Tom succeeds in tracking down the unicorn and earning its trust, but he realizes that he's too late. There's no way he can reach Beatrice and the dragons in time. Just as he despairs, the unicorn's horn begins to glow, and then flashes a blinding light. Afterwards everything has changed. Tom is in the land of the fairies.
