody is so
externally focused on thingsthat they can't control, and yet
they are given lives everysingle day that they can control

(05:21):
, but they refuse to control, they refuse to take their power,
they refuse to take everychance and choice that they are
given, in every breath, tocreate something new.
And we have to begin to askourselves why is this?
Why is it that we are givenmoment after moment after moment
, and we waste our moments, ultimately wasting our lives,

(05:46):
wasting the experiences that wecould have and could create,
wasting the opportunities formanifesting something new?
Why do we do that?
It's because we've beenprogrammed to only focus on the
past or tomorrow, the future, and so much of our lives is
consumed by one of those two, ifnot both, depending on what

(06:08):
we're experiencing in our lives.
But how often are we trulypresent?
How often are we truly givingourselves permission to be in
gratitude?
Gratitude, for me, was a verytransformative experience,
because it challenged me to lookat how I chose to show up in my
life.
It challenged me to look atthat one fate filled moment

(06:29):
where I could have been gone, but yet I was still here.
And it led me to ask some verydeep questions, questions that I
would have never thought to askbefore, questions like how do
you want to be remembered?
If you were to go today?
What would your kids rememberyou from?
What experiences would theyhave of you that they would
carry on with them?
Do you really want that to bethe last memory?

(06:50):
What are you creating in theworld that will never be
forgotten?
What are you adding to theexperience of your life that
will outlive you?
Then and on and on, thequestions kept coming, and even
as I'm thinking about it, as I'mspeaking about it right now, I
can't help but be emotional, because these are questions, as
simple as they may seem, that alot of people never ask

(07:12):
themselves.
A lot of people are so focusedon what they don't have and
what's not working and what theywant and all these things, that
they never just stop and askthe deeper questions.
Often, I'm asked how did yougrow so fast?
How did you go from being whereyou were to being where you are
now, being positive after beingand living such a negative life

(07:34):
?
And the truth is it was a lotof work.
It was a lot of workreprogramming myself.
It was a lot of workreprogramming my thoughts, in
the way that I saw the world, the way that my experiences had
told me the world was, because,in truth, the world is just what
the world is, but nothing isanything until I give it a
meaning.
And I realized that I had giventhe world and different

(07:56):
experiences so many differentmeanings that those meanings had
impacted me at such a deepmental level and emotional level
that I carried the energy ofthose meanings with me
everywhere I went and thosethings affected my perspective
of the world, my perspective ofrelationships, my perspective of
my potential, my perspective ofmy purpose, my perspective of
so many different things.

(08:17):
But when I finally learned thepractice of gratitude and the
power of gratitude, little bylittle, I had to put that work
in every single day.
I would start my days and Iwouldn't do anything without
saying thank you.
Sometimes, in all honesty, Ididn't know what I was saying
thank you for.
I was just saying thank youbecause it was another day that

(08:38):
I had never seen before, a daythat, once it was over, I would
never get to experience again.
And I promised myself that Iwould never waste another moment
, because every moment was agift.
Somebody didn't wake up toexperience another moment, just
as today, thousands, hundreds ofthousands of people have left

(09:00):
this existence.
Yesterday they had so manyplans, they had so many ideas,
so many concerns, and todaythey're not here.
Think about that.
We think that we are going tolive to see a ripe old age and
prayerfully I hope that is thecase for everyone listening to

(09:21):
this podcast.
But truthfully it's notTruthfully.
Tomorrow, the next moment, thenext breath is not promised If
we are lucky and blessed andgifted enough to experience
tomorrow.
Let it be that we show upgrateful, not complaining, not
focused on yesterday or themoments that haven't even been

(09:42):
created yet.
Let it be that we wake up andsay thank you for the honor of
this breath, this day, this nowmoment.
Guide me and show me what's forme today.
Give me peace today.
Show me, teach me, guide me,how to have more joy today.

(10:05):
Give me eyes to see more lovein my life today.
Give me eyes to be more hopefulin my life today.
Give me the power and awarenessof power to create a life
that's driven by purpose, tocreate something and to give
birth to something from withinme that the world has yet to see
.
Yet.

(10:25):
Pause when you start your dayand throughout the day, pause.
My friend Lolita says there'spower in the pause, but so many
times we don't pause.
We're constantly go, go, go, gogo.
From one thing to the next.
One worry to the next fear, onedoubt to the next concern, one

(10:46):
business deal to the nextbusiness deal, one level of
financial goal created andmanifested onto the next
financial goal.
But how often do we actuallypause?
I'm going to challenge youright now, as you're listening
to this podcast Pause in thismoment and just say thank you.
Just say thank you, thank youfor all the past moments, thank

(11:13):
you for all the experiences thathave guided you to this point,
without labeling them as apositive or negative.
They were just experiences.
Experiences that you had thepower to navigate through and
you are still here.
Experiences that brought youwisdom, experiences that led you

(11:36):
into the path of other people.
So many different experiences, but now you're here.
Now you have this moment.
If we can just learn to be moregrateful in every single moment,
if we can learn to harness thepower of gratitude, if we change

(11:57):
the way we see things, thethings we see will change.
I will continue to repeat thatwe have to start with gratitude,
because if I can be gratefulfor every experience,
understanding that everyexperience is just that, an
experience that I get to chooseto define, that I get to choose
to grow from or fail from that.
I get to choose to rise from ordecline from.
Every experience is just anexperience that I get to make,

(12:19):
whatever I choose to make it.
But when we learn the power ofgratitude, we can simply say
thank you.
If we must cry the tears, feelthe emotion and let it go in the
moment, process it through themoment, but find a way to say
thank you because you're stillhere, you're still able to make

(12:41):
a different decision.
You're still able to create anew experience.
You're still able to loveyourself in a new way.
You're still able to build anew foundation.
You're still able to havedifferent experiences if you so
choose.
And what I decided to do yearsago was make a positive choice.
I knew that I had created themess of a life that I had
created because I wasn'tgrateful.
I was always complaining orfocusing on things that made me

(13:04):
depressed or frustrated or angry, constantly blaming people,
constantly holding on tounforgiveness, constantly living
in fear, and I knew that thatdidn't work for me.
So I had to start beinggrateful for each moment and I
had to start asking myself whatis the most powerful thing that
I can do right now, in the midstof the challenges that I am
facing?
What is one way that I can lovemyself in this gratitude today?

(13:27):
What is one thing that I can dotoday to show those that I love
, those that are closest to me,that I am grateful for them?
What is one thing that I can doto honor the vision that I've
been given for my life?
What is one new thing that Ican learn to show my mind that I
am so grateful for the powerthat it gives me to create my

(13:49):
soul, for the power that itgives me to step fully into
manifesting the things that Idesire.
That's one thing that I can dobecause I'm grateful.
So many people live their livesand they never do this and
understand this in the beginning.
When you first start doing itand you first start cultivating
this practice of gratitude, it'snot going to be as easy as we

(14:12):
hope it to be.
There are going to be momentswhere you wake up and something
happens and it throws youcompletely off of the last side
of the bed and you're stuckthere for like an hour.
There's going to be some daysyou wake up and everything just
flows fluidly.
But honor the moments the moreyou do that, the more consistent

(14:34):
it becomes, the more thingsbegin to change, the more you
get to see new experiences andcreate new experiences.
But, as I always say, it startswith you.
What are you willing to do tocreate a more powerful life?
What are you willing to do tocreate the life that you truly

(14:58):
desire?
What are you willing to do inthis moment if you can just be
grateful for it?
Imagine that, as you'renavigating through your life,
there is an infinite number ofpossibilities in front of you,
and each one of thosepossibilities creates a
different reality for you.
For some people, they stay onthe same flow of possibility, or

(15:20):
lack thereof, their entirelives.
But imagine that there is noblueprint.
You are creating one as you go.
You are the original blueprint.
There will never be another youthat can do things the way that
you do.
There will never be another youthat can create the life that
you have the potential to create.
There will never be another yougiven the moments that you were
given to learn from and growfrom, so that you can use them

(15:44):
as fuel to change your life andto create a light in the world,
so that other people can seethat it's possible.
You are a powerful creator.
You are a powerful life, experiencing life on many
different levels.
But until you learn to begrateful, you'll never truly
understand just how powerful youare.

(16:06):
Allowing yourself to slow downand be grateful keeps you in a
state of mindfulness.
I love the power of gratitudebecause when I allow myself to
pause and breathe and just thinkthrough the moment, become
aware of the moment, becomeaware of what's in front of me,
become aware of the choices, become aware of infinite
possibilities in the moment, Irealize just how powerful I am.

(16:34):
I realize that I am not limited.
I realize that whatever I havea desire to do, whatever I have
a vision to see, it's completelypossible if I'm willing to
fully step into it.
And the more we become grateful, the more we begin using this

(16:55):
power.
The more we start seeing morepositive effects in our lives,
the more our mindset begins toexpand in a higher state of
awareness so that we can seewider and farther.
Imagine that as we show moregratitude and we become more
aware, it's like going into abuilding that has no limit to

(17:16):
how high it can go, and we getinto an elevator and we begin to
go up.
As we go up, we get to get outon different floors.
These different floors havedifferent experiences, but on
every level there's a windowfacing one side of that building
that when we come out of theelevator, we can see.
Out of that window.
The higher we go, the fartherwe can see, the wider we can see

(17:39):
.
This is awareness.
This is what happens the morewe begin to be more present in
our lives.
This is what happens when weallow ourselves to be more
grateful, we allow ourselves tosee the value of each moment, we
allow ourselves to see the truepossibility of our gifts and
our visions.
In each moment, the visions, those gifts, the awareness of it
all expands and goes farther, and this is why so many people

(18:03):
are short-sighted.
They can only see right infront of them, and it's okay if
that's where you are right now.
It's just an opportunity to bemore grateful.
You are being presented with anopportunity to be present, an
opportunity to give yourselfpermission to pause, an
opportunity to become aware ofhow you have shown up and how
you get to show up.
In this moment, there is somuch power and gratitude, and so

(18:26):
I challenge you give yourselfpermission to start applying
this power.
Give yourself permission tostart waking up and just saying
thank you.
Start waking up and writingdown all the things that you are
grateful that you get toexperience.
Start waking up and writingdown all of the ideas that you
would like to give birth to and, throughout the day, giving

(18:47):
yourself place and peace topause and just say thank you.
Go outside, look at the sky, look at the trees.
We get to experience this life, people.
We get to choose whether we'regoing to be grateful or
miserable.
The power is in your hands.
What you do with it is up toyou.
So I challenge you love yourselfenough to honor your moments.

(19:11):
Love yourself enough to begrateful in these moments.
Love yourself enough to giveyourself permission to be
peaceful and to pause and toreally consider just how special
you are.
Nobody on this planet is morespecial than you.
I don't care what people say, what people do.
There will never be another you.

(19:32):
So be grateful for you.
Be grateful for thisopportunity to simply have a
moment.
That's your moment, and decidenow what this moment will mean
for you.
Will it mean change and growand expansion and opportunity,
financial increase, or will itmean misery, depression, anger,
frustration?

(19:52):
What are you giving meaning to,in this moment, find a reason
to be grateful and if the onlyreason you can find in the
moment is that you're still herebecause in this moment and in
every moment someone is ceasingto be here and you still are

(20:13):
Meditate on this today.
I hope that it spoke to yourspirit, spoke to your heart and
your mind, because I know thatit's been speaking to mind
lately and I'm so grateful formy life, but I love that life
continuously reminds me of justhow powerful gratitude is, and I
know that I wouldn't be where Iam, who I am creating, what I

(20:34):
am today, if it weren't for thepower of gratitude.
Thank you, guys, for tuning intothis episode of Evolved Mastery

your heart, speak to your mind, speak to your moments, because

to breathe it in and honor it.
