This episode is a message that Tim gave on February 23, 2025 at Gateway Foursquare Church in Campbell River BC.

To live as a follower of Christ, is to live a life of faith. It is impossible to have a relationship with God without faith as it is written “without faith it is impossible to please God…”

The interesting thing about faith, is that it is not something that can be produced by human means. It is always described biblically ...

In Luke chapter 14, Jesus was invited to dine with some Pharisees on the Sabbath, during which he taught them and told parables… Jesus made some challenging comments to them as he confronted head-on some of their misplaced religious confidence and exposed their self-righteousness.

In this setting Jesus tells the para...

This episode brings us to the conclusion of this series on the Church, looking specifically at one final aspect of the authority of believers.

Authority is the right (or authorization) to do something - to carry out a certain action, or make a decision. In the last few episodes, Tim presented three types of authority that apply to Christians: common authority, gift-based authority, and positional authority.

Jesus has delegated authority to the Church. In Matthew’s gospel, Jesus tells Peter “…you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven…” (Matthew 16:18-19).

In the last episode we began the discussion ...

As this series comes to a close, there is one final aspect of the Church to look into - that is the authority of the Church.

There are several passages of scripture that indicate that Jesus has delegated his authority to the Church. The questions that arise from this are: What is the nature of this authority? How is it expressed? And, what are it’s limitations?

Tune in as we explore the topic of the authority of...

In this episode Tim continues the study on The Church, looking at how the bible defines “Church,” and understanding its marks and characteristics.

As discussed in the first episode the Church in one sense, is the community of all genuine believers for all of time (including the genuine believers of the Old Testament, now enrolled in heaven. See Hebrews 12:22,23).

There seems to be another way that the term “churc...
