If we want to have an impact on our kids’ education and learning, whether that’s to tweak and support or to revolutionise their environment, we must also examine our own experiences (read: prejudices), when we were young.

What was our experience of learning?
How do we feel about it now, on reflection?
Were there memorable moments of either thrive or survive?
Were there experiences that have now meaningfully contributed to certain belief systems, habits & ideas, maybe enhancing or hindering modern day you?

the weight of openly comparing students against each other at impressionable developmental ages;
having a system whereby there is certainty in the structure of following rules versus finding opportunities to developing courage & authenticity through creativity & curiosity.

Straighten your uniform, sit up straight and listen closely as Jodi and Quinn reminisce and muse on days gone by; noting that certain mindsets & programs created during their schooling (i.e. am I good enough, am I smart enough) can create the inner critic which has stayed with them well into their adulthood.
