Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, welcome to
another fabulous episode of Fan
Faces.
It's been two weeks, threeweeks.
We've been outside, we've beendoing things, but we're back at
you, back at your neck.
You know, seattle listeners, seattle Washington, I was out
(00:23):
there.
You know, I went to an event.
It was a movie, it was special.
Shout out to the new Camaras,we see you.
You guys did it, you guys did abig, you guys did a grande.
You know, the weather isperfect.
Love that weather.
Yeah, I love Seattle.
It was, you know, mild, a lot ofgreenery.
I don't smoke when I'm talkingabout greenery, I'm not talking
(00:48):
about weed, I'm talking abouttrees, flowers.
It was all green and all youknow.
You know they call it theEmerald City, right, no, I don't
know that, but amen, theEmerald City.
So it was a good time.
Saw lots of family members thatI hadn't seen in a long, long
time and we're going to work ongetting back to being together,
(01:11):
not because we need to, but wewant to.
That is all.
Let's all get to know eachother, but that's that.
It was a movie, it was a goodtime, enjoyed myself.
It was an event.
It's almost like the events.
It's almost like the events.
It's almost like the weddingsthat I would go to that they pay
me to be at, but I get toparticipate in that one as a
guest instead of an employee.
(01:32):
So it was a good time.
I enjoyed myself Dressed up,real nice.
I'll show you pictures later,andrew.
I may even put him in a podcastin the video, let's see.
Let's do it in the video, let'ssee.
Put a picture of me and my wellnice dressed up suit.
South Shouts out to WestgatePark fashion.
They hooked me up, they dressedme up.
(01:53):
You know, there you go.
They got me a nice dark, darksuit, navy blue.
I liked it.
But uh, let's get into our showhere.
My name is Amadou, amadou theGreat.
This is Fan Faces, and that isAndrew.
Andrew, he's in the building.
I am in the building today.
(02:14):
We're doing it big, but we havea segment that we're trying to
do with you guys and hopefullythere's some success in there.
It's called Hindsight.
The whole point with Hindsightis, whatever topics we did the
week before, we hopefully maybeif we got some things wrong and
we want to correct them, becausenow we see the bigger picture,
(02:37):
the whole picture, and we wantto let you guys know that we're
in the business of righting thewrongs, and righting the wrongs
is being able to see a wholepicture for what it is, seeing a
circumstance or a situation forwhat it is, and hindsight will
do that for us.
So our first topic on thissegment called hindsight is
(02:57):
Caitlin Clark.
We found out that the Big ThreeIce Cubes League offered her $5
million and we didn't know ifshe could play in the Big Three
and the WNBA at the same time.
But now we know the contractwould have been concurrent with
the WNBA contract as well.
It would have been $5 million.
(03:19):
She would have played firstseason, I believe.
She would have played firstseason, I believe, and she would
have been playing games in thebig three when she had time off
with the WNBA.
She would have been playing inthe WNBA when she had time off
in the big three and they wouldhave been playing together.
But Ice Cube was willing to beflexible and bend.
So that's our hindsight topic.
(03:42):
We got to clear a picture now.
But her rookie contract isstill going to be crap as a
professional player because theWNBA players don't make that
much money, and she's definitelygoing to be hoping that she
gets those big endorsement dealsout there and shout out Seattle
(04:03):
once more Got to Sounders.
It's not soccer season, but youknow soccer season's just
starting.
All right, but it's not likefull-in, like playoff mode, and
we're getting ready to startoctober november we're getting
ready to make a run at it.
So do you not officially aseattle sounders fan?
No, I just like the colors andI figured, let me get something
(04:26):
while I'm in Seattle.
And smart, I got a SeattleSounders jersey and I also have
a Seattle Seahawks jersey, andthe wedding that we was at was
also right across the hotel thatwe were at, was right across
Lumen Field in Seattle.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Oh, so that's where
you're staying.
So you weren't just.
Oh, OK.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Yeah, lumen field in
seattle.
Oh, so, that's where you'restaying.
So you weren't just.
Oh, okay, yeah, yeah, I didn'tgo there to go watch a game, I
just took a picture because Icould literally look at it I'm
so sad you couldn't just sneakaway for a couple innings and
just go.
I could I could look out thewindow and you know, see the
fields over there.
Such a nice area.
Parking was 75 bucks.
I wasn't gonna pay that reallyfor a baseball game.
To pay that Really For abaseball game yeah, the parking
(05:06):
lot, not for a baseball game, but the parking lot.
They said it was $75.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
I'm going to just
take the train in.
That's a fun scene.
I'm glad you got a chance tosee it.
Yeah, I had the pleasure ofseeing it back in, I think, in
December.
That opened my new year.
Out there, it out there.
It's so pretty man.
It's a nice little spot, right.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yeah, that's good.
So some of the topics we'll begetting into today you got the
NBA playoffs.
They've already started.
The Lakers played last night.
Now the Boston game is going on.
They're giving us, you know29-25.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Miami is actually
making a comeback.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
As you can see, I'm
watching.
We'll get into the NBA topics.
All right, let's go.
It's a little afternoon, thelight of our game.
And then we got Buffalo Bills.
The Pagoulas are willing tosell off 25% to the highest
bidder, kansas City Chiefs.
Their grant for stadium fundingwas denied.
(06:03):
Love it Well, not their grant.
They voted was denied.
Love it Well, not their grant.
They voted on it and it didn'tpass the measures.
And you got the USA's.
You got Robert Kraft callingArthur Blank, and I have some
thoughts on that, and I mean, naturally, that's highly
(06:23):
unethical for your former bossto call you somebody that could
be a potential boss.
Yeah, he didn't put him on hisreference did he for Belichick.
It doesn't matter, it's a publicinformation, but it's highly
unethical for your former bossto call a potential boss.
And also the US men'sbasketball team.
It was a dream team.
(06:46):
This is a revenge team goinginto Paris Olympics trying to
Revenge team.
Revenge team.
Yes, they're trying to win thegold, because Did they win the
gold last time?
They did the last Olympics, butthey didn't win the FIBA
championship.
Who cares?
They care.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
The Olympics is the
Olympics.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
The Americans are
bringing in some masonries to
come handle the job and it'sbasically an all-star.
Why are letters even sewn upfor this?
It's an all-star of all-stars.
It's a creme de la creme of NBAplayers going into Paris to say
give me that, stop playing withme.
You know we are him becausethey are, but let's get going
(07:23):
here, andrew.
What you got NBA playoffs, yes.
What is it looking like for you?
What are some of your initialthoughts?
Speaker 2 (07:31):
on the game so far.
The games just startedyesterday, right?
So we just got done with theplay-ins.
So Miami advanced and theSixers advanced, and already
Joel Embiid is injured againstthe Knicks, so that's not good
for that series.
The Lakers of course everybodyloves to talk about the Lakers
(07:54):
anytime you watch a TV show.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
The Lakers are the
Cowboys.
The Lakers are the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
I love talking about
them.
I don't need to talk about them, I don't really care.
I mean that's all right.
But the Lakers they got smackedagainst the defending champ,
denver Nuggets, last night, wow.
So that's going to be aninteresting see how the Lakers
bounce back for game two.
If they don't win game two inDenver, that series is pretty
(08:22):
much done, because you're notgoing to win four out of five
games against the Denver Nuggets.
I am very surprised about theSacramento Kings, who didn't
even make the NBA playoffs.
They lost both their play-ingames.
I'm sorry they didn't.
They won the first one.
They beat the Golden StateWarriors at home and then they
lost in New Orleans to beat theeighth seed.
(08:42):
And that is a surprise becauseI do believe they were the
second seed last year in the NBAplayoffs and they lost in the
first round against the GoldenState Warriors.
So that's a stunner.
I mean to go from one of thebest teams last year in the
conference to not making theplayoffs is a huge
disappointment for them andtheir fan base a great fan base,
(09:03):
by the way and of course, thefellow Rochester Royal
organization, former, former.
If you go into the reading, youstill see they still represent
the Rochester banner that hangsup there.
Kudos to.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
That might be their
curse.
They won one, and their curseis the fact that they have the
NBA logo on that championshipbanner.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Keep in mind that
they won one.
And oh no, no, their curse isthe fact that they have the nba
logo on that championship banner, because keep in mind that they
won in 1951.
So jerry west was a kid in 1951, he wasn't even in the nba um,
and the logo wasn't establisheduntil much later.
So the fact that they're usingthat as the logo inside of the
(09:44):
banner instead of the actualoriginal Rochester Warrior logo
is their curse, I see.
So get rid of that NBA logothat's on there, because that
didn't even exist at the timethey won the championship.
So that's bad luck, I see.
I see, we all know you playedin the NBA.
The NBA is the one sport that isso obsessed with its logo.
Like it doesn't matter.
Like you can buy a Nike shirtand it'll have like the team
logo this way, and then like Iwant to see the NBA logo there
(10:06):
too and they'll have like theNBA logo.
It's like huge On the back ofthe hats.
Instead of saying like the NFL,say like Atlanta Falcons or
Buffalo Bills or something likethat NBA is like fuck it.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
NBA logo right there
at the game.
Forget, they love their logo.
What are you going to do?
Love it?
Hey, it's the shield overeverything else, or the logo
over everything else.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
I ended up just going
off a rant about their logo and
how they overuse it all thetime.
But yeah, no, the first roundof playoffs is the one thing.
It's just kind of the get-upmovement.
The people aren't going to mostof your eight seeds, seven
seeds, six seeds don't usuallywin these.
(10:49):
Miami did beat the Bucs lastyear as the eight seed Miami
made it to the championship lastyear.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
They did.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
They did.
That was an incredible run.
Probably one of my favoriteteams of all times is last
year's team.
Hey, I'm sure A valid effort.
I know Jimmy Butler's notplaying this series but you know
, god bless the Heat man.
They're doing all right.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
I love that team.
So you don't like talking aboutthe Lakers, but you know, on
paper, the thing that I don'tlike talking about the Lakers is
that On paper they would havebeen.
I mean on paper, notmatchup-wise.
I mean matchup-wise yeah.
On paper.
They're supposed to match upvery well against the Nuggets,
(11:35):
are they?
Yeah, on paper Because theyhave the bodies.
It's just that they need to goget what's his face.
Go ahead, howard Dwight Howard, dwight Howard, dwight Howard.
Dwight Howard could defendsupposedly could defend Anthony
Davis is not going to be able toJoker very well.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
He's not going to
defend Joker very well.
Anthony Davis is not going tobe as physical.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Well, that is their
downfall, that's their Hercules
here.
They have the bodies, butthey're not that physical of a
team.
The number one thing, though ifyou're a gambling man out there
, man or woman, jimmy Butler'snot playing, but for some reason
, the Boston Celtics kryptoniteis the Miami Heat Not right now.
(12:18):
They're down by 12.
It's early, it's very early.
They could always come back andstart hitting their shots and
by the time, you know, bostoncan be shaken and be uh, you
know, be shaken and starvingover the ghost, the ghost of
miami, miami past.
Yeah, that's that, that'swhat's gonna happen, and they
(12:41):
will fold and be like what adisappointment.
You guys are supportingeverybody's.
Everybody that you would speakof is saying Boston, and Boston
is going to go against theNuggets in the championship.
That's what everybody and theirgrandma is saying.
But if Miami ends up pullingthis off and beating them, I
mean, look, oklahoma City'sthunder is no joke.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
It's no joke.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
But they're a younger
team.
What about the MinnesotaTimberwolves man Younger team in
comparison?
The Nuggets are well-seasoned.
They've been there, they knowwhat to expect championship-wise
, so you can expect them to comein and play their game.
I don't know man.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Minnesota's no joke.
Man Edwards is a beast and theywore their throwbacks for game
one yesterday.
Thank God, what a beautifuljersey.
I hope they continue to wearthat throughout the playoffs.
They'll get some good luck.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
The jersey is what
wins the game.
Thanks, andrew, for sure.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
You said that you got
to manifest the.
You got to manifest what youwant.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
You put it out there
into the universe.
What a beautiful jersey.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Go ahead, you put it
out there into the universe.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
So that's that.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
We'll continue to
update you guys on the nba
playoffs, but we're gonna jumpto another subject here.
It's not football season, butthe draft is coming and the
consensus number one is calebwilliams and the consensus
number two is jayden daniels.
Uh, to washington, thewashington.
Uh, commanders, and uh, ifthat's how it works out, that's
(14:04):
how it works out, that's how itworks out.
But you know, you can rememberthe draft where it was Sam
Donald, baker Mayfield, joshRosen and Josh.
Allen and Josh Allen.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
He was like a no-miss
quarterback when he came out of
USC.
Who, sam Donald?
Speaker 1 (14:23):
They talked him out
so much and Cleveland Brown
ended up choosing Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold ended up going to
the Jets and you know, look athow things work out.
It goes to show you, Josh Allenhe wasn't in that draft, was he
?
Speaker 2 (14:38):
No, he was.
Josh Allen was in that draft.
He was pick seven.
He was seven.
I don't.
I remember it was that drafttoo.
It was that draft ClevelandBrowns could have had Josh Allen
huh.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Cleveland Browns
could have had Lamar Jackson too
.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Oh yeah, Lamar.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Jackson, lamar
Jackson, josh Allen were in that
draft Baker Mayfield, samDonald Josh.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Rose went in that
draft too.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Rose and Flamedown.
I know All those teams becausethey all went before Lamar
Jackson Josh Allen, I believe.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Josh, yes, josh Allen
was 7 or 11, and Lamar.
Jackson was 32 to the Ravens.
So I mean, when it comes to theNFL, it's match.
Basically it's a marriage.
Who do you match the best?
Who do you work out with thebest?
Who's ready for you to succeedand set you?
Do you match the best?
(15:24):
Who do you work out with thebest?
Who's ready for you to succeedand set you up for success?
The best that's, you know howthat goes.
But, uh, all the players really.
So I'm saying I'm talking aboutthat draft, to talk about this
draft, this coming up draft.
You got.
You got, uh, michael phoenix jr.
You got, uh, may.
You got Jaden Daniels, you gotCaleb Williams.
(15:46):
So two players succeeded in thedraft for Josh Allen and Lamar
Jackson, and three, well, bakerMayfield, so-and-so.
Sam Donald is going to be acareer backup.
Josh Rosen was a career backup, but now he's looking for a job.
So I'm saying that to say thisthere's all this hype for
(16:10):
quarterbacks every other year orso that, oh, we got the best,
or this is the best draft classever.
And you pick Time will tell, though you get top five teams.
They all pick quarterbacks, andmaybe two succeed at max and
three or four flame out, andthen you're like what happened?
(16:31):
What happens is you teams.
Yes, you're well built.
You have all the research done.
You got all the professionalsthat you could put into place,
put in play so that they cananalyze, for you get everything
and every dirt on each player,so that way you make sure that
the player fits your system, butfor some reason you always get
(16:52):
it wrong.
Why is that?
Why, as a professional teams, with all that analytics and all
the firms that you can hire tomake sure that you get these
picks right, that it justdoesn't work out.
Some of these players are justnot NFL-ready players.
They're not capable.
Could it be that they draftthem and they say you have to
(17:13):
start right away, instead ofdoing the way that Green Bay's
been doing it for years?
Draft Aaron Rodgers sat him.
Draft Jordan Love sat him.
And now Jordan Love is going togo into his sophomore year as a
starter.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
That doesn't usually
always happen like that anymore.
I mean, you have people likePeyton Manning started right
away, right, and they just losta lot of games their first year
yes, right.
So I don't really buy into thatall the time.
It's just you's.
You know, obviously, if you'regoing to start your rookie
quarterback, just make sure thatyou have a decent offensive
line that's going to keep themupright.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
If you're going to
start your rookie quarterback,
make sure that, like Chicago hasdone right now, they got two
top end receivers for him, theygot two top end tight ends for
him, for Caleb Williams to comein and they got a
defensive-minded coach and theysigned a running back.
That's going to take some heatoff of him and hopefully that
(18:16):
works out.
I mean, they're setting him upfor success right there.
If you're going to start him,set him up for success, don't
have him throw 30 times a game.
Have him throw maybe anywherebetween 10 to 20 passes a game
10 to 20 passes Jeez.
Yeah, that's 10 to 20.
You could throw down the fieldonce you start getting
(18:37):
comfortable as the season goeson.
They'll get a flag.
Yeah, you could get a flag withthe new rules no, no hip
tackling anymore.
So for fantasy football players, segue no hip tackling.
Tight ends of your guy, runningbacks of your guys go heavy,
tight and heavy running backs.
If you're gonna draft infantasy football in the ppr
(18:59):
leagues, make sure you getrunning backs that you know know
are pass-catching backs as well, great pass-catching backs, and
it'll take you a long waybecause no hip tackling anymore.
No, dropping down to your hip.
Some of these guys could runforever, especially those
big-ass tight ends.
They could go because they'rebig bodies, they're big and tall
(19:20):
.
So that's that with thequarterback situation.
But the other situation at handthe Buffalo Bills are looking
to sell 25%, the Pagoulas, to beexact.
The owners of the Buffalo Billsare looking to sell 25% of
their stake 25% stake that theyhave in Buffalo Bills to whoever
(19:42):
is the highest bidder.
And some people are thinking aToronto person is going to come
and buy 25% and the BuffaloBills are going to move to
Toronto.
What says you?
What do you say?
Speaker 2 (19:55):
They're moving to
Toronto.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
They're building a
stadium across the street.
No, they're building a stadiumacross the street, but with 25%
gone, eventually the team maymove to Toronto.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
No, dude, they just
signed a lease for like 50 years
and they're staying in Buffalo.
They're not going anywhere.
I know what you want to do isget hey, if Toronto wants to be
on the team, great, let's getsome of that corporate money.
I mean, dude, they're an hourand a half from Toronto.
Yeah, why not tap into thatmoney, that market?
Absolutely.
Get all those corporatesponsorships.
Sell those box seats you gotselling over there, right, yep,
(20:29):
it's fine, but they're notleaving.
They're not leaving.
Buff, are you kidding?
And where are they going to putthe same?
In Toronto?
You know, put the Rogers Centerthere.
He had games there.
That was a disaster.
Nah, dude.
And most people, especially ifyou go to Ontario, a lot of them
are Buffalo Bills fans and noneof them want the team to move
to Canada.
Why would they want to do that?
They said half the fun is goingacross the border, going to
(20:50):
Europe.
They're like, yeah, you guys, yeah, okay, they loved it.
Why would they want to do thatin Toronto?
No way, it's not happening.
It sounds like something I wasin a conversation I was having a
friend with years ago when hewas scared they were going to
move to Toronto.
They're not ever moving toToronto, guys, just relax.
They had their preseason game, their regular season game there,
(21:12):
like once a year Not once, wasthat like they're not?
Speaker 1 (21:16):
moving.
Not once was I like okay, okay, well, the next topic at hand,
then, is Kansas City.
Kansas City Chiefs gettingdenied their stadium funds.
What's going to happen withKansas City?
Boo hoo, like they're suchwhiny.
No, no, no, no, no, forget that.
Will Kansas City move?
Will the Chiefs move?
Will?
Somebody else buy them and takethem someplace else?
Speaker 2 (21:36):
well, they're not.
No, not buy them.
Will another city offer them astadium?
Will somebody else?
Speaker 1 (21:39):
buy them and take
them someplace else.
No, they're not.
Not buy them.
No, not buy them.
Will another city offer them astadium fully built on the city?
Just come over.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Probably Really.
So Kansas City Chiefs will notbe in Kansas anymore.
They'll probably move to thestate of Kansas.
They'll go 20 miles east andactually be real.
They'll live in Instead ofstaying in Missouri.
Yeah, because people don't knowthis, there's a Kansas City
Kansas and a Kansas CityMissouri.
(22:06):
I never so.
They could no, we all.
They could move to Kansas CityKansas and still be the Kansas.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
City Chiefs they
could.
But who's in Kansas City, who'sin Kansas City, kansas, willing
to pony up all that money forthe stadium?
I guess they may stand patting.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Maybe the University
of Kansas will do it, or is it
Kansas University, the Jayhawks?
Well, let's see how that goes.
I think the NFL should alwaysprotect its brand and you can't
move certain teams out of thatcity.
And if the NFL is like hey look, man, we make, we print money,
(22:49):
you can pay off any of thesestadiums in a couple of years.
They do print money.
They should stop asking forpublic money.
Allow the public to use thatmoney to have better schools and
better roads to get.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
Why reach into your
own pocket when you can get it
for free?
That's what they're thinking.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Right, because
there's only so many lobster and
steak meals.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
you can have.
You don't need another yacht.
They could care less.
They're looking out for theirown interests, that is all they
don't deserve money.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
This is one of those
People like that don't deserve
money.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
Teams do not deserve
money.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
They make way more
money.
These owners out there justneed to try to do whatever they
can to get public funding.
It's like dude you guys make, you print money, you guys get
paycheck.
You get a paycheck for like$300 million to every owner
before the season even begins, just from a lot of the TV rights
, and that's just that, notincluding anything else.
And you guys are whining aboutpublic money.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
It's free money.
If you can get it for free, whyfight against?
Speaker 2 (23:56):
it Because you want
to keep your team in a certain
location, because you're notliving forever, so enjoy your
life.
Enjoy it where it's mostly,where there's roots and it's
well-received.
That's why.
That's why that's why all theseowners should always just be
like hey, look, that's cool, man, let me show out $500 million
(24:18):
for this or this or that, because I don't ever want to see
this team leave, because you,the fan base, have given me a
great lifestyle and my familyand my generations to come.
So thank you, fan base, fordoing that for me and my family.
So now I'm going to take someof this money that I don't
really need, because I don'tneed to buy another yacht, and
I'm going to reinvest it intoyou all.
So this is our thank you forhooking me and my family and
(24:41):
generations up for decades tocome.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
I mean, that's a good
thought, good idea, but….
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Yeah, that's why all
anyone over disagrees with that
Just go away.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Will you ever see a
briefcase of money on the ground
?
Hey, look, I mean Jerry Jonescredit to him.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
I believe he mostly
paid for that stadium.
The New York Giants and theJets that sitting was privately
funded.
The San Francisco 49ers thatsitting was privately funded.
So, yeah, owners should stopbeing greedy.
There are I mean, the SanFrancisco Giants when they built
their ballpark privately funded.
You know a lot of respect tothese people who just go hey,
(25:19):
you know what, I'm not going tobother with the public funding,
we're going to do this ourselves.
Like Miami Dolphins.
You know, when they had to,when they were on renovations, I
know Steven Ross was likelooking to get public funding.
Miami's like no, you know, youcould do it yourself.
And they did.
And the Dolph, uh redid the uhold dolphin stadium.
(25:39):
It looks great, they did agreat job.
But you're gonna start to seethat more and more now and you
know what I I'm gonna start.
You know as much as I love, thebuffalo bills is like I'll
always have a a little tip ofthe cap and root for teams and
the owners that like say youknow what I'll pay for it, don't
worry about it.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
I mean it makes sense
.
I have a for those.
They have the money and theycould definitely write it off in
taxes.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
So if Mr Hunt from
the Kansas City Chiefs wants to
move the Kansas City Chiefs, which he won't do, Kansas City
Kansas.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Yeah, he won't do
that, but if he wants, to move
them to Utah, see ya.
Utah Chiefs, can you imagine.
But they won.
But keeping in line with thefootball not football season,
but with football, crazy.
We got breaking news happenedduring the week that Robert
(26:25):
Kraft called Arthur Blank, theowner of the Atlanta Falcons,
telling him that you should nothire Bill Because you know
Bill's not a nice guy.
Bill's disloyal, bill's this, bill's that, because you know
bill's not a nice guy.
Bills disloyal, bills this,bills that.
But in the regular world ofregular human beings, no former
(26:45):
employer that call a currentemployer, employ a potentially
current employee employer andtell them how terrible you are
of a person.
That doesn't happen.
That's a lawsuit if it makes, Imean if it comes to the light
of day.
But it happened and I was alittle bit like whoa.
I thought that, you know, Ithought they protected each
(27:09):
other and kept stuff under wrapsand how did this come out?
Speaker 2 (27:12):
It's not there
anymore, so it's a new movement
over there in New England.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
It is a new movement.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
Well, you got to just
wish him luck, because if all
this happens and you know, therewas no reason to make that
phone call you bring moreattention to yourself
unnecessarily when you couldjust Arthur Brink is a
successful business guy and ifhe wants to make that decision,
let him go make that decision.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Arthur Blank is
looking for a championship.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
He figures Bill
Belichick could bring, should
have made a trade for JustinFields Rather than go out for
Kirk Cousins.
Kirk Cousins, just give him allthat money.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Kirk Cousins is a
lucky man.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Look at the Steelers.
The Falcons could have donethat.
Save some money, get someonewho's not injury prone.
Well, they didn't want him.
So they're not going to win achampionship with Bill or not
with Bill.
It's not happening.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
No, they're not going
to win a championship.
You might win your division.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
I mean, it's just you
and the Buccaneers.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
It's a weak division,
it's always been.
But I have to say this BillBelichick should not get another
NFL job period.
No, no, no.
Here's why.
Okay, bill, there'sexpectations of him coming in
and turning the culture aroundand turning your team into a
(28:28):
Super Bowl contender.
That's not necessarily true.
He was in New England three, four years later after Tom Brady
left.
They just kept getting worseand worse and worse every year
and things didn't seem to turnaround.
And this brand of football thathe plays, it's outdated now
Because teams, it's an offensive, higher power kind of football.
(28:51):
You know, teams are throwing, slinging the ball around up and
down the fields and it's not, like you know, a defensive
shutdown.
The last time Bill Belichickwon a Super Bowl was against the
Rams and it was a defensivebattle.
It wasn't, like you know, anoffensive showing.
And the last time the Patriotslost a Super Bowl was an
offensive showing.
Tom Brady had well over 500yards, four to five touchdowns
(29:14):
and he, just like he was spent.
He did everything within hispower to win a football game and
he didn't win.
So if you bring bill belichickin in hopes that you know he's
gonna change our culture, he'sgonna get us to be super bowl
contenders.
That's not his game.
His game is ball control andlet the defense come in and win
(29:35):
us our games.
Or let let let's drive the balldown 90 yards down the field,
kick a field goal, seal it, winthe game.
So for that reason alone, thegame has passed him by.
In that sense, he can come inand be a defensive coordinator,
but being a head coach, I don'tsee that in his near future.
(29:56):
I don't think that shouldhappen again for him because,
for the main reasons that I'vespoken about, he comes in, he's
old school and my way or no way,and you want to rule and have a
hand in every single pot in thebuilding.
You can't do that.
Focus on your job and do whatyou got to do.
And if you can't focus on yourjob, then there's no need really
(30:18):
to have you around, because nowyou're making everybody else
feel uptight and uncomfortableand people may not be able to do
their job because billbelichick has this clout of you
know, six time a six-timewinning super bowl champion, and
you know you.
It comes with clout and it comeswith lots of people that are
(30:39):
going to be like yes, yes, yes, tell you yes to everything
because you have the cachet, youhave the resume.
New era of offensive leaning.
Uh, football games where thedefenders, you know, they
literally flag you for lookingat a receiver wrong or they flag
(31:05):
you for tapping thequarterback's helmet.
So, bill, go become an analyst.
Go become a go become ananalyst somewhere.
Go do what you know how to do.
Go go retire, go do whatever ityou know.
It's a new era in football,basically.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
That'd be funny if
Bill Belichick was listening to
this and he's like no thanks, amadou.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
If he says that, jump
on the boat now, jump on the
boat man, seven rings or six hehas.
I saw this podcast called Fan.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Faces with 10 views
on it and we have more than 10
views.
Don't disrespect us.
I'm a dude who told me to gohang it up.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
You should hang it up
, bill.
The way you play football is nolonger the way football is
played.
Hence Andy Reid's having somuch more success in this era
than he did.
He says Patrick Mahomes.
Yes, he has Patrick Mahomes.
The match works well.
They work well together.
That marriage is beautifultogether and they're better than
winning their games.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
It's almost like the
Patriots.
They win their games by a lot.
They do when they need to thisseason.
They're like the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
They don't blow
anybody up, Andrew.
This season it didn't happenbecause they didn't have.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Game of Super.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Bowl that they blew a
team out in.
No, they had high scoringagainst.
San Francisco was the highestscoring game and how much did
they win by?
I don't remember, but it wasthe highest scoring game.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
The only time they
ever blew a team out was against
the Minnesota Vikings in SuperBowl IV.
That was it.
It was like 23-7.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Different coach,
different era.
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
It's not like they
even like with Tom Brady and the
Patriots.
It's not like they blew anybodyout.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
No, the Super Bowls
are more run and gun versus game
control, ball control.
They're slinging the ball, moreYou're throwing it.
Patrick Mahomes in the SuperBowl against the San Francisco
49ers, he had a fourth and 19.
He threw the ball deep to TyreeCale.
Would you do that in a BillBelichick game?
Wouldn't Bill Belichick justpunt it man and say, okay, we'll
(32:57):
settle for field position?
Wouldn't he?
Speaker 2 (32:58):
Remember when they
had Randy Moss, though man yeah
and they lost those Super Bowls.
They lost them.
They only went to that one.
No, they went to two.
No, that was Randy Moss.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Yeah, just that one.
They went to one, but they lostto the.
Giants twice.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Yes, but that was
2007 was the one year that they
went, and then they went againin 2011.
And Randy Moss was on that team.
I don't believe it, he wasn't.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
Okay, but anyways.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
It was their one time
.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
Anyways.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Highest scoring
offense.
I think it was of all time.
Most quarterback.
Was it most touchdowns thrown?
I don't think he did.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
No, that's Peyton
Manning In that season.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
So he must have broke
it, because Randy Moss by
himself had 23 touchdowns thatseason with Tom Brady.
So Peyton Manning went toDenver and he had toys and he
had like 50 plus 5,000 yards.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
Yeah, it was amazing.
Touchdowns crazy.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
So back to the world
of basketball.
Bill Belichick, hang it up, butit's all good.
Back to the world of basketball.
The USA is out on a revengetour.
They didn't win the FIBANational Championship.
Nobody cares about it.
Somebody cares.
So they got back.
They got the band of all-starstogether.
They got LeBron James, they gotSteph Curry, kevin Durant, they
(34:18):
got who's who and NBA royaltythat's playing right now to go
represent the United States inParis To win this Olympic in
Paris, the Summer Games in Paris.
The United States is revved andready to go and they're going
to just smash everybody'sfreaking Thanos.
I don't think so.
Dude, the International Games isfor real.
It is for real, but it's an NBAAll-Star team.
(34:41):
If they don't play, every teamthey send is an NBA All-Star
team.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
These are first-team All-NBAAll-Stars, not like second team
or whatever.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
Who would be your
starting five from the list
they've provided you?
Speaker 1 (34:54):
got Steph.
You got LeBron.
Steph could play off the ball, lebron could be like your PG,
your point guard, and then yougot.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
Jason Williams.
What Is Leonard starting?
Kawhi Leonard, is he going tostart?
You need me to start five.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
You could have him in
there.
Kawhi Leonard doesn't need toplay much, but when he plays he
makes an impact.
Of course he does.
He's awesome.
So, with that in mind, this isa revenge team.
They team, they have a dreamteam.
This is a revenge team Becausethey're now.
Are you calling it the revengeteam or is they calling it?
No, I'm calling it the revengeteam.
Oh, you're calling it?
Yes, I'm calling it.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
You heard it first.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
It's the revenge team
, because they're like we're not
losing to nobody else.
They're probably going to drop100 plus on every single person,
every single team that they'replaying.
And it's going to be nuts, because they got the start.
They have Joel Embiid on thatteam.
Joel Embiid is healthy.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
He got injured again.
Game one.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
Yeah, I feel bad for
him.
So the revenge team is comingto Paris 2024.
They're looking to just smackeverybody.
Tano, smash anyone andeverybody in their way.
It'll be fun to watch.
It'll be fun when the USdominates.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
This could be your
hindsight 2020, to see how well
they do and how they smasheverybody.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
Well, hindsight this
2020 will get to that topic once
those games start, but thehindsight 2020 will be in the
NBA basketball season would beif the Boston Celtics lose to
the Miami Heat in the firstround.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
Boy.
I would love to think thatthey're at about 15 points right
now in the first half.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
I mean anything's
possible right Miami's eclipsing
that to Boston.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
Again, Jimmy Butler
is not playing this series.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Even without Jimmy
Butler, they've managed to do
things.
They've managed to get the teamgoing.
They're not going to be numberone.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
Hey look, I hope
you're right 1,000%, one of the
greatest things I ever witnessedin my life.
This team, without Jimmy Butler, can beat the Boston Celtics.
I will give.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Don't promise
anything.
Big time tip of the cap.
Don't promise anythingmonetarily because if you do of
cash, don't promise anythingmonetarily because if you do, I
will collect.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
Oh, it was tip of the
cap.
I'm not going to get cash.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
I thought you were
going to talk about some cash.
Now I'm telling you I'll giveyou 10 bucks.
If they win, I'll give you 10bucks.
You can come collect 10 bucks.
Whatever it is, however it is,I'll come to collect, I'll take
you to McDonald's, I'll let youget whatever you want.
Nah, g, I'm not a McDonald'skind of guy.
Man, wendy's, yeah, wendy's,wendy's, wendy's, wendy's.
(37:25):
You better pay us for pluggingyou, plugging yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
Tim.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Hortons baby Duck
roast.
Anyhow in popular culture wegot my boy, drizzy Drake, doing
a Thanos here.
Man, it's Drake versuseverybody, pretty much Drake
versus Rick Ross, drake versusKendrick, drake versus Metro
Boomin.
Why is?
He making fun of Rick Ross.
No, they all.
They don't like him.
They're going against him.
(37:51):
They don't like Drake.
Yeah, they unfollowed him.
What did Drake say?
Now, according to the rumorsout there, god's plan.
Is this all God's plan?
Oh, sure, so it's future, it'sMetro booming, it's Kendrick,
it's Rick.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Ross.
He's going after Kendrick andfuture also.
Really, why Kendrick?
Speaker 1 (38:14):
made a song in this
Drake.
Is he bored out there inToronto?
No, no, no, no, no, no.
You haven't kept up with thenews.
The news is, all these guyswere like, no, we don't deal
with Drake anymore.
They all unfollowed him onsocial media.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
It's like everybody's
15.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
They unfollowed him.
They're talking trash about him, they're doing diss tracks on
him.
And now Drake had a song outcalled Push and get a push-up
and he had that song's about.
Yep, he had a line on every badsong.
He had a line on there aboutkendrick lamar.
Really, yep, he's like drop andgive me 50, meaning every time
(38:56):
kendrick drops a song he has togive top dog entertainment% of
his earnings from each song.
So he's saying you have arookie contract even though
you're a veteran in the game.
So that's what's happening inthat world.
And Metro booming.
(39:16):
He says Metro, shut your mouthup and go make some drums.
And Metro came back with a beat, you know, using some drums.
And Future did not respond.
Rick Ross did.
Rick Ross calls Drake.
Do you laugh?
He's just like laughing.
What do you call him who?
He calls him BBL Drizzy and hecalls him White Boy.
White Boy.
(39:36):
He's like Drake got his life ofsuction done.
Drake got his nose fixed.
Drake is not as rich as a cross.
Who cares?
Speaker 2 (39:52):
They really give a
rip.
Who makes more money?
Speaker 1 (39:54):
Yeah, it's a game of
embarrassment.
Let me show you how wealthy Iam.
And then you got what's itcalled?
Chris Brown against quavo, chris brown, quavo was like
don't be mad at me because Itook your girl.
And quavo was like I mean, chris brown, quavo was like
don't be mad at me because Itook your girl.
And chris brown came back notwith a singing song, not with a
(40:17):
singing this song.
He came back with a rap.
This song chris brownaps hedoes.
He told Quavo you think you'rea tough guy.
When Offset, not Offset, what'sit called?
When your bandmate died, everybody was wishing it was you
and not the guy that died.
(40:38):
And then also Chris Brown saidyou think you're the man because
you are with my ex.
I was with your girl while youwere with her.
I spent time with your girlwhile you were with her.
We did some things.
Yeah, I'm sure they had sex.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
Well they had some
Usually what happens, maybe?
Speaker 1 (40:59):
So the rap beefs
they're about.
Uh, the two guys that sing themost in their songs are out
dueling the rest of them thatcall themselves so-called
rappers, because drake sings alot in his songs now and chris
brown's known for singing, andnow he's out there.
Does chris brown and drake havebeef with each other?
(41:20):
They did, but not right now,not at the moment.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
I just listened to
that song.
No Guidance, not too long ago.
It's a good song yeah yeah, drake wrote that.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
Drake wrote that.
Yeah, it's a good song.
It's a good song.
Drake writes for a bunch ofpeople and Drake also recently
put out first diss track that heput out.
Kendrick probably doesn't care.
Drake put out another diss songand this time he used AI.
He wrote lyrics for Tupac, wrote lyrics for Snoop Dogg's AI
(41:50):
voices and put them on his song.
He rapped them, but they usedSnoop Dogg's voice and cadence
and Drake rapped on it as well, and that's all disencantric.
So the heat is on right now.
Let's see where it goes.
Nowhere, probably not.
(42:11):
Maybe, as well as selling somerecords.
They're definitely selling itbecause we're definitely paying
attention and the streamingnumbers are up high for Drake.
Streaming numbers are comingback for Drake.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
Why didn't you make
that much money?
I think I was listening toSnoop Dogg sing.
I think he had some sort ofsong that was like a billion
views on Spotify.
Why can't I say the wordSpotify right?
Yeah, it was like no, it wasSnoop Dogg, and so I think the
royalty paycheck was likesomething like $44,000.
Speaker 1 (42:40):
But things are going
to change because the government
is going to pass a law whereyou get a penny because it's
half a penny Less than half apenny For every view, every
stream, but now you're going toget a penny for every stream.
Wow, so you get good money.
That's actually very good money.
Yeah, wow, glad I'm in themusic game, right?
Yeah, you got some good artiststoo, man.
Yeah, we just got it.
(43:01):
Shout out to Final Cuts Media.
Well, so, I didn't know, we dothings, but we got to get our
money up.
Final Cuts Media, mr CEO, needsa partner so that way we can
make our songs big.
We can, because the thing isyou make the songs, you also
have to pump money into them asfar as advertising goes, because
(43:26):
people may hear it and like it,but you need enough people to
hear it and like it and share it.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
All, right, well,
andrew any other items on your
agenda.
Quickly, I want to give a nicecompliment to the Detroit Lions
for their uniform, their newuniforms.
They look absolutely great Fortheir uniform, their new
uniforms they look absolutelygreat.
It's the 80s and 90s style butthey kind of just modernized it
just a teeny bit and they lookgreat.
The New York Jets I hate to sayit, but great improvement, my
(43:53):
gosh.
I know you're just pretty muchtaking the 80s style jersey, but
the simplicity of just thegreen and the white is so nice
and they brought back, in myopinion, the best helmet they
ever had in their history.
So good job for both of them.
I think the Denver Broncos andthe Texans are releasing theirs
(44:14):
tomorrow and Tuesday and fromwhat I've heard in the links,
they both look horrible.
So the Jets and the Lions do itright.
We'll see how the Broncos andthe Texans do it.
I'm not expecting wonderfulthings from them, but hopefully
I'm wrong.
But other than that, everything's it's cool.
(44:36):
I can't wait for footballalready.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
Well, you can watch
football, there's still football
.
Usfl, no UFL already.
Well, you can watch football, there's still football USFL no
UFL.
No, united Football League ishappening.
No, no, you're not interested.
Speaker 2 (44:47):
No, no I got the
baseball playoffs to watch the
hockey playoffs.
Speaker 1 (44:50):
to watch Baseball
playoffs is a ways away.
No.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
The baseball season's

Okay, we got to go to Torontosoon.
