Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, what's up?
Thank you so much for joiningme again on another episode of
Faith and Failure.
So this episode is going to bea little more relaxed.
I may put the scriptures as Icite them on your screen.
I'm not going to do the normalwhere I share my screen with you
.
For those of you who follow me,first of all, thank you for I
(00:23):
think we passed 11,000subscribers on YouTube and a few
more thousand across the socialmedia platforms.
Thank you so much for followingalong and being faithful.
I have in recent, the lastcouple months, I've been
extremely busy at work, so Ihave reduced my stress level.
I have cause.
I don't make money doing thepodcast, but I do value the fact
(00:47):
that you show up and you listen, and most of you were, week
after week, um, responding, liking, sharing, and I really I
do appreciate that.
But, um, I have a family tosupport so I have to work and I
do a couple of full-time jobs.
So the thing that falls to thewayside or on the back burner is
(01:09):
the thing that doesn't pay ordoesn't pay as much.
So just want to let you know Ireally do appreciate you being
here, but on the first Monday ofevery month.
So, as the uh, as this onecomes out, it will be the 7th,
not the first day, but the firstMonday of every month.
(01:29):
So that may fall a littledifferent.
You know it won't be always onthe first part of the week, but
just to let you know that's howthings are falling right now.
But I do want to put valuablecontent out.
I want to put valuable contentout, I want to put encouraging
words out, I want to get all upin your business and I want you
(01:51):
to understand that convictionfrom the Lord is not something
to be devalued or overlooked, and what I mean by that is this
God cares enough for you to notlet you sit and consume, but to
challenge you to contribute, andone of those things that we
(02:12):
often overlook.
It's not necessarily a physicallike giving them my money, but
the way that we pray willoftentimes shape the outcome of
someone's situation, oursituation, our season.
Like, I believe God allows, godlets bad things happen.
(02:34):
I think now the Bible clearlysays God does not tempt, but I
believe that God does allow badthings to happen.
You're like well, how can agood God allow bad things to
happen?
Why would he?
Why would he do this.
Why would he be absent fromthis situation?
If he really cared and lovedand he's supposed to be loved
(02:56):
why doesn't he show up?
The same reason, if you've everhad children, that you allow
them after you tell them no, youtry to stop them.
You allow them to fall.
You allow them to scrape theirknee.
You allow them after you tellthem no, you try to stop them.
You allow them to fall.
You allow them to scrape theirknee.
You allow them to burn theirhand.
You allow them to mess up whenthey get a little older.
I got a actually today, ofrecording this on the 4th.
I have a 17 month old in thehouse and a 16 year old in the
(03:23):
house.
Pray for me.
But, that being said, there'skind of different lessons that
you have to teach them in thesetwo drastically different times
of life.
But also, at the same time, alot of it overlaps, like as my
17 month old does things andshe's trying to figure out her
(03:43):
facial expressions, she'll makeall kinds of funny stuff, she'll
go, she'll just like, wow, everything is cool.
And my teenager?
He's learning to drive, he'sgetting his driver's license,
he's looking for a job, like allthese things that come with
going into adulthood, but I'mletting him make mistakes.
It's one of the hardest things,as my child gets older, for me
(04:07):
to actually allow him to makethose mistakes, because I want
to grab him by the neck and saywhy don't you just listen to me?
But I don't enable him to havebad behavior, but I do allow him
to make uh, wrong decisions.
If he forgets something andsome people may disagree with me
(04:29):
on this, but if he forgetssomething, I don't run to school
and give him stuff Like Isometimes.
Sometimes I do, sometimes mywife does, or we can, we.
She stays at home full time, soit's possible, sometimes it can
happen, but a lot of times Ilet him suffer for a short
(04:51):
period of time.
He forgets something or heforgot this, he forgot that.
I let him receive the outcomethat he has earned by making a
bad decision, by forgetting.
That's how he will remember toremember, or that's how he will
next time sidestep a decisionand make a better decision.
This is called maturing.
(05:12):
Some of us adults need to geton that wagon.
So I want to read a scriptureand I want to talk a little bit
about something that as we grow,as we mature I just mentioned
my 17-month-old and my16-year-old Something I've
noticed with my son being theone growing up and he's a
(05:34):
teenager now as he gets older,so his prayers mature.
Does that make sense?
So, for instance, when on aSunday morning the worship team
at 10.20, which we start at10.30 at church we go and we go
(05:55):
into the kitchen and we praybefore every service, we get in
a circle, we hold hands, about10 of us, and we pray, and what
I do as the pastor is I willrandomly select, with no heads
up at all, people to pray.
Sometimes I will do it myselfor I'll pick, like the same
(06:20):
person, somebody who I know ismore mature and can really pray
for the service and get thejuices flowing and get our
mindset right.
And then sometimes I willrandomly pick a person who has
never done it before.
And it's not because I'm tryingto make them feel awkward or
like put them in anuncomfortable situation, but
oftentimes it's not until we getout of our comfort zone that we
(06:41):
actually begin to producemature fruit, good fruit that
not only we can partake of butother people can partake of.
So, if you will, let's readthis scripture If you have your
Bible, since I may not put it onthe screen, depending on how
much time I have, I probablywon't.
I'm just letting you know.
But Joshua, chapter 10.
Now here it says this, verse 12through 14.
(07:06):
We see one of the most, in mypersonal opinion, one of the
most daring prayers prayed inthe Bible and this is right here
by Joshua, starting at verse 12.
On the day the Lord gave theIsraelites victory over the
Amorites, joshua.
So it starts it off by sayingon the day they got the victory.
(07:34):
Here's why Joshua prayed to theLord in front of all the people
of Israel.
He said stand still over Gibeonand the moon over the valley of
Elijam, ejelum, jelun.
All these names are availablefor your future babies.
So the sun stood still and themoon stayed in place until the
(07:57):
nation of Israel had defeatedits enemies.
Is this not recorded in thebook of Jassar?
The sun stayed in the middle ofthe sky and it did not set as
on a normal day.
The sun stayed in the middle ofthe sky and it did not set as a
normal day.
(08:17):
There has never been a day likethis one before or since.
There has never been a day likethis before or since when the
Lord answered such a prayer.
Surely the Lord fought forIsrael that day.
Have you ever prayed a prayerthat was dangerous?
(08:58):
Before we get into the video, you can also find a paypal link
below if you want to give aone-time or give a monthly to
support the channel.
Anything, great or small, isappreciated.
Now let's get into the video.
Welcome back, like we just said, please, uh, hit that like
(09:19):
button and subscribe if youwatch on youtube.
Also, if you watch anything onrumble, if you know what that is
.
It's another platform.
I actually, immediately onRumble, can make money from ads
and things like that on YouTube.
I just can't reach the numbers.
So if you want to support orany link down in the description
, you click that, you'll see ontop of it.
(09:42):
Stephen Tillman gets a portionof that and no extra cost to you
, just another way.
Or you can donate by clickingas the video said.
Now, joshua's request was whatwe would call audacious, but God
answered in an unprecedentedway.
(10:03):
This event is a vivid reminderthat there is power in praying,
dangerously, trusting that Godcan do more than we can actually
even imagine.
Now I like to go, especiallywhen I'm preaching, in a lot of
these episodes, either pull fromyour questions, which, by the
way, if you ever have a question, please comment down below and
(10:34):
I will make one specifically onyour request, or you can email
faithandfailures at gmail.
I check that sometimes.
So why should we praydangerously?
I like to have points, I liketo split this stuff up so that
you can take it in smaller bites.
So if you have pen and paper or, like on my desk over there,
post-it notes whatever you haveavailable write this down.
Maybe you're watching yourphone?
Pause it for a second, go intoyour notes, make a note.
(10:57):
But this is why we should praydangerously, because it
transforms lives by us livingout the gospel.
So let's see what this saysRomans, chapter 12, 1 and 2.
And so, dear brothers andsisters, I plead with you to
give your bodies to God becauseof all he has done for you.
(11:20):
Let them be a living and holySacrifice.
Don't copy the behaviors andcustoms of this world, but let
God transform you Into a newperson by changing the way you
think.
Then you will learn To knowGod's will for you, which is
(11:41):
good and pleasing and perfect.
So why should we praydangerously?
It transforms our lives andchanges the way we live.
We are literally living thegospel of Jesus Christ by living
for God.
(12:02):
See, I call it an epidemicbecause I really think that it
is especially.
I can't.
I can't say for the rest of theworld, I can't say for the rest
of the nation, I can't say forany other state or any other
part of the state, but here inEast Texas and I have a feeling
because it's human nature, it'sthe same in almost every other
place is that there are peoplethat call themselves Christians
(12:25):
but their mouths sound just likethe world, their attitudes act
out just like the world, theirresponses are like the world's.
There are no peacemakers, butonly prideful saints that you
(12:47):
can't tell to correct anything.
And here's my frustration withthat.
If you can't allow anotherbrother or sister to tell you
the truth when you're not actingright, or you won't even adhere
, let's go even deeper if youwon't even adhere to what
scriptures say of how we'resupposed to speak, how we're
(13:08):
supposed to think, how we'resupposed to live our lives daily
, here in East Texas we have anepidemic of people who go to
church when they are supposed tobe the church church when they
(13:29):
are supposed to be the church.
Good church people are thereason.
People who don't know God don'twant anything to do with God.
A lot of times we try to frameit up as like God allows bad
things to happen, this and that, but I'm telling you a majority
of probably why people don'tcome to church is because people
in the church look just likethem.
They have nothing that we have, nothing they want so there's no
difference.
(13:50):
So we need to intentionally, asbelievers, as professing
believers, to live out what theWord says.
Not a preference, not a like, not what we've done for hundreds
of years.
But what does the Word of theliving God say?
(14:11):
What does the Holy Spirit leadus to do?
The Holy Spirit is supposed tolead us into all truth, but he
can't do that if we'reconsistently worried about our
preference instead of truth.
So we look like the world, wesound like the world, but what
we are supposed to do when wesurrender fully to God which is
(14:33):
what a saved person, a savedchurch person, should be, should
look like, should act like iswe should be reflecting God's
holiness, god's love, god'sconviction.
People in the church don't likethis, because that means we've
got to change and do somethingdifferent.
But God still convicts peopletoday.
(14:55):
It's just we don't want to bearound that conviction.
We want to go to a church thatmakes us feel good about how
we're already living, instead ofa church that actually says
what the word of God says.
And this is the epidemic of theChristian culture today, of the
church culture.
But when we surrender fully toGod, we become a living
(15:20):
testimony of the gospel, thetrue gospel, testimony of the
gospel, the true gospel, not theculture gospel, not the churchy
gospel, but the actual gospelof Jesus Christ.
What does the word say?
What does God say a Christianshould look like?
What does the Bible say aChristian should look like?
The Bible says if you do notpick up your cross and kill your
(15:44):
flesh daily, why does it haveto be a daily thing?
Because we are flesh, we areevil, we have a propensity to do
the wrong thing.
Even Paul said I do what Idon't want to do and I can't do
what I want to do.
He's talking about living rightand doing righteous things and
(16:06):
good things.
And yet today we have lulledourselves to sleep with cultural
Christianity and in realitywe're suffocating our spirits.
We're trying to suffocate theSpirit from doing anything in
our services.
We just want to be checked offand we want to have a thumbs up
(16:32):
from our pastors and the leadersin the church saying good job,
thank you for paying your titheshere.
Now go and do what you want.
I've told the people in mychurch if you don't know, I'm a
lead pastor of a church and Idon't want their money, and I
actually tell them.
If you think we're about yourmoney and that's what we're here
for, then give your tithes andoffering somewhere else for
(16:55):
three months and watch theprinciple that God set out.
The one place in the Bible thatGod said test him is in the
giving.
So watch God test, be true tohis word.
And if you don't believe that,if you don't believe God will be
true to his word, when you testhim in a way that he tells you
to test him and you're so stingyand so controlling of your own
(17:16):
money, then God won't bless you.
And I'm not talking about justfinances, I'm talking about in
health.
Like me, I was talking to mywife today or yesterday.
I talk to her every day, butabout this specific topic that
talk to her every day, but aboutthis specific topic that I'm
not on any medications oranything I'm about to.
This year I'll be 40 years old.
I'm on nothing and I thank Godfor that, because if I, it would
(17:46):
be tough if I was on all thesethings and it controlled my life
and you feel funny and all it.
Everything has side effects andit's like, my goodness, half of
the commercial for all the medstuff is like side effects of
all the things that's going tomake you now.
Now you're going to have achyjoints.
Now you're going to have muscle, uh, where everything gets weak
.
But you, you won't have thisanymore.
This will take care of this, but you have 15 other problems.
Now it's like dude.
(18:11):
Here's the fact.
The world, if someone doesn'tknow God, which here?
Everybody goes to church.
In East Texas there's almostnobody that doesn't go,
everybody does, whether it's toplease somebody else or they
think they're getting out ofhell because they go to church
once a week.
But here's the facts.
It doesn't matter where you goto church once a week.
(18:31):
But here's the facts.
It doesn't matter where you goto church, doesn't matter who
your pastor is, doesn't matterwhat clothes you wear when you
go, it doesn't matter what titleyou have at the church If you
don't know Jesus and your lifedoes not belong to him.
I don't care what you preachevery Sunday, you're not going
to heaven.
You will be called a falseteacher, false gospel, false
(18:52):
prophet.
Label it however you want.
But if you're doing it for themoney, if you're doing it to be
some sort of celebrity, oryou're going to church because
that's the church your parentsgrew up in, so that's just where
you have to go and you'respiritually suffering and dying
inside, or you go there so thatyou feel like you're doing
something right in God's eyes, but yet your life says nothing
(19:14):
different from the world, thenyou will not enter the kingdom.
Jesus did not pull punches atall about who is going to go and
who is not going to go.
It's a very dangerous game topretend that God is the Lord of
your life.
I'll give you a very quickstory.
(19:36):
I know we're getting off topic,but it's all right.
Ananias and Sapphira in Acts itwasn't the amount of money that
they gave or didn't give.
The reason God struck them downand killed them was because
they were lying to the HolySpirit.
(19:57):
They were bearing false witness, and so this should open our
eyes for a greater applicationthan just finances, like we
people hone so in on thefinancial thing.
That's because we're lovers ofmoney and it's called greed.
But like you got to understandthat it's.
(20:19):
It's a principle that spansacross the entire life of a
Christian.
Like, don't pretend, don't lieand say Lord, I want you to be
Lord over my life in this littlearea that I try to put you in.
Then you're lying.
You're not saying you want himLord of your life.
You want him only when it'sconvenient for you and in the
(20:40):
proper place that's convenientfor you.
And that is a dangerous game,as Ananias and Sapphira showed
us.
As Ananias and Sapphira showedus.
So we should want to live a lifeof obedience to Christ, live a
life out of obedience to Christ.
(21:01):
This speaks louder than wordsand often will open doors to
being able to share the gospeleven further with those that
don't believe.
We need to pray dangerously, because it is only through
radical surrender that truetransformation happens.
(21:21):
Some people will come to Christ.
They'll raise their hand in theservice.
They'll even come up to thealtar and they're like I want to
give my life to Christ.
They'll raise their hand in theservice.
They'll even come up to thealtar and they're like I want to
give my life to Christ, likethat's great, but what is it
that happens after that?
It's not a one-time event, it isan ongoing, every single day,
dedication of your life, thatyou are continuously being
(21:44):
transformed.
We call this sanctification andongoing every single day.
That every day becomes less ofyou and what you want and what
you desire and more of God.
And this is a beautiful thing.
Like I, I tell God, I tell theHoly Spirit.
So if you read in the NewTestament, there is specific
(22:06):
places where it actually, if youread it, he talks about praying
for the gifts.
Paul's writing in the Church ofCorinth and he says that pray
to the Holy Spirit, not to Mary, not to any other saint that
people come up with.
That's idolatry or necromancy,whichever one.
It's all evil and you have topetition the Holy Spirit.
(22:28):
So actually pray to the HolySpirit, have conversations with
the Holy Spirit.
And so when I realized thatthat was, it wasn't just praying
to God, it wasn't justrelationship with Jesus, but it
was actually communication withthe Holy Spirit.
It changed the way I did my day, it changed the way I
(22:49):
interacted every morning, forinstance.
I have tried to I'm trying tofold myself back to when I first
got off drugs and got out ofjail and I started going to
church and I gave my life to Godagain.
I'm trying to find thatsensitivity, that raw spiritual
(23:11):
awareness that I had in a verysimple thing.
I had no money.
I was doing odd jobs for like10 bucks an hour, cash under the
table, and I was in Walmart.
I had some things in my cart, not a lot, maybe five, six,
seven, maybe ten things.
And this was after I started.
(23:34):
I got out of the town I used tolive in where I was doing drugs
.
I made a new life, moved inwith my cousin and his family
and I was like so raw andsensitive to God, so raw and
sensitive to God that he Like Iheard him tell me Put those
things back and I took specificthings out of my cart.
(23:57):
I knew what they were Probablywhat I didn't need is what I
knew and I put them back on theshelf and I went and checked out
and it was almost to the dimeOf what I had in my wallet, all
the money I had for those things.
My point is we get busy, we getdesensitized, we get distant
(24:19):
from the Holy Spirit and themovement and the conversation
and the reality of the HolySpirit is that he wants to be
actually involved in everydaylife Like he wants to.
We get so anxious and depressed.
And what is the Holy Spiritcalled that he wants to be
actually involved in everydaylife Like he wants to.
We, we, we get so anxious anddepressed.
And and what is the Holy?
What is the Holy Spirit called?
In the Bible, jesus labels himdirectly as one of his things,
being the comforter.
And I think we don't find thatcomfort, that peace, that joy
(24:46):
bubbling out of us like weshould, because we're not
allowing the Comforter to dowhat he actually desires to do.
Because we're so busy, we'llmedicate, we'll try to do a
bunch of other different things, except we'll come to who would
actually know what to do and howto do the job properly, and
(25:08):
that is the Holy Spirit.
We live a life of obedience.
This will open doors for otherpeople to look at us and ask us
why did you do that?
That way?
It spurs, it rises upconversations of people who
(25:30):
don't know God.
This is why I'm not talkingabout membership of a church.
I'm talking about becoming anactual part of the body, an
actual piece to the body ofChrist.
What will draw people to thatplace is servants and people
that truly love and have ahandle on attitudes.
This will draw because theworld has all that other stuff.
(25:50):
It has the attitudes, it hasthe drinking, it has the smoking
.
It has all the things the worldhas to offer.
So the biggest question weshould ask ourselves, if we're
calling ourselves Christians, iswhat is it that we have that
they don't have?
And if we look exactly likethem, then we're not reflecting
Christ, we're reflecting culture, and there should be a
(26:13):
difference.
There should be a massivedifference.
The more we mature in Christ, the closer we get to God.
The closer we get to the HolySpirit, the more we allow
ourselves to be used by the HolySpirit, the more we will
reflect God, clearer, moreclearly.
It will be more evident.
But it has to happen throughradical surrender, and through
(26:35):
radical surrender becomesradical transformation.
When the world looks at us,they shouldn't see us, they
shouldn't see themselves, theyshould see Christ.
So we also need to reflectChrist to the world.
John 13, 34 and 35.
(27:00):
So now I'm giving you a newcommandment Love each other.
Just as I have loved you, youshould love each other.
Your love for one another willprove to the world that you are
my disciples.
This love, which is asacrificial and radical love, is
the key to the world, is a keyto the world knowing who Christ
is.
It is the key for the worldseeing Christ as the love we
(27:25):
portray, not only for each otherbut to them.
So why should we praydangerously?
Because praying dangerouslyfuels the kind of love that
changes the world.
It's through prayer that we areempowered to live out Christ's
love in a way that impacts thosearound us.
It's dangerous to love othersas Jesus did.
It costs us our comfort.
(27:46):
I'm not here to try to sell youon.
Living for Jesus is a just arainbows and butterflies type
situation.
It's tough, and to actuallystick to that and not do what
everybody else is doing can alsomake it very lonely.
But the Bible even carves outthis topic as well, as the road
to the path to heaven is narrow, but the path to hell is wide
(28:08):
and ready to receive anybody.
But it takes a certain kind ofdedication and that's what is
required of the believer.
James 5.16 Confess your sins toeach other and pray for each
other so that you may be healed.
(28:29):
The earnest prayer of arighteous man and woman and
person has great power andproduces wonderful results.
Prayer is the engine behindgodly living.
However, the prayers that trulyalign with God's will and
invite His power into our livesare often bold and dangerous,
(28:52):
like that scripture.
We read at the very beginningthat Joshua prayed for a
sun-set-still moment, to givethem a little longer, so they
would not be in the dark andthey could see, to win the fight
.
And it happened.
Not only the sun, but the moonEphesians 3, but the moon
(29:18):
Ephesians 3, 20 and 21.
Now, all the glory to God, whois able, through his mighty
power at work within us, toaccomplish infinitely more than
we might ask or think.
Glory to him in the church andin Christ Jesus through all
generations, forever and ever.
Amen.
Praying dangerously means askingGod to do what only he can do.
It's about trusting in Hissovereignty and boldly asking
(29:43):
for His intervention in waysthat will bring glory to His
name and further His kingdom, inways that will bring glory to
His name and further His kingdom.
So what are some practical waysthat we could pray out of our
comfort zone and praydangerously?
The first one would be pray forGod's will, not just your,
(30:07):
comfort.
Jesus prayed in the Garden ofGethsemane.
So, if you remember, he knew itwas about to be.
He said this is the hour.
It's appearing, it's coming,it's about to happen.
They be on their way.
But Jesus prayed this as hislast prayer before he was taken.
(30:28):
Not my will, but yours.
Now I don't know if you graspthe magnitude of this prayer
from Jesus.
To me it's very encouraging andkind of sad at the same time,
because he's crying out Lord ifthere's another way.
He's crying out Lord if there'sanother way.
(30:49):
But if you live long enough inlife you know usually there's
not another way.
It's got to happen the way it'ssupposed to happen and we have
to be okay with that, beingchildren of God.
So pray for bold opportunitiesto serve and witness.
So pray for God's will, notyour, comfort.
(31:11):
Pray for bold opportunities todo the work of the Lord.
Praying dangerously means askingGod for opportunities that push
us out of our comfort zone.
You see a repeating theme, whether it's sharing the gospel
with someone who needs to hearit or serving in a way that
stretches us.
Now, a rubber band is pointlessuntil it is stretched.
(31:37):
Write that down, put it on yourmirror, on your refrigerator.
Now, talking about yourThanksgiving stretchy pants I'm
talking about.
It doesn't help you grow, itdoesn't help you actually feel
fulfilled, until God stretchesyou and moves you and helps you
grow into a place to whereyou're expanding the kingdom of
God, which is the purpose ofthis whole thing.
(31:59):
You should not become aChristian just so.
It's all about you.
Well, now I'm out of trouble.
Now God's not going to get me.
Now I'm not going to.
I ain't going to stay herebehind with these heathens.
Sometimes we make salvationabout us too.
So another is pray expectantlyand persistently.
So pray for God's will not justyour comfort, pray for bold
(32:22):
opportunities to serve and towitness.
And when you pray, expectsomething to happen and expect
all the time.
Luke 18, 1-8.
One day Jesus told his disciplesa story to show that they
should always pray and nevergive up.
(32:42):
There was a judge in a certaincity, he said, who neither
feared God nor cared aboutpeople.
A widow of that city came tohim repeatedly saying Give me
justice in this dispute with myenemy.
The judge ignored her for awhile but finally said to
himself I don't fear God or careabout people, but this woman is
(33:05):
driving me crazy.
I'm going to see that she getsjustice because she is wearing
me out with her persistentrequests.
A dangerous prayer, doesn'tgive up.
It keeps knocking, it keepstrusting God will answer
according to His will.
(33:27):
Another is pray for themiraculous.
We see from cover to cover inthe Bible God answering prayers
for the miraculous to happen.
This is very encouraging for ustoday.
I think sometimes we forgetabout.
We know God is love, god caresthis and that, but we often
(33:49):
forget that he also doesmiracles and he answers big
prayers, them forget that healso does miracles and he
answers big prayers.
When we pray dangerously andlive according to the word,
people also notice and this willdraw people to Christ.
They see the fruit of thespirit in our lives.
So let's go Galatians, chapter5, 22 and 23, and list out the
(34:11):
fruit of the spirit.
But the Holy Spirit producesthis kind of fruit in our lives
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness
, gentleness and self-control.
I think there's a big, big, bigintention here that it starts
with love and it bookends withself-control.
I believe it kind of wraps upall the others.
(34:32):
If you can get those two down, the rest will fall in line.
There's no law against thesethings.
They witness the power of Godmoving through us and working in
us.
Our bold prayers and obedientlives testify to God's
transformative power.
People are more likely tobelieve in the power of prayer
(34:52):
when they see it working in ourlives.
I got to see it, to believe it.
Well, if we're not presentingit in a way that it's truth, why
would anybody ever believe thatGod actually answers prayer If
we don't?
In Revelation I believe it'schapter four there's a little
thing that says that we areovercomers by the blood of the
lamb and the word of ourtestimony.
(35:13):
So what does that mean?
Jesus paid for all of our sin, which is where we get our
testimony from.
He covers everything.
So His blood is the key for usto be overcomers and our
testimony of what that blood hasdone.
It solidifies and it verifiesthat Christ is who he says he
(35:37):
was.
So we're literally repeatingthe gospel to other people by
our testimony.
By telling other people whatGod has done, we are saying
listen, this is what the Biblesays and this is what I have
experienced.
You've got to see what this isabout, because it will change
your life.
So the way we testify, the waywe talk about what God has done,
(35:59):
the way we share the good news, the way we share the goodness
in our life that's happeningfrom obeying God.
There's not a whole lot ofpeople that talk about well, I
obeyed God and look what God did.
It's usually we just talk aboutthe miracle.
We talk about this and that, but we don't often pinpoint or
(36:19):
relate what it was that got meto that place.
So I want to leave you withthis.
Our bold prayers and obedientlives testify of God's
transformative power.
People are more likely tobelieve in the power of prayer.
Our bold prayers and obedientlives testify of God's
transformative power.
People are more likely tobelieve in the power of prayer
(36:40):
when they see it being done andGod working in our lives.
When we pray boldly, we inviteothers to experience the same,
the same life-changing powerthat we have encountered through
Christ.
Praying dangerously is not justabout asking God to move in a
big way.
It's about aligning our heartswith His will surrounding our
lives, surrendering our lives toHis purpose and stepping out in
(37:04):
faith.
Everything God asks for us,everything God, the principles
that God puts out in the Bible.
It requires action.
You can't just read it, you'vegot to do it.
You can't just pray it, you'vegot to live it out.
You can't just read it, you gotto do it.
You can't just pray it, you gotto live it out.
You can't just, oh Lord, I hopeyou do this.
Like how little of faith doesthat sound when you're like, oh,
I just, I'm, I'm hoping Goddoes this.
(37:26):
Quit acting like a weenie, startstart praying and speaking in
faith.
What did Jesus say over andover and over again to those he
healed?
Your faith has made you whole.
He even didn't go to a place,he said, because they have no
faith.
Faith without works is dead.
(37:50):
As we pray with boldness, weexperience God's power and are
transformed into livingtestimonies of his love.
These dangerous prayers filledwith trust and faith will lead
to a personal transformation anddraw others to Christ.
(38:11):
When we pray dangerously, weare inviting God to work in ways
that are beyond our humanunderstanding and we are
trusting Him To display Hisglory Through our lives.
So now let me challenge you.
You know I end up Every video.
(38:33):
I end up shutting it down witha little bit of a challenge.
So I want to challenge you withthis.
As a believer, have you beenpraying dangerously or have your
prayers been safe?
And you may ask like well, howdo I get to praying dangerously,
(38:53):
like, how do I start with bigprayers?
Very simple.
You may ask how do I get topraying dangerously?
How do I start with big prayers?
Very simple you don't.
When you pray over the littlethings and you believe God over
the little things and yes, include Him in what you buy for
groceries.
Include Him in stretching yourmoney so that you can buy more
groceries, ask for things.
God enjoys that.
It's like when you have yourkids come up.
(39:18):
If you have kids and they comeup to you or a niece and nephew,
whatever, and they ask forsomething and you give it to
them out of the goodness of yourheart, you give a good gift to
them and it makes them excitedand they want to be around you
more.
You're fun, you're loving, youactually care that they had a
need and you took care of it andnow you're the favorite aunt or
(39:38):
the favorite uncle and you canget them to do anything.
God desires for us to bring ourissues, our problems, our
heart's desire to him.
That's what he loves.
He designed us to be inrelationship with him.
I'm not saying he's a slotmachine, but what I am saying is
he is challenging us, as thebelievers, to pray in faith for
(40:06):
big things to happen.
So are you praying big?
Do you believe if you lay handson someone that is sick or has
cancer or whatever the ailmentmay be in their body or they
have a growth or they have, theyhave sinus issues or they have
a psoriasis or they have anautoimmune disease, whatever Do
you believe if you lay hands onthem that they will be healed?
(40:28):
I have seen time after timeafter time not well learned, not
studied up on the scriptures.
They didn't go to a certainBible study or a prayer team or
anything like that.
They just knew what the wordsaid and they were just foolish
enough to believe it and Godshowed up.
Now you may ask yourself whatabout the times God doesn't heal
(40:51):
?
