Ever been to a restaurant and felt like your wallet took a beating for a meal that barely filled a corner of your plate? I get it, and I'm not holding back on the topic of stingy portion sizes. Our latest show serves up a heaping helping of opinions on paying full price for half the satisfaction, and I'll even toss in my misadventures in NBA predictions—yes, I'm eating my words on the Boston vs. Indiana Pacers call. The world of sports isn't all about the score, though; it's also about the electric atmosphere and the fans who bring the heat with their superstitions and unshakeable team loyalty.

Switching courts, we lace up for a chat about the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces and the strategic moves that are shaking up the basketball scene. The Mavericks' need for aggression and the Timberwolves' rebounding skills are on the table, along with a stick-and-puck session on the New York Rangers' slick moves. But don’t think we've forgotten the slower pace off the ice; baseball’s reluctance to evolve gets a run-through before we close out with a spotlight on the impact of college sports' shift to a business model, including the potential effects on non-revenue sports and Title IX.

Wrapping up with a nod to pop culture, we weigh in on the gravity of celebrity scandals and the unstoppable force that is public opinion. As you fire up your own grill this Memorial Day weekend and enjoy the sizzle of a good barbecue, remember to turn up the volume on this episode—where sports passion, cultural commentary, and a little bit of grill envy come together. Cheers to a weekend well spent, and thanks for bringing us along for the ride!

Speaker 1 (00:02):
I'm going to show you how to make a simple, easy and
easy cake.
I'm going to use a cake mold.
I'm going to make a cake mold.
I'm going to make a cake mold.

(00:52):

that with.

Andrew, what's up man?
Welcome to the show, andrew.
Thank you, appreciate you.

(01:34):
Fan patients in the building.
We're back for the week.
We're back for the week forsure.
Got a lot of topics to hit, lotsof social stuff to talk about.
My first social thing to talkabout is the food the portion
size, portion sizes, portionsizes.
I recently went to a restaurant.
I will not name you unlessyou're sponsoring me.

(01:55):
Since you're not, I will talkbad about you, just not name you
.
Anyhow, I went.
You know, I spent about 30bucks or so, got the kids some
food, got myself some food.
I mean I spent probably maybe$15 on my meal and I, like I
said, you know, I wanted, youknow, a medium sized burger, and

(02:17):
they came in they gave me apalm size.
See my palm, I mean this istiny.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
There's a medium-sized burger.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
No, there's a medium-sized.
They're like what size do youwant?
They asked me what size Iwanted.
I said medium, and of courseyou know your burger's supposed
to match your, you know?
Okay, they give you this bigold cup to drink, but a tiny,
tiny, tiny-ass burger.
I can't stand it.
Stop European European sizingus.
I want food, I love food, Iwant to eat Maybe you went to

(02:48):
the wrong restaurant.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
There's a lot of places that overload you.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Okay, I love food, but I'm particularly where I get
my food from.
Not everything is okay.
For me to get my food from theplace rhyme with Schmurker King.
What me?

(03:13):
To get my food from the place?
Rhyme with Schmerker King?
Yeah, but I won't give you thename.
So Schmerker King.
Their food is tiny man.
I'm a big boy, I eat, so pleasegive me my portions correctly.
If I'm paying 15 to $20 forfood, I need my food.
I need all of it, thank you.
Thank you very much.
Let's get into these topics.
We got the NBA ConferenceChampionships happening.
We got the Hockey ConferenceChampionships happening.

(03:36):
We got women's basketball Abouta weekend.
About four games.
When I say women's basketball,caitlin Clark conversation.
Not all of women's basketball, not all of the WNBA.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Las Vegas Aces man, they're going to win the
championship again who's theircompetition?

Speaker 1 (03:54):
You don't know because you don't watch.
I do watch.
You watch the WNBA footballleague, you do, dude.
I used to go to the Miami Soulgames back in the day.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I know Miami Soul games back in the day, miami.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Soul, orlando, miracle, listen, you are If the
miracle win, it's a miracle.
You are in the minority, butlet's get into it.
We got the Western ConferenceChampionship, the Eastern
Conference Championship inbasketball, but before that I
had a conversation by myself inthe last podcast.
So hindsight, I'm looking backHindsight's 20-20.

(04:26):
Everything behind me I can seeclearly now.
I thought Boston was going tohave a tough matchup against the
Indiana Pacers.
I was wrong.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
I think it has been a tough matchup.
They clearly could have lostgame one and they clearly could
have lost game three.
It's more about Indiana choking?

Speaker 1 (04:44):
I think no clearly could have lost and not losing.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
You're right, they didn't lose.
They didn't lose the game, butlet's not make it sound like
Boston's just steamrolling themthrough.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
No, Boston's not steamrolling, but Boston's up
2-1.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Correct Boston's up 3-0.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Okay, boston's up 3-0 .
So I was wrong.
I mean, it's a wrap.
Listen, when you say a toughmatchup, even though it's close,
and you end up squeaking it out, it's not so tough.
Yeah, you battled, but you endup always putting it out there,
you know.
So that makes that, makes mycomment pretty much null and
void for all intents andpurposes, because had it been a

(05:24):
tougher matchup, it would haveprobably been, you know, 3-2 in
the series instead of 3-0, right, yeah, but it's not that way,
it's 3-0.
And you can take out that broomright now and just be like hey,
indiana, rick Carlisle, I don'tsee the end of the world.
Rick Carlisle had won achampionship with.
Dirk beat LeBron James, thealmighty LeBron James and Chris

(05:47):
Bosh and the Miami Heat, theHeetles as they call them.
He beat them with Dirk Nowitzki.
So I was assuming, due to apast championship experience, he
would come in with a team thatwas prepared to do battle with
the Boston Celtics, come in witha team that was prepared to do

(06:09):
battle with the Boston Celtics.
And so far, yeah, tyreeHalliburton didn't play
yesterday.
No, they were up by 18 points.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
They played very well no, no, no, halliburton didn't
play who's a star.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
I understand that bases were up eight like 18
points, I think it was yeah, they played well, but you know
you expect them to not play sowell without their start.
But they played decent and theystill ended up losing.
So I thought, you know Indianahas the upper hand with their
coaching, whereas Boston's coach, you know he's made it to the

(06:36):
playoffs, he's made it to thechampionships but hasn't won one
yet.
And I thought, you know,coaching-wise, with Indiana
having that advantage, thatwould be the reason why the
matchups would be tough, right, but if Boston's up 3-0, yeah,
it's tough when we're playing, but Boston always manages to
pull away, except when I playthe Heat.
Well, they taught the Heat alesson this year.

(06:59):
So, yeah, no, jerry Butler, butthat's another story and all in
the void.
So the Eastern ConferenceChampionship, you know it may be
done sooner than later, whereasthe Western Conference
Championship seems to be, youknow it's 2-0.
It's a matchup thing.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
It's 2-0 Dallas.
They went to Minnesota, won twostraight games.
Minnesota was undefeated intheir throwback jerseys which
should be their primary jerseysthey should stop doing
throwbacks and they wereundefeated in Boston.
And then the Mavs came in andwon both games on their court
wearing those jerseys.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
What people are saying is the Mavs have two
closers in Luka and Kyrie.
And Kyrie was never.
I mean, people always thoughthe could have been a one, but he
left, left the Cavaliers, wentto Boston Nothing much happened
there.
He left Boston, went toBrooklyn Nets Nothing happened

(07:53):
there.
That actually was a disaster ofa team for him to be on and he
was supposedly the leader.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
He also got injured a lot, and then he the the covid
thing was going on and he was itwas a lot of.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
It was a lot of misfortunes happening, a lot of
misfortunes.
And you know, we didn't believein him anymore as fans.
But I believed in him as anindividual player, but I didn't
believe in him as a team leader.
So when he landed with themavericks I thought that, uh,
you know, eh, maybe they aregood, maybe they're're not good,
maybe him and Luka fit, maybethey don't fit, da da, da, da da

(08:28):
.
But him and Luka, year two, they're looking great together.
They sure are.
Kyrie's playing his positionperfect and Luka's doing what
Luka does perfectly.
And I mean they're seasonedveterans and they're showing
that in the series and the younglegs in Minnesota.
They're seasoned veterans andthey're showing that in the

(08:48):
series and the young legs inMinnesota.
They're also feeling thepressure.
It's like, oh, we got to win.
They better win tonight theymight win tonight, but they
don't match up well against thisteam.
Why don't they match up?
Why don't they match up well?
Who's going to?
Kyrie is so twitchy?
You guard Kyrie all game.
I play defense.
You have no legs for offense.
You need somebody, a specialist.
That's like.
You know, Kyrie, I'm going toguard you.
I don't care about the points, and Anthony Edwards being the

(09:12):
guy to guard Kyrie doesn't quitework out well for the
Timberwolves Because now AnthonyEdwards is exerting a lot of
energy on defense.
Kyrie has a deep, deep bag onoffense.
He can switch it with bothhands in the air.
He can go up there and, justyou know, make you look silly.
What are you going?

Speaker 2 (09:29):
to do.
Rudy Gobert has been playingvery good defense lately.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Rudy.
Gobert's liability seems likein the series.
You think he's a liability.
He's a big body?

Speaker 2 (09:37):
No, he's a big body, it's going to be hard to take
the basket.
I mean he did go up to, hewalked to the top of the key to
guard Luka during that last play.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
In game two.
Luka nailed that in his face.
They shaked him, they baked him, they had him on skates.
That's what I'm talking about.
He's a liability.
You can't have him out there.
They just don't match up welltogether.
The Nuggets would have beatenthe Dallas Mavericks, but the
Timberwolves don't match up wellwith the Dallas Mavericks.
It seems like the two, kyrieand Luka, they just have their

(10:12):
way.
They make their own shots.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Do you feel like they can turn it around just the way
?
Because people were saying thatabout Denver Nuggets.
When the Minnesota Timberwolveswent into Denver and won game
one and two and then went backto Minnesota, people were saying
that was a wrap.
Denver went on to win threestraight games and then
Minnesota came back and won gamesix and seven.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
So I mean it's not technically over just because,
no, it's not impossible, it'sbeen done.
Brian James and the ClevelandCavaliers against the Gold State
Warriors that happened.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Down 3-1.
And they came back and won thatseries.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
They came back and won the championship.
Not that series, it's theseries, the championship.
They came back and won it.
It's true, the best series ofmy life.
That was awesome.
I believe in that.
But the advantage that they hadthen is LeBron James is a
veteran.
He's a well-seasoned veteran Onthe Timberwolves team.

(11:07):
There isn't one guy thatbesides Mike Conley, but he's
not.
He's not the reason why theywin all the time.
Anthony Edwards is the reasonwhy they win all the time If
they're winning.
He drives that bus.
He is like a point leader.
He does a bunch of extra thingsto get them going.
So If you don't have a seasonedveteran, that's like the reason
why you go.
You tend to not pull thoseseries out.

(11:29):
Pull those wins out that arenecessary for you to get to the
next stage, because sometimesyou just there's a will and a
want.
You've got to have both of themtogether to, like you know,
drive this bus and theTimberwolves bus.
Right now they lack theexperience of a seasoned veteran
and the Young Legs matchups isgetting to their heads and once

(11:51):
you start getting inside a youngdude's head, it's over.
Yeah, they might win a game ortwo, but what are you going to
do?
You know?

Speaker 2 (11:59):
We'll find out tonight.
I think obviously it's going tobe a ruckus crowd there in
Dallas, but I think MinnesotaTimberwolves have clearly shown
that they can win on the road, especially when they do that in
Denver against the defendingchampions at the time.
It's going to be a fun matchup.
I can't wait to watch thattonight.
But I see Minnesota winningthis game.

(12:20):
I don't see them losing threestraight games to the Dallas
Mavericks Because, look, theyhang in there with Dallas.
I don't think they're superiorover Minnesota.
I think Minnesota just needs tofind their groove and they'll
definitely get it back in.
Take it to the basket more Gotto be more aggressive and they
limit the amount of time theMavericks get their offensive

(12:42):
rebounds.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Well, I mean, I'll tell you this Sometimes, when
you've gotten in a team's head,yeah, they could win a game or
two and make it competitive.
But you just know that buttonto push to like take it all the
way home.
So Dallas may just know thatbutton to push in the
Timberwolves to hey guys, thanksfor coming.
But you know, did you get yourticket for Cancun yet?

(13:06):
Did you book your flight?
Did you make sure you put yourseat on the flight?
Did you want window aisle?
Did you pay for that?
Because if you haven't, niceseeing you, thanks for coming,
it's been a pleasure, but awaywe go.
So the Eastern and WesternConference Championships I mean,
if you looked at it, you know,as I mean as both teams are

(13:29):
coming in, you're thinking like, wow, there's no way the
Timberwolves would be, would bedown to 0 to 0 to 2 right now.
There's no way, because theycame in gangbusters, they beat
the champion, last year'schampion, and you know, and
that's a telltale sign sometimesof hey, watch out for me, watch
out for these, those guys, watch out for this team.

(13:49):
But right now the Timberwolvesare clinging and if they don't
win tonight it's going to bedifficult, bro, it's going to be
difficult, the energy will below for Game 4, and they will
get swept.
I mean I believe for allintents and purposes that they
would get swept and you know, and they would have.
I mean I believe for allintents and purposes that they'd

(14:12):
gone ahead and faced Boston ifI would have beaten Boston,
because their style of play isvery physical, so Boston seems
to me more finesse.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Yeah, they look, they live and die by the three
pointer.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
So either they're on that night or they're not, and
right now they're on, they'replaying, they're playing.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
they're playing that Right now.
They're on, they're playing,they're playing.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
They're playing that's cool.
So what is going on in theworld of hockey?
Andrew Hockey.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Well, right now, currently, the Panthers are
playing the New York Rangers.
It is 4-4, and if the Rangerslose this game, I am completely
going to get blamed for it.
I texted my friend when theRangers were up 4-2 because they
scored a shorthanded goal and Iwas like nuts he doesn't like
being texted during a hockeygame, he loves the New York
Rangers and right now, sincethat text, the Panthers have

(14:56):
scored twice.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Tie it up, I will get playing.
He believes in bad juju.
Oh, who does what sports fandoesn't?

Speaker 2 (15:06):
But boy, that's good, it's funny.
I'm torn because the panthersteam of my youth, growing up
down there, my first ever hockeygame, was a ranger panther game
.
Interesting miami arena and uh,back in like 95 I think it was
95 and um, but uh, new york,it's anyone who just you even

(15:27):
have to like hockey.
If you ever wanted toexperience a lot of just raw
energy, go to Madison SquareGarden, go see a Ranger game.
It's the best, it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Hockey period is an energy game.
So fast, it's very fast, veryfast.
I love watching hockey live ATV product doesn't do it justice
.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
No, I think football would be the only sport that
kind of puts things, makes itinjustice.
Baseball could be very boring, could be, Understatement, but
going to baseball games isawesome.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Baseball's trying Still my favorite sport.
To go to Side note.
Baseball is not what it used tobe.
What did it used to be?

Speaker 2 (16:06):
America's pastime?
Well, it's not America'spastime, because they're old,
crotchety people that don't knowhow to play.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
It used to be that.
Hence I said I know what I'msaying I said.
That's the reason why.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
I saw it the people who run it they don't know how
to evolve, like the NFL does?

Speaker 1 (16:21):
They don't want to.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
It's not that they don't know.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
They, they don't know , they don't want to.
Baseball lives in the past.
No, they're too stubborn.
Uh-oh, there's a difference.
Hence, you don't want to Toostubborn.
I believe they said Rokuoffered a baseball contract $30
million for baseball games to bestreamed on Roku.

(16:43):
Baseball's not what it used tobe.
Everything's getting billionsof dollars.
Basketball's getting billionsof dollars.
Everything's getting billionsof dollars.
Basketball's getting billionsof dollars.
Football's getting billions ofdollars Billions, crazy.
Well, I don't know much abouthockey.
I don't watch hockey.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
I root for cities.
I mean, look, you got Edmonton.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Edmonton and Dallas.
You root for cities and jerseys, ah, jerseys, more cities that
jersey looks good on you, you'regoing to win, you're going to
be good, says Antwoord, and Isay no, it's not the jersey,
it's the player and the jersey.
I feel the player.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Put your own name on the back of the jersey.
You can't trade the fan.
Remember that you can't tradethe fan.
Get your own number, get yourown name.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
You can't trade the fan.
No buying jerseys with otherpeople.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
They're there for what?
Two, three years and just drop$150 on a jersey.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Oh, you know.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Keep it, can't trade the fan.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Collector's item baby , but maintaining with money.
Caitlin Clark Yep, what areyour thoughts on what's going on
with Caitlin Clark right now inthe WNBA?
Well, she's a rookie.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
She's been only what four or five games.
She's struggling.
They won their very first gamethe other night but they are.
You know, obviously there'sstill does with her.
It'll be interesting to see howlong that's able to sustain
over the course of this season, next year, you know, especially
if Indiana Fever have two reallybad losing seasons how much is

(18:13):
that interest still going to bethere?

Speaker 1 (18:14):
What do you think Floyd Mayweather?
People go to go see him loseBecause here's the thing, but he
didn't lose.
No, no, no, caitlin Clark, buthe didn't lose.
But people pay to go see himlose.
Caitlin Clark has been praisedas a darling.
She's going to turn the wnbaround.
They got charter jets now totake them to games and whatnot.
So with races, race plays biginto this, with the caucasian

(18:37):
female getting hailed so high, they're like well, wait a minute
.
There's been african-americanwomen that have been doing this
and they've been excellent at itand we didn't give them this
much attention.
Why c Caitlin Clark?
Why now?
So you know, people are goingto go to games or participate

(18:58):
with patronizing WNBA just tosee Caitlin Clark do bad.
That's going to happen.
That's going to happen legit.
There's people out there thatare just like yeah, caitlin, you
suck.
People said da-da-da-da-da ABCabout you.
No, you're not who they saidyou were.
You're a bum.
You're a bum with a barrel.
They're going to say that andthen they're going to be like
yeah, I'm going to go watch andsee how this bum performs, win

(19:19):
or lose.
After a while it's going to bethat interesting, but there's
going to be a side of thepopulation that's going to be
like I'm there to just watch hersuck, because you know they're
not playing fair, because youknow we've had African-American

(19:40):
women just as good as Caitlyn.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
I don't think the WNBA would care, as long as
people are showing up to theirgames, because they don't really
draw well.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
No, they don't really draw well, all right.
No, they don't draw wellbecause the audience it's
females playing basketball, butyou don't see too many females
in the basketball arenas.
Your marketing is not working.
There's women playing, but youdon't see enough women there,
whereas in the nba there's a lotof dudes playing and you see a
lot of dudes in the standseverywhere, from top to bottom.
So you know market.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
He's also been around since 1946.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
No that's true, but market to the audience and plus,
no hate females, the male game.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Don't worry females, your time's coming, it's fine,
the NBA was on tape delay in the80s, so let's not make.
Or 70s, whatever it was.
Don't make it sound like youknow your times.
I mean, you've been in theleague.
So their first season was in1997.
So what are we almost at?
We're almost at… 97, 25 years,Almost 25 years, Okay.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
No, not almost Plenty of time.
More Depends on what year theystarted, don't worry about it,
the WNBA will eventually get….

Speaker 2 (20:42):
I remember I was the Atlanta Dream against the
Washington Mystics.
It was the Eastern ConferenceFinals.
The Dream won, cleansed thespot in the NBA Finals.
Great crowd man.
It was an awesome, awesome, awesome time.
I remember seeing one of my oldfavorite basketball players,
steve Smith from Miami Heat.

(21:02):
He was sitting on the otherside of the basketball court.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
When you talk about Steve Smith, I'm thinking about
football.
Steve Smith, I know from theCarolina Panthers.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
I don't know how many of you have seen Steve Smith.
My main basketball player usedto play for the Hawks and he was
in the other team.
I've never seen that.
But no, look, wnba.
I know they're trying to ridethe whole Caitlin Clark wave.
The league's been around for 25years.
Eventually, I see the WNBAgetting really popular.
I really do.
It's going to be a big sport.
You know you have to give itlike you're going to have to

(21:31):
give it a lot more time.
Like I said, the NBA was aroundfor 40 years.
No, yeah, because the food wasalmost in the 50s.
So, yeah, you're almost talking25, 26 years later.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
After the NBA was in inception, they were still
having tape delays on the NBAfinals, so let the WNBA cook.
That's what Ed was saying,exactly.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
It's going to cook and it's going to be big.
I would say in the next 10years the NBA is going to be
real popular All right, I thinkso.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
That's just me.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
I think it's going to be real popular.
It won't be just because ofCaitlin Clark.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
I enjoy it.
I watch it, I enjoy it.
I watch it.
No, it's definitely going to befor sure, because you know
you've got skillful players.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
The female game is more skill-reliant than you know
athleticism and you knowflashiness, I want to put a team
here in Rochester, new York.
Yeah, that would be dope.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Well, we've got some great Rochester New York players
.
I went to school with one ofthe girls that was playing while
she went to University of Miamiand she ended up getting
drafted into the WNBA and shewas playing.
I went to high school with herCool Name is Shanice Johnson
Dude that'd be awesome.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
If I make a lot of money, I'm going to go buy a
WNBA team and put my hair inRochester Good for you.
Rochester baby.
What would you call them?
The Rochester Crowns?
Oh, I've given this somethought.
Why the Royals?

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Because we are the.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Royals 1951.
Nba champions beat the New York.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Knicks in seven games .
I knew you were going to saythat I was in your head.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
That's a beautiful name Rochester Crowns.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Awesome, take me later.
Take me later.
That's good, man.
Can I own like a percentage?
Hey, man, if this happensbefore before, before you know
you get big.
I like to own like a percent,go for it.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Go for it a non-speaking, a non-speaking
role.
You'll have access to unlimitedpopcorn every time you go to
the game.
I don't care for popcorn, dude, the Panthers are gonna score
throw that back away, I'm sogonna get blamed for this game.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Go get blamed, man.
They're on Power Play too.
Speaking of Power Play, theNCAA and the players settled on
their lawsuit and they'retalking about $2 billion.
$2 billion, and that is money.
That's insane.
They're talking about back payfor the players.
They're talking about $2billion.
$2 billion, and that is money.
That's insane.
They're talking about back payfor the players they're talking

(23:51):
about.
But damn right, they deserveall of it because all these
coaches have been getting fat,All these assistants have been
getting fat paychecks.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
They leave, they go from spot to spot and they talk
about there's no loyalty for theplayers anymore.
It's like you know the coachesweren't loyal, they would play
they anymore.
It's like you know the coachesweren't loyal, they'd be there
for four or five years and thenbounce.
You can call these players, build this whole idea of this
great program.
Then, as soon as a biggerprogram comes along, lures them
away and then they're like allright, see you later.
Business move.
I got to do what's best for myfamily.

(24:20):
It's literally going to becomeprofessional sports.
It's going to be the minorleague of the NFL which is how
it's bad.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
That's a good part, that's a good part, but the bad
part is the sports that are notmaking any money they get to
excuse them out of.
You know they have sectionwhat's it called?
Title IX, right, where thereneeds to be an equal amount of
boys' teams as there's girls'teams, and some of those teams
were funded by the teams thatmade money and that's just gonna

(24:50):
go away.
It's gonna be capitalism allover college.
Some of those teams that arenot making money they're not
bringing in, you know, they'renot putting seats, uh, butts in
seats.
They're just gonna have to.
Hey, you're not making money, you're not meeting the bottom
line, you got to go and I meanthat's gonna suck for people
that genuinely want to continuetheir collegiate career as an

(25:14):
amateur.
You know what?
I rethink that You'll just formclub teams.
If you have an alumni that hassome money, that wants to see
that club team survive, youdonate some money.
It's a tax write-off, sweet taxwrite-off.
It's a nonprofit organizationgoing on.
Nobody's looking to make money, you're just looking to play for
fun.
So that's going to happen, butmost teams are going to get cut.

(25:36):
The athletic pool is going todwindle because football and
basketball are the teams thatare making money and the teams
that are making money are goingto continue.
Teams that are making money aregonna continue to make money
and they're gonna kick out theteams that are not.
That's gonna.
That.
That's life two billion.
All the assistants who aregetting fat no more getting fat.

(25:58):
The players got to get theirpaychecks through.
They're going to get a lot ofmoney, man Watch out for SMU.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
All this money that's flowing around SMU football,
dallas Texas is going to blow.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
What's that?
Running back's name EricDickerson Eric.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Dickerson Pony Express.
That squad was.
It's going to happen again, man, Watch out for them.
That stadium is going to.
What do they got?
They got a bunch of renovationsto a stadium.
I think they built one.
I think it's at like 40,000,50,000.
What division is SMU?
In what division?
I think they just signed withthe ACC, to be honest with you.

(26:32):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
That's a long ways, man.
I think it's the ACC.
It's a money grab now.
So you got to go with theconferences that they're getting
good TV deals.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Exactly, they just want to get to a Power 5.
This is how much money theyhave.
When you become part of a Power5 conference, you get a lot of
the money, a TV deal.
I think they told the ACC ifyou let us in your conference,
you don't have to give us any ofyour money, just let us in.
That's how much money thisschool has.
I'm telling you right now theydon't even care about the TV

(27:04):
meal.
Get us in there, we'll get ourplayers.
And then we'll make our moneywhen we get to the bowl games.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Well, really, all the teams in Texas have a lot of
money.
They do Texas A&M.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
They don't win championships, though they don't
need to.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
They don't need to.
There's a lot of money overthere and in the Texas area.
There's lots of money, there'slots of boosters, huge.
So they got their own players.
They could literally have theirown league in Texas, their own
conference in Texas.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Golly, you could man that would be a fun conference
if it was just the Texas schools, the Longhorns versus the
Aggies.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
They can have dudes making $50 million in college.
Can you imagine that they can?
Oh, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Something I know, nil yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Pop culture.
What's happening in the world?
Puff, Daddy and the family.
There's still new allegationscoming out.
Apart from that, Joe Budden'sgirlfriend, ex-girlfriend Terry,
was like it's ironic thatyou're talking about Puff.
Remember what you used to do tome.
I used to beg you to leave mealone.
It's crazy.
He used to abuse her like crazy, Throw her down the stairs, hit

(28:18):
her all that.
Joe Budden, the Budden podcast.
He's a changed man now but backin those days he wasn't.
Puff Daddy's not alone and allthe dirty laundry and celebrity
world is coming out and peopleare just who's next?
Everybody's probably shaking intheir boots.
If it's not the judicial systemthat gets you, it's the law of

(28:45):
public opinion that gets you,the court of public opinion that
gets you.
So one way or the other, hewill suffer.
P Diddy's suffering by losingsponsorships and partnerships.
He's going to go to prison.
He may not go to prison.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
The crazy thing is that you hear that all the.
I mean it's common knowledgethat he always because he said
he likes to record everythingthat goes on.
Yeah, so there's all thesetapes.
Oh boy.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
It's going to be interesting.
It won't look good for him, golly.
Yeah, he thought R Kelly wasbad.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Then you'll be locked up for multiple years.
Yeah, because Sean Combs is waymore famous than R Kelly.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
No, here's the thing, right Hearing people say stuff
versus seeing it live on TV ontape it hits different.
It hits completely different.
And, Puff Daddy, if they findthese things on you and they put
it out, you don't ever have togo to jail.
But you'd feel so alone in thisworld, no, he won't feel alone.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
No, okay, there are always people who will want to
hang out with him just becausehe has money.
His kids, the kids.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
People always stand with him.
Here's the thing, though he'sgoing to lose his opportunity to
make new money.
What money was he making?
Oh, that's right because he hadsome endorsements.
He has endorsements with albumcatalogs, like Peloton plays
music on their bikes when peopleare in their studios and stuff.
So he's getting money from thatand licensing deals from the

(30:14):
albums that he has, the catalogsthat he has makes money off of
that because you know Diddy'sBad Boy, he owns Bad Boy, that
he has makes money off of thatbecause you know diddy's bad boy
, he owns bad boy and he has allthose catalogs.
He has biggie's catalog.
He at one point in time he hadmace, he had deluxe, he has some
of french montana's, he hasblack rob, he has g-depth, a
bunch of artists.
So all that money, once theypull, you know, the music from

(30:37):
the shelves, he, he doesn'tstand to make residual income
anymore.
It's a bad tune.
Whereas like, well, you havemoney and you have enough money
to buy, uh, to buy what's itcalled to buy trust, or enough
money to buy somebody off and belike, yeah, I can get enough
money to buy yourself above thelaw to not be questioned.

(30:59):
Eventually that goes awaybecause if your partnerships are
not intact, the money's notcoming in as it used to.
So, diddy, my bad man, takethat, take that, damn.
You got anything to say, aboutDiddy, I could care less.
I mean, it's unfortunate butit's unfortunate.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
There's a lot of people that when they get any
kind of fame, they get sucked inreal quickly to go to a lot of
these parties and a lot ofpeople do some bad things.
A lot of people are impressedwith it.
They'll date you just becauseyou're a celebrity or you have
millions of dollars.
And sometimes people need torealize that a lot of money is
just a facade and you're goingto have some crack relationship

(31:38):
with somebody just because theyhave a lot of money is just a
facade.
And uh, you're gonna have somecrack relationship with somebody
just just because they have alot of money doesn't mean
they're gonna, uh, maybe providefor you on a uh physical realm,
you know, but on a uh emotional, on an emotional realm, it's
dangerous, it's not worth it.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Well, here's the thing, right, when you get into
a relationship with anindividual, how you get in on it
determines how you treat them.
If there was more of anemotional connection, right,
that you start off with right, then they may, you know, be
there or not be there theyemotionally for you.
But if it was more of like on amonetary connection, like, oh,
you take care of me, you buy methis, you buy me that, then it

(32:17):
doesn't work out so well for youbecause then emotionally
they're going to treat you likecrap, they're going to, just,
you know, not care for youbecause they're like oh, here,
take some money, go shopping.
Here, take some money, go takecare of yourself.
Here, take some money, go giveyour family members.
And they know that in the past, that's fixed your arguments,
that's fixed yourmisunderstandings, instead of,

(32:37):
you know, paying attention tothat person, treating them with
kindness and not getting to thatlevel where you know you could
care less about them.
And knowing that money does nottake care does not replace your
emotional, the emotional,what's it called?
The emotional interactions andthe emotional bond that comes
with it.
That's, you know.

(32:58):
That's my two cents on thatsubject.
