(00:13):
You're listening to PAC Dynamics, a Fandom on the Rocks
podcast. Hello, welcome back to PAC
Dynamics, a Teen Wolf podcast, asubsidiary of Fandom on the
Rocks. I don't really know how that
works, but I'm Emily. I'm.
Allison. And this is season 3, Episode
10, The Overlooked. We're on that roller coaster,
Emily. We're on the coaster.
(00:34):
Is this the top of the roller coaster?
So I, I feel like the top of theroller coaster was like, and the
last episode where Lydia got almost murdered by Jennifer
Blake and like the sheriff had kidnapped and now we're just
like, whoosh. Now we're whooshing down to the
Denu Mall. We're just, we're just whooshing
down. We're going loop the loops.
I'm just, you know. Yeah, I mean, we got reveals, we
(00:57):
have fight scenes. I mean this is this episode is
just an action movie. Yeah, it's an action movie, but
we got to make it a little gay and I love that.
For us, it's a it's. A little gay, it's a little
silly, and I liked it. It's amazing.
I one of the things that just really, I forget because in
early seasons the hospital is such like a nice scary place,
(01:19):
but in season 3 it gets this like the emergency lighting that
like blue-green overtone. And it.
And it'll keep that blue-green overtone forever.
And I'm just like, oh, it's Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital.
It's haunted. I was thinking like, who is
going to fix the hospital? No one, no one, no one fixes the
hospital. Does the hospital become like
the next abandoned location where future fight scenes
(01:41):
happen? I don't even think it gets
abandoned. It's just a fight.
It's just a location where future fight scenes happen.
There's. Too much that happens with the
shoddy electric work in this. Hospital.
It's the other Beacon Hills Seattle Memorial Grace.
Yes, the Beacon Hills Seattle Memorial Grace Hospital.
Terrible things happen here constantly.
(02:02):
Constantly. So The Rundown is trapped inside
and evacuated Seattle Beacon Hills Hospital by a powerful
storm. Scott and Derek must defend
themselves against the Alphas while trying to figure out how
to save Cora's life. This episode aired August 5th,
2013. So we have a dark and stormy
night classic. The last, what, 6 episodes of
(02:25):
Teen Wolf have just been dark and stormy nights.
Yes, they've all been dark and stormy.
And we think it's because the Dirac is like dark and stormy
and she's like getting her stufftogether.
But really I just think they like the power lighting.
Everyone got to get soaking wet in the rain in this episode, and
we all love a wet, you know, scraggly hero.
Like, I don't know. The we there was a whole thing
in the fandom about the the the T the crew trying to make Styles
(02:54):
Dylan O'Brien not look as powerful and like strong as the
werewolves. Right.
Because he's like the human and 147 lbs of sarcasm.
Except then they keep getting him wet and that all goes away.
And then there's like, the arms and the ABS and the shoulders,
and you're like, Oh, yeah, this is like a regular kind of like
(03:14):
Hollywood young adult man who's who can probably bench press.
OK. Then you're like, this is a man
with, like, big old hands holding a bat with like, a wet
T-shirt contest. You're like, oh, yeah, they're
all the same. These are all Hollywood men.
Yeah, they're all, they're all guys who all take protein
shakes. They all work out a lot.
This is this is their job. This is their job.
(03:35):
Like thank you for playing. They're all ripped.
Yes, exactly. There's they're all the same.
They're all ripped, even the nonwerewolves.
Yeah, but thank you for trying. I do love seeing Missus McCall
taking control of her hospital. Because we know that if Eddie,
you know who you going to call Mama McCall, this is the answer.
She is, she's in charge. She's just completely in charge.
(03:58):
None of this like nurse, doctor, none of that, none of that
stuff. Mama McCall is in charge.
She's being the best. She's getting her hospital
evacuated. She is taking care of her
patients. We love her.
I don't even know that this is her job and she's just like I'm
doing it. It's one of those things it's,
it's kind of like Scott, it's like, well, no one else is
stepping up to do it and it's gotta get done.
So like, might as well do it, right?
(04:20):
He learned that from his Mama. Yeah, he did.
Certainly not his dad. So they're evacuating the
hospital because it's a raging storm.
They've they're marking red XS on the the rooms that are being
fully evacuated. Another town called Hill Valley
is under flood watch. There is an editor's note that
Hill Valley is the name of the town that is the setting to Back
(04:42):
to the Future. Fantastic.
So that, you know, fun. Oh, and an editor's note from
me. I don't know that this is
intentional, and I don't think it is, but the title of the
episode is the overlooked that will come into play later with
monologuing. However, the Overlook Hotel is
(05:03):
the name of the hotel in The Shining.
Yes, and they get snowed in during a powerful storm.
And the team here is about to get rained in during a powerful
storm. And there's a lot of flashy
green lights in in that hotel also.
A lot of spooky hallways. There are twins.
Spooky twins. Spooky twins.
(05:24):
There's an elevator that spews blood in The Shining.
I don't know whatever, so I'm just saying.
The elevator doesn't spew blood, but like it could.
It very much could have had something on differently, so I
just thought that was interesting.
Whether or not it was purposeful, I don't know.
I just liked it. I like it.
I like it. So Core Hale, still sick, still
(05:44):
vomiting blood. She needs to get out of there.
Peter is the one now, wiping herfurrowed brow.
Since when did Peter Hale becomelike a trust, trustworthy family
member? Peter Hale.
I don't know, my note was here. Like, he actually kind of seems
concerned. Uncle being the best uncle ever.
Question mark He. Was like, I didn't know he knew
that feel. Like he has, he is, he is
(06:07):
caring, he is concerned. He seems to be fond of Cora in
this moment, you know, advocating for her.
I just like what? Yeah, is someone gonna take care
of my niece? Like, oh, you remembered your
family. You remembered that she's
important. You remember that?
Oh. Oh, OK.
I I don't know. This is also the first time that
Melissa sees Peter since he died.
(06:28):
Since he died. Like so she went on a weird
blind date with him that he set up like a like almost a year
ago. Well, last semester and
everyone's like he's dead and not anymore.
He used to be dead. You know, I get that a lot.
Yep, and she just has to move and I like that he tried to
sneak into the shadows like he was going to not be there.
(06:52):
Does the. Moon walk away from his problems
like Derek, like Doopa doopa Doopa do.
Yeah, but the poor Missus McCalldoes not have time to deal with
this shit because there is too much going on.
But she does take it rather well.
Like she she knows werewolves can't.
Like she's just gonna have to take this in stride, so we have
to go to the loft. No, but we have to cause Cora.
(07:14):
Cora is still and. Cora Cora's she.
Just like she just hurls over the side of the bed.
It's that awful black stuff thatlike Eric was throwing up in
season 1, but Cora's has mistletoe in it.
Yes. Why?
What in the plot armor is poisoning cornhale?
(07:36):
What, what, what? How did it get there?
How did it get that Cora wouldn't have eaten mistletoe?
No, I don't even know how it gotinto the pianist.
How did it get into Danny? How did How did?
Who is eating mistletoe? It had to.
Like is there like some sort of bake sale is like the Dirac like
sneaking in like secret cupcakesinto like what is happening?
(07:59):
So when in in a minute, we're gonna see what Scott does.
But like, can it, can it really just be like stirred into a
smoothie? Like, was it in the air?
I don't know but it comes out aslike full on berries.
I know I I don't. How did Cora get mistletoe under
her system? I don't know.
(08:19):
You'd think she'd smell it and be like, I don't want that.
It's dangerous. You would think Cora pays
attention. She's not dumb.
She survived the Andes wherever the fuck she was.
Yeah. I don't know, but it's important
because Cora is now not only throwing up black stuff, but she
is throwing up mistletoe, which is not a good sign, not a good
prelude. She's not happy.
(08:41):
Yeah. So in the loft.
Oh, the loft. Jennifer playing victim has come
running to the loft looking for Derek and she is like you cannot
believe Scott and Styles about what happened at the school.
It's not true. They're telling you lies.
Which does mean that she knows how close they all are, that she
(09:04):
name drops Scott and Styles directly to Derek about who
would be telling him about what happened.
Yeah. And.
She like, she like, runs into Derek's arms and starts kissing
him. And it's just like ma'am, ma'am.
Eyes open too. Yeah, she like, she like it
very, very much. A shining moment.
(09:25):
Just, you know, all in the groove space.
And then just like re re re. Then she's like, they're already
here, aren't they? And immediately turns.
It's a big kudos to this actressbecause her entire personality
shifts in that line. Sure does, yeah.
The real Jennifer Blake emerges. Then the real Jennifer Blake
(09:46):
emerges and she realizes they are already here and Derek has
already gotten the entire lowdown from Scott and Styles.
Yep, they sure did. And the fucking tears in style
lies. It his line reading of Where's
My Dad? The absolute worst.
Ouch, Ouch. It hurts so much every time and
(10:08):
like, you know it's coming and it hurts.
Yeah, you know it's coming and it still hurts.
And, and like the back and forthof like, where's my dad?
And and Jennifer's like Derek, tell me you don't believe this.
And he's just staring at Styles and Scott for like a a beat.
And then his question is, do youknow what happened to Styles's
father? Like not the sacrifices, not
(10:30):
Lydia, not but like, what's up with my father-in-law?
Yeah. Do you, do you know what
happened to my father-in-law? Do you, do you know what
happened to him? Because none of us even know
what happened to him. He gone and also they watched
him yeet. The sheriff out the window.
Yeah, for sure. Can.
(10:50):
OK, Ken, Derek not hear changes in Jennifer's heartbeat or is
she just able to control that? I think in this moment, like I,
I, I, it would not surprise me if she could control her
heartbeat, if she like had some sort of super secret masking,
whatever, because in they shouldall be able to smell her like
(11:11):
they should like if she showed up some place like she, they
would have been able to smell her.
So there's probably some maskinggoing on with her whole like
face bodies shenanigan. But like, I in this moment think
especially after this, because Derek is going through like a
bazillion feelings. And frankly, very little of them
(11:32):
have to do with Scott and Styles.
Yeah, like Scott and Styles are the the the impetus to the plot
line of like Jennifer Blake, badguy missing father.
What are we doing? But like, Derek is get it.
He got the load out from Scott and Styles.
They already know that Jennifer is the Dirac because Scott was
there and Stiles was there. And so Derek is having to
(11:55):
reconcile with the fact that yetanother woman is using him and
manipulating him in order to hurt people, and he is trying to
reconcile that. And like, who am I trusting?
Who am I not trusting? Second chance to What's going
on? You you stop trusting crazy
(12:16):
women not. To be that person so.
Not to be like misogynist on theradio here, but it is the show
only giving Derek love interest.Well, it's hard to call Kate a
love interest because she is actively a predator.
Yeah. And in a way, so is Jennifer,
(12:37):
because she targets him. She literally physically targets
him. Yes and and like plays him all
the way through yes, this port like.
Yes. I know we ship Derek Styles, and
for very good reasons, but also like for the plot.
Can't you give this man a love interest who isn't actively
trying to ruin absolutely everything?
(12:58):
And eventually they get there, but like, they're not there yet.
Damn it, like you're really making it hard to like female
characters on this show sometimes.
Yes. And that's, and that's kind of
the other problem that we'll runinto is that you get.
Honestly, it is and it. Is because like, and we'll talk
about this next season and I'm really interested to see 'cause
(13:19):
next season is 3B when we get Kira and Malia.
I am really interested to see like what your thoughts are on
Malia Tate this far out. Oh, sure.
Yeah, yeah. As you know, yeah, it yes, I get
your point. I know like.
Yeah, I know, I know. But it's like you see these
(13:39):
people like it's one of the big reasons we struggle with Cora.
It's like I I want so badly to love Cora, but Cora is only
there to be a replacement for Erica.
Yes. And then you just like swap her
out and then you'll bring Malia in as a as a filler for Cora.
Supernatural has this problem too, where you're like, you
(14:01):
can't make female characters replaceable and expect the
fandom to love them. The way you dedicate pages and
pages and pages and hours of screen time to the male
characters and then be like, howcome?
How come the fandom doesn't lovethe female characters the same
way? Like because you don't.
Because you don't. You, the writer, the director,
(14:22):
the screenwriters. You don't love your female
characters the same way. So so they don't translate the
same way. Erica stuck because she's so
fucking tragic. And Allison and Lydia are there
long enough and have enough gutsbehind them to matter.
Yeah, and even then they try to replace Allison with Kira.
(14:44):
Yeah, with Kira, you can't just swap women like they're paper
dolls and think the fandom's gonna be like, OK, great,
another woman. Like no, no, no, we're not
replaceable as no, as the femaleaudience.
And not to say that everyone is female presenting or female
identifying. That's not the point.
But like you, no. It's it.
(15:07):
No, Sir. And it's like, it's so
eventually in Season 5, we're going to get another, another
new kid. So you get what's called the
puppy pack, and you meet this kid named Liam.
And Liam is a like, young, strong lacrosse player.
He's very much kind of like a different flavor of Jackson
Whittemore. And he in his, like, you know,
(15:29):
Journey never once tries to replace Jackson or tries to
replace Scott. Oh, so they're just capable of
writing it better? They're just capable of giving
us a new kid. Great.
Yeah. And it's, it's so clear and it
just drives me. It drives me banana nut muffins.
But in any case, Derek is so incredibly soft for Scott and
(15:51):
Styles, both of Scott and Styles, because he's like
looking back at Scott and Stylesgoing like, I trust Scott and
Scott trusts Styles, I trust Styles.
And you know, like Styles trustsme and we all trust each other.
This is more important. And he makes the choice.
Yeah, yes. And he has to be doing some
(16:14):
calculations of of where has Jennifer been?
And I don't know her that well, and I haven't known her that
long, and I've known these two fuckwads a little.
Longer, a little longer. And we, you know, they've earned
it. Yeah, and.
They could. Have it did happen to?
Stuff. Yeah.
And then they ask her to tell Derek what happened or what she
(16:36):
did to Lydia. And it's just too much.
And so Scott also has a jar of mistletoe.
And Deaton has told him that it is both a poison and a cure.
And and the mistletoe that he has, though, is like ground up
into an incredibly fat, foul, fine powder.
And he hurls that into the air. And the, the the mistletoe has
(16:57):
to be magic, right? Because it like it, it attacks
Jennifer, only it like swirls around her and doesn't go for
Derek at all. Which could have been really
bad, yeah, but it forces her briefly to change her face into
the Dirac. Not that I don't love Scott in
this moment, but weird. Styles his job.
(17:18):
Scott styles his job. Magic styles his fucking job.
I know I was a little pissed. The magic is Styles's job, God
damn it. You let him be magic.
You let him. That is literally Styles's job.
Yeah, and so the spooky scary monster.
And Derek finally sees the scarymonster with his own face.
And again, he just, I think, I think I'm projecting on him, of
(17:40):
course, but I think like he is once again being confronted
front and center with like, oh, you let a monster into your bed
again, again. Because he then proceeds to get
very violent towards her, which like in in a confined fictional
setting I love in any kind of real relationship of any kind,
(18:03):
this is very bad, Bad Derek. Yeah.
No. No choking.
No choking, no like complete, like right on a dime, like flip
a switch kind of anger, kind of violence, like absolutely not.
But in a very small confined space that this is ATV show and
everybody's fictional etcetera, etcetera.
It was great and I loved it. Yes, and and I mean she is now a
(18:27):
bad guy. Yeah, and all signs point to her
having poisoned Kora. Yes, and of course she's now
like I'm the only one who can save Cora of.
Course you are. And you know what?
I would just, Derek's definitelytrying to kill her, and he's
trying to talk himself out of killing her in this moment, he
really is. It really is.
(18:47):
And it takes both Styles and Scott being like stop, stop,
stop Derek, stop. Yeah, it takes them both and
it's I think they need her to save both Cora and the Sheriff.
I think he would have ripped herhead off if it had been for.
Absolutely for the for the boys, absolutely.
He would have just ripped her inhalf.
(19:08):
And it's interesting because shedoesn't.
I mean, OK, I think we know why she doesn't fight, but I don't.
We don't quite know her strengthcapabilities, but can could she
have gotten out of Derek's grip?Probably.
Like what? What is she capable of?
Well, she's capable of a lot nowthat she's killed the Warriors.
Yes, exactly. Because like, that's the whole
(19:28):
thing is that she has been sacrificing people to build her
strength to take on the alphas. So she lets herself get
manhandled. By Yeah, because she thinks that
she can. She can manipulate him out of
it. And she can.
And she hasn't been able to yet, because Derek trusts, you know,
(19:50):
his pack more than he trusts her.
And himself. And himself, yeah, and himself.
He trusts Scott, and he mostly trusts Scott.
Let's be real about it. And enough of Styles that he's
going to let them make the decision for him because he
knows that he's not in the rightframe of mind here.
(20:10):
Nor should he be. No, because my notes, my notes
are just screaming. Derek being manipulated again
with sex again to hurt his family.
Again. Like baby?
I know, do something different with Derek, God damn it.
Yeah, can we stop sexually abusing him pretty please?
(20:31):
That's fucked up. Can we stop it guys?
Yeah, like this doesn't have to be like this doesn't.
Have to be like this. So they're, they're on route, on
route to the hospital. Jennifer's like, I want to help.
Do you? I'm only doing what I have to
do. Derek keeps telling her to shut
up, but it has none of the none of the none of the like the pop
(20:52):
that it does with Styles. It does not, Nope, does not,
which is, you know, it's not thesame.
So and in the Jeep, so Scott andStyles are in the Jeep behind
them and Styles is the one who'slike, this is not right.
Something is off. This is all going to Jennifer's
plan and we're just following itagain.
But like, what are they going todo?
(21:14):
What's the alternative? So I have the spooky scary
hospital and Stiles has got the bat from the Jeep because they
have claws. He has the bat.
Yes, yes he does. RIP to the bat later, though.
Yeah, RIP. He'll get another.
So they run in the Melissa. There are two more ambulances
(21:34):
coming for this evacuation, and Cora has to be on one of those.
And then we get both the worst elevator ride and the funniest.
Oh boy. I love the blocking of this
where on one side Scott is just absolutely glaring murder at
Jennifer and then it pans past her and Styles is behind between
(21:56):
her and Derek behind them duringgripping the bat as if he could
have any effect whatsoever. Right.
It's it's delightful. It's so good.
I also want like why are you taking the elevator?
Just take the stairs. Like the power could go out at
any moment. Seriously.
Like everyone keeps getting intothese elevators as if there's
not a life threatening storm andthe power could go out.
(22:20):
But you know the drama. Unfortunately, the core is gone
from the hospital bed. There is a trail of black blood
and then Peter gets thrown through the door.
Hi Uncle Peter, thanks for beingfunny again.
I know we've got a problem, a big problem, and it's because
the the Alpha twins are there. How long?
Didn't want to see you 2 fuck all Chucks again.
(22:42):
I continue to dislike them like these are.
I get it, they're pawns, but like they have to go to school
with these guys. Yeah, and get their asses kicked
by them. Yeah.
But the twins are there for Jennifer and they're just
beating the shit out of everyoneto get to Jennifer, so that's
fun. Derek and Scott are going to
(23:04):
fight the Super twins. Style sees Cora on the floor.
There was a Steeder moment of tapping Peter on the shoulder
and being like help me. There sure was, like they were
trying to set up Cora and Stylesand what they set up with Styles
and Peter. And they accidentally got a
little moment there. And I'm not mad about it.
Not mad about it. And Jennifer slowly escapes onto
(23:24):
the elevator. Donna.
But we got Kali and Kalian showing up because obviously
they're going to be there for the showdown going after
Jennifer, and Jennifer blasts Kali out of the elevator with
just like a force push. Yeah, just, you know, well, bam.
So that was kind of cool. It was.
(23:45):
It was cool. Did that come from?
Who would that come from? That's just innate power of
being. Probably just innate power,
yeah. Yeah, so just like action-packed
Peters, Carey and Cora, Derek Styles and Scott, they're all
like running through the morgue I think is where they end up.
It kind of look like the morgue, but the morgue in the basement.
(24:06):
And they went. Up.
I don't know. The location of where they are
at any given moment throughout the rest of this episode is
like, it kind of doesn't matter. It really doesn't.
They're on. They're in a hallway, they're in
a garage, they're in an elevator.
It doesn't matter where. Just at some point, some of the
characters are going to be in anelevator, an ambulance, a
(24:27):
hallway or somewhere in between,right?
But yeah, like, and Derek's like, don't stop, don't stop
Styles because reasons. I don't know.
He hesitates as the twins get closer because he's going to hit
them with the bat. And Derek is like calls out his
name, very concerned. Very concerned.
(24:49):
Because Styles trying to go after the twins, Derek and Derek
and Scott can't beat Super Twin,Yeah.
But what else tries? What is Styles going to do?
And he waits behind the door to hit the twins over the head with
the bat, which just explodes. Yeah, that didn't work.
So this is it's very interestingscene because it moves very
(25:10):
quickly. There's some like fun comedic
moments of of style staring at the shattered bat.
Yeah. But Derek is the one to like,
turn 1st and move towards him togo help.
Yeah. And all of these are choices by
the editor. Yes, they're all choices by the
editor. Like of like what?
What shot to use? Yeah.
So like, I don't know man, it's all choices.
(25:33):
All choices it doesn't like. At the end of the day, sometimes
the document is in fact Canon. Yes, Yes, it is.
Yeah. There's a very cool transition
here, though, because Scott Derek helped Scott launch up to
the ceiling to smash a light into the twins, and that
transitions to the high school hallway.
Do we? Oh no, we don't learn about this
(25:55):
just yet. OK, my bad.
That was a note that that I willsay again here in a little bit.
Yes. I got really excited about
calling the Calling and JenniferFight in the elevator.
Not. Quite.
Yeah, we'll talk about it later.Because first we just have to
have like a real quick aside of Allison with her great hair and
jacket. Yes, and her father adopting
(26:16):
Isaac Leahy. Yes, this is when Chris Argent
decides to take in Isaac. Amazing.
Perfect. I love this for them.
Congratulations. So they're going to, they're
going to take Lydia to 1, they're going to make like a two
stop. They're going to take Lydia to a
different hospital, but then go to the Beacon Hills hospital to
go get Cora and Chris is going to drive them and.
Chris is going to drive them. Because he wasn't going to send
Isaac out alone in the rain. Yeah, because Chris has decided
(26:40):
that maybe murdering a lot of teenagers is not the best idea.
No, and said he's gonna start adopting them.
They're all gonna come live in his Chateau in France in.
France with Erica and Boyd. Yeah, 'cause Erica and Boyd are
already there. Yeah, it's delightful.
But this is when now back at thehospital that Melissa runs into
(27:01):
Kalian and Kali and she's like, you're the bad guy.
And. That is, that is correct.
That is correct. An official an official pack
dynamics. Welcome to the official
blue-green Beacon Hills MemorialHospital.
Emergency lighting. Welcome to the Blue-green
Hospital. Flash, Flash.
(27:22):
Yeah, Now it's been introduced. Now we know anytime this
happens, it's bad news. Yeah, it's bad news.
Anytime they're green, it's not good.
So they, Peter and Co move Cora into a yet another room.
They're just carrying her aroundfrom like room to room.
Yeah, well, she's basically unconscious.
She's just a body at this point.Super is, Yeah.
(27:43):
And this is like a nice little scene of Derek telling Styles to
be quiet and then they get real close arguing over Jennifer and
Styles calling out the psychoticmass murdering girlfriend.
The second one you've dated, by the way, has got his dad tied up
somewhere waiting to be originally sacrificed.
And the look on Derek's face, like he is like dead ass, like
(28:07):
staring Styles in the face for most of this conversation until
Styles is like, oh, it's the second one you've dated, by the
way. And then Derek like breaks I
come up with and like looks down.
Yeah. So we have to kind of like click
into all of our little brains here at this point.
Does everyone know the relationship between Kate and
(28:28):
Derek? I don't know.
Because we've established that Styles knows and that Chris
knows because that was back in Season 1 where Chris intimidated
Styles in the morgue again, where he kind of outed Kate for
like, setting the fire. But I don't know at this point,
(28:53):
I can't remember. Like, does every Did Derek ever
come clean about telling everybody?
Like the relationship between him and Kate?
Unless he did it off camera, I don't think he did.
I don't. Think so and so, like in this
moment, Derek, like Styles, is outing Derek a little bit in
(29:16):
front of Peter, in front of Scott.
I wonder if Peter knew just because he seemed to lurk
everywhere. I I mean, I imagine so, like
Peter can't have followed Paige everywhere and then not have
known about Kate. Like, but I just like, I, I was
sitting and thinking about it like because we all know what
happened between Kate and Derek and maybe Allison knows because
(29:39):
we also put the people together.Yeah, but Kate wasn't always
super subtle. No, Kate was not super subtle.
So maybe maybe Allison figured it out, but I don't know if like
I don't know if Scott knows. I don't know if Peter knows.
And so, I mean, yeah. So like in this moment, is it it
is possible that styles just like outed Derek to to these
(30:05):
people. And then, of course, that that
makes me ask the question, why'dyou tell styles?
Why'd you tell styles hairs? Why'd you tell Styles?
Or did he? Or did styles just figure it
out? Or did Styles just figure it out
like? But yes, so feeling some
feelings about this. But Scott is 100% the peacemaker
(30:26):
because he's always the peacemaker.
I'm a little mad that he breaks up there flirting but you know.
There, at this moment, there areimportant things to do.
Yes, there are really important things to do, and unfortunately
we're just gonna keep getting more important things to do
because all of a sudden we get an announcement over the
intercom. Yes, Mr. Deukalian.
(30:46):
Oh, just Deukalian. Sorry, just deukalian.
The the woman calling herself Jennifer Blake needs to be
brought to, ER, reception. Sorry, Mr. Just Deukalian, I
thought was actually really funny.
Yeah, yeah. So Dekalian wants Jennifer, who
is now in the room with them andsays only she can save Cora, and
(31:08):
the Alphas want her dead. If Team Good guys help her out
of the hospital, she will save Cora.
You help me. I help you.
We all live happily ever after. And Jennifer's like, they're not
going to hurt Melissa and Scott. You know why?
And so we establish that like, Scott knows something that Derek
(31:30):
doesn't know, and Scott's keeping secrets from Derek, and
Derek is feeling feelings about it with his eyes and eyebrows.
Because we don't have enough secrets to reveal in this very
tense moment. Yeah, it's time for Scott to to
well, he doesn't actually even reveal anything.
It it comes out via Peter really.
(31:50):
Via Peter. That Dukalian wants to add the
rarest of alphas to his ranks, and that is the true alpha, our
little Scott. Our little Scott.
And everyone just kind of looks awkwardly at each other.
Yeah, and Derek is just like feeling.
I can only imagine the cocktail of like shame and guilt and
(32:11):
jealousy that he's feeling. For sure, because he's probably
heard stories of like true alphas and how rare and
important and special they are. And he's like, but it's not me.
Right. Someone who didn't have to steal
it from anybody else. And Derek and Peter are just
like what? Are you talking about?
Well, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to kill you.
Go on your back. And and Derek just killed his
(32:33):
his own beta, but not on purpose.
It was put on him. He was like, I didn't want to do
that. No, of course not.
Absolutely not. Boyd is not dead.
He is on Sunday abroad in France.
And he didn't even really want to kill Paige.
He didn't do that on purpose. I mean, he did it on purpose,
but not because he wanted to. Not out of like anger or
violence, but out of, you know, compassion and softness.
(32:53):
And that's the thing that comes up later when Jennifer Blake is
like, we've both killed like, but not the same.
Yeah, Jennifer Blake gets needs to get Paige's like blood out of
her mouth. Yeah, I.
Was like get her name out your. Mouth like stop it you've.
Murdered how many people and Derek had like put a girl out of
(33:14):
her misery. Like come on, dude, it's.
Something that Peter did like, yeah.
Yeah, don't compare these two things.
How dare you? So Derek is feeling a little
feelings about Scott keeping secrets about, you know, the
there there might be a thing with a true alpha.
We're we're like still trying tofigure it out and talk about it.
But then it turns out that the twins are still outside.
Yeah, Yep. They're gonna have to.
(33:34):
They're gonna have to fight their way out of that room.
They're gonna have to Super Saiyan up so they start looking
for anything that will help them.
Yeah, and that's when Stiles iconically picks up the
defibrillators. Do you know how to use that?
No, put it down. Looking out for his safety.
Just looking out for his safety.Like good job bud, good job.
(33:56):
Yeah, I love it. Instead, they decide to stab
Peter with epinephrine to juice him up.
Straight in the heart. I love that's that image of him
like lumbering out of the out ofthe Med room with this like this
like syringe just in his chest. He's like.
I also love that there's just a syringe full of epinephrine.
Like don't you? Are those prefilled?
(34:18):
Let's kind of. Imagine a few of them are, yeah,
but I would imagine they'd also be like in the refrigerator.
That, too. I was like, you know what?
Whatever's happening in this hospital is not my problem.
I just really, I don't think youwould just find a tube of
epinephrine just like hanging around in a drawer.
Freeborn like freeborn. Like an EpiPen maybe, but this
(34:42):
is like a full ass syringe full of epinephrine.
You know what it works though for a.
Little I would have loved to have seen instead, like an
EpiPen and you know, before getting stabbed.
It's like blue to the sky or it's to the thigh, just like
Sam. A little teaching moment for
everybody. A little.
Teaching moment for everybody. Yeah, it's a, you know, in case
(35:02):
your buddy has a an anaphylacticshock from, let's say,
mistletoe. Blue to the sky, orange to the
thigh. That's how you fluid orange.
A perfect combination. A perfect.
Combo. Bam bam bam there.
You go, this is my cousin Miguel.
So they battle it out for a little while until Peter gets
(35:23):
tired and then they they slide down the laundry chute.
OK. That's a choice, OK?
Meanwhile, Derek, Styles, Cora and Jennifer sneak out to the
ambulance that is waiting in thegarage and they load Cora onto
the stretcher and there's that perfect touch of Styles's hand
on Derek's arm for some reason. Oh my God, it hurts my heart, it
(35:47):
hurts, it hurts so good. Those are the things I'm like,
thank you actors for making acting choices.
Yes, thank you actors, for making acting choices, because
that's 100% a thing that would have happened.
Like, love it, appreciate you. Thank you.
I just, I appreciate you, thank you so much.
But don't worry, they'll hurt meworse later.
Yeah, you're gonna break everyone's heart, and that's
(36:08):
fine. And then look between them when
Jennifer calls for Derek, the like.
Should I go? I guess you have to go.
Yeah. Be safe.
Babe. Be safe, the paramedic is dead
and of course it's Kali and she has the keys but because why the
fuck wouldn't she? She is looking to taunt Miss
Jennifer Blake, but Jennifer is not the name that she calls out.
(36:30):
No, it's Julia. Julia, she doesn't.
Really look like a Julia though. She's just not.
But also, she's got a new face. She does have a new face.
So you know what? It could be anybody.
You know what? Yeah.
So I love Derek in this moment that he's just like, we're gonna
go. Right away.
And they eat themselves out of there.
(36:52):
But not before catching one lastlook.
I know. One last look, as Derek is
running after Jennifer, he turnsback to look at In theory, it's
probably Kora, but Kora's not who he's meeting.
It's Styles, and the way Styles, like, immediately catches him
(37:12):
and like, lot like, scrambles himself to the other side of the
ambulance to see him for as longas he can.
Like, Ouch. Ow.
Ow, my heart hurts. Stop that.
Ow don't appreciate this shit. I do not.
Ouch, ouchies. Yep, so and and yet.
(37:34):
Meanwhile, Decalion has Melissa up on the roof showing him how
to turn the power off to the hospital.
I don't know that she would knowhow to do this.
It doesn't surprise me that she knows.
It doesn't surprise me at all. Yeah, I guess if anyone.
Yeah, literally, if anyone in that hospital is going to know,
it's going to be Melissa. Yeah, I yeah, it's just, it's
(37:55):
one of those like, what if he had picked a different nurse who
was like, bro, I don't know how to turn the power off.
It's fine. Only Melissa could have been
taken. The qualifications for, you
know, kidnapping victim are related to Scott McCall knows
how to turn the power off. Like there's only one choice.
It was the only option, yeah. So now in the ambulance, Cora
(38:18):
has stopped breathing. Retro.
And I'm assuming her heart was still beating because instead of
doing CPR he does mouth to mouth.
My notes say in all caps. Don't forget the chest
compressions styles. That's what I did.
I was like my note was mouth to mouth and not CPR because the
new guidelines are you really want to do chest compressions
(38:39):
and not mouth to mouth for optimum life saving.
Yeah, like rescue breathing is good and important, but.
Let's get that blood pump into the brain that.
Blood pump into the brain like you can, you can, you can.
You got to do all the pieces like.
Yeah, so I'm, I'm assuming heartwas still let's let's go with
her. Heart was still pumping, but she
had stopped breathing for mistletoe reasons.
(39:00):
For mistletoe reasons, yes, for mistletoe reasons her she had
stopped breathing and so styles just I, I although I do
appreciate the teaching moment that they missed with the
epinephrine they did get in CPR.They they went through it.
They were like check the breathing till check for.
Insertions in the throat? Check the airway, plug the nose.
(39:20):
Like, I don't really appreciate that.
We will take a moment to say that if you have it available to
you, you should take ACPR class because.
Absolutely. Could say something's life and.
It's easy. It's really easy.
It's super important. And when they talk about chest
compressions, they're gonna talkabout a beats per minute and
stay in a lot of. They're in it to staying alive.
You're there's two songs that you can give CPR to that will
(39:42):
kind of you can keep in your head that'll give you the right
beats per minute. And that's Staying Alive by the
Bee Gees. And another one Bites the Dust
by Queen Oh. Yeah, and another tip is if you
think you're going too hard, you're not.
Yes, exactly. If you think you're going too
hard, you are not. If you break a rib, that's OK.
(40:02):
Yeah, that means you're doing itright.
You're doing it right. Yes, ribs healed.
Brains don't so. Correct.
For babies you use like 2 fingers.
For a toddler or a child you useone hand.
For an adult, you use two hands.Yep, interlace your fingers on
top of each other. See, we have both taken CPR
(40:23):
classes. This is fun.
It's informative knowledge. Go take CPR.
And hopefully it happens somewhere where there's an AED
machine and you can just use that.
If there is an AED, oh, pro tip, most AE, most modern AED
machines will now talk to you. They'll talk you through the
procedure. So if you're if you, if you're
like, Oh my God, I don't know how to use this.
(40:45):
Don't worry about it. They they knew that.
They knew that. They knew they.
Knew you were gonna panic. They knew you were gonna panic.
So always, if you're in like a new workplace, always know where
your AED is. And if at any point you need to
use it, absolutely use it. That's the point.
Also tell someone specifically to call 911 or else no one will
(41:05):
correct. That's a huge problem.
It's like a whole human brain thing where if you don't tell
someone specifically to call 911, no one will cause everyone
thinks someone else is doing it.Yep, and you can always send two
people to do a task. Yep, Anyway this has been CPR
with PAC dynamics. Oh.
Yeah. So Styles is giving Cora, I
(41:26):
guess, rescue breathing 'cause he's not doing a lot of like
chest compressions, but he's having such a fucking heart to
heart with her in this ambulance.
He really is. You're a lot easier to talk to
while you're icon to shut up styles.
Yeah. Shut up, asshole.
She's a strong willed woman, like leave her alone.
Although I do really appreciate he doesn't call what they did a
(41:50):
kiss. Yes, my lips to your mouth.
Yeah, next time I put my lips toyour mouth.
It's not be. Conscious like he's I do really
appreciate the like that very specific like demarcation that
the writers. Gave us same.
Yeah, they shaft female characters, but they got that
right. You know what?
We'll take it. We'll take a small victory, but
(42:13):
yeah, his his acting when he's like lamenting that they, they
used to be the ones with the plan and maybe they are useless
and that he doesn't want to findhis father's body.
And I was like, Oh my God, I. Don't want to find my father's
body like bro. Don't do this, I hate this show
so much. Well, Speaking of new fathers.
(42:33):
Yes. We get the the Argent Leahy
clan. Yeah, they're like, off doing
their own thing this entire episode.
Oh, yeah. They just, like, pop in and out
once in a while to be like, hey,it's the Argents in the
hospital. Hey, I'm doing stuff.
Cool. I had to highlight their scenes
in like red just to be like, oh right, Isaac's hearing movement
in the floor below. They're still here.
(42:54):
Isaac puts his whole ass body onthe floor to listen to the
basement. Isaac, it's.
Really funny, Sir. Yeah, I I thought that was cute.
He's trying his best, man. He really is.
He's still new at this whole werewolf thing.
He is. He didn't take a lot of
training, so he's trying. What's the order here?
So we have like, Jennifer and Derek in the stopped elevator
(43:15):
having an argument about breaking out or not breaking
out. Peter and Scott show up at the
ambulance to drop off Peter, whois very tired.
Yeah, and then Scott gets beat up.
Scott gets a little beat up because he needs to go back for
his mom, and the twins are like,we're not trying to hurt you,
but they are. But then Melissa pops in with
(43:37):
the defibrillators. Defib.
Hello. And it works 'cause it shocks
the twins apart. Yeah.
So. Peter Peter has officially
joined the ambulance gang cause Scott kind of plunks him in
there and then Scott goes into alosing battle with the twins and
Mama McCall comes in with the defib.
Yep, love it. Such a fun scene.
And then? And then, you know, so Mama
(43:59):
McCall is firmly on Team Werewolf.
She is like, you go, you do, yougot this.
She is, she is on board. And we love her for this
commitment. So good.
But up next, we gotta we gotta talk about, we gotta talk about
some soft spots because this is where we get the side by side
basically of Derek and Jennifer yelling at each other in the
elevator and Collie and Akilian yelling at each other in the
(44:21):
morgue. Yes, this is the really the back
story of Jennifer. Yeah.
And and the emissaries and the overlooked and Derek trying so
hard to like, melt into a wall. He is trying so hard.
He is just like I'm now officially in.
I'm locked in an elevator with my ex who is like desperately
trying to get me to tell her that I think she's pretty and I
(44:42):
want to. I want to erase my life right
now. This whole line of questioning
of being like, I bet the thing that you're thinking, like I
hope you're not thinking is thather real face, like, what are
you talking about? There's these things I'm
thinking that aren't about your real face.
I don't think Derricks worried about your face, I think he's
worried that you've murdered nine people.
(45:02):
I think he's worried that he's next.
And yeah, that you've got like, Styles is dead, that Scott's mom
is in the hospital, that his sister is dying in an ambulance,
that his whole life has been a disaster.
I don't think he gives a fuck about your face right now, lady.
And that you manipulated him with sex for power.
(45:24):
For power again like. There's so many things that he's
thinking about, and your face isn't any of them.
He doesn't give a shit about your face.
You do. So between the story kind of
cuts back and forth about Decalian and Kali talking about
that Jennifer AKA Julia Bakari is Collie's soft spot and that
(45:46):
she was Collie's emissary and Collie did everything the
Decalian asked her to do, including killing her entire
pack and tried to kill. She mostly, she mostly killed
her emissary. She mostly killed her but she
does admit that like she slashedher up real good but walked away
(46:08):
fairly certain she was still alive.
Yeah, yes, you know. Just a little hint of alive and
the and in the elevator she's like, my name is Julia Bakari.
I don't care. I was calling his emissary.
I don't care. I.
Don't care. I don't fucking care.
I don't care, I don't care. This sepia toned flashback of
(46:31):
Collie leaving Julia for dead and she's like crawling to the
nematon and she's got this storylike but months earlier there
was a sacrifice of a virgin and that it was Derek killing Paige
in the root cellar that gave a spark of power to the nematon.
Again, like, don't put this on Derek.
Don't put this on him. He you gave me No, Derek didn't
(46:54):
do shit for no stop it. Stop it.
Don't take page for yourself. Stop it.
I hated this whole I was so justlike shut up shut.
Up. Yeah, stop talking.
Stop it. Stop it.
Absolutely no. But we definitely cannot begin
to gloss over the fact that thisepisode officially, canonically
became a little more gay becauseKali, like we're we're still
(47:19):
we're talking about, you know, Idid this for you and the
Helian's like, no, no, you did this to be with Ennis and
Kali's. Like, yeah, I guess.
But there's so much like kind ofsubtext and also text, text.
Or I could let someone I love die peacefully.
And maybe I just kept walking. Like, Kali has two hands.
(47:41):
Kali has two hands. Yes, ma'am.
And like the canonical, like Alpha Emissary, just like I'm
screaming, screaming. There's a lot.
Going on there, there's so much happening.
It is wild. Yeah.
I, you know, And then it turns out Jennifer, mostly dead, was
(48:05):
found by Sheriff Stilinski. Thanks, Deputy.
Fucking yeah. Well, yes, Deputy Stilinski, I
think. And then she goes into this
monologue, which I didn't write down because I don't really care
about the myth of why people kiss under mistletoe.
Oh, and it's this Norse myth about frig and Balder and you
(48:25):
know, etcetera. Etcetera.
And like why mistletoe would never be used again as a weapon
and I didn't write down and I she's.
Been using it as a weapon this whole time, right?
She's. Been using it as a weapon and it
being an overlooked plant and then she's like and we were the
overlooked like that's a fucking.
Leap, OK. We being the emissaries, and I
(48:49):
was like, were emissaries actually overlooked?
Like they felt pretty important to the pack.
Yeah. Like like Dekalian specifically
was like, and you have to kill the emissary because they're
important, not like you can leave them out of the killing.
Yeah, well, I don't know. Would you like me to put my
goggles on and take this pony out for a trot?
Always. So we're gonna, we're gonna it.
(49:10):
Has to be merch right? If we ever do merch, like well,
one shipping goggles as like AT shirt or something, like I don't
know if I'm going to do merch because like who's going to buy
it? But also I think it's funny but
like taking the pony out for a trot.
Like I my goggles are on so tight now.
This is definitely one of those things that I don't think they
knew until later seasons. But when you watch it again,
(49:33):
kind of full context, my brain hurts.
So we gonna take a Little Pony out for a little trot.
We're gonna take it off for a little trot.
We're gonna take the pony express out for a little trot
out the the conspiracy pony. So in the middle of her like
Norse mythology lesson about Balder and Frigg, she starts
talking about Loki. And Loki is referred to as a lot
(49:58):
of different things. He is the trickster.
And that's not the word she uses.
Word she uses. She calls him the God of
mischief. She does.
She calls him the God of Mischief, Loki.
And in this moment they cut to Derek like they have Jennifer.
(50:19):
Like her like, like her full on eyes.
And then they cut to Derek and they get his full on eyes and
then he like looks up and away at something.
I think he's looking up and awayat Jennifer.
But they don't show that. They just show him like looking
up and away at something. And my whole my whole thing is
(50:40):
like, why does Derek look up? What is he looking at in Season
6? In Season 6?
That's the thing I haven't seen.We get styles first name.
Yes, the name that people didn'tlike because it wasn't the
fandom name. Yes, the name people didn't like
because it was a fandom name. Oh, it's mischief, right?
Hold on. OK.
Sorry. Yes, ma'am.
I really should have pulled thisup earlier.
(51:01):
I'm very sorry. Yeah, well, so we're going to
get into a little bit of spoilers here for a hot 2nd,
but, you know, spoiler. Spoiler Turn it off Spoiler
Spoiler Something rhyme. Yes, Stiles is a family nickname
that he inherited from his paternal grandfather Elias
Stilinski. Another nickname Stiles had as a
(51:21):
child was Mischief, as it was the closest he was able to
correctly pronouncing his first his true first name, which I
also can't pronounce, and his mother Claudia liked it due to
how accurately it described the mischievous styles.
Delightful. Claudia calls Stiles mischief
Canon. Canonical.
And so it's Jennifer who, Oh my God, I'm so loud right now.
(51:45):
It's Jennifer who drops that word, but it's Derek who reacts
to it. And my goggles are on so
freaking tight. Did.
Did. In their plentiful summertime
off screen conversations, did Styles ever tell Derek that his
mom used to call him mischief? Does Derek think about Styles
(52:06):
when he's when he hears that word?
I'm gonna say yes just because. Just because, but I'm, I'm, I'm
so reaching. I am, I am reaching into the
depths of space. This, this is just, this is me
in the wall here. Are you reaching for a full
moon? I'm reaching for something,
that's for sure. But just the with the they
(52:27):
don't, they don't show Derek andJennifer in the elevator when
they're talking. They're all they're each in
their own little separate worlds.
Yeah, they never show them side by side.
They'll show them side by side and so like Derek looks away and
I'm like, what are you thinking about?
What are you looking at? Memories.
I love that. Moon, the moonlight.
In the moonlight. In the moonlight.
(52:49):
Honestly, This is why we aren't allowed out in public.
Correct. This is why we have a podcast
based on a inside joke that has a whiskey glass as the logo.
We have to drink to watch these shows.
Pretty much. OK, And then Jennifer decides to
injure Derek just a little bit more.
Yeah, she has to bring up Boyd. She has to bring up Boyd.
(53:12):
Yep, she's like, we can, we can defeat the alphas for good.
Because remember what Boyd was talking about?
What happens to a werewolf during the total lunar eclipse?
They lose all of their power. But row.
Which sounds painful. Or maybe it doesn't.
Like maybe it's awesome. I don't know.
Maybe they. Just like maybe they just catch
a cold. Yeah, but yeah, she's like, hey,
(53:32):
remember that thing that they were talking about before they
died? Like shut the fuck up, lady.
Remember that thing that Erica was talking about before she
died? And that thing that Boyd was
talking about before he died? And they didn't know about
because you never got the chanceto tell them.
Yeah, Retro. Because it wasn't that long that
they were your betas. They were your children.
Ouch, Ouch. So outside the elevator, out in
(53:53):
the real world. Everybody else is coming up with
a plan. They're.
Trying to come up with a plan I loved so Scott and Melissa
finally run into the origins. I love Chris being like who the
fuck is this teacher? Don't even know who this is.
Yes, accurate. Isaac's like she's the hot 1.
He's not wrong. He's not totally wrong.
Scott is texting Derek that theyhave a plan.
(54:14):
I don't know how he's getting reception during a storm in an
elevator. In an elevator, yeah, OK.
Great. Maybe they're on a super secret
like bestie Wi-Fi network. Yeah, they've got hotspots.
They do. They don't know what you're
doing. They've got hotspots.
The plan is bringing a car around.
(54:34):
I don't know. Yeah, there there's, there's a
plan. They're going to, they're going
to use Allison as the Hot 1 to draw the twins out and then run
away. And I I don't know.
Because all of a sudden, like Derek's opening the doors, the
twins are running around shirtless, Collie's jumping out
of a window, Allison's firing arrows, Chris is shooting guns,
(54:55):
Melissa's turning on the power. Like and Jennifer is begging
Derek to look at her and her scary face.
Yeah, like, like he he sees you.We got it.
We. We got it.
We got it, guys. You stop, he's not coming back
around to you. So Isaac rolls up to the garage
with Team Ambulance to get Cora into the SUV, and for some
(55:18):
reason the clipboard on the ambulance catches Styles's eye
where you have to sign it sayingparent or guardian parent.
Or. Guardian.
And immediately there's a song that starts playing and the song
is called and the world was gone.
Yes. And it just and all of a sudden
(55:40):
the the roller coaster starts speeding up again and we go on
some loop de loops because the next two minutes are just so
emotional. That's how you know the episode
is going the wrong way. Yeah, because.
Poignant music, green lighting. Yes, Scott is running back
inside, Styles rushes back inside, and we see that Derek
(56:02):
has collapsed inside the elevator.
Jennifer is gone. She escaped from the Hatch.
Up the Hatch, out the Hatch thatearlier she told Derek to be
like. You can't do that.
Scott takes off with a a shout of mom and then Styles comes in
behind and like, it's not quite slow MO, but sort of slow MO.
(56:24):
It's a little slow MO. Yeah, a little.
Slow MO and he takes like a longlook at Derek lying.
And then goes to run and and leaves Derek and goes to follow
Scott. Yep, and then the Arjun's just
fuck off without Scott or Styles.
Yeah, well, 'cause it's Isaac and Allison and Cora and Peter
and Chris and they're all in thecar.
(56:44):
They have to run away. They got to get Cora out of
there. Scott gets to the roof where
Dekalian is waiting, and he's like, bro, I could have warned
you about the guardian thing. Let's help each other here.
You help me catch her. I help you get your mother in
Styles's father back. Because guardians equals
parents. The last sacrifices are parents.
(57:10):
And then Styles gets to the roofand he's like, Scott, don't
fucking do this. We always have a Plan B.
And I don't know about you, but I was like, this is just an echo
of that scene from Motel California.
Yes. Like, they did that on purpose.
Yes. But Styles looks at or Scott
looks at Styles and is like, I'mgoing to find your dad, I
(57:31):
promise. And then he disappears into the
fog with decalion as that fucking music cue is like.
And the world was gone. OK, so I I feel like I'm getting
unfairly angry at Scott here. It's hard because sometimes the
plot dictates the. Plot The plot dictates because
(57:55):
like he wasn't going to go with Dukalian when it was just the
sheriff, but now that his mom isinvolved, he's willing to like
be a little morally great. Like I get I get it.
I would make the same choice butlike.
Yeah, now that it's your mom. Oh, it hurts.
It hurts in a bad way. I don't like it.
Yeah. Mm.
Hmm. I don't like it.
(58:16):
Sometimes it's hard to tell. Like what's gonna tip Scott
over? Yeah.
Like what's the final straw for him sometimes?
Yeah. And it's like looking at it, you
know, that he's making this choice because his mom is now a
player that like, if it was, if it had been, you know, the
sheriff and then Peter, and thenmaybe like, it wouldn't, we
(58:41):
wouldn't be dealing with like a Duqualian situation.
But because it's Melissa Scott kind of gets tipped over the
edge. And like, again, I would make
the same choice. It's my mom.
I like my mom. I'm awfully fond of my mother.
If she got kidnapped, I would, you know, turn into a bad guy.
I'm so fond. I'm so fond of my mother.
I would turn into a bad guy. But like from a from like
(59:02):
watching a fictional thing, I was like, oh, so his dad isn't
good enough for you? Like, yeah.
You're, you're gonna, you're gonna leave him behind.
The dad that you've known him for forever.
And I do really appreciate he like states.
It's not, you know, I'm going togo find our parents.
It's we're going to find your dad.
So like he does acknowledge likewhat he's doing.
(59:23):
He's like, I'm not forgetting about you.
I'm not forgetting about him. But it's still just hurt me in a
bad way. It hurt me in a bad way.
Yeah, it does. And I'm a little mad at Scott.
I know why he made his choices, but I'm still a little mad at
him. I'm frequently just a little mad
at Scott. That's all right.
I'm also frequently a little madat Derek.
(59:43):
But he's so cute. Yeah, he is, and so is Scott.
But like, they make bad choices often.
They do, and yet the women are never in charge.
No. These boys making the dumbest
fucking decisions. Whatever happened to letting
Allison make all the decisions from season 2?
What happened to like Our Women are Leaders, Christopher.
Christopher, I wonder. What happened?
(01:00:04):
What happened to that? Well, we still have one woman
around who's going to make some decisions.
So the sheriff and Melissa aren't dead yet.
Not yet, not today. They whoever tied up at the
nematon and the root cellar. Retro.
And that that chanting real getsreal strong as the episode
closes. And I, I didn't care for that.
(01:00:25):
Yeah, because Mama wakes up and she's, you know, Papa kind of
calms her down. Melissa's like, do you know
where we are? She's he's like, absolutely not.
Looks like a root cellar to me. But she called it something
different. She called it Nematon.
And so the Nematon is coming back together where Paige was
sacrificed unintentionally, where Jennifer was murdered and
(01:00:47):
came back to life, where the sacrifices are going to be made.
And like Nematon. This tree never asked for this.
No, but the tree also doesn't exist anywhere.
The tree's been cut down for reasons, maybe because it was
being a bad guy. Maybe.
Maybe it was just like not doingnice things.
(01:01:08):
Maybe if we were better to Mother Earth, it wouldn't turn
into a bad guy. Right.
That's right. Maybe if we were just nicer to
trees altogether. Hey, I sang to some trees on a
hike earlier today. Nice.
So we we're trying and. Then do it.
Pretty great. Yeah, yeah, I like it.
Yeah. So this is an action-packed,
(01:01:28):
wild episode. Action-packed, plenty of steric
like dribble throughout. An excellent little bit of
Allison and Isaac. They're so cute.
They're so cute. And the kids would have great
hair. Oh.
My God, yes. And just grandpa Grandpa Argent.
The good grandpa Argent, not thebad Grandpa Argent.
I was gonna say wait a minute. Grandpa Chris he'd be.
(01:01:49):
He'd be such a happy grandparent.
Oh my God. He would be very grumpy, like
around everyone, but like alone with the kid.
It would. It would be the Grumpy sunshine
trope, except that Sunshine is the grandbaby.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, totally. But like, we just, you know,
Peter showing up, being a good uncle, Mama McCall being the
(01:02:10):
absolute best, just. True alpha might be Mama McCall.
Correct, Correct. If Mama McCall were to accept
the bite, she would immediately become an alpha.
Just immediately. Like, wait a minute.
Like the least worthy alpha in the vicinity would just get
their powers just automatically transferred.
Yeah. I'm very shy the the council has
(01:02:32):
decided to re appropriate your resources.
A new one has arrived. Exactly.
But no, this, this episode is great.
And we're on the roller coaster and I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
We're climbing up, we're up, we're down, we're all around,
we're spinning. Derek is on an elevator and I
think he's on the ground floor and once again he has just been
(01:02:53):
heated and left for dead again. Poor man.
By a woman who seduced him for power again.
He needs so much time off to recover.
My God, do you think she would have left him on the ground if
he had like complimented her dead face?
He might have he. Might.
Have He might have, yeah, if he had just been like, girl, you're
(01:03:15):
so pretty. Girl, I love the way that your
face slashes. Let me see your bone.
Let me see those dead eyes. Let me see those sinus cavities.
Oh girl. That face looks so good.
It looks like it's all one color.
What kind of foundation do you use?
It's. Some smooth.
(01:03:36):
Exactly. Where are your pores at?
What kind of retinol do you use?You got no wrinkles.
Look at you. Don't look a day over 106.
Correct. Yeah.
But I love this episode. I love this part of the season.
It's gonna be so much fun. And yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Episode 12 is called Lunar
(01:03:57):
Eclipse, so I can't imagine what's gonna happen then.
It's gonna be shocking. Yeah, cuz 311 is alpha packed.
Yeah, yeah. Packed, Alpha packed, packed.
Not alpha packed but alpha packed.
Packed. Well, not packed but packed.
Packed but not packed. Packed, Packed but not packed.
You know, packed, packed and packed.
(01:04:19):
