William Carroll (00:01):
Well, good
morning.
This is Faith Walk podcast withWilliam Carroll.
I'm your host and this podcastis about how God has taught me
the word of God, that I havelearned the word of God.
I've stood on the word of God,I have done what the word of God
says, believed the word of God,had faith that what he says is
real.
You see, religion puts God in ablock and it says God doesn't
(00:25):
do that today.
God won't work like that today.
But relationship, relationshipwith Jesus, says that he's still
the same yesterday, today andforever.
So this is a program, is aboutgetting God out of the box and
start being what you are inChrist.
See, jesus isn't here, butthrough the Holy Spirit, the
(00:45):
same Spirit that lives in you, that raised Christ from the dead
, you're here to do the works ofChrist, all right.
So today I'm very honored, it'sa privilege and honor to have
my friend Stephen here.
I did a podcast and I believe,if you look it, it dropped on
(01:06):
November, the 10th, and I'll goback later on and find the deal
and put it in the description, the number of the podcast.
But it was about how that we,everybody, was praying for his
wife and his wife was in thehospital at Dallas, at Dallas
Methodist, and basically andStephen can attest to this she
(01:26):
was basically on her death bedat the time.
That Lord dropped it in myheart to go pray.
And so we went and we loaded upand we went go back and listen
to that podcast, because I don'twant to take a lot of time up,
because I want to give Stephenhis time from his perspective.
See, you always have twodifferent perspectives.
(01:47):
I have my perspective, janie hasher perspective, stephen has
his perspective.
It doesn't mean they're wrong, but we see things differently to
make the whole picture comealive.
And so I talked to him theother day and I called him.
I said I man, I have beenexcited since I talked to him a
week ago.
I said we got to do this.
(02:08):
You're gonna be my first gueston my podcast and I am so
excited to have him and so.
So, stephen, I'm just gonnaturn it over to you and I'm
gonna let you just, you know, just kind of go in the first and
you just just tell them kind ofwhat led up to when we did end
up praying and everything.
Stephen Mccauley (02:30):
Well, my wife
had gotten sick, she had
cirrhosis of the liver and shehad lost from about 220 pounds
down to 66 pounds and beforethey had admitted her into the
hospital and when they admittedher, she was so thin and so
(02:58):
frail.
It was unbelievable.
I mean, she couldn't walk, shecouldn't feed herself.
I was having to pick her up andtake her to the bathroom and
you know a will to her around ina wheelchair everywhere because
she couldn't walk, she couldn'tdo anything and she was on.
(03:20):
When they admitted her they puther on a breathing tube, on a
feeding tube, and a couple daysafter that she was on dialysis,
her kidneys and everything hadstarted.
Everything had started shuttingdown her liver, kidneys and
everything and she was on aliver transplant.
(03:42):
But she was.
I thought she was gonna dieright there and William called
and said that him and Terriotsalike were gonna come up and
pray and I said okay, and thefamily didn't want anybody in
(04:04):
the room with the wife becauseshe was so sick and so ill and I
told him to come on and theycame up and William was so nice
about everything and was soconcerned about not hurting
(04:25):
anybody's feelings andeverything, and I was so out of
it.
I didn't care.
At that time I was, I waslooking for any kind of support,
help because I was.
I was just out of it.
And I met him, I think down inthe lobby or somewhere, because
(04:48):
I had been out getting suppliesand stuff and I'd met him and
we'd rode up the elevator to theICU, the ICU room where she was
(05:09):
at, and I just told everybodyjust come on in.
William Carroll (05:16):
You just walked
in there, like you on the place
, and they didn't stop him and Ithink it was what two people in
the room or two, three familymembers in the room at a time.
Stephen Mccauley (05:27):
Yeah, there
was only supposed to be two
people in the room at a time, but I didn't care, we were just
gonna do it, and there was threeof us.
William Carroll (05:36):
well, there was
four of us counting you, and
there was already two people inthe room.
Stephen Mccauley (05:40):
Yeah, another
law and sister law were already
in the room, but, as sick as mywife was, the staff was
overlooking that there wasalready three of us in there.
William Carroll (05:53):
Right.
Stephen Mccauley (05:53):
You know.
And when I told them, you knowwhat these are my friends, and
we just walked right in and justthey didn't say a word, did
they you?
know they didn't say a wordbecause I thought at that point
she was, she was on the way outbecause she couldn't do anything
(06:14):
by herself and and all thetubes and everything to come
going out in her and everythingwas and she wasn't really
responding too much.
You know, she, you could talkto her and everything, but she
really didn't respond.
I mean she was just there.
William Carroll (06:34):
She didn't
respond at all when we were
there, right?
I mean, you know, we tried totalk to her and you tried to
talk to her and she was just youknow when up.
When we walked in that room I'mgonna tell you how the devil
works when we walked in and Isaw her, my heart dropped, I
mean it just went, and I said,oh my gosh, she was so tiny, 66
(06:56):
pounds, you said, and in allthese tubes.
And there was no response fromher and my heart said she's not
gonna make it another day.
And the devil tried to talk.
You know, try to put fear in,but you know where fear is.
Faith can't work.
And I said, no, I'm on amission from God.
Stephen Mccauley (07:14):
Amen, and you
were.
Everybody was.
William Carroll (07:18):
That's exactly
right.
All of us, you know.
Stephen Mccauley (07:20):
We all believe
.
William Carroll (07:22):
We did, that's
it.
Stephen Mccauley (07:23):
I think that
was the key that everybody
believed in God that day.
And man, that's right, you were.
William Carroll (07:30):
Y'all were,
especially you was expecting
something, expecting, you know, you have to be expecting
something from God to receivesomething from God, and and
y'all were at the point wherey'all had no hope, basically but
you were expecting that yourGod could do something and turn
(07:52):
this around.
That's right.
Okay, go ahead, man, I'm justgetting excited.
You know, it was such a amazingthing.
Stephen Mccauley (08:01):
It's emotional
, it is Because that day I
didn't know if I was gonna havemy wife the next day or not,
because it was.
She was so out of it and sosick and then when y'all showed
up and begin to pray, man, myspirit started being affected
(08:28):
and I just felt a whole changewhen the, when the prayer came,
and I knew that everything wasgonna be alright.
After the prayer I mean, I justfelt it, and it was the next
(08:48):
day they removed all the tooth.
William Carroll (08:51):
Oh, amen.
Stephen Mccauley (08:52):
And she was
better the next day.
William Carroll (08:57):
I mean, she was
healed and now, did her kidneys
start working the next day ordid they still have to do some
dialysis on kidneys?
Stephen Mccauley (09:07):
They took her
off everything the next day.
Her things started working.
She was healed and two daysafter that they made the
arrangements to move her fromMethodist to Longview to a
nursing home to rehab, to gether to learn how to walk again.
(09:28):
All her muscles were, theyweren't in shape to walk, they
couldn't hold her up, so she hadto learn how to walk again.
William Carroll (09:40):
Now how long,
at this point, for her muscles
to be that?
I know she lost a lot of weight.
She lost a lot of muscle weight, but how long had it been since
she was able to walk on her own?
Stephen Mccauley (09:51):
It had been a
couple of months.
William Carroll (09:53):
Oh, wow, okay.
Stephen Mccauley (09:54):
It had been,
yeah, a couple of months, maybe
three months, wow, Because shehad been sick a long time and we
just couldn't get the rightdiagnosis from the doctors.
So that day I took her toMethodist and her kidneys
weren't working Wow.
(10:15):
And the doctor said you got tohave a transplant.
And they moved her right intothe.
I mean, that day they moved herto the transplant ward.
William Carroll (10:25):
Now, did she
ever have a transplant?
No, no.
And how's she doing today?
Stephen Mccauley (10:32):
Oh she's,
she's 185 pounds and cooking her
head off.
William Carroll (10:38):
She's a good
cook too.
I heard she's an excellent cook, so as you can tell, with my
round face.
So after we prayed together andit was all of us listen, this is
what I'm trying to get thepoint over.
Y'all you know it wasn't me, Ijust happened to be the hands,
the feet and the mouth that went, because God said go.
(11:00):
I put feet, hands and a mouthand faith to all the prayers
that everybody was praying, andStephen, his sister-in-law, his
mother.
They were expecting becausethey were at the end of hope,
but they knew that if somethinghappened, it God had to do it,
(11:23):
because the doctors wasn't doinganything.
They were doing what they could.
Don't get me wrong, I believein doctors, but it was at the
end, wasn't it?
Stephen Mccauley (11:33):
Yeah, we were
at the end of our roads because
the only thing the doctors coulddo at that point was a kidney
or liver transplant.
But her kidneys and everythinghad started shutting down
because her liver had quitworking and we were running out
(11:58):
of time.
I mean just literally runningout of time.
William Carroll (12:14):
So, if you
don't mind, so, after we left,
you said that you knew God haddone something in that room.
I knew something happened, Ijust felt it.
But something happened in thatroom and so, if you can, can you
take us back, because you wasalso there with your
sister-in-law and yourmother-in-law.
What was their perspective atthat time, after the prayer, or
(12:37):
do you remember?
I don't know if you?
Stephen Mccauley (12:40):
We were just.
They were happy that y'all hadcame and prayed.
They kind of felt joyous aboutit.
But we didn't know at thatpoint, until the next day when
(13:02):
the doctors came in and run alltheir tests and said they
couldn't believe that there wasanything wrong with that point.
William Carroll (13:11):
Did you happen
to get the testified of the
doctors and tell them?
I know what happened.
Stephen Mccauley (13:17):
Well, I told
the doctors that y'all had came
in and prayed over, and it mustmust have been a miracle of God.
William Carroll (13:25):
It's a miracle,
all right.
You know, she was healed.
Amen, amen.
Now, how long ago was that?
That was what seven or eightyears ago, or?
Stephen Mccauley (13:37):
yeah about.
William Carroll (13:38):
It was right
before COVID, wasn't it?
Stephen Mccauley (13:40):
Yeah, it was
right, before COVID.
It was a year, maybe two yearsbefore COVID.
William Carroll (13:45):
Okay, okay, so
it was probably two seventeen to
eighteen, something like that, right, and look, and he said I
asked him before the broadcastand I asked him a few minutes
ago on here, how is she doingtoday?
And he said she's just cookingup a storm.
Stephen Mccauley (14:03):
Yeah, she's
healthy.
She's healthy.
She's great, she's getting around break.
She's wonderful.
I mean her attitude's changed.
I mean she's got a good outlookon life.
Yeah, yeah she's great.
William Carroll (14:20):
You know.
I tell you what.
So many times we don't.
We don't expect God to move.
You know you don't.
When you go to church, you needto go to church expecting God to
talk to you.
That day You've got to beexpecting all the time.
You know.
It reminds me in acts when, when Peter and Silas, I believe,
(14:43):
or Peter and John maybe don'tget me, you know, don't hold me
up here but they went.
They went into temple and therewas a guy that was laying at
the door of the temple andasking for alms and he turned to
him and he was asking for money, but he was expecting to
receive something the Word ofGod says.
(15:04):
And he and they said silver andgold, have our none, but what
we have.
In the name of Jesus Christ, wegive rise up, take your bed and
walk.
But but the thing, the keythere was they were expecting
something to happen.
And I guess, after I called andtold you we were coming and we
was coming to pray for you, wasthere a expectancy that started
(15:27):
kind of building at that time.
Yes, yeah.
Stephen Mccauley (15:32):
I was
expecting something.
Yeah, I don't know about mymother-in-law and my
mother-in-law and sister-in-law,but I was expecting something
to happen, because I had thewarriors on the way, so to speak
.
William Carroll (15:46):
Yeah, I had
some backup coming I mean you
know.
And he knew he knew us, he knewme and Janie, he knew Dennis and
he knew that that we you knowthat that we pray for people.
If God says go pray, well, evenif God don't say pray, we're
gonna pray.
You know, because we know thatGod hears our prayers and and it
(16:06):
says we're two or three orgathered there, he is in the
midst of them and, concerninganything, we ask that he'll do
it for us.
And we ask and we believe andwe had faith.
And I knew I wasn't set on myown commission, I wasn't going
to glorify me, I was going toglorify God because I knew God
(16:29):
said go pray for her.
Stephen Mccauley (16:31):
You know when
you gather in his name.
William Carroll (16:33):
I mean there he
is.
He's there, man.
He's there and he's listeningand he knew what she needed.
You know, see, the whole thingis, god wants to be glorified in
the earth.
He wants us, us as Christians.
Should you know?
Listen, I tell everybody allthe time the book of the Acts.
There's no ending at the bookof Acts.
(16:55):
The reason is we're stillwriting the books of Acts.
You know, it's not the Acts ofApostles.
What we're really writing isthe Acts of the believers in
Christ.
But so many of us, you know, webelieve.
Well, god, don't do that today, brother, don't you think that
was a coincidence?
You know, and we believe thatI'm gonna tell you, stephen
(17:17):
knows for a fact that thatwasn't a coincidence, that God
sent us there.
You know, it wasn't acoincidence that God hands was
on us, see, because me myselfand I, I'm nothing without
Christ, without His Holy Spirit.
But it says, stephen, that thesame spirit that raised Jesus
(17:37):
from the dead lives in us, notjust me, it lives in you.
But you were so down, see, sometimes, when somebody gets
sick in our family, we get sodown and we lose faith, we lose
hope because of the situationwe're looking at, because of
what the doctors are saying tous, and people need somebody to
(17:57):
pray.
And then when God says, go, yougo, you go and you pray and you
believe oh brother, but what ifshe would have died?
Well, you know what?
This is what I say about that.
I knew, because God wanted meto go pray, that she wasn't
gonna die.
But if she would have died, shewould have been completely
healed never to die again.
(18:18):
You know, and that's not a copout, people, that's a promise
from God no tears, no sickness,no pain.
You know, and sometimes peopleget to a point where it is
better for them to, but we don'tknow that.
Only God knows that.
But God said no, no, he saidMiss Kim gonna raise up off this
bed, that's right.
(18:38):
And she did, she did, and youknow it's made, hadn't it made
you a prayer warrior too?
And testify, he testifies, heshares the word of God with
people.
Stephen Mccauley (18:49):
It made me a
different person altogether and
it's helped me in the charitylight ministry.
Yeah, I mean I have been moreactive.
William Carroll (19:00):
More active in
the charity light.
You know, and we're what we'reprobably gonna do when I see the
time is running out.
Is there anything else youwould like to share about that
situation before we wrap it up?
Stephen Mccauley (19:13):
I don't think
so.
The only thing I'd like toshare is to believe.
You've got to believe.
William Carroll (19:21):
You gotta
believe.
You gotta believe, listen, andStephen, thank you for being
here.
We're going to do another onein just a few minutes and we're
going to be talking about thechariot slide.
I believe, if God, if God letsus, and I believe that's what
he's laid on my heart.
But listen, if you're out thereand you've got sick ones, you
got loved ones that are sick, and the doctors have said,
(19:44):
listen, the doctors don't know.
I'm telling you, the doctorsknow what they see, what they
know by their tests, but thedoctors are not God.
And God knows how many days youhave.
You know, it says in thescripture that God knows every
hair on your head.
Now, listen, I want to tell youhow every hair on your head is.
No, he doesn't know when.
(20:04):
He knows when one falls off.
But guess what, stephen?
He knows the number because thehairs on your head are numbered
.
So he knows if number 2000falls out, it's number 2000.
It's just not a hair to him.
See, god knows us, he loves usand my God and your God can do
(20:24):
anything.
You know.
He can raise up somebody off ofa bed of affliction, like he
raised your wife up, you know.
And nobody can go to him.
I guarantee you People can't goto him and say it was a cold
incident.
Brother, god don't work likethat today.
They can't tell him that, theycan't tell me that.
And, like again, I'm not tryingto glorify myself at all
(20:48):
because it wasn't me.
I can only do what God tells meto do.
And if he says pray, I go andpray.
And I want to tell you he justput feet.
I want to tell you this againhe put feet, hands in the mouth,
and me and the others that camewith me, and even Stephen, when
we prayed, he put us togetherand we embodied the prayers of
(21:11):
everybody praying.
You see, it's not about me,it's not about us, it's not
about those who go and pray.
It's about giving God the glory, because God is the healer.
His word in Hebrews 13 and 8says he's the same yesterday,
today and forever.
(21:31):
And I'm going to wrap up withthis.
No, I'm not going to wrap upwith that.
But in Mark 16, at the end ofthe chapter, it says Go into all
the world and preach the gospel, and them that believe, these
signs shall follow.
You know, they shall take upserpents, they shall eat.
If they eat any deadly thing,it shall not harm them and they
(21:53):
shall lay hands on the sick andthey shall recover.
And that word recover meansfull well, they're going to
recover.
They're going to start today, and I mean it started like the
next day.
Well, it had to start in herbody that day for them to run
the test and the next day totake her off All that stuff, you
(22:15):
know.
And then she recovered.
It took a little while for herto learn to walk.
You know that happens.
But listen, our God is that God.
If you don't know that God,romans 10 and 9 says that if you
believe in your heart thatJesus Christ is the Son of God
and you confess him with yourmouth, you shall be saved.
(22:35):
So if you don't know Christtoday, you need to believe on
him.
You need to believe with yourheart that he is.
See, he's the one that raisedhis wife off of her bed of
affliction and healed her body.
You know, and God does thatevery day, but we don't give him
the glory and we don't do it.
We don't see it as much as weshould see it because we don't
(22:57):
have Christians that believe andhave faith that God will do it
and put feet to the prayers ofeverybody praying.
You know, and Stevens learnedto put feet to those prayers.
I'm going to tell you, and we'regoing to talk about that in a
few minutes.
But listen, pray this prayerafter me if you don't know.
Jesus, lord, jesus, come intomy heart.
Be the Lord of my life.
(23:20):
I believe that you died on thecross and shed your blood for me
.
Lord, I confess you as my Lordin safety.
Change my life.
Pour your spirit into me inJesus's name, amen.
(23:42):
Now you pray that prayer andI'm telling you, wherever you
are, god honors that prayer.
You know, and I've seen it timeand time again, because some of
you are out there and yourheart was pumping, your heart
was getting.
You know, you felt God moving, but you didn't know how to be
born again.
See, that is a prayer thatmakes you born again.
(24:05):
You're born again, you're bornof God.
Now and learn his word, learnhis ways, take him out of that
dead gum box and get into arelationship with Jesus Until
next time.
This is William Carroll, andI'm signing off this podcast
with my guest, my brother Steven, and thank you so much, steven,
(24:28):
for being here.
Thank you for sharing that, andwe're going to do another one.
Y'all, y'all stay tuned.
