William Carroll (00:01):
Well, welcome
to Faith Walk, William Carroll,
and I'm your host here on thispodcast and we're going to be
talking about taking God out ofthe box.
We're talking about you knowhow God has worked in my life
through signs, wonders andmiracles.
You know, by believing on Hisword, standing on His word,
reaching out, praying for people, leading people to the Lord and
(00:23):
just being an ambassador toChrist.
The last podcast we talkedabout being an ambassador to
Christ 2 Corinthians 5, 17, 221,how that we are an ambassador
to Christ.
You were a new creature, created in Christ Jesus, because
he reconciled us to God throughHis death upon the cross.
Amen, all right, I hope youstudied that.
(00:45):
I hope you went and looked andgot off on the rabbit trails and
started studying the Word ofGod.
Because I'm not going to youknow I keep saying I'm not going
to baby spoon you.
I'm going to be a spoon of babyfood, baby food, baby food.
I'm going to make you tastethat, the good word of God, and
then get into the word and findout for yourself if it's true or
not true.
(01:05):
Don't believe what I say.
Don't believe what I say.
Go and back it up in words sothat you know that, you know
that, you know that, you knowthat what I'm saying is true,
and then back in, in, in, in agrief with the word of God.
You see, the word of God andthe spirit of God always, always
agrees.
(01:25):
The word of God and the spiritof God always agrees Amen, All
right.
So today we're moving ahead,we're jumping up to to give you
a little bit of a testimony, andI'm going to start in John,
chapter 11, and I'm going tostart in verse one and I'm going
to.
I'm going to be just trying toread pretty fast, because this
(01:46):
is a long chapter and I want toget it.
I want to get to where Godwants us to get.
It says a man named Lazarus wassick.
He lived in Bethany with hissisters, mary and Martha.
This is the Mary who laterpoured the expensive perfume on
the Lord's feet and wiped themwith her hair.
Her brother, lazarus, was sick.
So the two sisters sent amessage.
(02:07):
Remember this.
The two sisters sent a messageto Jesus telling him Lord, your
dear friend is very sick.
But when Jesus heard about it,he said Lazarus, sickness is not
unto the death.
No, it happened for the gloryof God.
So the son of God will receiveglory from this.
So, although Jesus loved Marthaand Mary and Lazarus, he stayed
(02:29):
where he was for the next twodays.
Finally, he said to hisdisciples let's go back to Judea
.
But his disciples objectedRabbi, they said, only a few
days ago the people in Judeawere trying to stone you.
Are you going, therefore, again?
And Jesus replied there are 12hours of the daylight every day.
(02:51):
During the day people can walksafely, they see, because they
have the light of this world.
But at night there is danger ofstumbling because they have no
light.
Then he said our friend Lazarushas fallen asleep, but now I'll
go and wake him up.
The disciples said Lord, ifhe's sleeping he will soon get
better.
They thought Jesus meantLazarus was simply sleeping, but
(03:14):
Jesus meant Lazarus had died.
So he told them plainly Lazarusis dead and for your sake, I'm
glad I wasn't there, for now youwill really believe.
Come, let's go see him.
Thomas Nick, named the twins, said to his fellow disciples
let's go to and die with Jesus.
(03:34):
You know they call him doubtingThomas.
You know, oh, let us all go.
But was he doubting or was hespeaking faith?
You know, I don't know.
You know, I think he by otherthings in the word.
He was probably doubting, youknow.
He just said well, come on,let's go, we're going to die too
.
Anyway, excuse me, john 11, 17.
(03:58):
When Jesus arrived at Bethany,he was told that Lazarus had
already been in the grave forfour days.
Bethany was only a few milesdown the road from Jerusalem and
many other people had come toconsole Martha and Mary in their
loss.
When Martha got the word thatJesus was coming, she ran to
meet him.
But Mary stayed in the house.
(04:19):
Martha said to Jesus Lord, ifonly you had been here, my
brother would not have died.
But even now I know God willgive you whatever you ask.
And Jesus told her your brotherwill rise again.
Yes, martha said he will riseagain.
Everyone else rises at the lastday.
(04:41):
And Jesus told her I am theresurrection, the life.
Anyone who believes in me willlive even after dying.
Everyone who lives in me,believes in me, will never die.
Do you believe this, martha?
Yes, lord, she told him, I havealways believed.
You are the Messiah, the Son ofGod, the one who has come into
(05:03):
the world from God.
And then she returned to Mary.
She called Mary aside in themornings and she told her hey,
the teacher's here and he wantsto see you.
So Mary immediately went to himand Jesus had stayed outside
the village at a place whereMartha had met him.
And when the people who were atthe house consoling Mary saw
her leaving so hastedly, theyassumed she was going to Lazarus
(05:27):
grace the weep.
So they followed her there.
When Mary arrived and saw Jesus, she fell at his feet and said
Lord, if only you had been here,my brother would not have died.
When Jesus saw her weeping andsaw the other people wailing
with her, a deep anger welled upin him and he was deeply
(05:48):
troubled.
Where have you put him, heasked.
They told him Lord, come andsee then Jesus.
Well, the people who werestanding nearby said see how
much he loved him.
But some said this man healed ablind man.
Couldn't he have kept Lazarusfrom dying?
Jesus was still angry as hearrived at the tomb, a cave
(06:09):
where a stone rolled across itsentrance.
Roll the stone aside, jesustold him.
But Martha?
But Martha, the dead man'ssister, protested Lord, he's
been dead for four days.
The smell will be terrible, jesus responded.
Didn't I tell you that youwould see God's glory if you
believed?
(06:29):
So they rolled the stone away.
Then Jesus looked up intoheaven and said Father, thank
you for hearing me.
You always hear me, but I saidit out loud for the sake of all
these people standing here sothat they may believe.
You sent me and Jesus shoutedLazarus, come out.
And the dead man came out, hishands, his feet bound and grave
(06:53):
clothes, his face wrapped with ahead cloth.
Jesus said unwrap him and lethim go.
Now, the first thing I want tosay is when did Jesus tell
Martha and them?
He in John 11, 40,.
Jesus asked her.
He said didn't I tell you thatyou would see God's glory If you
believe?
When did he tell him that?
Well, if you go back to thevery beginning, martha and Mary
(07:19):
sent messengers to Jesus.
The two messengers and 11 and 3sent the two sisters, sent a
message to Jesus telling himLord, your dear friend is very
sick.
But when Jesus heard about it,he said Lazarus sickness will
not end in death.
No, it happened for the gloryof God.
So the son of God will receiveglory from this.
(07:43):
So he told him.
He sent the messengers back andsaid he's not gonna die, or he,
you know he's.
It's not gonna end in death.
He did die, but he said itwasn't gonna end in death, but
this is for the glory of God.
And Did you notice, in thisstory too, that when she, she
(08:03):
had a, she had a faith.
She, she made a statement offaith after Jesus talked to her.
Unless he, it's right here it'sJohn 11, 27.
It says oh well, let's start in26.
20-25, 11, 25 says Jesus toldher I'm the resurrection, the
(08:24):
life.
Anyone who believes in me willlive even after dying.
Everyone who lives in me andbelieves in me will never die.
Do you believe this, martha?
Yes, lord, she's told him.
I've always believed you're theMessiah, the son of God, the
one who has come into the worldfrom God.
Then which he returned to Maryand she called Mary aside from
(08:45):
the mourners and said hey, theteacher is here, he wants to see
you.
So, mary.
So Mary went to him, you know, and she said you know, if you
would have been here, if youwould have been here, you
wouldn't have died.
So, listen, martha made astatement of faith.
But then she turned rightaround and she didn't believe
what was happening.
So she said hey, you know whatI can send, mary?
(09:07):
I can send Marian to him andand Mary can convince him to
raise Lazarus from the dead.
Maybe Mary can convince him togo.
So, anyway, jesus already toldhim that it the sickness was For
the glory of God, that youwould believe.
He told the disciples I'm gladyou, we wasn't there, come on
(09:28):
down and let's believe.
Now we're talking about thegrave.
We're talking about.
Jesus said come out of thegrave.
Come out, lazarus, come out.
I want to talk about that grave.
Is the word of God still true?
Yes, it's still true.
Does God say come out of thegrave sometimes?
Yes, it may not be a physicalgrave, it may not.
It may be a mental grave, itmay be a grave.
(09:49):
I'm just gonna tell you aboutmy grave.
My grave is I had neck surgery.
I had neck surgery and in 2020and Then in 2021, I had COVID.
I had for three months.
I was sick.
I was on oxygen at the house.
I had to keep oxygen on at alltime.
Oxygen level was the upper 60sand the lower 70s for three
(10:14):
months and If I walked anywhere, even with the oxygen on, the
oxygen level would go down.
It finally started gettingbetter.
I was in.
I was in the bathroom one timeand I Was sitting in there and I
was just, I told, I told, Itold God, I was just that that
was a quiet room, you know, itwas a room away from everybody
(10:35):
else.
So I was just in there and Isaid, I said Lord, I said I said
, if you're through with me, ifyou're through with me, then
come call me home because I'mready.
And my wife was way in thekitchen, you know she shouldn't
been able to hear me, but sheyelled no, you're not.
(10:56):
And I said, yes, I am, I'mready to go home.
If he's through with me, ifhe's through with me, I'm ready
to go home.
And I would lay down at nightand I wouldn't know if I was
gonna wake up in the morning.
We got this little dog and everytime I was feeling really,
really bad, and that's when Ididn't know if I was gonna make
it through the night.
And I lay down.
He'd come in there and he'dstart barking at me and I mean
(11:18):
he would bark and bark, and barkand bark.
There's a little Yorkie, iswhat he is, and and so I, you
know, I'd say go away, go away.
Well, he wouldn't go away, he'dkeep barking till somebody come
in there and checked on me.
When they came in there andchecked on me and I said no, I'm
alright, I'm just feelingreally, really bad, you know,
and they left the room, then hewould go.
(11:39):
But I'll tell you, I was so forthree and a half years.
Let's you get on with the story.
For three and a half years, ever since the neck surgery,
ever since the COVID, and I wentahead and retired because they
were trying to well, they wastrying to force me out after
that and I prayed about it andGod just relieved the burden
(12:05):
that it was time to retire.
I've been working at the oilfield at that company for 33,
and 33 years and five months, all right.
So anyway, so I retired, and Iwas gonna retire anyway the next
year in July, and so I just gotto go early, you know, but I
needed to.
My physical health wasn't reallygood.
(12:25):
I really couldn't work eighthours in a day.
Well then I started having awhole lots of problems.
So my dermatologist sent me toa, a, a rheumatologist, because
she says you've got psoriasisand do you ever have aches in
your hands or your elbows oryour you know?
(12:47):
And the truth was I had acheseverywhere in my hips, my elbows
, my back, my neck, and it hadjust getting worse and worse and
I was actually confined to achair.
You know, I couldn't a rockingchair.
I couldn't walk outside withoutmy hips hurting.
I had to sit down, I couldn't.
I couldn't help around theplace.
You know, I had a hard timemowing the grass, you know, and
(13:10):
it was, it was my neck.
I had a C3456 fused because itwas bone on bone.
So they stretched it out, put apiece of metal in there, six
screws and skin grafts, threeskin grafts, and it wasn't
healing really good, you know, for some reason.
And and then, of course, I hadthe COVID.
I got COVID brain.
(13:30):
For three and a half years Icouldn't remember scripture, I
couldn't remember the things ofGod that I had learned.
And so last year, on this dateand today is October, the, I
believe it's around the 14th solast year, around October 14th
or 15th, a little before that, god had laid it on my heart that
(13:52):
we needed to find anotherchurch for my daughter because
where there were some olderteens and some high school
students and they were gonna begraduating and we just didn't
have any in our church and sheneeded to be around and see
people that were her own age, that worship God, love God,
(14:12):
studied the word of God, spokethe word of God, and so he put
this church on my, on my heart, and so we were going to go visit
Dean.
And so we went to this churchand I knew the pastor.
He had been my daughter'stheater teacher for, oh golly,
you know, four or five years, you know, and so I'd been around
(14:33):
him, I'd seen him, I'd watchedhim, you know, and he was such a
blessing to me and such ablessing to the kids, and I knew
that they had a good youthgroup.
So we went to church that dayand I said, all right, let's go
try a church.
And she said, okay, let's gotry it.
So my daughter went, me and mywife, and we got there and you
know, it was a.
(14:54):
The people just were so niceand received us in there and we
had been going there for, oh, Idon't know, a couple of weeks.
Oh, you know what?
Let me make that?
You know, the youth pastor andthe worship leader there is was
my kids, my older kids, who were30s in their 30s youth pastor
(15:15):
when they were teenagers, and Iwas a youth sponsor and helped,
and it was such a blessing tosee him.
You know, I've known him over20 something years and he just,
you know, he said, hey, william, and you know what, maybe I
should have been a youth pastor, because he hadn't changed one
bit at all.
I mean, he looks as young as hedid.
(15:36):
Then, you know, it's been 20years.
I said, man, I'm in the wrong,I'm in the wrong ministry, you
know.
And and so, anyway, a couple ofa couple of weeks after we had
been going there, we weresitting in there and I couldn't
man, I was hurting so bad.
I was still in all this pain, Iwas still hurting.
I was trying all this medicinethat they were trying to put on
(16:00):
me $7,600 a month, you know, fortwo shots, or and it just made
me worse and got worse, you know, and I mean I was really down,
I was really.
I said, lord, you know, ifyou're through with me, you know
, I don't want to live like this, I'm too young to live like
this.
So I was sitting in church andand they, the praise team,
(16:21):
started worshiping and startedseeing, and I was standing up, I
was worshiping, you know, andall I could think about was
golly.
You know, I'm in such pain, I'mready to go home, you know.
And they started to sing oh,glorious day.
And in glorious day.
If you hadn't heard it, golisten to it.
It says he called my name and Iran out of the grave.
(16:43):
Well, you know, jesus calledLazarus' name and he came out of
the grave and he said loose himand let him go.
So they took the grave clothesoff of him.
Well, I was sitting there andwhen they started singing that
song, I started jumping, Istarted shouting, I started
screaming, I started raising myhand, I started praising God.
And it wasn't that I starteddoing it, but the spirit of God
(17:04):
came upon me and it I just Ifelt like I tell you what I knew
.
The presence of God was thereand we sit in the front, you
know, and it's in.
After it was all over, man, Imean, I was feeling good.
I said, wow, you know, and wesat down and I poked my wife.
I said, well, if they don'tkick us out now, after the day,
(17:28):
we got it made, you know, andcome to find out that it blessed
a lot of people doing that.
And I didn't do it on purpose,I did it because the spirit of
God came upon me.
If the spirit of God moves youto do something, do it, do it,
do it.
You don't know how it's goingto bless people, or the people
that are behind you, or theyouth in the church that just
(17:49):
you know, it blessed some ofthem.
They just got on fire for Godand some of the men you know
started worshiping God.
Well, anyway, to make a longstory short, I'm going to tell
you that since that time, oneyear ago, god has got me off of
the medication.
God has got me out of the chair.
God has got me out where I canwork around the house.
I can mow the lawn.
(18:10):
I can, I can.
You know I couldn't even sweepthe floor without sitting down
for three or four times, forfour or five minutes, because I
was hurting so bad.
So I started, I quit all thathigh dollar note that they were
giving me drugs for, forarthritis and all, and I just
started saying Lord, I'm goingto trust you, you're the healer.
You said you're a healer.
You said buddy, stripes, I amhealed.
(18:31):
Lord, I'm going to starttrusting you.
Every day I get up and I, I, Iknow it myself with oil and I
said, father, in the name ofJesus, heal me from the inside
out.
If you're not through with meyet, lord, I need you to heal my
body.
Lord, I need to heal of thepain and of the of, and I'm not.
Listen, I've never claimedarthritis.
I'm not going to claim itbecause I always say they say,
(18:54):
they say I have arthritis, butthe word of God, I see, the word
of God says I'm not moved bywhat I see, feel, hear, smell or
taste.
I'm moved by the word of Godand the spirit of God and not by
my feelings.
See, but I had got in myfeelings.
Now, since that time, I'm goingto tell you God has brought me
(19:15):
out of that grave.
I was in a grave.
I was in a grave, you know.
No, it wasn't in the ground, Iwasn't covered up, but I was in
a grave, I was dead.
I was good to nobody.
I was good not to my family, not to.
I was good to nobody becausethe devil was trying to steal my
life.
He was trying to take my lifeaway from me, trying to make me
give up on life and say, hey,it's easier for me to check out
(19:38):
than it is to check back in andto call on God, to believe God's
word.
And then when I did that, godstarted bringing up all these
memories, all these times thatthat he used me, you know, to
pray for other people, to prayfor sickness, to to lead people
to the Lord.
And I had a precious friend atthe old church that we was at
(19:59):
and she had handed me the lastday I was there.
She handed me and Janie a note.
It was scribbled on a piece ofpaper and ripped out of a
notebook and the precious ladysaid in this deal.
It said God is not through withyou, liyette.
So now I'm doing God's work, myfather's business.
I'm working at New CreationFoundation in Troop.
It's a restoration for men.
(20:20):
We have 14 men it, we, we, uh,they, they work, they study the
word of God.
For 12 to 14 months theylearned the word of God and they
are recreated because they gotto a point where either it was
drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, whatever their problem was,
you know, uh, they needed, theyhad got to the very bottom and
(20:43):
they needed to be lifted up.
And that's what we're doingwe're lifting them up.
See my pastor friend over there, pastor Greg.
He called me.
He said hey, man, can I talk toyou for lunch?
I went over and talked to himfor lunch.
I said, man, what's going on?
And he said, uh, well, uh.
And I said you need help.
He said, yeah, how'd you know?
I said God told me in prayerthat you need help, and and, and
(21:05):
so he said he said, well, uh,yeah, I need help.
And I said, okay, how many days?
Three, well, it's ending upfour.
You know, it's about four days, sometimes five days, sometimes
long hours, because I'm puttingout fire Used to be a fireman.
Sometimes there's fires overthere that we have to put out,
you know, and we have to dealwith the situation, you know,
and I'm a new man coming in andthey don't know how to react to
(21:26):
me, and uh, but they're learningand you know it's by the power
of God, the spirit of God.
That's how I want to minister, through the spirit of God, and,
and my church is a blessingchurch, you know, god called me
out of that grave, that simplesong called me out of that grave
, and I'm not going back in it,I'm going to be about my
father's business, I'm going tobe about doing the word of God,
(21:47):
you know, and right now.
I'm down here in central Texas.
I just went in today to theKyle unit TDC Kyle unit with a
group of people to minister andwe minister to men out there and
we had many men give their lifeto the Lord and receive Christ
(22:08):
and a lot of them that got backon the right track.
You can call it rededication, Idon't.
You know whatever you wannacall it, but I'm gonna tell you
God is moving.
People are hungry for God.
I love my new church.
God had just placed me andJanie there, and the first time
we went I knew I was home.
I knew that's the place thatGod wanted us.
(22:28):
The people there are suchprecious people hungry for God,
hungry to do the work of God,and they will.
If you say, hey, let's go do so.
And so let's go out here, putup a tent and tell people about
Jesus and share about what ourchurch is doing, how we're
building on for the youth, youknow they're like let's go,
they're ready to go, they'reready to go, and they don't only
(22:51):
say let's go, they'll come andgo with you, you know.
So I just wanna encourage you.
You know, whatever you're goingthrough, if you're sitting in
that chair and you're listeningto this and you can't move.
Look, start believing God.
See, the word of God saidthere's nothing impossible with
God.
Start believing that God is.
God is the same yesterday, today, forever.
(23:15):
Hebrew 13 and eight.
I've gotta get off of here, butlisten, I wanna tell you
something.
Drop me a note.
You might wanna just email meat faithwalk1960,.
Faithwalk1960,faithwalk1960atoutlookcom.
Drop a note.
If you need prayer, drop a note.
(23:36):
I'll pray for you.
I'll pray with you.
I'll agree with you.
I wanna agree with what youneed, because there's a power in
agreement.
See, wanna put a thousand toflee, to put 2,000 to flee Until
next time.
This is William saying take Godout of the box in Jesus's name.
I love you.
Jesus love you.
If you don't know him, ask himinto your heart today.
(23:59):
Amen, until next time.
