family, leadership, and legacy, because those are the areas
(01:06):
where God shapes who we are andhow we live.
Yes, and if you've beenlistening to us for a while, you
know, we like to mix in realtalk some laughter and but
always God's word.
So if you're new here, welcome.
We are Allen and Stacy Jo.
I'm Stacy Jo, right.
And we are husband.
(01:27):
Thanks for clarifying that, BabeYou're welcome.
And we are a husband and wifeteam who have walked through
plenty of valleys andmountaintops.
Right, babe?
Oh yeah.
And we've learned that the wayto steward our lives, the way we
steward our lives, matters notjust for us, but for our
generations to come.
That's what this episode's allabout today is legacy living.
(01:51):
Yeah.
How do we leave a legacy?
What does that mean to stewardtoday?
With tomorrow in mind, how do weshift from just living today to
leaving a spiritual heritage?
So often it's con that leave alegacy.
People confuse that when they, they think finance is first.
(02:12):
Right?
But today we're, we're reallyfocusing on a spiritual legacy.
Yeah.
And our anchor verse for todayis 2 Timothy 4:7, and that's
where Paul declares, I havefought the good fight.
I have finished the race, I havekept the faith.
Mm.
And that is the heartbeat oflegacy.
Not just making it through life, not just white knuckling it.
(02:36):
Yeah.
The whole way.
But finishing well and leavingsomething that is lasting behind
for generations to come.
For your children, for yourchildren's children and your
children's, children's children.
Right on.
I heard a song like that before.
Yeah, I'm sure.
But uh.
Most of, most of us spend, uh,more time planning for our
(03:00):
vacations than we do planningfor our legacy.
And there's, that's true.
There's probably something alittle challenging with that.
Uh, we, we may want to do someself-examination, but, uh, uh,
if you had a, uh, if you, if weever had a vision for the
future, uh, we seem to have lostit somewhere along the mundane,
daily minutiae.
(03:21):
Yeah.
I mean, it's.
Really easy to lose the visionthat the Lord planted in our
hearts, and because we live insuch a right now culture.
Yeah.
Everything is about instantgratification.
Yeah.
You know, immediate results,quick wins.
(03:42):
You know how to make the, youknow, we're not talking about
money today, but how to make themoney quick.
Right.
Easy to forget that the choicesthat we make today will ripple
into tomorrow.
Right.
Whether they're good or whetherthey're bad.
And not just for our tomorrow, but again for the generations
(04:02):
after us.
Yeah.
That reminds me of as you'regoing through that, the, the
quick this, the quick that,yeah.
This, that and the other as a isa microwave.
We're a microwave generation.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
We want everything now.
Mm-hmm.
Uh, and, and yesterday and, uh,it's, uh, mm-hmm.
I think we have the internet to,to maybe not blame for that, but
(04:23):
it certainly played a factor.
And, you know, if, if, uh, quitehonestly, if.
If, uh, I don't get answers inthree seconds, I get a little
testy.
And that's, uh, that's, uh,yeah.
You're getting better with that.
I am getting better with that.
But you are getting better withthat.
That's the internet.
You know, it gives us, uh, it,it is, uh, John Eldridge calls
(04:43):
us disciples of the internet andwe really, it, it's important to
recognize that and, uh, and moveforward.
Yeah.
And, and make corrections asneeded.
But, uh, I'd say more so thanthe.
Well, I mean, obviously theinternet, but AI now, I mean,
with ai no, it's, it's theinternet.
I know it's still the internet, but like getting more nichey.
(05:05):
Yeah.
AI has really, yeah.
What it does now is incredible.
And how it can give you, youknow, everything you need right
now.
Yeah, yeah.
It's, it's important not to betoo reliant on that.
Correct.
Uh, we have to, we have toremember that, you know, life is
about.
Is about one, first and foremostis about God and it's about us.
(05:26):
Mm-hmm.
And it's not always about havingall the answers right now.
Right.
You know, if we, if, if wedidn't have to look for the
answers, if we didn't have topray for the answers, then there
would be no teachable moments.
So we didn't go through thechallenges.
There wouldn't be teachablemoments, so don't let, don't let
the internet or the And we'renot demonizing the internet.
No, no, no.
(05:46):
Not at all.
Or ai Yeah.
I mean, we're using the internetright now.
Right.
But, uh, for sure, uh, it's,it's, it's a gift, but we don't
wanna abuse that guest.
Right.
And we're, we're not demonizingAI either.
Yeah.
Uh, there, there's a, a time anda place for everything Solomon
wrote.
Uh, but, um, anyway, uh, movingback to our mm-hmm.
(06:08):
Topic, uh, the word, uh,speaking, um, Solomon.
Yeah.
Uh, in, in Proverbs, he, hewrote in, uh, chapter 13:22, A
good man leaves an inheritance.
Uh, to his children's children.
Mm-hmm.
And as wise as Solomon was, um,he may have been considering
wealth as a part of thatinheritance, uh, but we, uh, we
(06:30):
could speculate that he wastalking more about legacy.
Especially in the Yahweh cultureof Solomon's Day, uh, Solomon
and, and other religious andpolitical authorities, they,
they would've considered sowinginto their offspring, sowing
into their communities, andsowing into their spiritual
(06:51):
family, sowing into their familyspiritually.
Uh, and I'd say Solomon didfairly well at that.
Uh, even as fallible as he was.
And, and, and he was, uh,because, you know, he was human.
Uh, but he was known as, uh,even as fallible as he was.
He's wisdom's goat man.
He is, he's right.
He's the greatest of all, alltime, uh, as well as you know.
(07:14):
And he was also attributed tobuilding Jerusalem's first
temple.
Yeah.
I'd say that's a pretty goodlegacy.
Solomon asked for wisdom.
He did.
He could have had anything.
And uh, and he asked for wisdom.
Yeah.
And the Lord gave him wisdom.
And so that kind of would goback to, you know, seek first
the kingdom of God and then allelse would be given to you.
(07:35):
Right.
You know, and he got a littleabusive along the way, but you
know, but the legacy that he wasable to leave because he asked
for wisdom.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
I mean, asking the rightquestions is important point.
Mm-hmm.
Right, and, and here's thetruth.
You know, if we don't stewardour days with intention.
Um, we will just drift intosurvival mode.
(07:57):
And I speak firsthand because Ihave drifted into survival
modes.
I have white knuckled it throughthe days, through the nights,
through the weeks.
I would even venture to saythrough years.
Yeah.
And not recently, not basicallydefinitely three years.
Yeah.
But we live.
(08:18):
Paycheck to paycheck.
And I'm not talking financial,I'm talking emotionally and
spiritually, right?
But legacy living requiresvision.
Right?
And it requires us to thinkbeyond ourselves.
You know, ask the Lord, what doyou have for me?
Yeah.
Receive what he has for you.
(08:40):
Receive that vision.
He puts those, those dreams andvisions in your heart.
He does.
Um, but he also establishes the,the plan, the steps for those.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
And you know, I can remember aseason, a long season, um, when
(09:01):
I was just so focused onbuilding a business.
You know, I, I've said before, Iwas, I've been an entrepreneur
since I was 10 years old, Ithink.
Right?
Um, but in the most recentseason.
Building business and being sofocused on that, that I almost
lost sight of building aspiritual heritage, right?
(09:24):
Um, even though my planner wasfull, my heart was not right.
My heart was empty, and Irealized that if I wasn't
careful, at some point I wasgonna leave behind profits,
which isn't a bad thing.
But I wasn't gonna leave behindprayers.
Yeah.
And I was gonna leave behindstrategy for the businesses, but
(09:48):
I wasn't going to leavespiritual seeds and that was not
a place I wanted to be.
Right.
I want my generations to come toknow that everything, even in
business, comes from prayer.
Yeah, absolutely.
The seeds that we sow intoothers and into our community
(10:08):
and.
Into, you know, our, our church.
Right.
And you've learned in between2019 and which is when mm-hmm.
You, uh, you started FreedomSupport Solutions.
Yeah.
Uh, to.
To now, the, and, and you'vecome to the point where you're
leaving the spiritual legacy,where you're teach, you're
(10:31):
leading by example, uh, of howto lead, leave a spiritual
legacy.
It was tough the first fewyears, but what you've built
from, from an idea that the Lordgave you mm-hmm.
Uh, it, it was hard.
Yeah.
It was, it was, uh, there, youput in unfathomable hours.
Uh uh.
Missed a few marks and that, butwhat, what's so what?
(10:56):
To your credit, it waschallenging back th it was
challenging through the journey, but to your credit, you've
learned, you've picked up theteachable moments all along the
journey.
Yeah.
To, to be here now.
Not, and not saying, well, lookwhat I've done right.
You know, look, look what, butmore So look what the Lord has
done.
(11:16):
It's all him.
And look what the Lord has doneand, and not, and not to be
satisfied with what's been builtto this date.
But to start from here, this isthe benchmark to move forward
from here.
And the question now is, Lord, where do you want to take this?
Right.
Where do you want to?
So it's not a, it was toughthrough it.
But the, but the value has beenin the teachable moments.
(11:39):
Yeah.
And you've done a fantastic jobthere.
Aw, thanks babe.
Yeah, absolutely.
Thank you.
And, uh, I can somewhat relateto that.
Mm-hmm.
It's, uh, I mean through betweenwork and, and ministry and, and
writing for both.
Mm.
Uh, and not to mention requiretravel.
I missed out on substantialamount of family time.
(12:02):
Uh, and I came into the kids'life late as it was, and, and
when they needed a dad, uh, whomodeled Faith, I, I got, I'll
just admit it.
Uh, or back in 2011.
Oh.
The early years.
Yeah, the early years.
Uh, I missed the mark severely, severely back then I thought
(12:25):
just being a good provider wasall that was required.
Mm-hmm.
And I was way off there.
And fortunately, uh, you know,we've had time to, uh, and we've
had plenty of opportunities togrow together as a family
through the years.
And, and we've had time to, uh,and I've had time to, and we've
had time to improve on ourlegacy score.
(12:47):
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Praise the Lord.
Thank the Lord.
Yeah.
And, and, and, uh, and we've,and like I just mentioned with
you, we, we both have, we'veimproved our legacy score.
We've, we've learned along theway, we've captured the
teachable moments and, and.
And that prepares us for thechallenges that are ahead.
Uh, so I guess we're doing allright there.
(13:09):
Yeah.
Uh, so I would, I would justthank the Holy Spirit for that
because he's, he's the, thespirit of truth that brings us
all the truth, is what the wordsays.
And it was, it was his truthand, and his conviction over the
years that have, that havehelped teach us along the way,
uh, and continues right now tosay, Hey.
You know, you ain't there, youknow, there's still room for
(13:32):
improvement.
And the cool thing is that we'reall interested in finding, still
finding those teachable momentsalong the way.
'cause it, it just, it justkeeps getting better.
And I love what our, our, ourbrother and sister, uh, Dick and
Brenda Smith says, the best isyet to come.
Absolutely.
And you know, I think we allhave moments where.
(13:54):
Where we just come to therealization that we're not
stewarding today with tomorrowin mind.
Yeah.
Um, that we're just trying toget through the day, like I said
before, white knuckling it.
Yeah.
And I did that, you know, I didthat for a long time.
That's tough stuff.
Um, yeah.
Doing it, I don't wanna say along time.
I did that for a while.
Um, just thinking that it wasin, you know, surviving in my
(14:17):
own strength.
Yeah.
You know, but survival mode isnot where it's at.
You learn and you learn that itwasn't right.
So, and, and you've greatlyimproved on that.
Yeah.
And recognize that there's stillroom for improvement.
That's the key recognizing.
And one of the keys, there aremany keys.
Mm-hmm.
But one of the keys isrecognizing that we have not
(14:39):
arrived, we have not, there'sstill room for improvement.
Where does our improvement comefrom?
Whose ways are higher andgreater?
Yahweh's, um, anyway, have itYahweh.
You wanna go Yahweh?
Yeah.
Have it Yahweh.
But, um, so, uh, survival isn't,uh, the same as legacy.
(15:01):
No.
And I think we've, we've nailedthat down.
Legacy asked.
What am I building for the nextgeneration?
Mm-hmm.
That's, that's somewhatself-explanatory.
And when I think of legacy, I, Ilove the book of Joshua.
Yeah.
Jo Joshua is a warrior.
It reminds me of, uh, Joshua andthe 12 Stones and, um.
(15:25):
Never through Joshua's life, uh,was he, did he ever just
consider survival?
Joshua was a warrior.
Yeah.
Through and through.
And that's what defines hislegacy.
He's known as the Lord'sWarrior, and we, we have a over
on our wall somewhere, as for meand my house.
(15:47):
We will serve the Lord.
That's Joshua.
Yeah.
You know, but, and Joshua four,um, tells the story of, of how
Joshua led God's people acrossthe Jordan mm-hmm.
On dry land.
And, and along the way, theypulled 12 stones from the Jordan
and Joshua said.
(16:08):
So he led them and, and theytook the 12 stones and they set
'em up on Gilgal as a memorialsite to share with future
generations.
And uh, and he said when theyask, when your children ask,
tell your children how God driedup the waters of the Jordan and
allowed you to cross on dryground mm-hmm.
(16:29):
By this.
All the earth will know that thehand of the Lord is mighty.
So, uh, so that you may reverethe Lord your God.
Forever.
Forever.
Forever.
Yeah.
And that's what I'm talkingabout.
That's legacy right there.
That's about a solid of anexample of God-centered legacy
(16:52):
as, as I could, uh, come upwith, with the exception of
Jesus.
Of course, you know, I say thatJesus left a pretty good legacy
as well, you think?
Yeah.
Yeah, I would say so babe.
Yeah, absolutely.
Of all time, right?
Definitely.
Yeah.
(17:13):
Um, you know, likewise, youknow, Psalm 78:4 says, we will
not hide them.
From their children, we willtell the next generation the
praiseworthy deeds of the Lord.
His power and the wonders he haddone has done legacy means our
children and even theirchildren.
Yeah.
(17:33):
That they will know the storiesof God's faithfulness because we
live them out loud.
Yeah.
And I mean, they see.
God's faithfulness in our lives.
Yeah.
They see that and thedeclaration or you know, that's
a declaration, what you said asfor me in my house.
Yeah.
We will serve the Lord.
Yeah.
That's a declaration that, thatwe, um, have had hanging on our
(17:55):
wall for years.
Yeah.
And through the trials.
Through the trials.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And we have started to, we seethe fruit of that in our
children.
Yeah.
We can see the generation.
Uh, coming after us that lovesthe Lord that it sees and
(18:17):
recognizes his faithfulness.
Um, and who really want tosteward well, what God has given
them.
Right, right.
It's all coming back around.
Yeah.
Just like he said it wouldExactly.
Just like he said it would.
So the scripture raise up achild in the way they should go
and they shall never depart fromit.
(18:37):
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's, it's true.
We were concerned, and I willget a little, uh, kind of super
personal, uh, we were concerned,uh, uh, our, because our, our
kids mm-hmm.
Uh, went through some stuff.
Mm-hmm.
And, uh, it was tough early intheir life and, and they.
Kind of went their own ways.
(18:58):
Mm-hmm.
And we were pretty concernedabout that.
I, I, I, they came into my, uh,I came into their lives very
late.
Yeah.
And, uh, so we were concernedabout their, their spiritual
wellbeing.
And, and the Lord said that he'sgot'em all.
Yeah.
And they're all coming back.
And lo and behold, 2025, they'reall coming back.
(19:22):
Um, in Jesus name.
In Jesus name.
That's right.
So when he says it.
He says it.
That's right.
And that's all that needs to,and we hold onto it and we hold
onto that in his timing.
Mm-hmm.
And it's, uh, that's the goodstuff right there, man.
That's right.
So legacy requires discipline.
Mm.
Oh, you, yes, it does.
(19:43):
You must have discipline.
Wax on, wax off every, everytime.
Right, right.
You got it.
You got it.
Because every time I, I, uh, notevery time, but whenever I, uh,
hear the word discipline, I, Ithink of me Gie and Daniel
saying, oh, Daniel son, you rocka discipline.
(20:03):
And he did at the time.
But anyway, but I remember Kar,oh, Allen saw the original.
You were rocket discipline.
But, uh, um.
But anyway, uh, laughter.
Hey, it's part of it.
We warn you.
You told you legacy requiresdiscipline.
We didn't tell you there'd bepop culture as well, but you
(20:24):
know, well, you know, I'm a bitfull of it.
You are.
Uh, but anyway, legacy doesrequire discipline.
When our, when our flesh wantscomfort, uh, it requires faith.
When the world screams fear.
Yeah.
And, and it does, faithovercomes fear and faith and
(20:45):
fear can't coexist.
Mm-hmm.
So, uh, and it require, uh,legacy requires humility when
we'd rather build our own namethan building God's kingdom.
Yeah.
Uh, we all have a, we all have adecision to make.
Are we gonna live by the fleshor are we gonna walk into
spirit?
(21:06):
Uh, one leaves.
While the other, other oneleaves a legacy.
Mm-hmm.
For generations and generationsand generations to know and more
so believe that our creator, father God, has created us all
on purpose for his purpose.
And when we decide to pursue hishigher and greater plan, all is
(21:30):
well on the legacy front.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
So how you might ask, how do webegin living with legacy in
mind?
So of course we have somepractical truths that we've
learned along the way.
And the first one is define whatlegacy means for you.
So again, legacy isn't justfinancial, it's spiritual, it's
(21:53):
emotional, it's relational.
And so ask, what do I want mychildren or my community to say
about my life?
I'm gonna ask you, Allen, what, what do you want your children
or community to say about yourlife?
You know, before I get into me,um, we're, we're 11 days, uh, as
(22:15):
we record this we're 11 days,uh, after the, the Charlie Kirk
assassination.
Mm-hmm.
And, uh, mm-hmm.
Two months before.
Uh, Charlie was murdered.
He was asked, what do you, whatdo you want to be remembered
(22:35):
for?
And he's, he is like, if I die,and, uh, I mean,'cause he didn't
know.
No one knew this was coming, right?
Uh, and guy said, yeah, uh, ifeverything, if if it goes down,
you know, what do you want to beremembered for?
And he says, I want to beremembered for, for my courage,
(22:57):
for my faith.
Mm.
Uh, and not to, not to carboncopy.
Uh, Charlie, uh, who was, andwe've had some great evangelists
in our time.
I think of, uh, Ryan, uh, Ryer.
Bonky I think of, and I, I hopeI didn't butcher his name there,
(23:20):
but, uh.
Reverend Bonky and, uh, BillyGraham, obviously, obviously,
but Wow.
Uh, in this, in this generationof, of, of, how about that?
Charlie Kirkman?
Mm-hmm.
He was something very special.
Yeah.
And, uh, anyway, to be, but backto your question, uh, rest in
(23:41):
peace.
Charlie and I, I cannot wait tosee.
The, uh, evolution, uh, if I usethat term Yeah.
Of turning point USA, uh, yeah.
It's on.
Yeah, it is.
Uh, watch what the Lord doesnow.
Uh, he will use what the enemymeans for evil and he will turn
it around and he will use it forgood.
(24:02):
And that's exactly what we'veseen, and I believe that's
exactly what we're going to seebecause yes, there is a legacy
there.
There is a massive legacy andit, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Uh, but you what?
I, I don't want a carbon copy,uh, Charlie, but I was, uh, you
know, I, those of you who knowme and or may, we've talked
about it, you know, I've, I cameout, I, I come from a recovery
(24:26):
background.
The first, uh, half of my lifewas very tainted.
Uh, with drugs and alcohol and,uh, lousy behavior and, and
woundedness mm-hmm.
Is where it all was rooted in.
But, but I don't, I don't wantto be remembered for that guy.
And, you know, there's somepeople that haven't seen me
since then and those, and that'sthe guy they'll remember, but I,
that's what I don't want to beremembered for, you know, is it,
(24:48):
was that good time?
Uh, and we had some good times, but man, we certainly did not
honor the Lord.
But what I, what I do want to beremembered for is the, the
transformation that the Lordstarted in me in 2009 and, uh,
and, and who, he's thesanctification process along the
(25:12):
way, the transformation alongthe way, I want to be remembered
for, uh.
For loving Jesus as, as best asI could when I learned how to do
so.
When?
When, yeah, when, I mean, herocked me.
I mean, that he pulled me out ofa bar.
Mm.
And, uh, and set me in his housethe very next morning.
(25:33):
And it's, I, I could go on andon, but I want to be, uh, I
wanna be remembered for.
Uh, who God created me to be.
Mm.
Uh, and I want to be rememberedfor the, the, the new man.
Yeah.
Uh, the word says, uh, upon our,our confession of Christ is
Lord.
The, the, the old is gone andthe new has come.
(25:54):
And I, I've mentioned thisbefore on our podcast, is, uh,
something that Graham Cook says,uh, that Graham cook's one of
our favorite English prophets.
And, uh.
Contemporary and he said, uh,the, the old guy, um, that old
man, uh, God didn't wanna, Goddidn't wanna fix him up either.
(26:17):
Right.
That's why he killed him.
That's why he crucified him withChrist.
Mm-hmm.
He wasn't interested in fixingup the old guy.
He is interested in sanctifyingby his spirit, the, the new man.
So I wanna be remembered for thenew man and, and all that God
has done since he.
He pulled me out of that barsince he, that's good.
Put me on since he showed me thecracks and the foundation that I
(26:39):
was living on and set me on afirm foundation and, uh, showed
me how to build from hiscornerstone.
Yeah.
That's good babe.
There's a long answer.
You're good for your longanswers.
You know, for me, I want to, Iwant to be known for loving
(26:59):
people.
Well, yeah.
I want to be known forstewarding relationships.
Well, and I haven't always beenknown for stewarding
relationships well.
Mm-hmm.
But I want to be known nowafter, you know, since my
transformation, I want to beknown for stewarding
(27:23):
relationships with honor andhumility, like we talked about
in the last episode.
Right.
Um.
And helping people find freedom, you know, the transformation
that they need to be able towalk free from the, the chains.
Yeah.
That bind them up.
(27:44):
That's it.
Whether it's, whether it'sspiritual, emotional, financial,
whatever it is.
Absolutely.
So that's what's legacy.
I wanna leave.
That's what Reviving Recovery isall about and is, is showing
people that.
So yeah.
And I'm so grateful to be ableto be doing that with you.
Same.
And I love what, when, whenPastor Todd commissioned us to,
(28:06):
to do that, he's like, he'slike, you're gonna do this.
He looks at me, he is like, you're gonna do this, but you
can't do it without her.
Right?
And I'm like, okay, cool.
I know where she lives.
Exactly.
But, uh, so, so excellent stuffbabe.
Thanks for sharing that.
It's so good.
Um, so also, uh, as we move ontoour, into our second point, we
(28:29):
wanna, we want to build, uh,spiritual heritage before.
Material inheritance.
Mm-hmm.
Spiritual heritage over materialinheritance.
Um, I love what Deuteronomy saysin, in chapter six, uh, verses
six and seven.
Uh, it says, these commandmentsthat I give you today are to be
(28:52):
on your hearts and press them onyour children.
Talk about them when you sit athome and when you, when you walk
along the road, when you lightout and when you get up before
finances.
Consider a faith legacy, consider eternity over
modernity.
Mm, that's good.
(29:12):
Right on.
I, I think about, you know, I, Iwouldn't be where I am today.
Right?
If it wasn't for the spiritualguidance and the prayers more
than anything.
Right.
Of my mom and my grandma.
(29:34):
Truth.
They built a spiritual heritage.
Yeah.
And I know that our kids arewhere they are today because of,
of our prayers.
Yeah.
And I just wanna encourage you, pray for your children.
That alone builds, will build aspiritual heritage.
(29:56):
Yeah.
Talk to them.
I remember.
I remember, I remember mygrandma, you know, being in the
car with my grandma and itdidn't matter where we were
going.
We were doing Bible trivia.
Right.
You know, she was alwaysquizzing me on the Bible.
And it was so fun.
She taught me all the songs and,and she read me the stories and
(30:16):
my mom read the stories.
Yeah.
And I had, you know, mygrandparents had bought me the,
the bible story books.
Yeah.
And so, uh, that was my favoritething to read as a little girl.
Um, her have read to me wherethose bible story books, right.
Pray for your children, readwith your children.
Right.
Teach them the Bible stories.
(30:37):
And I can't say I've been, I wasexcellent in my younger, younger
parenting days of doing thatwith my children.
Right.
Um, they were always in church, but I didn't always take the
time to build the spiritualheritage back then.
Right.
Yeah.
What we've learned along the wayhas been extreme, exponentially
(30:58):
transforming.
Yes.
Right.
Um, the third truth would be tolet the Holy Spirit shape your
daily choices.
So, you know, legacy isn't builtin one big moment, right?
Nothing happens like that.
It's Nope, nothing good happenslike that, right?
Most of the time.
But it's built in thousands ofsmall.
(31:23):
Moments.
Uh, small moments.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And inviting the Holy Spiritinto those daily decisions, you
know, asking him what to say,how to love, how to serve,
right.
How you do those things createsa ripple effect.
It does.
And you know, I know we're notnecessarily talking about.
(31:43):
Financial, but with thebusiness, you know, we, I, I
pray now into every decisionthat I make with the business
because I know that if I makethe wrong decision, yes, the
Lord can use whatever the enemymeans for evil and turn around
and use it for good.
But I have to consult with himas to what the decisions are
(32:06):
because I've learned, I'velearned the hard way.
Yeah.
That.
My choices create that rippleeffect.
So I want my children to havethe legacy of the businesses
that have been built right, andmaking sure that I.
Ask the Holy Spirit what thosedecisions are.
(32:29):
Right?
And not just about the business, but, but everything, uh, the,
the, uh, you want them to seehow you've built that business
spiritually.
And, and they're, they're veryprayerful kids.
And they're not kids.
They're, they're adults.
Adults, yeah.
You know, late twentiessomething and, and early
(32:49):
thirties somethings and theyare, they're some praying.
Ladies.
Yeah.
And you know, to know that whenI'm not on, so we have staff
meeting once a week, and to knowthat even when I'm not on staff
meeting, which a lot of timesI'm not, because Jocelyn runs
the staff meetings now, but Iknow that they open up in
prayer.
(33:10):
Yeah's important.
That's how staff meeting runs atFreedom Support Solutions.
Yep.
Um, the decisions are made with, with the Holy Spirit.
That's it.
That's it.
Invite him into our dailies.
That's it.
That's it.
So, uh, number four is choosingconsistency over perfection.
(33:30):
Mm.
Uh, and perfection's got nothingto do with it.
If, if that one, there's onlyone Perfect.
One.
And, uh, it's not me.
It's not, uh, not even Stacy Jo.
No.
Uh, and it's not you friends.
Uh, so, uh, perfection.
If, if, if we were perfect, thenwe'd have no use for teachable
(33:53):
moments.
There'd be nothing to learn.
There'd be no place to go.
Uh, and, and no, we couldn'tgrow If everything was perfect
and what fun would it be?
If we were all perfect, that'dbe pretty boring existence.
So, but anyway, pointconsistency over perfection.
(34:14):
Yeah.
Uh, your kids, your coworkers, your friends, they don't want,
they don't need Perfect.
Right.
What they need is you to befaithful.
Mm-hmm.
Uh, Galatians again, Paul's.
Pistol to, uh, I love Paul'swork.
You know, I mean, there's awhole lot to love.
Yeah.
I mean, you wrote like twothirds of the, the New
Testament.
That's not, but, uh, Galatianssix nine says, let us not grow
(34:37):
weary of doing good for at theproper time.
You'll reap a harvest if youdon't give up.
That's what I'm talking about.
Don't give up.
Don't ever give up.
Yeah, don't ever give up.
Don't ever.
I, again, I'm going back toprayer.
Don't ever give up the prayerprayers for your children.
(35:00):
Yeah.
Don't ever give them up.
That's the reason I'm breathingright now, is I, I firmly,
firmly believe the prayers of mymom.
Mm.
Uh.
Yeah, for sure.
Brought me through for sure.
Yeah.
And I was, I was a sub, I wassubstantially disobedient back
in the day.
But, uh, anyway, mom, momalways, always prayed, man.
(35:22):
Yeah, she always prayed.
Consistency is always key.
Absolutely.
In anything.
So the next, the final one, number five, is think
generationally.
You know, going back to thedecisions, you know, when, when
making decisions ask, how willthis impact not just me, but
those who come after me?
Right.
(35:42):
And that mindset will shift usfrom a temporary survival mode
Right.
To eternal impact mode.
Right.
And it, it's incredible to thinkif, if you.
You know, really sit with theHoly Spirit and talk to him.
Mm-hmm.
And ask him.
It's amazing what he will giveyou and the downloads he will
(36:05):
give you to create that eternalimpact.
Sure.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Um, that's awesome babe.
Thanks for sharing thatgenerationally.
You know, I, I thought when you, when you were going into that
think generation, I was like, man, we've been talking about
that, this entire thing, but youreally nailed it down there.
Mm.
Put a nice little bow on it.
(36:25):
Big pink bow there.
Oh, pink bow.
Very nice pink bow.
Can't miss it.
Uh, so, so here's something thatI've learned.
The legacy doesn't start withsomeday.
Mm-hmm.
You know, if, if you'reprocrastinating, stop it.
Legacy starts with today.
Yes.
Legacy starts today.
(36:47):
Every prayer that you pray, every seed that you sow, every
act of obedience, it all addsup.
So start today.
Keep moving today.
Keep building today.
Yeah.
And we wanna encourage you.
Don't underestimate the smallmoments.
You know, like I said, reading aBible story with your child,
(37:09):
choosing integrity in theworkplace.
Mm.
Uh, maybe forgiving when you'drather hold a grudge.
I mean, going back, we talked alot about that in the last
episode.
Yeah.
But that is legacy living.
Absolutely.
That is legacy living.
And you will.
You know, it's, it's said, youknow, you'll reap what you sow.
(37:30):
Yeah.
And you want to sow those seeds.
You want to pray those prayersand you want to act with
obedience because you're,someone's blessing is on the
other side of your obedience.
That's good.
I keep going back to that.
Like I love that.
That's so that's a good thing tokeep going back to.
Yeah.
(37:50):
Say, what was that again?
Someone's blessing.
Is on the other side of yourobedience.
Ooh, I like it.
I like it.
That's legacy living y'all.
That's good.
That's a Blammo moment.
Blammo.
Blammo.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Right.
I love it when I get the bla osright.
That was a pretty calm blammo, but still a blammo nonetheless.
(38:13):
Right?
So here's your call to action.
Don't just choose for today.
That's what we're talking about.
Legacy starts today.
But don't just focus on today.
Decide for your family'stomorrows.
Today, right?
Allow the Holy Spirit to guideyour decisions and ask him how
(38:34):
to build your spiritual heritagethat's gonna outlast you for
generations.
Yeah.
And remember that legacy is notabout your name being
remembered, right?
It's not about your name or myname, right?
It is about Jesus beingremembered through your life,
through my life, through Allen'slife.
(38:55):
When we fight the good fight andwe finish the race and we keep
the faith, we get to pass thebaton to the next generation
with confidence, not hesitantly.
Yeah.
But with confidence, right.
That they will carry it on.
I think, uh, I think my, mybuddy Brett and Dave would call
that we would pass it to thenext generation with God
(39:17):
confidence.
God confidence.
Absolutely.
Shout out to Brett Daveon, Godconfidence.
Yes.
Very cool.
For sure.
