William Carroll (00:01):
Good morning.
Welcome to Faith Walk withWilliam Carroll.
In this podcast you will hearabout the testimonies that God
have given me through my life,as I trusted him, walked with
him and the things that he hasdone in my life and the life of
other people around me.
See God.
We put God in a box.
(00:21):
We want to take God out of thebox.
So as we go through thisjourney, I hope it encourages
you, it lifts you up, itinspires you to believe God, to
take him at his word, to standon his word, to get in his word
and find out for yourself.
Is what the word of God says istrue?
All right.
(00:42):
So a couple of podcasts ago wewere talking about a hitchhiker.
We were talking about how wepicked him up and then we talked
about the young lady in theyard.
And on this podcast we want totalk about I want to tell you a
story of a testimony that I wasworking at the fire department.
(01:05):
I'd got off at seven in themorning, I was headed to
Carthage, I was headed to churchand I had a jeep at that time
and it was in the summertime.
There was no, it wasn't raining, it wasn't hot.
It was a nice morning, at seveno'clock in the morning, and I
(01:27):
was just driving down the road,I had my Christian music going,
like a lot of us do sometimes.
I'm just praising God, justworshiping God, just singing to
him, you know, and I'm justshouting praises, hallelujah,
going down the road and I comeup to the airport.
The road I was on teed into theairport and there was a loop
(01:50):
around the airport so I had toturn left to right.
When I got to that stop sign, man, I had my music jamming.
You know, jesus is playing, youknow, and there was a guy that
was walking and he this is inthe middle of nowhere, so he'd
come up walking and he said, hesaid hey, man.
(02:10):
He said can I have a ride?
And I said, well, where are yougoing?
He said Henderson.
I said Okay.
I said no.
I said I'm sorry man.
I said I'm going to Carthageand he said, oh, man.
He said Well, okay, he said Iunderstand, and so he started,
he started heading out and, just, you know, he crossed in front
(02:32):
of me and kept, kept walking byand I took off and I'm back
praising God, worshiping him.
Oh hey, thank you, jesus.
You know, and right in themiddle of my worship and my
praise of him, I heard this inmy spirit.
It was distinct in my spirit.
You wouldn't have heard it ifyou was there, but I heard it
(02:55):
and I knew the voice and that itsaid he said this was the Lord
speaking to my heart.
He said If I have time for you, you've got time for him.
And, man, it cut me to thequick, you know.
And so I, I pulled over to theright, I pulled over in the
(03:16):
ditch, I pulled a U E, you know.
And I pulled up and stoppedright next to this guy and I
said hey, man, where are yougoing?
He said Henderson, I said.
I said Hop in.
He said Well, I thought you wasgoing to Carthage.
I said yeah, I said I am, I'mgoing to Carthage by way of
(03:37):
Henderson.
And he kind of looked at mefunny because he didn't know
what to think and, and you know,he kind of thought there's
something going on in there.
I said Come on, man, you'll beall right, hop in.
So he hopped in.
We're going down the road and Isaid hey, man, what are you
doing out on the road at sevenin the morning?
I, there's, there's nobody outSunday morning man, I said
(04:00):
what's up?
And he said well, he said lastnight he said my cousin, come
over to my house.
And he said let's go over hereto this bar In in Longview.
And he says he's a man, Ididn't want to go.
He said I didn't want to go.
He said that's no place for me,I shouldn't have gone, he said.
But I went with him and he saysyou know, my cousin, he, he met
(04:23):
this old gal over there andNext thing I know he left and he
left me over there, him and herleft and he said I hadn't seen
him.
I waited until the club Shutdown, which was about 2 am In
the morning, and he said I'vebeen walking since 2 am In the
morning to get here where I'm at.
(04:43):
And he said you know that'sscamp, he, you know he started
really dogging his cousin.
Really bad, you know.
He said.
You know he let me down.
You know he, he told me onething and he did something else.
And boy, he was just going on.
He was mad, rightly so right.
If somebody left you and youhad to walk and it was about 30,
(05:04):
30 to 40 miles that you had towalk you'd have been mad too,
right, you counted on your.
You didn't want to go.
Your cousin said come on, let'sgo.
And you said he badgered you To.
You said okay, and you went andhe left and ran off with some
old gal, right.
And I looked at him and, man, hewas getting more and more round
(05:25):
up, you know, and he wasStarting to let some flavorful
word goes and I'm just sayinguh-huh, yeah, yes, sir, I
understand what you're saying,yes, sir.
And then I looked at him and Isaid, uh, let me ask you a
question.
He said what's that?
I said uh, I Said you know.
I said your friends will letyou down, don't you?
(05:46):
He said, yeah, yeah, theyalways do.
They'll let you down when you, when you need them the most.
And I said, in your cousin, helet you down, didn't he?
Yeah, he let me down, and afamily will let you down.
He said you can't count onfamily, you can't count on your
friends.
They'll always let you down.
The first time you think that, that they want, that is when
(06:07):
they'll let you down.
He said man, I'm so tired offamily, I'm so tired of friends.
He says you know, it's justbetter to stay off by yourself
and and stay alone.
And and I said yeah, I saidwell, okay.
I said you know, let me ask youa question as it, um, I Did you
know that there is a friend thatstick closer than the brother?
And he looked at me and he saidwhat I said yes, we have a
(06:30):
friend that stick closer than abrother.
And I said that's Jesus Christ.
And I mean the look on his face.
He turned white almost and hestarted saying he said oh, I
knew you was a man of God.
I knew you as a man of God.
Nobody would pick me up.
You wouldn't even gonna pick meup.
(06:51):
I said well, brother, let metell you something.
I said the only reason I pickedyou up is because I was
worshiping God.
I was going to church.
I pulled out.
You saw me here in the other wayand I was just saying thank you
Lord, thank you Lord, that Iget to go to church, thank you,
lord, that you just lead andguide me.
I praise your holy name.
And in the middle of that theLord said if I have time for you
(07:13):
, you have time for him.
And I said I hit the ditch.
I said I threw dirt up grass up, making a U turn and I said and
I come straight here and pickedyou up, and he said oh man, I
know you as a God.
I said, listen, it's not aboutme being a man of God, it's
about that.
God knew where you were at thistime in the morning.
It wasn't a coincidence that heput you across my path.
(07:37):
It wasn't a coincidence that Icame across your path because it
was ordained of God.
God knew what you needed, godknew where you were and God knew
what I needed Because you know, listen, people, sometimes we
get stuck in ourself and, oh, wegot to do it, we got to go to
church, we got to go to anengineer, we got to do this, we
got to do that.
(07:57):
And it's all about me, me, me,me, me, and you know, and we do
this all the time and we thinkthat it's so important that we
have something to do that wehave to go do something for God
when God places people rightaround us that he wants us to
minister and we miss it.
See, this is what I'm talkingabout.
We need to get God out of thebox.
(08:19):
We are his hands, we are hisfeet, we are his mouth.
Actually, you know, there's aprayer that I pray every morning
and it says Father, in the nameof Jesus, open my eyes to see
what you see, open my ears tohear what you hear, open my
heart to feel what you feel.
And, lord, open my mouth tospeak what you speak.
(08:43):
And ever since I've startedpraying that prayer, I start
seeing people.
We got to stop seeing people andjudging people.
The way we normally judgepeople is this this is what we
do, okay, we say, well, ooh, yeah, I see him, I see him.
But we gloss over our sins.
(09:04):
But we say, look at old Johnny, man, I ain't ever done that man
, I'm not as bad as Johnny.
And the fact is, the 613commandments in the Bible,
there's thou shalt not andthere's thou shalt do.
So there's commandments to doand commandments not to do.
And it says the scripture saysif we offend in one one of these
(09:26):
, we're guilty of all.
So if we fail in one thing,we're guilty of all.
Oh, and you say well, you know,I think that murders the worst
sin, do you?
Do you think it's murders theworst sin?
You know, god says that there'sno place in heaven for liars,
none at all.
You're an abomination.
(09:46):
So in the law.
If you failed one part of thelaw, if you're living under the
law, you're guilty of the law.
And what does it say in Romans?
It says the raises of sin, thewages of sin, is death.
So the payment for sin is death.
But guess what?
Jesus Christ came to give uslife.
(10:08):
So I was talking to the man andlisten.
Proverbs 18, 24 says a man thathas friends must show himself
friendly.
If you don't have no friends,it's because you're not being a
friend to other people, you'renot friendly.
And it also says that there isa friend that sticks closer than
a brother.
Jesus is that friend thatsticks closer than a brother.
(10:29):
You know, and we're going to go.
I want to read this right quickIn 2 Corinthians.
2 Corinthians 5 in 17 is whereI'm going to start.
It says therefore, if any manbe in Christ, he is a new
creature, a new.
Old things are passed away.
(10:49):
Behold, all things have becomenew, all things are of God, who
have reconciled us to himself byJesus Christ, and they have
given unto us the ministry ofreconciliation.
So if we be a new creature, anew creature created in Christ,
(11:10):
then old things are passed awayand, behold, all things are new
All things are of God, who havereconciled us to Jesus Christ,
and he had given us the ministryof reconciliation.
So this guy needed a friend.
He needed a friend and God putme there.
And as I began to speak and asI began to tell him that God
(11:32):
loved him and that God was withhim and that God knew he was
there, and God had me pick himup Cause I wasn't going to.
I was going to church, man, Ithought I was fixing to go have
a bless me party at church, right, and God wanted me to
bless somebody else.
So we drove to Henderson.
It was about a 30 minute rideand I just kept sharing with him
(11:54):
scripture and the continents ofhis face and of his laughter.
It just was man, it was justoverwhelming.
It was so sweet because God hadtouched his heart.
What the devil meant for evil.
God had made it good, god madeit good, and so so I pulled up.
(12:17):
I pulled up.
He says, hey, this, you can letme off right here.
I live right down the street.
I said, well, I'll take you ifyou want me to.
He said, no, you don't have to.
I live right behind thisbuilding, right here.
And he said I'll just.
He said I just will go.
And I said all right.
So I pulled over and he saidman, thank you for picking me up
.
I said you don't need to thankme, you need to thank God, I
said, because without God Iwouldn't have picked you up.
(12:38):
I said because I was going toget blessed myself, you know,
and I would have missed theblessing that I had to share
with you, jesus.
And I said listen to me.
I said right now.
I said I need to ask you aquestion, I said.
I said I said do you know JesusChrist is your Lord and Savior?
And he said yes, I do.
I said and have you beenfollowing him?
(13:00):
Have you been walking with himor are you close to him?
And he said well, I reallyhaven't been serving him.
And I said okay.
I said so you need to get right, don't you?
And he said yes, he said I do.
I said you need to repent forwhat you've been doing and you
need to commit yourself a freshanew unto the Lord and you need
(13:21):
to ask him to come back intoyour heart, to stir you up, to
send the Holy Spirit to lead andguide you.
He said yes, I do.
I said do you like, want to dothat right now?
He said, yes, I do, yes, I do.
And I said okay.
So I grabbed his hand and Isaid pray after me, lord Jesus.
And he said, lord Jesus.
I said, come into my heart, come into my heart, restore me,
(13:44):
renew me.
Lord, I used to follow you, butI've fallen away from you, lord
, I need to surrender my lifeunto you again and I need to
serve you.
Send the Holy Spirit to stir meup, to be my leader, to be my
comforter, to be my guide, toteach me all things that are
yours, lord and Jesus' name.
(14:05):
And he prayed that prayer andhe just he got out of the Jeep
and he'd walk two steps and Iwould get ready, I'd put it in
gear and he'd come back and he'dsay, man, thank you, I knew you
was a man of God.
I knew you was a man of God,thank you, thank you.
And I said, man, don't thank me, thank Jesus, thank Jesus,
thank Jesus, because it wasn'tme, I wasn't gonna pick you up.
(14:29):
It was Jesus in me that stirredme to turn around and to come
pick you up.
You see, people, we got to quitbeing all about me.
See, the church is not a blessme church.
The church we don't.
We go to church to learn theword of God, that we might take
it out to the streets, thepeople that are out in streets,
and we might share the word ofGod to those that are in the
(14:51):
streets, you know, to share themat work, to share them at
school, to share them in thestore.
You know, god always hassomebody for us to share it to.
We've got to be bold enough todo it All right.
So let's go back to thisscripture right quick.
It says in 17,.
It says, therefore, if any manbe in Christ, he is a new
(15:11):
creature.
Old things are passed away.
Old things have passed away.
Behold, all things become new.
All things are of God, who hasreconciled us.
That means he made us, he gaveus right standing with God to
himself.
He reconciled us to himself.
He reconciled us to himself byJesus Christ and has given us
(15:34):
the ministry of reconciliationby the death on the cross.
That Jesus did.
He paid the price for us and hereconciled us to God through
his sacrifice on the cross.
And then he gave to us who's us, us that are saved, us that are
(15:54):
believed, us that walk withChrist, us that claim to be
Christians and claim to love God.
He's given us the ministry ofreconciliation.
The ministry of reconciliation.
Oh, let's go ahead and read 2Corinthians 5 and 19.
It says to wit To me this meansto witness, to witness that God
(16:16):
was in Christ.
God was in Christ, reconcilingthe world unto himself, not
imputing their trespasses untohim, and he committed unto us
the word of reconciliation.
So God was in Christ when hereconciled us to God, not
(16:41):
imputing our trespasses thatmeans not counting our
trespasses against us, becausehe paid the price for our
trespasses and he committed untous the word of reconciliation.
So God gave to us the words ofreconciliation.
Now, 2 Corinthians 5 and 20.
Now we are ambassadors forChrist, as though God did
(17:05):
beseech you by us.
We pray you in Christ stead.
Be reconciled to God, for hemade him who Christ.
He made Christ to be sin for uswho knew no sin.
Christ knew no sin.
He paid the price.
He was the ultimate sacrifice, the only sacrifice that we might
be made, the righteousness ofGod in him.
(17:27):
Look, I'm no longer.
I'm no longer just sinner, saved by grace.
Quit saying that.
You need to stop saying thatyou was a sinner, but now you're
saved by grace.
And writing 2 Corinthians 5 and19,.
I mean 5 and 20, it says 5 and21,.
I'm sorry, for he has made himto be sin for us.
He made Jesus to be sin for us,who knew no sin.
(17:49):
Jesus knew no sin that we mightbe made the righteousness of
God in Christ.
Listen, jesus paid the price.
He paid the price for sin.
Now I am the righteousness ofGod in Christ.
I'm not an old sinner, saved bygrace.
No, that man is dead.
Now I have the ministry ofreconciliation.
(18:10):
Okay, so now I am in 25 and 20,he says ambassador for Christ.
Listen, what does an ambassadordo?
If we have an ambassador forthe United States and they are
in, let's just say, israel, okay, so they're in Israel.
So when something happens orsomething needs to be done, the
(18:33):
ambassador goes to theambassador of Israel and they
sit down, they talk and theambassador speaks.
When he speaks, our ambassadorfrom the USA speaks to the
ambassador of the other country, whoever it is, and he says that
we will do this.
(18:53):
This is what we will do.
He's talking for the UnitedStates.
Do you know?
He has the authority as anambassador of the United States
behind him.
Whatever he says, as long asit's the policies of the United
States, he speaks for the UnitedStates because the authority is
behind him.
(19:14):
The United States is gonnauphold his word.
Now listen, we're ambassadorsfor Christ.
That means when we speak theword of God and we minister to
people like I did, that man thatI picked up that the whole word
of heaven and power of heavenis behind me as an ambassador of
Christ.
Why?
Because Jesus paid the pricefor sin and now I am an
(19:37):
ambassador for the kingdom ofheaven and when I speak forth
the word of God, all heaven willback it up.
Do you understand?
It's not what I say or what Iwant, but it's what the word of
God says.
That's why we gotta learn theword of God, we gotta be fed the
word of God, we gotta stay inthe word of God and we gotta
know the word of God and wegotta be led by his Holy Spirit.
(20:00):
When we're led by the Spirit ofGod, then we have the power and
authority of God himself fromheaven and Jesus Christ, our
Lord, back in us.
So when we say, rise up, takethat bed and walk, then it'll
take up that bed and walk, justlike the girl in the hospital.
On the last one that I spokeabout, me and her prayed because
(20:22):
we both believed God would domiracles.
God did a miracle.
He raised her up and he senther out of that hospital room 30
minutes, when she usually staysa week.
Listen, listen.
If you didn't listen to thelast podcast, listen to it, go
back, listen to it.
I'm feeding you some good wordshere, but I'm not gonna baby,
(20:42):
I'm not gonna baby spoon you.
I'm not gonna bait.
I'm not gonna go to everyscripture I I tell you about or
because I want you to get inthere and I want you to dig in
there.
I want you to find out is itreal?
Is the word of God real whenyou know in your heart?
It's real when you know in yourheart that you can speak the
word of God and God will movebecause you're an ambassador to
(21:02):
God, you're an ambassador toheaven and you have the ministry
of reconciliation.
What is that?
That is, telling everybody thatJesus Christ Recognize them to
God, that they no longer have tolive in their sin, they no
longer have to live in theIndistitution away from God,
(21:23):
they don't have to be controlledby sin and by their flesh Right
.
All right, listen, I'm fixingto get off of here.
I just want to tell you this isFaith walk, william Carroll.
And listen, you can write me,email me at Faith walk, 1960.
And that's number.
Faith walk one nine six, oh.
(21:45):
Faith walk one nine six, oh, atOutlookcom.
Faith walk one nine six, oh, atOutlookcom.
And listen, I hope y'all startgetting the idea that, look, our
God is the same God, yesterday,in the day, yesterday, today
(22:05):
and forever.
Our God is the same God.
He's the same God that thatwent before the children of
Israel in the desert, when aPillar of fire at night and the
cloud by day.
He's that same God and he'll doit.
For you see, start believinghim.
This, quit playing church.
Okay, y'all need to quitplaying church.
(22:25):
We all do, including me.
God tells me a lot of timesyou're just playing church.
You know when I have to getfired back up, all right.
So let's quit playing churchand let's be about our father's
business, because we serve amighty God and he's bigger than
any giant.
He's bigger than anything.
Our God can do all things andnothing is impossible with God.
(22:49):
If we believe in his word, speak his word and walk out his
word in Jesus's name.
Until next time, take God outof the box and try him.
He will show you that he is andhe is a rewarder of those who
diligently seek him.
Until next time, god bless you.
(23:10):
Jesus loves you.
