We're actually going going to be, well, in the spirit of Valentine's Day,
we're going to be talking about something super lighthearted and just so fun.
If you all are having a Valentine's date or you're thinking about who your date
is going to be, if you're going to do a friend date, if you're going to do like

a whole Galentine situation, or if you're going to do a self-care day or whatever.
So as we prepare for Valentine's Day, I feel like preparation is a thing for
Valentine's Day. Maybe it's just me, but we're going to have a lot of Valentine's
Day themed episodes, but this can really be used whenever.
So this is super fun and I'm so excited to share with you all the 10 timeless,

most elegant nail colors that you should try.
And no matter what age you are, no matter what skin tone, what race,
what shade, these are my staple nail colors. colors and let's just take it back to the back.
Y'all know I have to give y'all background information before we get into these
colors because each color has a story and I'm really going to describe each color to you all.

It has taken me years to really compile this list of 10 nail colors.

So just the of background information with me and Nels.
One, I wanted to do this episode because even if you aren't a Nel person and
how we're going into like that girl for this year and just being more elegant
and refining ourselves, there's always room for growth.
With that is our appearance. And as a woman, our appearance,

no matter if it is our hair, our nails, our feet, our clothes,
our confidence that we are exuding.
I had talked about confidence a bit on TikTok and we're going to be exploring that as well. But...
Nails have a huge thing to do with it because when you meet someone,
the first thing you kind of look at is like what they have on their face.
But a lot of men, believe it or not, look at women's nails, like more than the average.

And even if it's not about a man, it's about yourself because you do a lot of
things with your hands, right?
You're touching things every day. You're looking at your hands.
You're talking with your hands with those nonverbal communication skills that we've talked about.
So keeping up with your nails and making sure that you look timeless and elegant

and a way to be budget friendly is to pick things that are going to go with
no matter what you have on.
All of these colors in this list that I have compiled will go with no matter
what you have on, no matter what skin tone you are, no matter what age you are.
And on top of that, if you are short on cash or you might not have the funds
available to get your nails done every two weeks, you can stretch this out for a month.

Not only that, you can also buy these colors in your own polish or gel sets.
They don't have to be acrylic or dip powder. However, the colors are available
with gel polish, regular polish, dip powder, and everything in between.
You can use them on your real nail beds.
You can use them on acrylics. You can use them with doing SNS.
It doesn't matter. This is literally for everyone.

So let's get right into it. These are are in no particular order.
The first one is the most popular shade.
I think this is actually the second most popular shade in OPI and this is the shade Bubble Bath.
Bubble Bath is such a playful feminine shade.
I'm not sure how it got the name. However, this is a very kind of light opaque playful pink.

I do recommend three shades of the color if you want to have more of a color
and less of like a nude effect.
And I do have some like mix and match cheat codes that you can try next time
you go to the nail salon or Target to buy these polishes.
Bubble bath is, I want to say, one of OPI's most famous color.
Every nail salon is always fully stocked and usually has more than one bottle of bubble bath.

So if you're trying someplace new, you can just call it by its name.
They are going to know exactly what you're talking about.
Bubble bath is also a color, no matter if you keep your nails long or short
it's not going to be too see-through however like I said I do recommend three
coats of it y'all know if y'all follow me on Instagram and everything I have had,

from extendo nails to very short nails to medium nails. I love to just switch
up my look. So try out Bubble Bath.
The next shade is going to be called Put It In Neutral and that is by OPI.
Put It In Neutral is a less pink, it has less pink undertones.
It's definitely very much neutral.
Put It In Neutral is a, that is the name of it because it is neutral, girly.

It is suitable for every skin tone and it is opaque though.
So if your nail tips are longer than your nail beds, it can kind of be see-through
and it can also create this like ombre effect though. I think it's really pretty still.
I've posted it numerous times with my story and you can also see pictures for

So yeah, if you have longer nail beds, it's going
to have this ombre effect because of
the opaqueness of the color but whenever I do
get this shade my nails are long it creates the effect
and I do get a lot of compliments on this on this
shade the first time I got this shade I wanted to do
something plain because I was getting I used to
spend like hundreds of plus dollars on my nails I had the

marble the pearls the like
I had the cardi b nails the extendo long and
I was like you know what I want to try something completely opposite and I
decided to opt into this super neutral color and I
just felt like it was so plain because it was not something I was used
to and then I got compliments on it and I'm like
what people are liking my nail like this is just so plain but

it's so it's such a classic timeless look and it's not a rich color I do suggest
mixing it with another color to make it less like opaque or vibrant you can
use put it in neutral as a top coat so if you are wanting to try something else
that is not on this list but the color is too too vibrant for you,
try put it in neutral on top of the color and it will kind of tone down.

It's, oh my gosh, like I love it. The next color is.
Probably the most sold color by OPI, and that is Funny Bunny.
Now, let me tell you, babes, Miss Funny Bunny is a staple.
Funny Bunny is a white color. It's not white like snow. It's not like an alpaint. It's not super white.

However, this color is, it's like, it has a bit opaqueness to it,
a creamy, I was about to say a creamy texture, a creaminess to it that is very hard hard to describe.
Funny Bunny looks good on anyone's skin tone. It is such a beautiful white color.
Even you could do two, you can do three coats if you want to.
I do like if you were to do two coats of Funny Bunny because you don't want

it to look as bright because then it just looks like you have white nail polish on.
The only thing about Funny Bunny is that if you are a girly that wears a lot
of makeup, if you're putting on makeup every day, especially if you you are
a darker complexion, Funny Bunny does stain.
So if you're wearing this color, you may have to change out your nail color
quicker than others depending on what type you are getting.

So if you're getting Funny Bunny in just a polish or even a gel polish,
you're going to have to change it out.
You cannot keep Miss Mama's for over a month.
If you want Funny Bunny and you know you're going to want her for a while,
I do suggest getting the actual powdered color so it it stays that way.
And then you can just use some acetone nail polish if it decides it wants to stain.

I know there's like an old saying, because y'all know I'm from the South,
and we always used to say no white after Labor Day. And the girlies live by that, okay?
They swear by that rule, even though I'm pretty sure the rule just talks about clothing.
But white nails after Labor Day, it might be a stretch for some of the girlies, which is totally okay.
So just be aware of when when you are using Miss Funny Bunny and where you are going.

Next is, oh my goodness, this is a shade that I absolutely love.
It is so playful. It's so feminine.
Guys love this shade and it is called Mod About You.
Fun fact, though. I went to the nail salon one day and I requested Mod About You.
And when the nail tech was putting the shade on my hands, I was looking at it

and I told her, oh, no, can I please have Mod About You? And she goes, this is it.
Now, I look at her. I look at the nail. I look at her and I'm like,
this is not Mod About You.
I know Mod About You when you see it. I've been using Mod About You since I was in high school.
And I was like this is not what it looks like this is very this is like this is very pink,

and she's like yeah I know and she
shared with me that OPI actually changed the colors I don't know who decided
that they were going to wake up and choose violence in OPI's office but OPI
has actually changed a lot of their nail colors without changing the name so
they changed the the actual color, but they kept the name the same.

This is not the only shade that it has happened to. There's another nail shade
that's on this list it has happened to as well.
However, I will say we don't know exactly what year they changed Mod About You.
But Mod About You, I did some digging. I'm like, it had to be from at least
2016 to 2017, 18, they've changed Mod About You.

Really 2015 I will say from 2015 to like 2018 somewhere in between that they
were phasing out some shades and just changing the colors and keeping the name the same but.
Whatever mod about you is still a beautiful shade The old mod about you is very
light and if you know what i'm talking about I do have another shade on the
list this next up that resembles the old mod about you However,

this new mod about you is very vibrant.
It's not like super light None of these nail colors are like in your face neon colors,
of course But it reminds me of like a ballerina pink You know the types of tutus
that ballerinas have or like their pink shoes or like the tights that type of
pink pink. It's so soft. It's girly.
Like it's just, I love it. The guys love it. It's just, it's just a lighthearted color.

You can definitely wear this at any time of the year, but it's definitely perfect
when spring is coming or summer is coming.
Hey, if you're going on a trip and it's in the middle of winter,
I still will wear Mod About You because who doesn't like pink?
Next on the list is Almost Like the Old Mod About You. I ended up changing my shade that day.
I was in the nail salon this color is also a

really good color if you want to stay away from white
toes because it's like okay it's getting super basic now i
kind of want to switch it up the color is called let's be
friends and it's by opi as well let's be
friends resembles the old mod about you it is a
very it has a it's a white with a pink hue
and it is ever so lightly if you're

not a type of girly that is into details you could confuse this
color with the white because like i said like it literally has
a a pink hue the nail polish is white and they just put one drop of pink into
it so if you want to try something on your toes this is typically something
that I would try on my toes if I don't want to do white but I want to spice
it up a bit but I still want a light color let's be friends is the perfect.

Color to try I will say because let's be friends is so light it also will stain
if you wear a ton of makeup.
So get it in a gel polish or in the powder.
If you are using it in a gel polish and you have it on your hands cured,
I want to tell you that if it starts to stain, you can use acetone nail polish

remover. Not too much though.
You don't want to remove the polish. Just brush it over ever so slightly.
And you can also really like put a napkin, put some Dawn dish soap or something
and wipe your nails as well after every time you put on your makeup.
But I don't think think this color will last a month on your
hands without it getting a little dark from

being from having makeup on it on your toes of course
on your hands maybe not next color
on the list is called bear my soul now this is by opi and i want you to listen
very carefully bear my soul is not a pink hue no pink undertones it is very
very neutral okay this girl bears

her soul there's no secrets to this nail polish and it is very opaque.
This shade is great if you wear short nails. If your nails do not pass your
nail beds that much, this shade is perfect.
You can wear it by itself, no matter what skin tone, what age you are.
I will say this is a really good shade if you have like a younger daughter or
like a younger niece that you're taking to the nail salon and you don't want

her to look too grown like back in the day, right?
I don't know. Who said that red was grown? I don't know. Anyway,
you don't want her to look too grown.
This is the perfect shade to give like a toddler when they're getting their
nails done. It's still cute though.
This nail color has a bit of glitter to it, and you can only see the shimmer.
I wouldn't even call it glitter. Let me not even call it that. It's a shimmer.

You can only see the shimmer when the sun hits your nails. So it's very, very slight.
The cheat code for Bare My Soul is that if you were to do two coats of Bubble
Bath and one coat of Bare My Soul before you do the top coat, you will thank me later.
Later I have this on my nails right now and I've

posted it and I went on a date last week no
not even last week I went on a date a couple days ago and the guy was like oh
he put out his hand so I can put my hand in his and he said I love your nails
these look very nice and I'm just like oh thank you a way to my heart is to
compliment how I smell or my nails or my makeup because why not it just made me feel so mushy.

If you are feeling real adventurous, you can definitely put this on top of Funny Bunny.
Now, of course, because it has a neutral brown hue to it, it's going to tone
down the white in Funny Bunny and make it more of an off-white.
But don't forget, it does have the shimmer, so it looks really good when the sun hits your hands.
The next shade is for the creamy, rich girlies.

Now, this one, I literally just took off my nails a couple days ago when I got
the ones I just told you about.
And this is Terre Mousseau for two. I love
the name of this shade and whenever someone asks
me what I have on my nails and I tell them this they say oh that's
such a cute name like can I get paid to name
nail polish colors like why not hello how do
you even get into that but anyway so it's one of the creamiest news on this
(15:38):
list two coats of this color and it's lovely you do not need three coats of
this it is not opaque at all so the length of your nails do not matter it's
not going to create that ombre effect it will it will appear the same shade
no matter how long your nails are.
No pink undertones here. It is almost like, what can I compare it to? Just like a really nude.

It's darker than an oatmeal, but it's of course in the shades of brown, if that makes sense.
If you are a darker complexion, this will appear lighter than you want.
However, it still looks very good. And it's also a color, If you are a dark-skinned
woman, like if you're a nice chocolate woman listening to this podcast right
now, try that color on your feet. You will thank me later.

Taramisu for two by OPI is such a great color.
And you can skip out on the nail salon or redoing your nails for two weeks.
You can stretch this one out for a month, girl, and it will be nobody's business.
Your nails won't even look that crazy, child.
After that is a sister to bare my soul. And this one is called Bear With Me.

Bear With Me is not by OPI, surprisingly.
Most of the shades on this list are by OPI. However, this one is by Kiera Sky.
This is a beige nail polish, and it is not boring at all.
It is very creamy. It looks beautiful. It's smooth.
It's natural against your skin tone, and you can also use this as a top coat.

However, I will say this color is not as opaque as you may think it is.
Is concert like comparison to the name I feel
like bear with me you would think that this color is a little
opaque almost like put it in neutral but it's not I
would say bear with me is like put it in neutral without it
being opaque so it doesn't matter how long your nails are you can put this on
there's no shimmer to this one at all like bear my soul that has some shimmer

you can put this on and it will not look ombre this is another color that is
perfect for if If you're taking a toddler out as well to get their nails done
or your little sister or whomever to get their nails done,
this is an all-age friendly shade by Kiera Sky.
I will say a lot of nail salons do have this color, but if they don't,

you can also ask for put it in neutral and just know that it may be a little
opaque depending on how long your nails are.
The second to last shade reminds me just like the name.
It is called Cheeky and it's by Kiera Sky. guy it
is very playful and it's a beautiful color to try
with bear with me you could mix them together if you want to
if you're not a girly who is detailed oriented you

might need to like clarify on these two because you can mix it with bear with
me or bear my soul if you want a little shimmer this is a flesh tone color but
it has a little pink to it and depending on your your complexion the pink may
show up differently I think this is a color that goes with anyone and And depending
on your skin tone, it pulls out different colors.
It's just such a chameleon, I feel like.

It may look more pink or it may look more nude. It is a very safe option.
The difference between this color and some of the other pinks that I have in
here is that this is a pinky color with more of a neutral tone than it is more of a white tone.
So like Let's Be Friends and Mod About You, that's going to be more of white
undertones with that, whereas Cheeky is more with the neutral undertone.

So this is something that also is not as loud as mod about you I feel like mod
about you is attention grabbing but not too attention grabbing where it looks
like you have highlighter on your nails Cheeky, she kind of flies by she's a little mysterious,
but she's playful at the same time This is a really good color and I have found
that men really like this color as well I don't know.

I think men tend to like pink colors on women's nails I've tried almost every color.
And when it comes to pink, like feminine, playful pinks.
I get the most compliments from men. At the end of the day, I might be mentioning
men, but I want you to get something that you love because they're your hands
and you're going to be looking at them.

Don't get it because someone else loves it. However, if you do have a date or
a boyfriend or a husband, this is a tip, shameless plug.
I think men really love to feel included into some of our day-to-days.
They might not mention it, but it's super cute. So if you're dating someone
and they give you like money for nails nails, or your husband gives you money

to get your nails done, call him.
And the trick is to pick a couple from this list or a couple of nail colors
that you really like, right?
Like maybe three, two or three. Call him and ask him, present to him like,
which one do you think I should get?
And get the one he chooses because you're going to pick ones you like anyway.
Get one you choose. And then when you come home or when you see them like,

I really love this color as if you didn't know
he's gonna love it anyway but whatever like I got the
color you picked out I really love this color it looks so good like I'm

it's it's a trick that's old as the test of time and it eats them up every time

it gets the man every time they're like yeah like it makes them feel like I'm
the man I do the same thing when it comes to fragrances as well,
Last but not least, in the spirit of Valentine's Day, this OPI gel color is super cute.

This is the shade Love is in the Bear by OPI. And it is very pink, y'all.

If you are a darker complexion, like the pink automatically just pops.
It's so beautiful. I also recommend you trying this one on your toes as well.
It reminds me a bit of mod about
you the new one that i just recommended to you now

well so if you do want to try my trick with your significant other or a guy
that you're dating or getting to know you can pick this one out and be like
yeah it's called love is in the bear like it's so cute right like he'll love

I do have a couple of tips that I want you all to follow whenever you are getting
your nails done so that we are protecting our hands, of course.
When it comes to getting your nails done, I know a lot of women are doing gel

colors, whether it is on your real nails or a acrylic base.
And also if you're doing S&S, if you're going to the nail salon and you're curing
your nails under a UV light, I want to make sure that you are putting on some
sunscreen right before you're going to the nail salon.
One is going to protect your hands from the UV. And when you protect your hands
(22:34):
from the UV light, you're actually aging backwards, okay?
You don't want to age your hands. I mean, as we grow older, and it's a privilege
to grow older because some people do not get to
get to do that in this world. However, protecting your hands from the sun and
from UV lights, especially when you're always going to the nail salon,
will help make your hands appear younger.
(22:54):
We want to slow down the age, not speed it up, girl, even though it is a privilege to get older now.
So make sure you are doing that. And also, whenever you get a color that you
like, write it down. It is okay to be a creature of habit.
Always pick out, if you want to recommend to a man, only like two to three colors
you don't want to overwhelm him I really would say like go with two colors that

you like and just show him those two and be like which one of these two you
don't want to show him like all of them on the list and then you know how men
are like these look the same.
Men will do that so if you're picking out two colors kind of pick out like one
that's with a nude brown base or one that's with a pink base or one that's with
a white base don't pick out like mod about you and love is in the bear because

they look very similar but but because we're women, we understand that they're different.
If you send that to a man, he's going to say, what's the difference between the two?
So you want to send him like, put it in neutral and love is in the bear or mod
about you and funny bunny, right? Mix it up a little bit.
Also try different things on your toes. If you are getting gel polish on your

toes, I want you to do the same thing.
Put on the UV light and put them under the light after that,
you want to make sure that you're protecting yourself from harmful UV rays.
Also, it is perfectly okay to just do your nails yourself.
I did open up a bit about what had happened to me.
I know a lot of the girlies are sharing that they're getting press-on nails,

which is beautiful and great.
However, y'all want to be careful. If you're doing press-on nails and you're
not applying them correctly, which maybe I should do an entire podcast episode
on, you can actually get a bacterial infection on your nail bed like I did.
And I wasn't applying them correctly.
I wasn't applying them correctly. Fun fact, I wanted to be a nail tech,

right? I wanted to do celebrity makeup artists and be a nail tech growing up.
I was like, this is how I'm going to make money.
But I ended up getting a bacterial infection, which we call a grainy on my nail bed.
And it took like six to eight months for it to heal properly.
And in between that healing, I could not have anything really on my nails.
I couldn't have any gel colors.
I decided to get some of these colors and just polished

my nails like the old days myself and I would
find myself polishing my nails like every two weeks because when you wash your
hands your nails polish starts chipping and whatnot but anyway
you want to be very careful when you're putting on these press
on nails because when you get a grainy not only can they spread not only is
it bacterial it takes a long time to heal and if you're a girly who loves getting

their nails done it's going to be annoying because you can't have anything on

how we're going into like that girl for this year and just being more elegant
and refining ourselves, there's always room for growth.
With that is our appearance. And as a woman, our appearance,

no matter if it is our hair, our nails, our feet, our clothes,
our confidence that we are exuding.
I had talked about confidence a bit on TikTok and we're going to be exploring that as well. But...
Nails have a huge thing to do with it because when you meet someone,
the first thing you kind of look at is like what they have on their face.
But a lot of men, believe it or not, look at women's nails, like more than the average.

And even if it's not about a man, it's about yourself because you do a lot of
things with your hands, right?
You're touching things every day. You're looking at your hands.
You're talking with your hands with those nonverbal communication skills that we've talked about.
So keeping up with your nails and making sure that you look timeless and elegant
(03:24):
and a way to be budget friendly is to pick things that are going to go with
no matter what you have on.
All of these colors in this list that I have compiled will go with no matter
what you have on, no matter what skin tone you are, no matter what age you are.
And on top of that, if you are short on cash or you might not have the funds
available to get your nails done every two weeks, you can stretch this out for a month.

Not only that, you can also buy these colors in your own polish or gel sets.
They don't have to be acrylic or dip powder. However, the colors are available
with gel polish, regular polish, dip powder, and everything in between.
You can use them on your real nail beds.
You can use them on acrylics. You can use them with doing SNS.
It doesn't matter. This is literally for everyone.

So let's get right into it. These are are in no particular order.
The first one is the most popular shade.
I think this is actually the second most popular shade in OPI and this is the shade Bubble Bath.
Bubble Bath is such a playful feminine shade.
I'm not sure how it got the name. However, this is a very kind of light opaque playful pink.

I do recommend three shades of the color if you want to have more of a color
and less of like a nude effect.
And I do have some like mix and match cheat codes that you can try next time
you go to the nail salon or Target to buy these polishes.
Bubble bath is, I want to say, one of OPI's most famous color.
Every nail salon is always fully stocked and usually has more than one bottle of bubble bath.

So if you're trying someplace new, you can just call it by its name.
They are going to know exactly what you're talking about.
Bubble bath is also a color, no matter if you keep your nails long or short
it's not going to be too see-through however like I said I do recommend three
coats of it y'all know if y'all follow me on Instagram and everything I have had,

from extendo nails to very short nails to medium nails. I love to just switch
up my look. So try out Bubble Bath.
The next shade is going to be called Put It In Neutral and that is by OPI.
Put It In Neutral is a less pink, it has less pink undertones.
It's definitely very much neutral.
Put It In Neutral is a, that is the name of it because it is neutral, girly.

It is suitable for every skin tone and it is opaque though.
So if your nail tips are longer than your nail beds, it can kind of be see-through
and it can also create this like ombre effect though. I think it's really pretty still.

So yeah, if you have longer nail beds, it's going
to have this ombre effect because of
the opaqueness of the color but whenever I do
get this shade my nails are long it creates the effect
and I do get a lot of compliments on this on this
shade the first time I got this shade I wanted to do
something plain because I was getting I used to
spend like hundreds of plus dollars on my nails I had the

marble the pearls the like
I had the cardi b nails the extendo long and
I was like you know what I want to try something completely opposite and I
decided to opt into this super neutral color and I
just felt like it was so plain because it was not something I was used
to and then I got compliments on it and I'm like
what people are liking my nail like this is just so plain but
(06:50):
it's so it's such a classic timeless look and it's not a rich color I do suggest
mixing it with another color to make it less like opaque or vibrant you can
use put it in neutral as a top coat so if you are wanting to try something else
that is not on this list but the color is too too vibrant for you,
try put it in neutral on top of the color and it will kind of tone down.

It's, oh my gosh, like I love it. The next color is.
Probably the most sold color by OPI, and that is Funny Bunny.
Now, let me tell you, babes, Miss Funny Bunny is a staple.
Funny Bunny is a white color. It's not white like snow. It's not like an alpaint. It's not super white.
(07:34):
However, this color is, it's like, it has a bit opaqueness to it,
a creamy, I was about to say a creamy texture, a creaminess to it that is very hard hard to describe.
Funny Bunny looks good on anyone's skin tone. It is such a beautiful white color.
Even you could do two, you can do three coats if you want to.
I do like if you were to do two coats of Funny Bunny because you don't want

it to look as bright because then it just looks like you have white nail polish on.
The only thing about Funny Bunny is that if you are a girly that wears a lot
of makeup, if you're putting on makeup every day, especially if you you are
a darker complexion, Funny Bunny does stain.
So if you're wearing this color, you may have to change out your nail color
quicker than others depending on what type you are getting.
(08:20):
So if you're getting Funny Bunny in just a polish or even a gel polish,
you're going to have to change it out.
You cannot keep Miss Mama's for over a month.
If you want Funny Bunny and you know you're going to want her for a while,
I do suggest getting the actual powdered color so it it stays that way.
And then you can just use some acetone nail polish if it decides it wants to stain.

I know there's like an old saying, because y'all know I'm from the South,
and we always used to say no white after Labor Day. And the girlies live by that, okay?
They swear by that rule, even though I'm pretty sure the rule just talks about clothing.
But white nails after Labor Day, it might be a stretch for some of the girlies, which is totally okay.
So just be aware of when when you are using Miss Funny Bunny and where you are going.

Next is, oh my goodness, this is a shade that I absolutely love.
It is so playful. It's so feminine.
Guys love this shade and it is called Mod About You.
Fun fact, though. I went to the nail salon one day and I requested Mod About You.
And when the nail tech was putting the shade on my hands, I was looking at it

and I told her, oh, no, can I please have Mod About You? And she goes, this is it.
Now, I look at her. I look at the nail. I look at her and I'm like,
this is not Mod About You.
I know Mod About You when you see it. I've been using Mod About You since I was in high school.
And I was like this is not what it looks like this is very this is like this is very pink,

and she's like yeah I know and she
shared with me that OPI actually changed the colors I don't know who decided
that they were going to wake up and choose violence in OPI's office but OPI
has actually changed a lot of their nail colors without changing the name so
they changed the the actual color, but they kept the name the same.

This is not the only shade that it has happened to. There's another nail shade
that's on this list it has happened to as well.
However, I will say we don't know exactly what year they changed Mod About You.
But Mod About You, I did some digging. I'm like, it had to be from at least
2016 to 2017, 18, they've changed Mod About You.

Really 2015 I will say from 2015 to like 2018 somewhere in between that they
were phasing out some shades and just changing the colors and keeping the name the same but.
Whatever mod about you is still a beautiful shade The old mod about you is very
light and if you know what i'm talking about I do have another shade on the
list this next up that resembles the old mod about you However,
(10:54):
this new mod about you is very vibrant.
It's not like super light None of these nail colors are like in your face neon colors,
of course But it reminds me of like a ballerina pink You know the types of tutus
that ballerinas have or like their pink shoes or like the tights that type of
pink pink. It's so soft. It's girly.
Like it's just, I love it. The guys love it. It's just, it's just a lighthearted color.

You can definitely wear this at any time of the year, but it's definitely perfect
when spring is coming or summer is coming.
Hey, if you're going on a trip and it's in the middle of winter,
I still will wear Mod About You because who doesn't like pink?
Next on the list is Almost Like the Old Mod About You. I ended up changing my shade that day.

really good color if you want to stay away from white
toes because it's like okay it's getting super basic now i
kind of want to switch it up the color is called let's be
friends and it's by opi as well let's be
friends resembles the old mod about you it is a
very it has a it's a white with a pink hue
and it is ever so lightly if you're

not a type of girly that is into details you could confuse this
color with the white because like i said like it literally has
a a pink hue the nail polish is white and they just put one drop of pink into
it so if you want to try something on your toes this is typically something
that I would try on my toes if I don't want to do white but I want to spice
it up a bit but I still want a light color let's be friends is the perfect.

Color to try I will say because let's be friends is so light it also will stain
if you wear a ton of makeup.
So get it in a gel polish or in the powder.
If you are using it in a gel polish and you have it on your hands cured,
I want to tell you that if it starts to stain, you can use acetone nail polish

remover. Not too much though.
You don't want to remove the polish. Just brush it over ever so slightly.
And you can also really like put a napkin, put some Dawn dish soap or something
and wipe your nails as well after every time you put on your makeup.
But I don't think think this color will last a month on your
hands without it getting a little dark from

being from having makeup on it on your toes of course
on your hands maybe not next color
on the list is called bear my soul now this is by opi and i want you to listen
very carefully bear my soul is not a pink hue no pink undertones it is very
very neutral okay this girl bears

her soul there's no secrets to this nail polish and it is very opaque.
This shade is great if you wear short nails. If your nails do not pass your
nail beds that much, this shade is perfect.
You can wear it by itself, no matter what skin tone, what age you are.
I will say this is a really good shade if you have like a younger daughter or
like a younger niece that you're taking to the nail salon and you don't want

her to look too grown like back in the day, right?
I don't know. Who said that red was grown? I don't know. Anyway,
you don't want her to look too grown.
This is the perfect shade to give like a toddler when they're getting their
nails done. It's still cute though.
This nail color has a bit of glitter to it, and you can only see the shimmer.
I wouldn't even call it glitter. Let me not even call it that. It's a shimmer.

You can only see the shimmer when the sun hits your nails. So it's very, very slight.
The cheat code for Bare My Soul is that if you were to do two coats of Bubble
Bath and one coat of Bare My Soul before you do the top coat, you will thank me later.
Later I have this on my nails right now and I've

posted it and I went on a date last week no
not even last week I went on a date a couple days ago and the guy was like oh
he put out his hand so I can put my hand in his and he said I love your nails
these look very nice and I'm just like oh thank you a way to my heart is to
compliment how I smell or my nails or my makeup because why not it just made me feel so mushy.

If you are feeling real adventurous, you can definitely put this on top of Funny Bunny.
Now, of course, because it has a neutral brown hue to it, it's going to tone
down the white in Funny Bunny and make it more of an off-white.
But don't forget, it does have the shimmer, so it looks really good when the sun hits your hands.
The next shade is for the creamy, rich girlies.

Now, this one, I literally just took off my nails a couple days ago when I got
the ones I just told you about.
And this is Terre Mousseau for two. I love
the name of this shade and whenever someone asks
me what I have on my nails and I tell them this they say oh that's
such a cute name like can I get paid to name
nail polish colors like why not hello how do
you even get into that but anyway so it's one of the creamiest news on this
(15:38):
list two coats of this color and it's lovely you do not need three coats of
this it is not opaque at all so the length of your nails do not matter it's
not going to create that ombre effect it will it will appear the same shade
no matter how long your nails are.
No pink undertones here. It is almost like, what can I compare it to? Just like a really nude.

It's darker than an oatmeal, but it's of course in the shades of brown, if that makes sense.
If you are a darker complexion, this will appear lighter than you want.
However, it still looks very good. And it's also a color, If you are a dark-skinned
woman, like if you're a nice chocolate woman listening to this podcast right
now, try that color on your feet. You will thank me later.

Taramisu for two by OPI is such a great color.
And you can skip out on the nail salon or redoing your nails for two weeks.
You can stretch this one out for a month, girl, and it will be nobody's business.
Your nails won't even look that crazy, child.
After that is a sister to bare my soul. And this one is called Bear With Me.

Bear With Me is not by OPI, surprisingly.
Most of the shades on this list are by OPI. However, this one is by Kiera Sky.
This is a beige nail polish, and it is not boring at all.
It is very creamy. It looks beautiful. It's smooth.
It's natural against your skin tone, and you can also use this as a top coat.

However, I will say this color is not as opaque as you may think it is.
Is concert like comparison to the name I feel
like bear with me you would think that this color is a little
opaque almost like put it in neutral but it's not I
would say bear with me is like put it in neutral without it
being opaque so it doesn't matter how long your nails are you can put this on
there's no shimmer to this one at all like bear my soul that has some shimmer

you can put this on and it will not look ombre this is another color that is
perfect for if If you're taking a toddler out as well to get their nails done
or your little sister or whomever to get their nails done,
this is an all-age friendly shade by Kiera Sky.
I will say a lot of nail salons do have this color, but if they don't,

you can also ask for put it in neutral and just know that it may be a little
opaque depending on how long your nails are.
The second to last shade reminds me just like the name.
It is called Cheeky and it's by Kiera Sky. guy it
is very playful and it's a beautiful color to try
with bear with me you could mix them together if you want to
if you're not a girly who is detailed oriented you

might need to like clarify on these two because you can mix it with bear with
me or bear my soul if you want a little shimmer this is a flesh tone color but
it has a little pink to it and depending on your your complexion the pink may
show up differently I think this is a color that goes with anyone and And depending
on your skin tone, it pulls out different colors.
It's just such a chameleon, I feel like.

It may look more pink or it may look more nude. It is a very safe option.
The difference between this color and some of the other pinks that I have in
here is that this is a pinky color with more of a neutral tone than it is more of a white tone.
So like Let's Be Friends and Mod About You, that's going to be more of white
undertones with that, whereas Cheeky is more with the neutral undertone.

So this is something that also is not as loud as mod about you I feel like mod
about you is attention grabbing but not too attention grabbing where it looks
like you have highlighter on your nails Cheeky, she kind of flies by she's a little mysterious,
but she's playful at the same time This is a really good color and I have found
that men really like this color as well I don't know.

I think men tend to like pink colors on women's nails I've tried almost every color.
And when it comes to pink, like feminine, playful pinks.
I get the most compliments from men. At the end of the day, I might be mentioning
men, but I want you to get something that you love because they're your hands
and you're going to be looking at them.

Don't get it because someone else loves it. However, if you do have a date or
a boyfriend or a husband, this is a tip, shameless plug.
I think men really love to feel included into some of our day-to-days.
They might not mention it, but it's super cute. So if you're dating someone
and they give you like money for nails nails, or your husband gives you money

to get your nails done, call him.
And the trick is to pick a couple from this list or a couple of nail colors
that you really like, right?
Like maybe three, two or three. Call him and ask him, present to him like,
which one do you think I should get?
And get the one he chooses because you're going to pick ones you like anyway.
Get one you choose. And then when you come home or when you see them like,

This is the shade Love is in the Bear by OPI. And it is very pink, y'all.

It's so beautiful. I also recommend you trying this one on your toes as well.

I do have a couple of tips that I want you all to follow whenever you are getting
your nails done so that we are protecting our hands, of course.
When it comes to getting your nails done, I know a lot of women are doing gel
(22:13):
colors, whether it is on your real nails or a acrylic base.
And also if you're doing S&S, if you're going to the nail salon and you're curing
your nails under a UV light, I want to make sure that you are putting on some
sunscreen right before you're going to the nail salon.
One is going to protect your hands from the UV. And when you protect your hands
(22:34):
from the UV light, you're actually aging backwards, okay?
You don't want to age your hands. I mean, as we grow older, and it's a privilege
to grow older because some people do not get to
get to do that in this world. However, protecting your hands from the sun and
from UV lights, especially when you're always going to the nail salon,
will help make your hands appear younger.
(22:54):
We want to slow down the age, not speed it up, girl, even though it is a privilege to get older now.
So make sure you are doing that. And also, whenever you get a color that you
like, write it down. It is okay to be a creature of habit.
Always pick out, if you want to recommend to a man, only like two to three colors
you don't want to overwhelm him I really would say like go with two colors that
(23:15):
you like and just show him those two and be like which one of these two you
don't want to show him like all of them on the list and then you know how men
are like these look the same.
Men will do that so if you're picking out two colors kind of pick out like one
that's with a nude brown base or one that's with a pink base or one that's with
a white base don't pick out like mod about you and love is in the bear because

they look very similar but but because we're women, we understand that they're different.
If you send that to a man, he's going to say, what's the difference between the two?
So you want to send him like, put it in neutral and love is in the bear or mod
about you and funny bunny, right? Mix it up a little bit.
Also try different things on your toes. If you are getting gel polish on your

toes, I want you to do the same thing.
Put on the UV light and put them under the light after that,
you want to make sure that you're protecting yourself from harmful UV rays.
Also, it is perfectly okay to just do your nails yourself.
I did open up a bit about what had happened to me.
I know a lot of the girlies are sharing that they're getting press-on nails,

which is beautiful and great.
However, y'all want to be careful. If you're doing press-on nails and you're
not applying them correctly, which maybe I should do an entire podcast episode
on, you can actually get a bacterial infection on your nail bed like I did.
And I wasn't applying them correctly.
I wasn't applying them correctly. Fun fact, I wanted to be a nail tech,

right? I wanted to do celebrity makeup artists and be a nail tech growing up.
I was like, this is how I'm going to make money.
But I ended up getting a bacterial infection, which we call a grainy on my nail bed.
And it took like six to eight months for it to heal properly.
And in between that healing, I could not have anything really on my nails.
I couldn't have any gel colors.
I decided to get some of these colors and just polished

my nails like the old days myself and I would
find myself polishing my nails like every two weeks because when you wash your
hands your nails polish starts chipping and whatnot but anyway
you want to be very careful when you're putting on these press
on nails because when you get a grainy not only can they spread not only is
it bacterial it takes a long time to heal and if you're a girly who loves getting

their nails done it's going to be annoying because you can't have anything on
