Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to Husky Stadium. Bretpicket along with Gina. Let's
take a look at your Sporting You starting launs before
our kickoff tonight.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Jennison did win the toss.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
They deferred to the second half, so they will go
on defense.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
First.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
Our started laps brought to you by Sporting You. You
think it Dale Lincoln so Northern. We'll try it out.
The offense first led by junior quarterback Owen Ostapo. We
talked about a big game last week. Nineteen carries two
hundred and five yards, three touchdowns, all rushing.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
He was zero for five passing.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
They only threw six times and completed one with the
backup quarterback.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
His wide receivers.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Cam Weinken and also Dane Briggs, a junior and a
sophomore there than you also have in that wide receiving course.
Lop back Dylan Furlough number one, a senior running back
and a guy that'll probably feed it a lot too
when Owen is not running the football.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
As Colton Sawyer, this guy's a two way starter.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Six carries just twenty five yards, but led the defense
with six tackles last week. You're tight end Levi Silvernail
another multi year varsity player and then an offensive line
lead Hahmed Elon McCauley, a four year varsity player, Daniel Conrad,
Angelo Gagillardio and Josh Peterson up front for Eddie Asti
(01:09):
Poe Jennerson set to kick it away. Cohen Chatfield number
four approaches and they're visiting white uniformers, the green Pants.
The green Caps high end over rank kick taking inside
the five of the fly at to three, across to
ten to fifteen, and then trying to reverse his field
dropped short of the twenty yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
At the eighteen.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Unofficially is Jason Scruggs, the senior return man on the
stop for special teams for Jennison was number twenty one
for the Wildcats, and that's Thaddeus Rabinski, so first in
ten Forest Hills Northern There. The defense has eight senior
starters for head coach Josh Lucas, led by Brady Hump's
(01:46):
one defensive end, Carson Magala on the other side of
junior Nick Potter defensive tackle, one of only two way
starters for the Wildcats. He's a big guy six three
two fifty five handoff left side and right there defensively
to stop him was big number nine Carson mcgala, junior
defensive end. Also over there was big number seventy. I
was just talking about Nick Potter. He's only a sophomore, folks.
(02:09):
Josh Lucas high praise. He thinks he's one of the
best linemen by the time this season is done.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
In the ok Retts, Well.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
The first play from scrimmage, they really get out there,
good penetration. They try to run Sawyer to the left side,
and that whole side of the offensive line was two
yards back before Sawyer even got the ball, So they're
gonna have to find a way to get him worked
into the rotation.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
They can't just go exclusively.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Ostapo loss of three second and thirteen, rolling to his right,
wants to throw now, gonna tuck it and run.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
He's got some speed.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Gets to the outside and across the twenty steps out
of the twenty four yard line, right in front of
the Usky bench. That's Owen Ostapo, the junior quarterback. Nice
pick up there on second and long. They'll spot him
out at the twenty four so it's gonna be a
gain of roughly ten maybe nine.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
They'll set up third and four now for Fahn. Well,
that's what we see out of Owen.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
He gets outside the pocket and nobody available down field,
and he's able to turn on the speed get a
pretty good gain over the right side. But like I said,
Bet Jennison knows he likes to run. He eventually is
gonna have to throw that ball somewhere downfield. Somebody's gotta
get open slot.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
To the left far side of the field.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Now the motion a man that way from right to left,
Sawyer the backfield to the left of Ostapo out of
the short shotgun takes a snap, stays in the pocket,
looking looking Now the pocket breaks down, He's gonna.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Be hit and drop for a loss.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Nice job searching for He gets a rugby pushed me
his offensive line and oh my goodness, he's got the
first down.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
He was hit behind the twenty five.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Near the line of scrimmage for a sack and then
literally like a rugby scrum, the offensive line got behind
him pushed him for a first down.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
I've never seen that before. Buck out to the twenty
nine yard line.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Oh, we've seen it, but not like that where he's
dead the rights and all of a sudden, i mean,
just gets behind him and starts pushing, but it's a
great effort by the offensive line and even the backs
there that like you said, the pocket collapses, he takes
the hit, doesn't find the throwing land, but a great
effort by the Northern offensive line gets them the first down.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
What a conversion on third down? Is now a new
quarterback in there for Forest Hills Northern Cage Bush the
sophomore who is the backup wingback set to the left side,
slot that way wide side of the field. First in
ten from their own twenty nine. They'll motion the man
from left to right lead blocker for Sawyer. Sawyer gets
(04:22):
a handoff right side Dragson would be tacklers strong rugby
player is Sawyer out to the thirty four Nice pick
up that time of five. Second in five as we
roll into the ten minute mark, left to go here
opening quarter. This first quarter being brought to you by
a Straight Line Fence, the fencing company Grand Rapids with
a personal touch, offering both residential and commercial fencing projects.
Call them today for your free estimate six one, six, four, four,
(04:43):
three twenty five fifty or visit.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Straight Line Fences dot com.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Second in five wing backstack to the wide side of
the fields and movement up front. Yeah, that was defensive
encroachment by Carson Rogala. Remember in high school, they don't
need contact, you just break that invisible Planet's an automatic
penalty flag.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
That's gonna be really hard to get contact on your
nobody's standing around.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Also makes it really obvious we do go across the line,
it's gonna give the Huskies a free first down too. Yeah,
that's a tip.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
We saw that last week with the Byron Center Huts
Steel game. Brett just early sloppiness there, but those penalties
that turned into first downs those drive coaches crazy.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
I know Josh Lucas doesn't like that. But here it
is first and.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Ten, working from the right, hash Ostapo back in there.
Ryde Sawyer then tries to call his own number and
he's stacked up with a wave of white jerseys again,
caught behind the line of scrimmage, back of the thirty
eight yard line. One of the first guys there defensively
for Jennison was number fourteen, and that's Colin Harrima, the
linebackers senior six point eight five. I only says Ford
(05:45):
progesting gonna move it up to the thirty eight loss
of one second and eleven opening drive of this ball game.
Four stills Northern, still on their side of the fifty.
We've almost rolled three minutes off the clock. Here, two
wide receivers each way, one back in the backfield lost
to poone out of the short shot. Gun Jakes his
snap looking looking pressure again by Jennison, flushed out wing
(06:06):
to the left, got a man open and oh, unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Just threw his hands. He was wide open with Dylan Furlough.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
He wanted to get you up down the sideline because
he knew no one was around him, but had to
come back for the football.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
A little bit just went through his fingers incomplete. Yeah,
and I.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Think Owen would probably like to have that one back
a little bit because, like you said, there was nobody
in the same area code as Furlough. The problem was,
as you said, Brett, he had to come back for
the ball. And if you're that wide open and you
know that there's nothing but Fielter in front of you,
like you said, you want to try to grab it
and go. I think Owen probably wants to put a
little more air under that one and just underthrows him.
(06:42):
Otherwise they would have had a big game.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Jennison getting pressure up front though four down linemen third
and long, Ostapoe wants to drop back a pass again,
flushed out the pocket, welling to his right, throws.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
On the run for furlough. Did he make the catch?
Speaker 1 (06:54):
No, went down to try to make a diving catching
wildcat territory near the thirty two and that one hopped
on the turf incomplete. So now fourth and long, it
looks like the Husky's gonna try out the punt unit here.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Yeah, I mean, not a bad first series.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
It didn't go exactly how coach Eddie Asipo probably drew
it up. But they get the ball out, they're gonna
win the field position battle most likely get the punt down,
and that's really if you can't score, at least put
the other team back.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
So they have to go all the way down the field.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Now you mentioned this to me because you know the
Husky as well. They go with a two kicker system.
So two kickers back there in punt formation and Garrett
and amberheind and they can do a lot of different
things off this. They snap it and it's gonna be
Garrett the left foot or to kick it away end
over end kick hits inside the thirty five to thirty four,
(07:44):
Jennison just clears away, takes a favorable husky bounce down
inside the twenty five and gonna be down to the
twenty one yard line. So nice job by Sam Garrett
punting that away. And for Gennison and Josh lucas their
defense holes. I told you he really liked the way
they played in that twenty eight to seven win over
Kalamazoo's Central, saying Kalamazu Central scored late in that game
in the fourth quarter, so they were pitching a shutout.
(08:05):
And now Jennison offensively will take over first and ten
first possession on offense for them in this game with
eight thirty one left to go in the opening quarter,
and they're let out by their quarterback. He's a senior
five to nine one sixty Watchman warm ups though. He's
a guy who can run with his feet and also
has a pretty good armed Parker Felgner had a rushing
and passing touchdown last week and that went over the Maroons.
(08:26):
They come out empty backfield, three wideceivers the right, two
to the left. Felgner sets fires complete, got his man
on an out pattern short at the twenty five fighting
for extra yardage and up to the twenty five for
a game of four on the catch Ethan Morse, a
six ft one hundred and seventy five pounds junior. They've
got Morse, They've got chatfielders also their kicker, and Luke
(08:47):
Vandergraff a little bit taller target number seventeen sixty two,
one sixty five.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
In the junior.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Ye Huski's running a four to two five bass nickel,
which means if they go empty that one of the
linebackers is going to be key down.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
The quarterback Max McKinney's an extra on receiver. They also
got a good running back and who they handed off
here on second down and long, and that's Brody Skidaim.
He's across to twenty five, rambling with that big body
out across the thirty. Got a first down or close
to it at the thirty one skyt him ran for
over one hundred yards last week in that win. He's
a returning starter and one of only two two way starters.
(09:18):
He and the big fella I mentioned earlier, number seventy,
Nick Potter the only guys to go both ways. You
see that a lot with the bigger numbers in the
OK Red. They want to keep guys fresh. But telling
you what kind of guy or gally he goes about
two hundred and fifteen pounds in sctim it with some speed,
hand off right side, trying to get the edge. Got
it as he got enough for the first on that
last carry and carrying it would be tacked or across
(09:40):
the thirty five and out of bounds on the far
sideline out near the thirty eight.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Let's see where they spot him.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Nice run of seven that time by skyte him and
second down in three.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
And I tell you he's got a burst for a
big guy.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Well, and right now Northern is starting to cycle some
guys in defensively. Clearly the running game with Skytamin is
the way they want to go, so trying to bring
it a little bit more size both outside and interior.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Cooper Makma is the left tackle six two two thirty
and junior left guard is Cooper not he's a senior
sixty one two twenty five. Alex Topolinski junior center number
sixty six, Josia Williamson and then Nick Potter round out
your front five handoff Skydeman stacked up by the Husky
defense at time drop for no gain right back at
the thirty eight yard line, So third and short coming up.
(10:28):
They had to replace all five offensive line starters at
a great senior class from a year ago that Josh
Lucas had to work with in year one, So that
was a big concern. But happy the way they played
obviously in that victory last week.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
And they'll do a little bit of both.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
You'll see them with the three wide receiver set, maybe
throw a fourth in there, like we said, to go
empty backfield, and then Ryot Skideman and a very capable
quarterback in Felgner. If he gets outside third and short,
they'll shift two guys over from the left side to
the right side short side of the field from the
right hash short slot.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
That way, handoff, Skideran's got.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
The lead blockers and he's got a first down up defended.
As he crossed the forty three dives forward to the
forty five. That'll be enough for a first down gain
of seven. Moved the chains first in ten six fifty
three left to go, opening quarter Jennison on the move here,
pushing towards the midfield stripe.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Well, they judge the lineup power, they shift over and
just outnumber the Huskies at the point of attack.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Good run by Skateman.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Nice job there by Joe Persis to come in from
the cornerback spot because there wasn't a lot of help
coming in from the secondary, and Purchase made a nice tackle.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Four down lineup for the Husky showing a little blitz
here as the linebackers encroaching hand off left side from
right to left, pushing his way out to the midfield stripe,
skytaim in again, gain of five. He'll be a workhorse
with the carries mentioned rush for over one hundred yards
last week, second down and five right at the midfield stripe.
(11:48):
And they're doing it against really the strength of the
defense for the Huskies, a defensive line Eli McCully, a
senior four year varsity starter, Levi Silvernail goes both ways,
Brandon Armor and also Kyle Saint John up front.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Yeah, and they're starting to cycle already. Like I said,
guys in there to get rotated, one.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
Wide receiver each way, handoff scot him and trying to
get the edge, turns the corner, stealing his feet, pushing
the pile close to that first down marker. He's into
Husky territory, but he's short by about a yard and
a half.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
See where they spot him.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
I think at the forty seven he's got to get
just on the right side of the forty five as
they move from right to left. On your radio dial,
third and short and we've got Linemen the sophomore. It
looks yeah, it's Potter's shaking up a little bit here,
So officials time out.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
We'll see how serious it is. Trainer's gonna come out.
I don't think it would be a cramp at this
early stage. Let's hope that is twenty Toorge is right
and knee well.
Speaker 1 (12:46):

that's Sporting the letter YOUU dot com. Good news here
(13:08):
just shaking up a little bit, took a shot low,
but Potter gonna walk off on his own power buckets.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Yeah, well, it's gonna be a big lot for the one.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
If there's a guy that you don't want to lose
on third and two, it's probably number seventy for Jennison.
But they're gonna have to press on here. And I
would assume whoever they put in there. Now, if I'm
coach Sadie Astepo and his defensive staff, I'm thinking, okay,
they're probably not going to run exactly where they just
took out Potter.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Two backs in.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
The backfield now, one each side of Feldner takes the
snap out of the short shotgun handoff Scotiman from right
to left, and he's got the first down again. Good
job of that offensive line with those new starters, and
they're plowing his way inside the husky forty five to
the forty four.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Well, if you're northern, you just got to find a
way to get a stop. I mean, they get this
kind of nickel and dimdie all the way down the field.
Hasn't been any explosive plays. The biggest gain in the
drive is so far as seventy are but they're just
keeping the pace moving forward. So if you're Northern, you
got to find a way to get a negative play
or blow something up in the backfield.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Trips to the right.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Max McKinney, the senior wide right, they're gonna swing it
out in the flats and trying to make a man miss.
Great open field tackle was Chatfield working against defensively that time,
Cage Bush, the sophomore defensive back, and Bush had none
of it, drops him for a loss of four and
that's back.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
To the forty eight yard line of FHN.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
That's a great effort there by Bush because if he
doesn't make the tackle, the next volunteer was a waves
down field. So that's a good job there by Cage
to keep him in front of him. Makes a good
open field tackle, and there's the negative play that I
was talking about. It wasn't set up for that, but
they make a nice play. Now it's a loss of
four and it sets him for second long Bush.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Jason Scruggs, Eli Woolery, Jack Edwards, and Joe Purchase your
defensive secondary in there for FHN.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
And what this also does is it kind of takes
guy had been a little bit out of play here
second and fourteen, probably think, oh, they're going to have
to air it out a little bit at least try
to get to the perimeter.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Wildcat's first offensive possession, they send a man in motion.
That's Chatfield wanting to throw incomplete and he was under
some duress that time. Was Felgner trying to throw it downfield.
Intender receiver was McKinney incomplete on a little insign route.
Pretty good coverats by Fachen brings up third down, it
long now and stops the clock with incompletion at four
oh one left to go.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
No score in this one.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Well, Silvernail linds up at defensive end and Feldner's like, okay,
who's supposed to block that guy because he came in
full sprint and just put me on my can. And
it wasn't a great throw because Feldner had to get
rid of the football so early when the receiver hadn't
even turned around yet by the time he released the ball.
So good job there for the Huskies. They get aggressive.
(15:47):
Silvernail makes them throw the ball early. Now it's third
and fourteen, a very long down in distance for Jennison.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
Faugner again, two backs to back vill lot, some movement
handoff scut him and they got away with it over
the right side, gets to the forty five of the
Huskies close to the original line of scrimmage whether they
lost yardage, and he's gonna be to the forty four.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
They give him forward progress.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
So fourth in ten now, but in Husky territory, let's
see what Josh Lucas and Walkcats do. It looks like
with the wholesale substitutions, they might punt this one away
and play field position.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Yeah, I think he'd probably have to do that here
because even though Northern did get out, I mean, the
Genisen defense played really well that last series. So if
I'm Josh Lucas, I'm comfortable kicking the ball away here
and making the Huskies go the distance.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
Cage bush back deep from the defensive secondary. Chatfield is
a very good field goal kicker back to punting away
to his own forty two, takes a snap, kicks it away,
angling towards the far sideline, wobbly spiral, hits inside the fifteen,
and like a web shot, just kind of rolls dead
inside the ten at the eight yard line.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
Nice kick that time by Chatfield.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
No return pinning the Huskies for their second offensive possession
of this game inside their ten yard line.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
They'll start first in ten at or eight.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
Well, Coach Ostopose rules always you get to the eight
yard line. If it goes over your head, then you
don't catch it. That one a little bit shorter of
that mark, but it was such a high kick and
it wasn't a really long kick, so the coverage was
down there. You have to let that bounce and they
get a good one that sets him inside the ten
to Husky, He's got a long way to go to
get the pay dirt here.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Furlough Wine can and also Dane Briggs in the trips
right to the Wine side of the field. First inten
Sawyer in the backfield to the left of Ostipo, say
work for the left hash. I want to tell you
a little story with Eddie Ostopo that you share with
us about the hash marks and his thoughts on that.
Different in high school than you see in college and pro.
They'll motion furlough from right to left, roun behind it.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
Look out.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
Ostipo breaks a tackle up the sideline across the thirty
and finally tripped up at the thirty four yard line.
Nice pickup there of twenty six yards. Owen Ostapo the
junior quarterback, and he did a lot of that last
week against Kenawa Hills Bock.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
That's just a simple mesh action and they get the
linebacker to commit down words and he just reads that
takes it right over the left guard's hip, makes a
nice run.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
Big game.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
That's what they needed to get out from that hole,
get out of the shadow of their own goal posts,
and a get.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
In the field position.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
This is I feel like field position would be very
critical getting this game. Perhaps we're seeing right now that
that's a big game for them, not only to get
some momentum going, but to get them out of their
own end.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Trips to the right, faked Sawyer ostapol left sign makes
a man.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Miss cross the forty big gainer.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
He's got another first down as a good job by
that old line finding a crease over the left sign.
Was the junior quarterback out to the forty five game
of eleven More, remember nineteen carries two hundred and five
yards and three touchdowns on the ground last week and
that lost a Kennlewy Hills is now a Jennison defender.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Shaken up. Yeah, Luke Vandergrad.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Well he got right up and he's like, no, I'm fine,
and well, no, we already blew the whistle, so you
got to go out for a play. And so they'll
reset here and it's probably a break for Jennison really
because they're reeling after those two big runs by Ostapop.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Trying to get to one and one.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
Felt they should have won the game last week, but
now puts added pressure on trying to win here at
home against a very good Genison club. First down in
ten handoff Sawyer coming near side makes a man miss.
Nice cut cross the midfield strife. That's Colton Sawyer into
wildcast territory inside the forty five. He's got a first
down out of the Jennison forty three yard line. And
(19:25):
I think they need a little more balanced. I think
Edding his staff would agree. All the carries last week,
Owen is fantastic, bit Sawyer is a great combination with him.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Well, they tried to go tempo here and that didn't
go as a planned as there's a little early movement.
But you're right, Beret, they needed to go a little
more balanced. Sawyer getting the carry there, and it does
exactly what I love. I know you're a Lions guy
and a Barry Saners guy. But the guy that did
it before in Walter Payton, he loved to get the
outside and then put the outside foot down and go
(19:56):
against the green.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
That's what Sawyer does there.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
He gets out to the numbers, puts that right foot
down and cuts back and makes a really nice move
and gets back inside for a good game at twelve.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
And I wouldn't want to tackle him.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
He's put together yep, just like Scott Himan on the
other side. So first and fifteen after the penalty, well,
so everyone some movement again. That's first and ten yep.
Defensive encroachments and moving up front by Jennison far side,
defensive tackle.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
So he'll give the five back. It'll be first and
ten now at the Jennison forty three yard line.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
So the Husky's on the move. No score two twelve
and ticking left to go in this opening quarter. Glad
to every long of this week two edition. Friday Night
next week by the way, West Catholic at South Christian
and West Catholic hosting Coopersville tonight. Ronco's reeling after that
tough loss to Luvington. How about South Christian againstast Grand Rapids.
Not an easy game. Handoff Sawyer left side, trying to
(20:50):
bang his way in there, then corral. They're trying to
punch that football out, but he hangs on to it
and it's not where's ford progress is because he was
still fighting for yard She's actually gonna lose yardage. They're
back to the forty four. So second eleven coming up
now for FHM.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
They had maybe like a half yard game, but then
turned it around try to get the other side. And
it's dangerous in two different ways because like you said,
they're trying to punch the ball out, but he also
lose his yardage.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
And now they go to second and eleven.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
I mean not that it would have been a huge difference,
but you just take the you put the turnover and
play there.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Senior Levi Silvanair wearing number forty four is your kind
of h back wing back if you will. He stacked
to the left side. They've got Sawyer that way as well.
On second and eleven. Now send a man in motion
from right to left. They'll flood the left side.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
Handoff. Sawyer's gotta crease fighting for xtra yards.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Look, I'm trying to strip that football down inside the
forty shy of the thirty nine for the rugby players.
Sawyer coming up off the bottom of the pile on
the tackle that time for Jennison.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Good toes se him back in. It was Vandergraff.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
It's gonna set up now with a gain of four,
third and seven for the Huskies, and this might be
the final play this opening quarter.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
That one just Nick Potter being a disruptive force there
and Sawyer looked like he had a lane. But Potter,
now back in action, reaches that big pot out there
and slows him down. Let's the rest of the defense
come in. I think this is where he got two
plays to make a first down. Here, slot to the right,
one receiver left, Silvernal that way.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
They're gonna throw a silver down in the flats to
the near side, tries to turn up field, stumbling it again.
Vandergraft there to trip him up short of the first down.
Marker boy, if you could avoid him. Silvernail had some
running room and had a blocker down field, but they
trip him up at the thirty seven yard line of Jennison.
So it's gonna set up fourth and four, and it
(22:39):
looks like the clock's gonna run out of the opening quarter.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
Yeah, and just kind of tried to rush that one
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
Silvernail is open there, and Ostapo has him think if
he lets Silvernail take one more step and get into
that roud, maybe he's got the momentum.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
But it was just a little bit off.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
But they do get a couple of yards and they're
gonna get to talk about this fourth down play here
at the quarter break.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
All right, we take a time out, no score after one,
teams will switch sides. A big fourth down coming up
for FA ten taking on the Jennison Wildcats, and you're
listening to it live here on ninety six to one,
the game bred Bikina Bucchino back here, fourth in four
and here we go fake de Sawyer right side Ostipo
and they get around the ankle, stack him up short
(23:19):
of that first down marker. They're gonna say four in
progress to the thirty six and turnover on downs.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
How about the Wildcats defense? Coach Lucas said.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
He liked the way they played eight senior starters, so
on experience side for him. And they get this stop
there against Ostapo, first down in ten turnover on downs,
Jennison will get it for the second time tonight. Offensively,
it's been a low possession game early in the second quarter,
no score between fah Ten and Jennison.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
Well, and they tried to go over the right side,
and that play has worked for them before, but I
think Jennison they felt that the ostopo was gonna get
the ball in his hands, and they kind of jump
the play a little bit and they really got in
there before Northern could even set up the blocking. And
it's a good job there by Jennison, and they'll turn
the ball over. The best field position for anybody starting
(24:10):
a drive.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Yet tonight Lineman coming out late there and he's got
to be the lead blocker for Scutaiman on this play.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Scot him in turns to the corner off the.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Sideline across the midfields, tripe one man to beat, trying
to fight him off.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
But run him out of bounds.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
The last man between him and the end zone, Brody's
Skydaiman with that speed once he turned the quarter deep
into Husky territory, they knock him out to twenty six,
saving the touchdown that time for FHN was the sophomore
Cage Bush big run that time for Jennison and Brody's
skide him a big number twenty Wildcats.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Well, like you said, they had somebody coming out late,
and well maybe they should try that every time because
it worked pretty well. Scot him up the sideline and
just nobody outside. They were able to seal that edge,
didn't get a lot of help on the pursuit and
Bush had to make the tough tackle on the sideline.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
Thirty nine yards.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
They mark at the twenty five fah sen on that
carry handoff now on first in ten as they rotated
in another back, give a breather. That's Colin Harrima the
senior six one, one eight five just over that right
side down to the twenty two yard line, gain of
three second and seven. Hey, don't forget to check out

(25:45):
right side, gets those shoulders down low, fighting inside the
twenty to the nineteen. It's going to be about three
and a half yards short of that first down, Marcus.
We roll towards ten and a half minutes left to go.
First half, still no score, but Jennison their deepest penetration
here and just their second offensive drive of the night.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
Well and Northern got a big play on the first
drive of a negative play, and that's what they've got
to have here.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
Now.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
A big run by Skydeman sets this up, but they've
stiffened as of late. They've got to get a stop
here and make Jonnason make a decision.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Do they go for the field or do they try
to get the first out?
Speaker 1 (26:20):
One on receiver each way McKinney to the right, two
backs in the backfield. They want to ear it out
of the fade pattern. Oh, just off his fingertips. They
were going for the taller receiver and Vanderkraft on the
far side corner. Pretty good throw that time by the quarterback.
Parker Feulgner, but just couldn't connect. And I tell you
(26:40):
what he had the defensive back beat by a couple
of yards.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
A great throw by Feldner.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Well, I'm kind of surprised there, Brett, because you're throwing
the ball into the end zone. I feel like that
tells me you're gonna go for it if you don't
get it, because you're kind of giving yourself another chance.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
But instead they do bring out the kicker.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
Well, ye's got He's a good kicker for sure, But
kind of surprised they went with that play and then
brought out the kicker.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
But what do I know?
Speaker 1 (27:07):
Middle of the field. Thirty six yard attempt out of
the hold of Ethan Morse. He was good in practice
from this range. Snap is a go and hold, his down,
kick is up on.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
The way, plenty of leg and it's good.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
A thirty six yard field goal by Cohen Chatfield the
junior kicker, and Jennison strikes first with ten sixteen left
to go and courter number two three nothing over Forest
Hills Northern. We'll come back with Morris. You're listening to
Frontay thatad lines live. You're on ninety six to one.
The game brought to you by our friends at Lake
Michigan Credit Union. A little bit of a cross win
(27:44):
here at Husky Stadium. But Cohen Chatfield a thirty six
yard field goal moments ago by Jennison Now kicks it
off high endover and kick taking by Jason Scruggs coming
near side.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
Look out. Scruggs has a lane.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
He's across the midfield, stride inside the forty, trying to
cut back of.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
The twenty oh. He pitched it back to a teammate.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
It almost got it to go inside the fifteen down
to the fourteen yard line. Dangerous play. Beneathan Diaz Lawton
the senior was the guy who finished it off there.
And the reason I bring that up is what did
Eddiostapos say to us when he joined us on the
high school football preview. We have to clean up special teams.
We made mistakes there. Boy, that was a dangerous pitchback
(28:26):
there after a great return by Jason Scruggs.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
I think the next guy in the Andrew list is
gonna be coach. With the heart attack. Wow, Husky grow there,
but like you said, they hang on to it. I
like the the imagination by Scrugs. Maybe just not right then,
because and after what happened last night exactly. But that's
a that's a heads he play there it ends up
working out, but really a terrific return off the bat
(28:52):
for Scrugs gets him deep into Jennison terror.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
The positive is they said, what do we want to
clean up special teams? Great kickoff return there by Scruggs.
Hopefully they can answer now with a touchdown. Sawyer handoff
right side had a crease down to the ten yard line.
Nice job of the old line and that right side
for a gain of four second and six as we will,
under ten minutes left to go first half, so three
nothing Jennison.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
Let's quickly recap that Wildcat scoring drive.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
Well, Jennison ends up a thirty six yard field goal.
They had one minutes and thirty eight seconds and they covered.
They only covered twenty one yards because they had to
kick the field goal. A thirty six yard field goal
by a Chatfield that opens a scoring three to nothing Wildcats.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
But knocking on the door in the red zone after
that big kick returned by Scruggs, the Huskies here trying
to take the lead or at least match the field goal.
Attack two wide receivers the right one to the left
one back in the backfield is Sawyer with ostable handoff.
Sawyer right side, nice cunt fighting his way down to
the five yard line. Close to that first down marker
looks like he's gonna be about a yard short, needs
(29:53):
to get inside the four.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
But Colton Sawyer number thirty running hard.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
He's been a good one two combination with a Ostio
who really carried the load last week in that tough
loss to Kenway Hills.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Well, and this is where this is where games can
pivot right. So you hold Jennison to three. There after
they get a long run to set up good field position,
and then you get a big kick return and put
you down into the opponent's end.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
This is where you gotta capitalize third and short. Ostipo
fanks the Sawyer right side touchdown. Oh on Ostepo.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Takes it in from five yards out, his fourth rushing
touchdown of the season he had three last week. And
with that, the Huskies have their first lead a night,
six to three, with eight thirty.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Nine left to go. Extra point upcoming.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
Well, I mean, FHN really had to treat that. You know,
when you're walking down the street and you find a
ten dollar bill. That's kind of how that Struggs return
made them feel they were they kind of they had
a good stop there, but then a really good return
by Shrug sets him up and they capitalize there.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
They take the lead. Right back.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Sam Garrett trying to tack on the extra point snap
a low they get it down kick on the way
low line driving kick, but he drills it through the uprights.
And so with eight thirty nine left to go first half,
the Huskies answer and take the lead with a touchdown
seven to three over Jennison. We'll step aside with the
time out of the fields. You're listening to live action
(31:17):
here at Husky Stadium on the campus of Forest Sills
Northern High School. It's the LMCU High School Football Game
of the Week, exclusively here on ninety six to one.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
The game Frippekina Pocchino back here.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
In Husky Stadium, our studio host Tonight, Rick Burkey, Executive
producer extraordinaire, the one the only John I'll flining back
from New York City today, Johnny, we appreciate the effort.
Is on the kickoff return, Cam Winken, they went with
a squib kick. They just kind of laid it down
flat and kicked it off the turf. For Garrett, it
took a funny bounce, but credit wine Can not only
(31:54):
did he feel it well at about the seventeen yard like
came nearsth had a wall set up in a great
return out to the forty five.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
I mean you're looking at that and you're thinking, Okay,
they're gonna squid it. They're probably gonna get a good
field position. It was a really nice return by Harrima
there to get it that far, because boy, that was
a tough one to feel. But they set up the
blocking well and they look like they watched that on
tape a little bit this week because.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
They really made a nice return there.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
First down and ten Nelson movie. Yeah, one of the
wide receivers got nearly started. Thank you for correcting me. Well,
I was looking at the husky fourteen. It was Jennison's
return man Herrima.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
Well, I think I was watching Feldnder being very relieved
that that was a false start because they snapped in
the ball wasn't very good and there was about three
black shirts standing within about a yard of him, and
he was like.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
Please blow a dead please, and yeah they did.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
So it's fourth excuse me, first and fifteen, And that's
something we've seen from Jennison now a couple of different
times is pre snap penalties, and that's one of those
things that you try to clean up in week one
and Jennyson so far has already had a couple of those,
and we gotta stoppage here.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Well, the official hasn't blown it in yet. Okay, Feldner
got it a little bit early start. So first and
fifteen working for their own forty yard line after the
penalty showing blitz the Huskies all the ballpop loose, high
hand off to Skyaim and he just wisely went down
on it, but lost yardage in the backfield to recover
it back inside the thirty nine at the thirty eight
yard line. So right now, Jennison reverse on this drive.
(33:17):
It's gonna be second in long coming up with the
Wildcats trailing seven to three.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
And we saw this last week too.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
Not a great snap there at the head level of Feldner.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
I pull it down. That just messes up the timing.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
I mean Skydeman's expecting the ball at hip level right
there and instead it's kind of in his shoulder pads.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
That causes the mishandle clock.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Rolls under eight minutes left to go, first half, second
down and seventeen from their own thirty eight Feldner design
quarterback keeper nowhere to go, just gonna run on a
bounds near side, shoved out near the line of scrimmage,
and they're gonna say right there at the thirty eight.
One of the first guys there defensively was Kyle Saint John,
the senior defensive lineman. And while we have a moment buck,
let's recap now that Husky scoring drive to give them
(33:59):
the lead seven to three.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
Well, three plays, fourteen yard set up by that Jason
Scruggs kick return. Also Ethan diazlotin to help on that one,
but they get the ball at the fourteen. They go
three plays, Ivan Ostapo cap it off at five yard
touchdown run extra point is good and Husky's leads seven
to three.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
Scoring recap brought to you by MKD Funeral Homes, eight
locations strong to serve you every story, every moment, every day.
Find out more at MKD Funeral Home. That's singular dot
com Morrison motion. On third down along from left to right,
they go with the four wide receiver set across the middle.
Always put it right out of the money. But what
a hit to Jarr't loose that time. He's playing a
will of a game. The sophomore Cage Bush. Yeah, that's
(34:39):
a really good point there by Bush. He comes in
support from the safety spot. That was gonna be a catch.
It's a heck of a ball there.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
To Cohen Chatfield, Yep, I mean Felder puts it right
on the money, right out the fingertips, and Strong looked
like he was gonna get the first down to Busch,
just puts the hammer down right at the correct time,
jars the ball loose. And now Jennison, who had a
lot of momentum about three minutes ago, right now staring
down the barrel of a husky's rally.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
Chatfield had to remember he was trotting off the field.
Oh yeah, I'm the punter on fourth and launch. You
had to drop back to Yeah. The twenty five, he
took a shot. Oh bad, snap kind of bounced to him,
but he gets it away not much pressure. Wobbly spiral
hits inside the thirty four, stills northern, it's going to
clear out. Takes a favorable wildcat bow still rolling inside
the twenty five. They're gonna down that thing at the
FHN twenty So a nice job by Chatfield.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
He fell down as he kicked it well and you
saw their purchase.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
Thought about it, but with the miscues they had last
week in the punting arena, he was like, you know what,
We're just gonna let this one bounce, and you're right.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
Chatfield has to go punt that. He probably goes to coach.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
Luca's go, hey, coach, if I have to punt, can
we not run that one again?
Speaker 2 (35:45):
Because that wasn't any fun.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
I got hitting the ribs, they got to kick the ball,
then they didn't snap it to me.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
I fell down. I just want to just get me
off the field. Here.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Let's see if oone Ostipo and the Huskies now take
advantage rolling a little bit after that last short field
scoring drive to take the lead seven to three. He
took it in from five yards out. Don't forget stay
with us for the whole steps of physical therapy. Halftime show,
live game reporters with their reports and more from across
the airy handoff Sawyer over the right side short of
(36:14):
the twenty five. They'll stop at the twenty four for
a gain of four second and six clock continues to
roll six point forty four in ticking left to go
seven to three for Stills North with Jennison of course
our lake Shore game of the week. He can check
out on one oh seven point nine WMS The Moose,
Tom Kendrick, Jason hutting out there, Hackley Stadium, good one.
Rockford at Miskegan, both teams coming to oh to one.
Kind of similar to Fahen here. You don't want to
(36:35):
drop zero to two, especially in the OK Red or
the OK Green.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
There's probably a few people there.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
Second down in six Levi Silvernail looking over to see
what the play is. They set him as a wing back,
kind of h back to the near side. Yeah, a
little bit of a tell here. We'll see if they
go counteraction Sawyer to the left and Ostipo is gonna
swing it out in the flats to him as complete
but right there defensively, nice tackle that time.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
McKinney.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
That's Max McKitty as he crossed the twenty five for
a short gain to the twenty seven yard line. It's
gonna be third and three coming up for the Huskies
after a gain of just three.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
Well, the Huskies have had some trouble getting opened downfield.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
A lot of guys in the skill positions.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
Were new already this year, and some of those guys
got hurt. So they're kind of digging deep into the
bag of wide receivers just to get those positions filled.
So right now, downfield hasn't been there for Astepo. He's
had to go to the short route and he's made
only a couple of completions for prettey short yardage.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
After this play, I want to tell you about what
coach Ostabo has been around the block here coaching high
school football. His thoughts on the hash marks as they
work from the near side, hashmarks handoff Sawyer and ooh,
it's gonna be close. Nice tackle by Scott him in
the linebacker, and I think they dropped him short at
the twenty nine. I asked Getty Ostapol, I love to
do this in basketball, and you always hear from basketball coaches,
right they'd like a shot clock.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
In high school basketball. I said, what would be an improvement?
Would you like to change? Oh?
Speaker 1 (37:59):
Quickly up over the foot fotball four stills Northern and
the go for it here on their own territory fourth
to one hand offf Sawyer dives over and he's got
the first down. Change the pace a little bit. The
Huskies keep the drive alive. Boy, that's a statement inside
your own thirty. As Sawyer dives over for two yards
to pick up the first time, move to change first
and ten, and I asked Eddie, I said, what would
(38:19):
be one change you'd like to see high school football?
He said, I'd like to see college hash marks, he said,
right now, This way it's set up with the wide
hash marks really favors the defense as far as tough
to run to the short side with anything of.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
The field, and the quarterback's got to throw it a
half mile if he wants to throw the whiteside of.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
The faceh For those people that don't understand, I'll have
Buck explain a little bit more. But I mean the
college house marks are further in the NFL, even closer
yet to the middle of the field, so you have
to defend more on both sides. As the Huskies work
from the near side hash first down and ten, they'll
motion silver hil from right to left. Sawyer gonna run
behind him left side, just backs his way. Nice run
by Golden Storwyer the senior out to the thirty five
(38:57):
for a gain of four, and the Huskies keep it
rolling here second and six as we approached form and
it's left to go.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
But this has been a low possession game and thus
you see it. But kind of what we expected.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
Seven to three four, sois Northern leads well and kind
of what we also expected. I think defensively, both teams
have played pretty well. I think, I know you look
at kind of what's scoring thirty one last week and like, well,
they wouldn't play that good. But no, I mean it's
a good team. But yeah, this is kind of exactly
what we thought it would be. Probably didn't get there
the way we thought it would with that big kick return,
(39:29):
but for overall, it's been pretty according.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
To Hoyle so far. Now they're gonna put Sawyer on
the right side Silver.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
Now they'll move over in motion that way on second
and six widside hole field and now it's what's gonna
be blown dead. Ostopo was gonna try to run behind
those two big blockers to the right side. I think
they're gonna have illegal motion against forestals.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Northern back them up. I think the slot I didn't
see which receiver it was. But somebody out there moved
and that prevents from the play. I mean that play
didn't look that at all. Start whist oh and it
gets he gets to save, he gets to take one hit.
They save taking one hit, but that does push him
back second and eleven. But every Now, if you're Jennison, well,
(40:13):
if your coach Lucas, you start thinking about maybe taking
a time out here, and if you're coach Osta player thinking, man,
I might just try to burn as much clock as
I can.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
But you must have their full lot in of three
time outs.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
Now owen Ostible wants to throw, looking right nowhere to
throw in a tucket. A run gets the corner of
the outside with his speed across the thirty five, breaks
out of a tackle and steps out of bounds in
front of the Genison bench of the thirty eight yard line.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
Pick up of eight will set up third and short.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
Stay with us Whost Jepson Physical Therapy halftime show coming
up with Rick Burkey and our crew. Tonight's players have

Jepson physical therapy, restoring body, I mean spirit Rep. Pikita
(41:01):
buck gen Hill live here on this beautiful fall night,
Week two at Husky Stadium, thirdy in short. Come up
from the Huskies, who lead over Jennison seven to three.
By the way, Fahn has won the last two meetings
in this rivalry twenty one to nothing two years ago,
in twenty eight to six last year in favorite the
Huskies at Jennison third and short, Owen Ostapol wants to
come to the one side of the field. Then Wow,
(41:23):
shot out of a can of that time with Scot
him in the linebacker to not only drop him but
for a loss back at the thirty four yard line.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
So now fourth and long and I think Fahn' is
gonna have to punt the football a way. What a
play by Scot him and he just shot the gap
that time as an inside linebacks.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
Yeah, I mean, even if Skyteman doesn't make that terrific
play as coach Lucas does now and I thought he might,
which is called that time out. Boy, there was a
lot of white shirts out there and just not enough
black out there to escort Ostapo to the first down,
and so they do take some time off the clock,
but Jennison's gonna get one wast crackheaded before.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
The By the way, that last touchdown for Forestills Norther
we've only had one on the night, is a touchdown
for kids to benefit Kids Food Basket in West Michigan.
By the way, if you missed it last week with
our game and then Powama Wesphilia and North was kiking
the Lakeshore game, we had thirteen combined touchdowns a week one.
Speaker 2 (42:17):
What a way to start our campaign.
Speaker 1 (42:19):
LMCU donates fifty dollars for every touchdown in our LMCU
games of the week, so six hundred and.
Speaker 2 (42:24):
Fifty dollars raised. Last year's campaign raised sixty four hundred dollars.
And you can make a donation if you want, just
go to Kids Food Basket dot org. That's Kids Food
Basket dot org.
Speaker 1 (42:35):
Are more important if you want to volunteer, maybe you're
a high school team out there looking to volunteer your time.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
They can help you out. Kids Food basket dot org.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
Just look for a local representative serving Muskegan, Allegan, Ottawa
and Kent County's Kids Food Basket. And we're so happy
student athletes helping kids within their own school districts in community.
Sixty two schools strong now and they're doing eleven thousand
meals per day. Just keeps going up the need and
(43:03):
we thank LMCU for being a great partner. Fourth and
six punt team out there, they go the double punter
back their high snap. Lookout, it's over the head. Got
to go back and get it at the eleven yard line.
Here comes Jennison running for his life. Does get it
away and it's gonna be fielded at the twenty.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
Five yard line right along the sideline.
Speaker 1 (43:22):
What an effort by Noah Emmerhein as he couldn't control
the snap, then he fumbled a little bit at all,
kinds of pressure on him break for Jennison. But that's
kind of what Eddie Ostapo was talking about last week,
is special teams, whether it's a snap, being able to
get it off and now great field position with not
much time left in the first half for Jennison as
(43:44):
they'll take over first down and ten and let's see
where they spot this thing buck with two thirty seven
left to go, and keep in mind they've got two
time outsre Remadia. I think they're gonna put it at
the twenty five of FHN.
Speaker 3 (43:56):
I didn't see who on the Gennison sideline caught the
ball man that could have That could have been bad too.
Speaker 2 (44:03):
I mean it was Luke Vandergraft.
Speaker 3 (44:05):
Yeah, I mean if get away, yeah, exactly, it was
gonna go out about I was.
Speaker 2 (44:10):
Thinking did away.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
I mean, it's a great field position one way or
the other. But yeah, that's a tough one. And there
was a husky right there.
Speaker 1 (44:16):
We dropped him, scot him in now handoff going wide
the left side. He turns a corner somewhat inside the twenty.
Got more than I thought scooting his way down with
his speed to the seventeen yard line. That's gonna be
a gain of eight. Wow by scott him in second
and eight. Number twenty has been tough tonight running the
football for Genesion.
Speaker 3 (44:34):
We've seen special teams these first two weeks. Spread the
last week we had Hudsonville at their their adventures on
the punk team, having the one snapped out of the
end zone for the safety. That kind of breathed new
life into Byron Center and got that game to be closer.
But yeah, you just got to execute on those things
and special teams is that phase where if you don't execute,
(44:57):
it always comes back to bite you.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
Welgner has Brady Hubbs in the backfield. He's kind of
their age back to the right. Skide him into the
right as they go for that pistol formation for Felger
on second and short takes this snap handoff Scutaman. Why
not over the left side. Bull in a China shop
and he's got the first down. They'll stop the clock
of the fifteen gain of three needed two so to
(45:21):
be first in ten from the fifteen for Jennison trying
to take advantage of a bad snap and then a
short punt by the punt team of the Huskies.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
I mean, if your forestl is orther right now, I
think if you can somehow get another stop like you
did before, that's that's a win.
Speaker 1 (45:38):
Now they started the clock, you gotta keep an eye
on that. For Jensen, they have two timeouts remaining.
Speaker 3 (45:43):
Well, if your coach Lucaus, you don't want to leave
too much time, correct on the clock. So that's where
the coaching, that's where you are in your big bucks.
There you try to try to score, but just not
as quick as hard. With you starting the twenty five
yard line plus side Hubbs.
Speaker 1 (45:57):
Is the tight end stack to the left short side
of the field, they go trips right to the wide side,
handoff scot him in left side trying to get the corner.
Great job defensively, Silvernail there to stop him, and that's.
Speaker 2 (46:08):
Tough to do behind the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
But big number forty four and talking to coach this week,
he said, guys like leave my Silvernail, Colton Sawyer, Eli McCully,
I mean multi year varsity starters.
Speaker 2 (46:20):
He goes, you just can't put a value on that.
These guys are just tremendous football players. Oh that's a
heck of a play call there.
Speaker 3 (46:25):
They bring Eli Loorie on the corner blitz and that
eats up one of the lead blockers.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
So now you got one lead blocker.
Speaker 3 (46:32):
You had hat on head out there, but then Lowerie
overloads it and a good play there by the Huskies.
Speaker 1 (46:37):
Now they want to go option right, pitch it out,
scote him and trying to turn the corner inside the fifteen,
up ended good tackle that time, drop him at the
eleven and guess who. Cage Bush just continues to be
a defensive stopping for the Huskies, and that's going to
force Jennison to burn one of their two remaining timeouts
with one thirteen left to go in the half, So
(46:57):
it's gonna be short of the first down, third and
six coming up for the Wildcats. We'll keep it right
here again. Hulst Jepson Physical Therapy halftime show coming up
with Rick and the crew. Got a great one here
in a week two as we thought, and really kind
of a pressure cooker game before both teams start their
Okay Division play.
Speaker 2 (47:18):
Seven to three for still is Norther over Jennison.
Speaker 1 (47:21):
But the Wildcats with an opportunity late here in the
first half to take the lead or if they could
even tack on a field goal make it seven six.
Speaker 3 (47:27):
Well, it's third down and seven now, and with the
good leg that Chatfield has, you don't need to really
play conservatively. So if i'm forest still as Northern here,
I'm watching it out for the same thing they tried
the last time, which was getting into the end zone
probably via the pass. So you've got to be really
(47:49):
attentive here if you're the defensive backs, because they're gonna
be okay with not having that play completely because they
think they've got three in the bag with Chatfield, and
that's probably true. So this is a big play for
Northern defense. Can't let Feldner's just step back there and
pick apart the defense. They're gonna have to find a
way to get some pressure.
Speaker 1 (48:05):
Third and six from the eleven of Fahn for the
right hasse got him a stack to the left. Felgner
rolling left, want to throw back across the body completely
touchdown founder Man Luke Vandergraft the six to two junior.
As everyone went wide, he kind of crept back towards
the middle of the field and a good throw by Felgner,
squared his shoulders and fired a bullet. Great catch by
(48:26):
vander Graft and Jennison takes the lead again nine to
seven with one ow eight left to go in the
first half.
Speaker 2 (48:32):
Extra point up coming.
Speaker 3 (48:34):
Well, and they get fell and they're rolling to the
left and one of the defensive backs just kind of
loses his way, sneaking in behind. There was Vandergraff and
that's a really nice throw there. By resolutely throwing across
the body a little bit there on the move, that's
a really nice throw there. And yes, Vandergraft was open,
(48:54):
but that's that took some skill there from Feldner.
Speaker 1 (48:57):
Out of the hold of Mores trying to tack on
the extra point and it's blocked up front. Great job
by Forestill's Northern. I think I was big McCully, Eli
McCully on the block and that's tough to do against
a good kicker in chatfield, but he just didn't get
up in time.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
Great penetration, so it remains a two point game, one
O eight left to go.
Speaker 1 (49:18):
First half heard Husky Stadium are score now reads Jennison nine,
Forestills Northern seven, and you're listening to it live the
LMCU High School Football Game of the Week every Friday
night here on ninety six to one.
Speaker 2 (49:29):
The game back here Husky Stadium.
Speaker 1 (49:37):
On the kick returners, they angled away from the ever
dangerous Jason Scruggs. It was taken by Dylan Furlow on
the right sideline, came back to the middle field and
his neck got turned around a little bit, so face
mask penally as the flags came out. We could all
see that one at about the seventeen or eighteen yard line.
Speaker 2 (49:54):
I think I saw a shooth going there too.
Speaker 1 (49:57):
I mean they were throwing everything they had well after
that last return. They weren't gonna kick it deep to scrug,
so Furlough picks it up, they're gonna tack on as
he was dropped short of the twenty fifteen yards here.
Speaker 2 (50:07):
For the face mask.
Speaker 3 (50:09):
Yeah, I thought maybe Purulo could have let it get
out of bounds y head in that way, but there
was good coverage by the Jennison kick team and thought discustiond.
Speaker 2 (50:17):
Be the better part of valley.
Speaker 3 (50:18):
He's like, I just probably should take the ball and
a run instead of letting them have it again. But
he walks out a little bit, gets the face mass
that pushes him out fifteen yards.
Speaker 1 (50:27):
And I don't discredit him for doing that because chack
Field is a good kicker. Yeah, I mean he can
kind of place it where he wants. You saw it
there was high and short, so probably wasn't gonna roll
maybe out of bounds. Yeah, it was gonna be tight.
It was gonna be tight either way.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
And that's a live ball right on the kickoffs. That's
what I mean.
Speaker 3 (50:43):
I think Dylan said, I'm just gonna grab it in
two I can get that's a really good kick by
Chatfield and you can see like you mentioned there, Brad,
I mean, he can really place that football where he wants.
Speaker 1 (50:54):
So they say he was down at the sixteen tack
on fifteen with a personal foul face mask its first
in ten FHN now down nine to seven. They worked
from their own thirty one one h two left to go.
They got all three time outs though two wide receives
the right, one to the left, Sawyer in the backfield
they want to throw on first and ten Ostopol across
the middle. There was contact and no call wow throwing
(51:15):
it for furlough. I thought that the defensive back got
in there a tad early and on the stop knocking
away was Vanderkraft.
Speaker 3 (51:23):
But I thought there was contact there at the midfield
striking well. The bang judge can only see a seventeen ran.
Dylan throws a big kid, so all he's us is
a big white jersey seventeen kind of reach over the top.
He might not see the contact and then the wing
official there he's running up the field.
Speaker 1 (51:38):
Maybe he doesn't see that either. I think Jahnson go
away with it unless they thought it was bang bang.
But I thought the contact was a.
Speaker 3 (51:45):
Little ahead of I mean really, the only thing they
could have thought there was furlough ran into the defensive
back more than the other side.
Speaker 2 (51:51):
But anyway, it's second down, going with the.
Speaker 1 (51:53):
Post pattern there on first and ten Ostapo no on
second and ten hand off, Sawyer big hole over the
left side, Sawyer stiff farming. Then already would be Tackler
out across the forty three to the forty four yard line,
hanging on for dear life. That time was Cole Bassler,
the senior defensive back. First in ten huskies and quickly
up fa ten over the football clock continues to wind.
(52:14):
Don't want to burn a time out here. First down
in ten, handoff Ostipo left side, buying decrease and out
to the forty nine before he's pushed back.
Speaker 2 (52:21):
While they give him favorable spot to the midfield stripe.
Speaker 1 (52:24):
And now Eddie Ostipoe, his father, going to take a
time out, stops the clock with forty two seconds left.
Speaker 2 (52:30):
I thought he was at the forty nine. They gave
him to the fifty.
Speaker 3 (52:33):
I don't even know if he saw the fifty, but
they're going to give it to him. And that's an
absolute break there. But that's a good call there. Try
to get what you can to the left side, and
then you've got the timeouts in the bag and you're
not You don't get to take him with you, so
I might as well use them.
Speaker 2 (52:47):
That's what they do there, don't forget to stay with us.
Speaker 1 (52:49):
Tonight's coming up in the Discount Door post game show,
Buccanho'll select our Carrots Appliance Dependable Player of the game.
That players showed dependability that his team could count on
throughout the game the same way the Applian system Garrett's
appliants will show that dependability your family can count on.
Congrats again to that player we name them. Coming up
in the Discount Door post game show. It's all brought
to you by Garrett's Appliance with the Dependable Player.
Speaker 2 (53:12):
Of the game.
Speaker 1 (53:13):
Second down and four from the midfield stripe nine seven
Gennis and over four Stills Northern Huskies. With the football
moving right to left on your radio dial. They've got
a tight end their stack to the right side. That's
silver Nail. Three wide receivers that way, Sawyer in the
backfield to the right of Owen Ostipo out of the
pistol formation, takes a snapper into his right, looking downfield,
looking looking now under pressure and just gonna throw it
(53:35):
away incomplete.
Speaker 2 (53:38):
I tell you what, though, he threw it out of
bounds short of that.
Speaker 1 (53:42):
Yeah, they're gonna throw a penalty fast, I say, say
he threw it short of the first down march, I'm sorry,
short of the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 3 (53:48):
You need if you get outside the tackle box, you
can throw it anywhere you want.
Speaker 2 (53:52):
You just have to get it over the line.
Speaker 1 (53:54):
And the thing was, he was looking right at He's
only about a yard short, but he threw It's a
good call by the official.
Speaker 3 (54:00):
Well, I mean, the bad part of it is it's
a ten yard penalty and it's a loss of doubt,
which you were going to lose the down anyway, but
it actually pushes them back farther than being a spot foul.
And so the rules a little bit different in high school, yep.
And so now that makes it third and long, and
so really what you're looking for here is just don't
(54:22):
turn the ball over it. If I'm Jennison, I'm probably
going to call a time out and make him punt
the football.
Speaker 2 (54:27):
Well, if they if they don't get the clock stop.
Speaker 1 (54:30):
He was under pressure, but just a mistake that time
by Owen and rolling to his right. Now hands off
to Sawyer. They keep it on the ground on third
and long and Sawyer brought down by Sketuman. After a
nice game across the forty five games, some of that
yardage back to the forty seven now fourth down clock winds.
Speaker 3 (54:48):
Well, I'm surprised Coach Lucas did not take it out
one time out. What they're gonna do is they're gonna
let the clock get all the way down to a
couple seconds and then they're just going to run a
play to end the half.
Speaker 1 (54:58):
Do they even have to run a play? I guess
they're gonna try to maybe throw it up. They don't
have to run a play.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
They won't.
Speaker 1 (55:05):
Yeah, I was gonna say, you don't have to run
a play, and the Huskies designed to run it out
just shine the midfield stribe. So both teams head to
the locker room and we got a good one brewing
here in Week two between the OK Red and the
OK Green divisions. After one half of play here at
Husky Stadium. Our score Jennison nine, Forest till Is Northern seven.
Speaker 2 (55:26):
Stay with us.
Speaker 1 (55:27):
The whole Jepson Physical Therapy halftime show is coming up
next with Rick Burke and the crew right here on
ninety six to one the game. All right, Thanks Rick,
and we talked to Eric Stiegel as part of our
LMSCU High School Football Previews show. By the way, if
you're trying to tune in last night, we had technical difficulties,
but it is available in podcasts on that high School
Sports page brought to you by Trinity Health at nine
(55:47):
six one the Game dot com or one oh seven
m us dot com. And that was part of the
strategy for Exequen. Say, listen, they got twenty Division IE
players on there, and he goes, there is no weakness,
So we just do our best going eleven on eleven,
trying to hang out of the football with our offenset.
Seen our offense in a long time, and so we
expected it to be literally a dog fighting that one
seven six is a good one here, same thing.
Speaker 2 (56:07):
Nine to seven.
Speaker 1 (56:08):
Jennison leads were before Stills Northern, both teams getting ready
to warm up to start the second half, and let's
recap that first half scoring and also get your keys
to the contest for the second half.
Speaker 3 (56:18):
Buck Genal, It's been pretty light work so far for
me in the first half. Scoring summaries Jennison during first
blood with a thirty six yard field goal by Chatfield
and one with ten minutes and fifteen seconds to go
in the second quarter, three nothing Wildcats for Shills. Northern
goes right back down the field after a big kick
return three plays, fourteen yards Evan Ostapo with a owhen
(56:38):
I was suppose to me with a three year excuse
me a five yard touchdown, ren I'll get it right
at something point Garrett the Pats seven to three Huskies,
and then Jennison on the benefit of a bad punt
snap and then a not so great punt a tep.
I have a really good job there by amberheind just
to get the snap or get the punt off his foot,
but gave Jennison really good fieldsition. They capitalize and a
(57:02):
third down play eleven year touchdown paths from Felder to Vandergraft.
The pat was blocked, however, and that is where we
stand here at halftime.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
At Husky Stadium.
Speaker 3 (57:12):
Jennison nine, Husky seven, and Jennison is set to receive
the second half kickoff.
Speaker 1 (57:17):
There's your MKD Funeral Homes scoring summary in the first half,
brought to you by MKD Funeral Homes eight locations to
serve you folks. They've been doing this for four generations
now that respective family tradition continues at MKD Funeral Homes.
Find out more on what they have to offer at
MKD Funeral Home dot com. So nine to seven, Jennis
number four still is northern on the road here, Huskies
will kick off to start the second half.
Speaker 2 (57:38):
Moving right to left and radio down. Let's start with
the Wildcats.
Speaker 1 (57:41):
What are you looking at if you're Josh Lucas for
keys to this second half?
Speaker 2 (57:45):
Point as well.
Speaker 3 (57:45):
As you played defensively in that first half and really
the beneficiary of some pretty good field position, one big
run and a not so great punt got you the
nine points pretty much, you kind of feel like you
left something on the table there. I think if you're Jenison,
you want to put a long drive together and if
you can do that, take some time off the clock
(58:07):
and get a score that really puts the Huskies behind
the eight ball.
Speaker 2 (58:10):
So they they've played okay.
Speaker 3 (58:12):
I mean, it's not bad, but they just haven't been
that good on offense where they've been able to move
the ball all the way down and get a touchdown.
They've had to rely on a couple of breaks. Now
if the Husky is the key for them is just
you got cleve the mistakes. The bad pun snap obviously
cost them six points, but just have to be really
tight in this.
Speaker 2 (58:32):
One because you're not.
Speaker 3 (58:34):
They don't have a lot of depth right now, so
you've just got to make do with what you have.
Speaker 2 (58:37):
Got to tighten it up.
Speaker 1 (58:38):
Sam Garrett on the script kick and it's fueled to
eighteen off a one hop across the twenty twenty five
thirty and out to the thirty three yard line on
the return. That time for Jennison was number twenty three.
That's rolling van Lon the junior five to nine one.
Speaker 2 (58:58):
Sixty. It'll be first in ten.
Speaker 1 (59:01):
They're actually gonna spot his forward procress up to the
thirty five, so a nice return of seventeen. Wildcats go
back on the attack, led by their senior quarterback Parker Felgner,
who has a touchdown pass and this one I had
a touchdown pass and a rushing touchdown. Last week, first
down in ten, they start with trips to the wine
side of the field, left one back to the backfield, scot
him in their leading rusher the fake number twenty Felgner
(59:22):
run behind him, but the problem was he ran right
into the teeth of the Husky defense. They were waiting
for him there at the thirty five for no gain
and on the stop that time defensively was number nine
Eli Woolery, the senior defensive back for Coachetti.
Speaker 2 (59:36):
Oh no, they actually gave him.
Speaker 3 (59:37):
He kind of fell forward there, so they'll give him two.
But that's a really good play there by Eli Woolery.
They faked the skyeman and he's the lead back. He
actually I think blocks the wrong guy.
Speaker 2 (59:47):
I mean Eui Woorry. That's that's him.
Speaker 3 (59:49):
That's that's the guy you block because that's the only
guy that's left. Instead goes up inside, takes to cut
the linebacker off and Eui Woolery is able to make
the tackle and really limit that.
Speaker 2 (59:59):
Play generous gain of two.
Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
There trips left side, they faked a skyamin pop pass
on the slant incomplete good coverage there. Defensively for Forest
Hills Northern on the stop is Joe purchased the junior
defensive back and tender receiver that time was number eleven.
That's Max McKinney. So third down and long now coming
up four, Jennis, I know.
Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
I'm gonna jinks it's been apparently we're just not calling
passitor for in today because I mean, it was a
really nice play by Joe, but thirsty, I agree, and
like you saw earlier in the first half, Jennison kind
of got away with one, so the officials are kind
of letting things be a bit free in the defensive secondary.
Speaker 1 (01:00:37):
So far, third down and eight nine seven the score
Jennison by two. Trying to convert here. Husky would love
to get off the field if they can balance it out.
Two wide receivers each side. They work from the right half,
skidamin offset to the right, the elgner out of the
shotgun formation, thrown over the top and just gonna air
that one out. And that one should have been picked off,
but probably good it wasn't. Because again it's gonna four
(01:01:00):
fourth down. I shouldn't say that because it's not fourth down.
Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
They can still pun it away.
Speaker 1 (01:01:04):
But right there on his hands, cage Bush was John
on the spot again.
Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
Boy.
Speaker 3 (01:01:08):
I mean, that would have been the cherry on the
top of a well played game so far by Cage Bush.
I think you're probably right, though, Brett, because that's kind
of what we call an arm punt, right. You throw
it all the way down there, and you're like, okay, well,
if you intercept it, it's just like a punt. But
you'd probably like the traditional punt here is maybe you
can set up a return because Cage, all his momentum
going exactly towards his own end, wasn't gonna get much
(01:01:30):
of a return, probably, so six and one half does
the other.
Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
Anyway, they're gonna get the ball back.
Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
Chatfield back of his twenty three low snap and handleson
gets it away. Wobbly kid hits at the thirty four,
takes a favorable Husky bounce. Now bounce it sideways and
they're actually gonna get some positive yachtds from where he
would have intercepted it. We don't know what the return
would have been, but they'll say down to the thirty
three yard line. So the Husky defense comes out to
start the second half, gets the stop they're looking for.
(01:01:56):
Not much time taking off of this third quarter ten
to fifty five left to go and the Huskies down
to now go on the attack for the first time
in this second half.
Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
Lid whether junior quarterback number ten o what Ostipo.
Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
The big playing that series Obviously the second down in completion,
Feldener does have the touchdown, but hasn't really had a
lot of completions.
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
He's only got two in the game.
Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
So if you can take advantage of that, which the
Huskies did, they get the ball back and now go
to work and see what they did in the locker.
Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
Room for stills know they're gonna run option left side
and Colton Sawyer, they didn't pitch it out to him
and oing Ostopo that time taking a shot from Skydeman
as he kept himself. Maybe should have pitched it wide
hit a the thirty five for just a game two
second and eight. And here's where they did get number
thirty compared to last week. Involved Colton Sawyer, the running back,
(01:02:46):
was their leading rusher thirteen carries for fifty four yards.
Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
He only had six rushes last week.
Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
Well, like you said, it can't be all number ten, right,
It's got to be spread around. But with all the
receiver injuries, that's really kind have limited them to what
they're able to do outside of Sawyer and owen Ostipo,
So they're gonna have to find somebody to take the
lead on the perimeter.
Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
Furlough in motion, they want to go option with him
pitching out to Furlough fields. It now cuts his back
at nice jup putting his foot in the ground at
the thirty two, but not a lot of places to run,
crosses the thirty five extra effort out to the thirty seven,
so it's still gonna be third and long. We'll call
it a long six coming up for fh and I
like the creativity that time though, as they sent him
(01:03:30):
in motion to get a running start and then pitched
it out with.
Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
The option to Dylan for a long Jennison really good
pursuit out there.
Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
I mean it was not bad blocking for the Huskies.
Speaker 3 (01:03:39):
They had man on man out there, but just good
pursuit from Jennison on the defensive side.
Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
And Furlough did what he could.
Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
That's a really nice two yard gain out there because
he didn't have a lot to work with.
Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
More experience for the Wildcats on the defensive side. With
eight senior starters, four down linemen here, on third and six,
Ostopol across the middle has this man bounces off but
would be tackled the forty five and he's got the
first down and more out to the forty seven yard line. Remember,
with all the injuries, they're using some different wide receivers.
Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
And that was the first catch I believe.
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
Of the nine cam Weinken hauls it in first and
ten Huskies first wide receiver catch for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
Sawyer and silver Arrow each had one.
Speaker 3 (01:04:18):
And now Wineken and Ostipoe really good there in the pocket,
doesn't exit the pocket. It was starting to break down
just a little bit, stands in there, throws a nice
strike Winekin on a good slant cut and that picks
up the first down.
Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
Good catch by the sophomore. First down and ten.
Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
To move the chains, they go option near side Ostapo
running out of real estate. I tell you what number
twenty is all over the field tonight, offense and defense
skide him and hauls him down for a short game
of one. Now skyde him in hobbling as he gets up,
and that would be a big loss for Jennison.
Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
He was their leading rusher by.
Speaker 1 (01:04:51):
The way, fifteen curious for a whopping eighty nine yards
in the first half. Looks like maybe he's scramping up.
He's running off the sideline as.
Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
Either there or maybe he got a rule maybe roll
up on the ankle a little bit when he brought
Ostapo down. Either way, he I mean, he got off
the field with decent speed, so it can't be too much.
You're righty could be grant, but that's a big loss Tennison.
Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
He was flying, showing his speed to get off the
field almost one hundred yards rush of the first half.
He went over one hundred last week in the win
over Kalamazoo's central handoff.
Speaker 2 (01:05:18):
Sawyer big old right side, nice cutback.
Speaker 1 (01:05:21):
Inside and then puts his shoulders down and they can't
wrestle him down. Just lost his footing inside the Jennison
forty all the way down to the thirty four yard line.
Beautiful run that.
Speaker 2 (01:05:32):
Time by the senior number thirty Colton Sawyer.
Speaker 3 (01:05:36):
Well, I mean number twenty leaves and guess what he's
in the middle, and all of a sudden they put
somebody else in there, and well, there's a lot more
room in the middle, and so Sawyer takes advantage and
he makes a nice game into wildcat territory.
Speaker 1 (01:05:49):
Twenty plus on the carry that time by Colton Sawyer
first in ten Huskies and on the move here trying
to regain the lead, trailing nine to seven. Good ball
game here between the Ok Green and the Oak k
Red tonight, two wide receivers left, one to the rights.
Ostapo goes option left, pitches to Sawyer, turns it up
the field, up the sideline inside the thirty fighting for
(01:06:10):
extra yardage. Finally dragged out inside the Husky twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
Five to the twenty two yard line.
Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
Make that of Jennison first down and ten and Colton
Sawyer continues to impress running into football tonight for the Huskies.
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
A little speed option attack for coach Ostapoe in the
second half and is doing a pretty good job.
Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
What it's also doing, Brett.
Speaker 3 (01:06:30):
Not only is it getting them some space to run,
but it's holding that play side linebacker instead of just
him blowing right through. He's got to stay home because
if he blows through the coverage and he tries to
commit early, the running bass got nobody out there. He's
got to stay out there and let the defensive end
take the quarterback. He's got the pitch man. So that's
been able to relieve some of the pressure.
Speaker 1 (01:06:51):
Good one to two punch Hostapo and Sawyer man emotion
furlough from left to right hand off, Sawyer breaks a tackle,
the backfield gets positive yardage inside the twenty Colton down
to the nineteen yard line for a game of three
second and seven as we were under eight minutes left
to go. Third quarter nine to seven Jennison, but the
Huskies now inside the red zone here this third quarter
(01:07:12):
being brought to you by Kids Food Basket are official
nonprofit for the LMCU high school football games of the
week all through the regular season. Every touchdown scored during
our games, LMCU will graciously donate fifty dollars the Kids
Food Basket to Neuris local kids to reach their full potential.
Now looking over to change to play at the line
of scrimmage, slot left one on receiver right.
Speaker 3 (01:07:32):
Yeah, I think we saw in the kicking game this
is probably four down territory. Not sure what Garrett range is,
but I feel like they would probably go for it
on fourth down if they don't get it in this instance.
Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
Second and seven, silvernail stack to the left side, kick
out block their handoff Sawyer.
Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
Ball pop loose but saved.
Speaker 1 (01:07:49):
I think my silvernail or was it furlough furlough behind
him who picked it up and try to advance it
to the eleven and that'll.
Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
Be enough for a first down. So they changed the
rule this year for high school.
Speaker 3 (01:08:04):
Used to be where the ball is fumbled, you couldn't
advance it, but now you can if it's in the
field to play. If it rolls out of bounds, it
goes back to where this you fumbled it from.
Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
He's a play by Dylan Furloyle got the first down.
So the second time the ball's gone backwards and it's
help Northern, then that's on the field.
Speaker 1 (01:08:21):
Needed seven, got eight after the Fumber recovering and advancement.
First down in ten six thirty five and Ticky left
to going to third. Husky's on the move trying to
regain the lead. Two wide receivers out of the white
side of the field, handoff Sawyer, no fake, Ostipoll pulls
it out, calls his own number over the right side.
Not much running room against that Jennison defense. Their defensively,
(01:08:41):
I tell you what, he's played a whale of a
game on both sides too. Two way starter Luke Vanderkraft.
We've called his name a lot tonight for the Giant
Jennison Wildcats.
Speaker 3 (01:08:50):
Yeah, but you're also starting to see some of the
effects here, Brett. Of those guys I'm playing on both
sides of the football now, A couple of hands on
hips down there for the Wildcats. Is the Huskies ground
attack starting to wear a little bit? Starting to see
also Jennison and George Josh Lucas cycle in some players.
But that's one of the downsides of playing some of
(01:09:11):
your better players on both sides is when you play
a physical team like Northern and it starts to take
a toll.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
Banagram's got that touchdown catch fake Sawyer ostible right side
inside the five of the speed penalty flag comes out late.
Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
I think this one's coming back.
Speaker 1 (01:09:25):
They threw it in the area of McCauley, and I
think he is gonna be guilty of a hole there
working on a defender was coming off the edge.
Speaker 3 (01:09:33):
Yeah, to be truthfully, I was not paying attention. I
was watching Ostipode dash off the right side. Yeah, it's
gonna be against Fahn. That's a spot foul. And where
they threw it was in the backfield. So from the
fifteen that's gonna go back ten Oh no, there wasn't
where this from the original spot. Now they changed that also,
(01:09:55):
so it's ten years. It's like the Collegen program. Okay,
ten yards from the line of the old rules.
Speaker 2 (01:10:00):
Yeah, that would have been a tremendous pealaty because it
had been from the spot.
Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
But boy again I didn't watch it closely enough. But
Eli McCully reacting, I mean, what offensive lineman says, Yep,
that was me. I held him. You throw the flag?
No nobody does that. So he's clearly upset about that.
Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
One second and eighteen from the twenty, lookout under pressure
and he's gonna go down for a sack.
Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
Ostapo, guess who.
Speaker 1 (01:10:23):
Brody Skidaman back in there from the backside gets the
sack all the way back to the twenty five yard line.
So now they're looking at third and twenty three for
the Huskies as the clock continues to wind, just five
minutes left here in the third.
Speaker 3 (01:10:37):
Well, that was supposed to be a screen or some
sort of delayed pass because the offensive line we're all upfield.
I mean, they were not setting a pocket there, and
Ostuppo just didn't throw the football. I don't know if
he didn't see the receiver, if the receiver wasn't supposed
to be there, But that play just kind of got
blown up from the get go. And so now it's
(01:10:57):
third and very long. But they've got two plays breadth.
They don't have to get it all right here.
Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
They spotted at the twenty four third and twenty two
Ostapo taking the snapper Loyd to his left and just
gonna tuck it and run. Not much running room. He'll
get positiveat it to the twenty two. They'll call it
a game of two fourth down and long. Now, and
you're in that gray zone, Buck, you know that you
talk about.
Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
Well, they're gonna send out the field goal unit. Now
they have two kickers. Garrett kicks the extra points.
Speaker 2 (01:11:26):
But it's gonna be Garrett out there right now, the
senior Okay, so they're.
Speaker 3 (01:11:29):
Gonna send him out there sometimes. I mean Amberhein is
the kickoff guy.
Speaker 1 (01:11:34):
And Greg Williamson, number twelve is the sophomore holder, and
he's gonna spot his knee down at we'll call it
the twenty nine yard line. It's gonna be a thirty
nine yard attempt from inside the left hash for the
right footed Sam Garrett trying to give forrests on the
lead if he can make it, taking a long time snapple,
(01:11:57):
little high good job getting it down. It's blocked, ball
is loose and Garrett hopped on it. But Jennison coming
up with a big special teams play on the block
of the thirty nine yard field goal attempt, and it
remains a nine to seven game in favor of the Wildcats.
They're gonna get it back with three point thirty fi
five left to going to third.
Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
I think you're playing with house money there, fourth and nineteen, right,
so not really knowing what Garrett's range is. Yeah, he
gets blocked there, but if he misses the Kickbrett, it
goes to the twenty anyway, right because of the rules
in high school. So I mean, getting it blocked, you
really only lose eight yards. So yeah, it doesn't look
that great, probably doesn't feel that great, but in the
(01:12:39):
grand scheme of things, it really is.
Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
It just is like a miss. So that's that's okay.
Speaker 3 (01:12:45):
You just have to get another defensive stop and try
to get the ball back because they took a lot
of time off the clock there.
Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
And partner here we go nine to seven ball game.
Late in the third, late man running on for Jennison.
Now he's gonna run off. Now he's gonna run on,
and they're gonna be a time out.
Speaker 2 (01:13:00):
Jash Lucas says, wait a minute, this doesn't look good.
We're missing alignment up front, so I.
Speaker 1 (01:13:05):
Don't think they were. I don't think they were. Jennison
burns their first timeout. We'll take the time out as well.
Nine to seven, Wildcats by two over four stills Northern
three thirty five left to go into third. You're listening
to a Week two edition of the LNCU High School
Football Game of the Week. Here on ninety six to one.
Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
The game back here at Husky Stadium.
Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
First down and ten after the change of possession, handoff
skyde him in right side. Remember he had eighty nine
yards rushing in that first half, and he finds a
little bit of running across the thirty after the thirty
three yard line. Give him five second and five now,
Jennison after that blocked field goal attempt, going back to work,
(01:13:49):
and they'd love to crank the clock down and get
it to the fourth quarter. Leading by two on the road,
hand off Skyteaman good job of the Huskies defense for
just a short game that time, just across the thirty
five to the thirty six is gonna set up third
and two for the Wildcats on their own thirty six
yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:14:04):
As we roll under two thirty left to go into.
Speaker 3 (01:14:06):
Third, well, you gotta get a stop here if you're Northern,
because you've had a couple of longer drives but just
haven't been able to find pay dirt. And so now
as we get down the clock that starts to become
your enemy instead of your friend. A big stop here
would give them some more time than Jennison trying to
get max and field position but just haven't had the
(01:14:27):
ball very much as half.
Speaker 1 (01:14:28):
They're gonna go four wide receivers, one with a tight
end to the near sign, and all the block for Skytaman,
who gets the first down, great second effort out to
the forty yard line. They had a tight slot to
the right. Then they shifted two more guys over before
the snap. They had mcginney and Vandergraft already over there.
It was all designed to lead block for Skytaman, who
(01:14:49):
picks up the first time, moves the chains first in
ten from their own forty and if you're Josh Lucas
right now, remember for stals Nor there's one of the
last two meetings between these two. They haven't been two
to zero in Wildcat Country since two thousand and seven.
Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
He'd love to milk this thing. Gotta be happy right
now with where they're at.
Speaker 3 (01:15:06):
If you're Jennison right now, obviously tacking out of the lead,
his job one job to just avoid the big mistake.
Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
No turnovers.
Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
Two backs in the backfield this time it's not skyt
him and they go with fourteen. Was on the left
side of Flagla that time with the handoff and not
much running room against that great Husky defense. McCaulay coming
up from the bottom gain him one to the forty one.
Also in there defensively for Forrest Stills Norther was Jack Edwards,
the junior defensive back.
Speaker 2 (01:15:33):
Yeah, harm getting the call and.
Speaker 3 (01:15:36):
Has it toted the rock much tonight, But Skytaman can't
have it every single time, right And like you saw earlier,
he went off with that injury or cramp, So trying
to keep him fresh as much as you can.
Speaker 2 (01:15:49):
If you're coach Josh.
Speaker 1 (01:15:50):
Lucas, vandergraft By himself to the wide side of the
field on second and nine. Now they'll motion a man
over the h back from right to left. Two backs
in the backfield again, handoff skyte him and right to left.
Speaker 2 (01:16:00):
Boy. When he turns that corner, he does it with speed.
Speaker 1 (01:16:03):
He just lowers the boom across the forty five to
the forty six, pick up a five, sets up a
manageable third in four.
Speaker 2 (01:16:10):
Now full the Wildcats.
Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
They might run one more play here, might have to
before the end of the quarter. Hang out to your
hats and the fourth by the way, our wing juicy
fan of the game coming up, Listen for your chance
to be the correct caller. We'll give you the number
to call.
Speaker 3 (01:16:26):
It's like they're not gonna have to Brett, so they're
gonna have a long time to think about what this
play call is gonna be.
Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
We'll have cole Bania taking your phone calls tonight, filling
in for Joe Errence.
Speaker 1 (01:16:36):
And you're right, but you know they're just gonna run
out the clock. Find a few seconds tick away.
Speaker 2 (01:16:41):
And we played three quarters of football here in the
week two in Husky Stadium, after three of barn Burner
here between the OK Red and the OK Green, it's
Jennison nine four still is Northern seven and you're listening
to it live on this Friday night right here on
ninety six to one the game they're down in three
they want to.
Speaker 1 (01:17:01):
Go to the air at a pitch in catch and
making it in Husky territory. That time was more sport.
Jennison a big conversion. And how about Parker Feldner rolling
to his right, finds him just before the defensive back
could jump in front.
Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
That moves to chains first and ten.
Speaker 1 (01:17:19):
I tell you what, Valgar has shown composition and he's
done just enough in that passing game to keep the
Huskies defensive secondary at bay.
Speaker 2 (01:17:30):
First.
Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
In ten, they have it at the FHN forty three
yard line, fresh set of downs, just starting the fourth
quarter here.
Speaker 3 (01:17:37):
Well, now, if you're Northern, as they get into your territory,
now you gotta start to dig in and get that
ball back because it's time is gonna go short.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
You can't let Jennison tack on the score.
Speaker 1 (01:17:47):
Here and now number twenty is gonna get a heavy load.
Brody Skydiman over the right side, over the right end
inside the forty forward progress down to the thirty eight
yard line and that'll be a pickup of five. Second
in five. It's to our wing Doozy fan of the
game right now. Now, if you won last week, it's
(01:18:07):
a new season, you are not eligible, but caller number
five right now to Cole Benee and our crew back
of the studio listening. Six one, six, four, five, four
thirty seven seventy six, you could score a twenty five
dollars gift card joy the best wings in the Midwest
with Wing Doozy. That's caller five right now, we'll announce
the winner coming up our post game six one, six, four, five,
four thirty seven seventy six.
Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
Thanks for listening.
Speaker 1 (01:18:30):
Good luck on this Friday night in football season. Second
down in five, out of the short shotgun handoff scot
him in this time from right to left, little counteraction
over the center to the thirty five yard line before
he's hit and dropped there McCully and on the tackle
four Forest Tills northern short of the first down marker.
I'm gonna say third and a long yard buck Gino
(01:18:51):
coming up.
Speaker 3 (01:18:51):
Yeah, this is probably two play territory for Jennison, as
they're in that gray zone between the forty and the twenty.
Can't really, Punk can't kick a field goal, So two
plays to make two yards here. If you're northern, like
I said, you've got to anchor in because Jennison is
going to be very content to keep this ball on
the ground, run the clock, and to take as much
time as they can, whether they score or not. They
(01:19:13):
are trying to leave northernwards as little time as possible.
Speaker 2 (01:19:16):
Go to the Rapid Radio scoreboard with an update.
Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
After this play, wing back said to the right sign
handoff Scott him and left side got the first down,
pushing the pile, getting some help from his offensive lineman,
and they're gonna say Ford progress to the thirty one.
He needed to get inside to thirty three, and he did.
Kato four moves the chains keeps the clock moving. First
down in ten. Jennison now getting deeper into Husky territory.
Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
So now the score fourteen to seven.
Speaker 1 (01:19:43):
Holand Christian in front of com Stock Parker was fourteen
nothing Maroons at halftime four to ten left to go
in the third quarter. Mentioned the Whaland score as well

Find out more Rapid Radios dot com.
Speaker 1 (01:20:08):
First down and ten Felgner now rolling to his right
design quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
Keepers got the edge, good kickout block.
Speaker 1 (01:20:14):
There is receivers blocking down field, and I think he
danced inside the twenty five. Where do they spot him out?
Oh wow, they're gonna say at the twenty five. I
thought he got maybe down to the twenty four to
twenty three. Yeah, Parker Fagner almost.
Speaker 3 (01:20:31):
I mean like two or three yards short of where
we thought he was from that far side. But one
thing that helps there is it stops the clock because
he goes out of bounds. But the Huskies have got
to find a way here because a field goal still
leaves them in the game. But they've got to find
a way to keep that Jennison out of the end
zone because that'll make it a two score game if
(01:20:52):
they do get.
Speaker 1 (01:20:53):
In McKinney short side wide rights, Vandergraft left handoffs kind
of man breaks the tackle inside the fifteen, inside of
the ten, He's gonna go to the end zone. Brody
skydemn first rushing touchdown for him on the night, and
he takes it to the house from twenty five yards
out to increase that Wildcat lead to fifteen to seven.
Speaker 2 (01:21:14):
Well, what could not happen if you're the Huskies? Does happen?
Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
A great run there by Skyteman gets through the initial
surge there and then keeps his feet Yep, takes a
good hit, but just keeps on moving. A really talented back,
not too tall but just boy, brings a lot of
a lot of weight, just a heavy runner, and keeps
his feet there, keeps the momentum going and carries it
(01:21:38):
into the end zone.
Speaker 1 (01:21:39):
Chatfield to try to tack on the extra point make
this a nine point game, which is big snap is
a good one hold his downkick.
Speaker 2 (01:21:47):
Is on the way, plenty of leg and good right
through the uprights for Chatfield, and that makes it a
two score game with eight point fifty six left to
go here at Husky Stadium.
Speaker 1 (01:22:01):
So after the touchdown by the Wildcats are score now
reads Jennison sixteen Forestills Northern seven will come back with more.
As you're listening to the LMCU High School football game
of the week live here on ninety six to one
the game.
Speaker 2 (01:22:19):
Sixteen seven.
Speaker 1 (01:22:20):
Now, Jennison leads by nine over for stills Northern as
Cohen Chatfield set to kick it away. He approaches on
the kickoff short end over end kick that's a free football,
hits inside the twenty five, finally picked up and he
realized a wave of white was coming on and just
went down there around the twenty yard line. I believe
that was furlough. It was on the recovery.
Speaker 3 (01:22:43):
Well, that's the Chatfield has done a really good job
of that point kick, and yeah, your choices to either
a come up and field it on the hop or
b hope it gets out of bounds. But good coverage
there and that side of the coverage knows that's what
he's trying to do, so they just hustle on down there.
But he can't overload that side if Northern got to
(01:23:04):
play it straight up and put some not so great
field position.
Speaker 1 (01:23:07):
So on Ostapo in this offense have some work to do.
First down and ten faking it to Sawyer wanted to
swing it out left and then had to tuck it
because of the pressure and run right out of bounds.
Nice job by Ostamo just to get what he could,
which was four yards out to the twenty four second
and six.
Speaker 3 (01:23:24):
He was looking for the quick one to the left,
and he looked and there was two guys wearing the
wrong colored jersey jumped up in the air. So he
knew that one wasn't gonna happen and made a quick
decision to bail out and get like, like you said,
what he could.
Speaker 2 (01:23:37):
He actually picks up five. Yeah, they spotted him with
Ford progress to the twenty five. Oh not bad for
a play that didn't go nearly as planned.
Speaker 1 (01:23:45):
Sawyer to his right, takes the snap, wants to throw
in the pocket, got time, sets his feet, fires, got
Furlough completed the thirty seven, turns it up field cross
the forty nice gater out to the forty five pickup
of twenty one through the air. Ostipoe, Dylan, Furlough and
Fhn on the move now again, plenty of time here.
It's a nine point game. But you gotta get some
(01:24:07):
points on this drive though, But Gino.
Speaker 2 (01:24:09):
Yeah you do.
Speaker 3 (01:24:10):
And then you've got to also stop the other team right,
which has been a little bit difficult for them in
this half.
Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
But a nice throw there by Ostapo.
Speaker 3 (01:24:18):
I think if he just trusts the pocket, if you
can just get a pocket for a little bit, get
a clean one there. Throws the strike to Furlough, finds
the sawt spot on the zone and picks up twenty.
Speaker 1 (01:24:27):
He's got a veteran, big offensive line in front of him,
and give credit to Jennison's defense. Now Ostipo gonna tuck
it in run. He's got a first down dancing up
the near sign line right in front of the Husky bench,
and not before he's run out of bounds, but in
wildcat territory at the forty for Steels Northern coaching staff
along with coach.
Speaker 2 (01:24:46):
Oh, what a late hit.
Speaker 1 (01:24:48):
They thought he was shoved as he went out of bounds,
and I think they're looking the way of Mason McKinney,
number zero, the linebacker out there. But no call all
first and ten. Nice job by Ostapo. Eighth six clock
stops because he went out of bounds. Left to go
in this ball game. Don't forget to stay with us
for the discount door post game show immediately following our
(01:25:11):
game tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:25:11):
Now, movement to the slot was Furlough. Furlough and then.
Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
One of the defensive players also moved, but he did
not cross into the neutral zone.
Speaker 1 (01:25:20):
Remember, they've got some injuries, some different faces in there
at the wide receiving crew, so they'll move him back
five to the forty five first and fifteen furlough a
senior right, Yeah, he hits one of those where Yeah,
not to.
Speaker 3 (01:25:35):
Pick im at all, but he and he knows he's
one of the ulf He's.
Speaker 2 (01:25:39):
Like, yeah, we can't. We can't have that one there.
Speaker 3 (01:25:41):
And that's a tough one becauseay man, this prestat penalty's
killing is first and fifteen now and backs against the
wall already two.
Speaker 2 (01:25:49):
Wide receivers to the left, one to the right.
Speaker 1 (01:25:51):
Ostapo takes a snap for the right, Hasse going up top,
single coverage out there. Great job coming back and helping
his quarterback to make the catch and around the twelve
yard guard line over there for Forest Hills Northern to
make the ground.
Speaker 2 (01:26:04):
Was the junior Dane Briggs set in the third quarter.
We're not calling pass interference today. I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:26:12):
Dane Briggs had to fight through the defender twice not
to get to the ball, and he wasn't even looking
at the defender, was not looking back. But that's a
great job of concentration by Briggs there in a really
nice throw by Owens.
Speaker 1 (01:26:25):
And they gave him a great spot Ford progress to
the ten. Yeah, it's been a little handsy out there,
partner in the secondary. First and goal from the ten.
Eight minutes exactly left to go on this one. Plenty
of football. Ostipol gotta be careful. He was carrying it
out of there, ballpop loose and I think they lost it.
Speaker 2 (01:26:39):
Yeah, he actually did. I think he was trying to
throw the fall or or.
Speaker 1 (01:26:43):
Avoid the defender, kind of carrying the ball over his
helmet and it got hit from the backside. Never saw
it and Jennison comes up with a Thumbray cover. That's
a big turnover at their own twelve yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
Well, they just they had to That's what they had
to avoid there. I mean a turnover there. Yeah, because
time wise, everything was working.
Speaker 3 (01:27:05):
Yeah, I mean they're in their favor quick they could
have got some points either way. Now they got to
find a something in the defense that they haven't had
really in this half other than the first series, which
is trying to get Jennison, try to get a stop
on Jennison. This is only the third possession for Jennison
this half because they took so long on that last
(01:27:27):
scoring drive. And if you're Northern, you gotta make if
you're a defender, you got to try to make a
play here.
Speaker 2 (01:27:32):
You gotta gamble a little bit down two.
Speaker 1 (01:27:33):
Scores Parker Felgner under the pistol formation, one back each way.
You know number twenty is gonna get heavy dose. Scotam
It breaks free into the secondary across the thirty five
trying to strip the from behind, but they won't take
it from the big fellies out to the forty five
yard line. Huge hole that time at a gain of
thirty three by their senior Brody Scottiman.
Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
I think he's cramping up a little bit and deservedly.
Speaker 3 (01:27:56):
Still Plane, we got a we got a player down
for still as Northern, so they're gonna have to stop
it anyway.
Speaker 2 (01:28:02):
I think there's some more cramping going on.
Speaker 3 (01:28:04):
That is number nine Eli Worrie. Either that or he
got rolled up on so he's not a couplets.
Speaker 2 (01:28:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:28:10):
It was seven forty seven left to go, thirty three
yard run by Scytman, well over one hundred yards now
again for the second straight week for number twenty, he's impressive,
but we want our mind you not only to stay
with us for the discount or post game show. Once
we're done here at Husky Stadium, we'll select tonight's Uptown
Cheapskate player the game play back for you. Our J
and H Family stores highlighted the game and more. But
(01:28:31):
then we'll get you all primed and ready to go.
Some interesting scores going on the Skegon in rock Ford,
our Lake Shore game of the week. Big Rids are
up big in that one. How about twenty one nothing
East Kentwood Kid Kaffin three touchdown passes to leave by
Red Center.
Speaker 3 (01:28:44):
Yeah, and we knew Byron Center was going to be
up against it with what we saw last week and
Wagers being a gamer trying to play, but you know,
playing banged up against the team. Lakey's Ketwood man, that's.
Speaker 1 (01:28:57):
And therefore, real, folks, I'm telling you, first down, ten
handoff right side. This time they give skyte him a
little blow and look at him with the rugby push
for extra YadA across the forty five to the forty
seven yard line. On the carry again was Colin Harrima,
and they'll give him a couple second down at eight
after the kind of lignment push if you will to
(01:29:18):
copy the Philadelphia Eagles tush push next week. By the way,
West Cathay and South Christian, can the Sailors survive against
East Grand Rapid. That's why you want to tune around.
Tune in, folks, and stick around for the Meyer Scoreboard show.
Once we're done, Rick Berkley, have all your scores from
around West Michigan and more. You hear from some of
the head coaches on the winning side tonight, love to
get them on the show. All of our live game
(01:29:39):
reporters as well. It's all brought to you my friends
at Meyer and it's coming up. It's a show of
its own after we're done here with a discount to
our postgame show from Forest Hill's Northern Country. Second down
at eight, give this Skuyde Tom and you know he
wants it. Senior wants to ride this one out. Nice
cutback at the forty eight to gain a couple to
the midfield stripe to the fifties.
Speaker 2 (01:29:58):
So thirdy and five cout for the Wildcats. And now
one of the things you have to consider if you're
aready asked to poe, you got three timeouts.
Speaker 1 (01:30:05):
Remaining Jennison with two is when do you start calling timeouts?
Like if they get a first down here, well, being at.
Speaker 3 (01:30:11):
Two scores, you're going to try to conserve as much
time as you can, right, I think probably here if
they get if they get another first down after this,
probably when you start trying to do so.
Speaker 2 (01:30:23):
But if you get a stop.
Speaker 3 (01:30:24):
Here and still still have a little bit of time,
and the way they move the football gives them some hope,
but they're going to be running out of time.
Speaker 2 (01:30:32):
Scott him be set to the right of Feldner here
on third and five. Harram atuas left any doubt on
their keeping on the ground here. For coach Lucas now.
Speaker 3 (01:30:42):
He wants to think about it because like we saw
last week, we all thought that Hudsonville was going to
run the ball on third down and what they did
is throw the game clinching touchdown. So I wouldn't put
it past coach Josh Lucas to get feldoner'er out in
space and probably give a run pass option where Feldner
had to try to get somebody on a man demand
situation and make them make the decision come up to
(01:31:05):
tackle the quarterback or cover the running back and hope
somebody comes it helps.
Speaker 1 (01:31:09):
Congratulations goes out to Sean Pharaoh of Byron Center. He's
tonight's wing doozy fan of the game. I'm gonna score
that twenty five dollars gift card. Sewan knows all about
its wings right there at the Melthrow Health Village not
too far from Byron Center. Also their other location, the
Sports Bar in Hudsonville, but op Chicago Drive. Congratulations Seawan Faraoh,
a week two wing doozy fan of the game. List
(01:31:30):
of your chance to win it next Friday night, and
don't forget The West Michkan High School football page has
everything you want powered by Trinity Health. We've got our
podcast there of our shows, the game broadcast to be
up right after we're done, and more. Check it out
at nine to six to one the Game dot Com,
also Woodradio dot Com.
Speaker 2 (01:31:47):
Third and five Sky turns.
Speaker 1 (01:31:49):
The corner got the first down up the sideline, trying
to stay in bounce, and now he's forced out by
a wholesale of black jerseys from that Huskies defense. We'll
see where they spot him out. The referee went up
to on pilot. I think at the forty fahen is
where they have it. That's about the only thing he
could criticize run Brody Skidamas not being able to stay
(01:32:09):
in bounced, but he got the most important thing, which
is the first down.
Speaker 2 (01:32:12):
Freshet of downs.
Speaker 3 (01:32:13):
I don't think the balls, I don't think he was
supposed to run out to the wide side, but they
brought the house. They ran and they thought he was
going to go to the right. It was the right
defensive call. But Skyband just finds enough of a crease
and was able to bounce it a little bit outside
and the pursuit just was all right at the point
of attack at the edge and he just bounces it
to the numbers and beyond and picks up a critical
(01:32:34):
first down.
Speaker 1 (01:32:35):
So Bucchino last week the ok Green Division at granted
there were some tough games, did not win a game
as a conference. Handoff Skutaman and just hecs his way
forward after running the pile near the line of scrimmage
and somehow picks up five more to the thirty five
he had. Mona Shores losing, Myskegan losing last week Byron Center.
(01:32:56):
Losing Byron Center, looks like they're going to go zero
to two. Four Stills northern looking. At start the season
zero to two, Mona Schores was in a battle with
River Rougemskige and the only one looking yeah good.
Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
Right at the memo, they were like, oh we were
supposed to lose again. Sorry, but how crazy for it? Okay,
Green it was very deep and very balanced just a
year ago. Well, I think Brett that also. I mean
they're not playing pushovers. No, I mean they're playing a
competitive schedule and that goes to show. I mean that's
going to reward them if they're able to get it
together and put some wins on, that's going to help
(01:33:29):
them with the strength of schedule because they're not losing
the bad teams at all.
Speaker 1 (01:33:33):
Handoff, Felgner, the senior quarterback, is doing a nice job
running this offense tonight to skide them and just crashed
his way in from the counteraction from right to left
to the thirty three yard line of the Huskies. So
another third and short coming up for Josh Lucas and company.
As clock continues to wines kind of running out here
in the Huskies for thirty in ticking left to go.
Speaker 3 (01:33:52):
And the thing is with being third and short, I
think you're hoping if you're coach addi Ostopo, you're hoping
for a minimal game on first down, then you can
start using the timeouts. But if they get five of
a crack on the first down of the series, it's
kind of hard to start burning those timeouts when could
just be wasting those timeouts and trying to get some
(01:34:13):
time back.
Speaker 1 (01:34:14):
Tight wide receiver on the edge, Skyeman is gonna run
that way on third and short and pick up another
first down around the right side inside the Husky thirty
to the twenty nine yard line. Give him four more
and Brody skytehim at number twenty for Gennison having a
night got a rushing touchdown from twenty five yards out,
fresh shut of downs first and ten clock contears to
wind rapid radio scoreboard update. Talk about a team that
(01:34:37):
was impressive a year ago in surprise this and guess
what they're doing the same thing again. Unity Christian taking
on Schoolcraft tonight up forty to nineteen at the end
of the third. They put up fifty five last week
against Whitehall.
Speaker 3 (01:34:50):
And I know Schoolcraft is I think Division seven this
year maybe anyway, I mean, I know they're a smaller school,
and why should it surprise us that Craig Tibby, the
finest men in football coaches in West Michigan.
Speaker 2 (01:35:02):
Has his team ready to play.
Speaker 3 (01:35:03):
Why are we surprised, Brett, We've been doing this for
twenty plus years.
Speaker 2 (01:35:06):
Why are we surprised? We don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:35:08):
But it is a surprise because we didn't really know
what they had over there in Hudsonville for Unity Christian.
But boy, Craig Tibby and his staff just year in,
year out just turn out a great program.
Speaker 2 (01:35:20):
They're doing it again.
Speaker 1 (01:35:21):
Skytaman on the ground again into the twenty two give
him eight second and two coming up. Well, you know
what they did have, and he led him to a
state championship, and I'm hoping he does maybe the same
for a Super Bowl championship for the Lions.
Speaker 2 (01:35:34):
Isaac Dislaw.
Speaker 1 (01:35:36):
Great story there out of Unity Christian now playing in
the NFL as a wide receivers a quarterback on that
state championship team.
Speaker 2 (01:35:43):
Won't I remember?
Speaker 3 (01:35:43):
I mean I remember, as we'll get ready for the
next play here, I won't bore everybody with.
Speaker 1 (01:35:49):
Our slot to the left, Skytaman gonna run short side right,
And you're right, he's just kind of seeing what he
has after he hits the handoff, maybe not necessarily where
it's designed, but you're not gonna argue with him because
he's picking.
Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
Up first downs down to the fifteen.
Speaker 1 (01:36:02):
Give him seven more first in ten, Jennison, And what
a great job of draining this clock and doing it
with your big Oakley's up front and your star running
back at Brody' skidaman.
Speaker 2 (01:36:13):
Yeah. I mean, hats off to coach Josh Lucas.
Speaker 3 (01:36:16):
It looks like they are going to walk away with
the victory here the first time in three years against
Forest Hill's Northern and Northern get a fall to zero
to two going back to the drawing board, and if
your coach Haddie Astapo, it's got to be really frustrating
because I don't think they played that badly tonight. They
had two mistakes and those two mistakes are worth probably
at least ten points. He loved the reffort to the
(01:36:37):
way they played last week too.
Speaker 1 (01:36:38):
They were right in that game, loose by three to
a very good Kenway Hills Club handoff. Skyteman right side,
bulldozing his way down to about the ten yard line
before they blow it dead. Clock continues to wind, discount
Door postgame show coming up, brought to you by our
friends at Discount Door, family owned and locally operated business

by calling them six one, six, three, sixty three, fifty
six ninety two and now Eddie O four for Stills
Northern taking a time out Stops with two minutes exactly
left to go Myers scoreboard show once we're done here
and Buck, do you know how about this? Josh Lucas
(01:37:25):
in our game notes for the prep this week, talking
about if they could pull off the winning knew it
was gonna be tough. They'd have to match the physicality
set of Forestills Northern. Very impressed with them and guys
like Eli McCauley up front. So if we can do
that and pull off the win, he goes Brett first time.
Two and zero for Jennison since two thousand and seven.
Speaker 3 (01:37:44):
Buck, j you know we mentioned in the pregame, but
it's been a long time since Jennison has had continued
and sustained success like I said, the days of Kyle
nodder Well behind us and uh boy, Josh Lucas doing
a heck of a job in his second here here
at Jennison.
Speaker 2 (01:38:04):
Second and five, give to twenty. He wants the end zone.
Speaker 1 (01:38:06):
He can smell it inside the seven down, inside the
five to the four yard line and he's got another
first down. It's been Brody's Skydaman on this try for Cennison.
And how about that offensive line. It replaced all five
offensive linemen from a year ago, that great senior class
for coach Lucas. This guy's doing a nice job establishing
(01:38:28):
it again led by the sophomore.
Speaker 2 (01:38:30):
They really like it. Nick Potter six three two fifty five.
Speaker 3 (01:38:34):
Yeah, I mean, we're gonna find out what they are
built for at Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:38:38):
Red play for sure, but impressive so far.
Speaker 3 (01:38:41):
Keeping Kelazu Center another Division one team that they've played
in Northern.
Speaker 2 (01:38:45):
Here Division two. So competitive football.
Speaker 3 (01:38:49):
But they'll get into the thicket things for conference places
starting next week.
Speaker 1 (01:38:53):
First to go from the four Felger hand off, Brody
skydam In pushing for the goal line, trying to get
some help, but they're gonna say us shorts inside the
one second and goal coming up. You know I mentioned
Wing Doosey, one of our proud sponsors with a Wingjsey,
fan of the game name the best chicken wings in
West Michigan multiple years and all those fries so good
as well. Order online, dine in you can take out
(01:39:15):

They have a catering menu. Two it's Wingdoosey dot com.
Two locations metro Philla, john for Byron Center Avenue in Wyoming,
just off Chicago Drive in Hudsonville, by Gemmens time out.
Speaker 2 (01:39:30):
Of the field.
Speaker 1 (01:39:30):
We're gonna keep it right here. Just one to eleven
left to go in regulation. Myer Scoreboard show coming up.
Discount or postgame show coming up, sixteen to seven. Jennison
second and goal from inside the one for the Wildcats.
Trying to get the exclamation point here. And but Gino,
I don't know about you, but I'll be sticking around
trying to follow some of those scores in the Myor
(01:39:51):
Scoreboard show to set up what'll be an interesting Week
three for us because West Catholic taking on Coopersville tonight. Now,
Coop got to hand it to him a little bit
against Ludington, a very good Orioles Club.
Speaker 2 (01:40:02):
In week one.
Speaker 3 (01:40:02):
Yeah, I mean coach Gunsel up there and his son
who committed to Farris State recently.
Speaker 2 (01:40:06):
Man, I mean they don't.
Speaker 3 (01:40:08):
Get a lot of love because they're way up there
and they play in that West Michigan Lakes Conference in
Lakes Conference. But man, they're a really good club. And
I know Coopersville struggled.
Speaker 2 (01:40:21):
Handoff Scott him been trying to go. Why touchdown number
twenty is second?
Speaker 1 (01:40:25):
Then takes it in from a yard out and there's
your kaffer with one oh five left to go on
this one, twenty two to seven. Jennis, an extra point
of coming in to your point about Cam Gunsel. Thirty
four carries in a forty to thirteen win last week
at Coopersville, two hundred and forty.
Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
Six yards, five touchdowns rushing. Oh and then he threw
the ball.
Speaker 1 (01:40:48):
Buck he can do that to eight of eleven for
one hundred and sixteen yards at a touchdown. And here's
the scary thing. He's going to Farris State to plate
for Tony and East. Everyone said, including that came in
the Coopersville coach. He told me he's a better safety
than he is a quarterback. And that's what he's gonna
play in college.
Speaker 3 (01:41:04):
True, I mean he can really bring the hammer. He
can get downhill in a hurry and put a looking
on you.
Speaker 1 (01:41:10):
And obviously with that speed, extra point up. Good by Chatfield.
Keep an eye on Luddington in the West Michigan Conference
Lake's Division, which is the bigger of the two with
the Rivers with its smaller schools. So stop it on
the field. We'll take it as well. One O five
left to go on this one, twenty three seven. Now
Jennison over for Stills Northern. We'll come back with more
at Husky Stadium after this. On ninety six to one
(01:41:33):
the game mcgern Husky Stadium, brem mcche along with Buck
Gino Cohen Chatfield that time just kicked it right into
the dead zone in the middle of that kick return
team finally coming up to field. It was scrugs, but
tried to reverse this field nowhere to go and he's
(01:41:54):
dropped after he feels it at the twenty the twenty
two yard line and now there's an injured wildcat down
on the.
Speaker 2 (01:41:59):
Kick GoF team again. Cramp's starting to develop here.
Speaker 1 (01:42:03):
Even though it's a cool night in the air, and
I think the shaking up due to a cramp player
was Colin Harrama. Again, these guys that are playing both
ways too right, get out there, don't get a chance
to get the liquids in their body as often as
guys playing on one side of the football.
Speaker 3 (01:42:20):
And you're right, I mean the guys that are playing
multiple positions both sides of the ball, they don't get
a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:42:27):
Of time to feel up.
Speaker 3 (01:42:28):
I mean, you can drink as much water and gator
age wat during the week, but right so they'll drink
it during the game. And when you don't come off
the field that much, you don't get a lot of
chances to do so. So that's usually the guys that
you see cramping up. And we got we gonna have
a time out here.
Speaker 2 (01:42:44):
Coach Lucas well, I think both sides trying to get
some we got Yeah, look, there's no extra players in there. Yeah,
they're trying to get some other guys in the game.
Speaker 3 (01:42:52):
And there was like ten nine and a half guys
on defense. They didn't really know who was supposed to
be out there. So coach Lucas says, you know, let's
just call time out.
Speaker 1 (01:43:03):
We'll regroup here, We'll keep it right here, fifty nine
seconds left to go into regulation twenty three seven. Jennison
leading on the road over Forestills Northern Wildcats, trying to
prove to two and zero. We mentioned coming up on
our discount door postgame show, we'll hand out some awards.
One of those buck we'll select our Uptown Cheapskate Player
of the game. It's brought to you by Uptown Cheapskate
with locations in Granville and Kentwood to serve you Uptown Cheapskate.
(01:43:26):
They buy what you loved yesterday, sell what you want today,

you can be coming uptown inside. It's easy to get
monthly deals at uptown Cheapskate dot com.
Speaker 2 (01:43:36):
Gee, who could it be tonight? The guy that has
multiple touchdowns, Well.
Speaker 1 (01:43:41):
He's got a close location at Granville There ekin check out,
do some shopping at us with that twenty five dollars
gift card. Handoff on first down and ten new quarterback
in there is Cage Bush the sophomore, and handoff goes
to Forest Hills northerns Parker Accardo, junior running back. He's
across the thirty and a nice run out to the
(01:44:03):
thirty three yard line for a first down, give McGain
of eleven first and ten thirty six seconds left to
go on this one, and now some movement up front.
Speaker 3 (01:44:13):
Now that'll happen when you get the guy the reserves in.
Speaker 2 (01:44:19):
It's been that kind of night for Norther.
Speaker 3 (01:44:20):
And like I said, Brett, I mean they really, outside
of the punt snap over the head and then the fumble,
have played a relatively solid game.
Speaker 2 (01:44:30):
But Jennison very impressive.
Speaker 3 (01:44:32):
Two scoring drives this half, bread over six minutes of
play and both of them in double digits for plays too.
And that's really kind of the key that we'll hit
on here in the postgame.
Speaker 1 (01:44:42):
Well, we talked about Josh Lucas and the job he
did is on first down and ten, after the penalty
marked off, they keep it on the ground and again
it's a cardo across the thirty five and out to
the thirty eight yard line. So second and five come
up for Fahen and they're just gonna let it run
(01:45:03):
out of there.
Speaker 2 (01:45:04):
It is final seconds tick away.
Speaker 1 (01:45:05):
So the Gennison Wildcats, we mentioned Josh Lucas, the big
shocker knocking off Rockford last year, almost getting to the
playoffs at four and five. JS been down for so
many years, and you mentioned Kyle not I think that's
the last time they made the playoffs. And so Josh
now has the Wildcats at two and zero for the
first time since two thousand and seven. Here in twenty
twenty five with an impressive win on the road, stopping
(01:45:28):
the winning streak in this rivalry of Forest Hills Northern
as the Wildcats win it tonight by a final of
twenty three to seven.
Speaker 2 (01:45:36):
We've got a lot more coming.
Speaker 1 (01:45:38):
Your way, So if you're heading out to the car,
whatever the case might be, discount or post game show
with Buck and Eye, then we'll kick it live back
to the studio in downtown Grand Rapids.
Speaker 2 (01:45:47):
Rick Burkey will take over the live game.
Speaker 1 (01:45:49):
Reporters and more all the scores across West Michigan all
finals as we get them. You'll hear from Maria, coaches
and more with a meer scoreboard show. So stay with
us on your home for West Michigan High School foot
This is ninety six to one the.
Speaker 4 (01:46:02):
Game back in the studio in the ninety six won
the game. Rick Berkey here with a quick update. We
got ready ready for the Meyer High School Scoreboard Show.
We can tell you said a lot of dramatic finishes
going on out there. West Ottawa just kicked a field
goal from thirty one yards out with just forty eight
seconds left in the game to take a twenty four
to twenty two lead over Zealand. West Zealand West trying
to pull out maculus finish and a great ball game
(01:46:24):
out in the Motor City as East Detroit cast Tech
is tied with Granville in the fourth quarter, tied. Cast
Tech just scored.
Speaker 2 (01:46:33):
To tie it up.
Speaker 4 (01:46:33):
They've been back and forth in that one all night long.
So again we've got all the scores, we got live reports,
coming interviews with some coaches lined up as well, So

school sports with all the schools across the West Michigan area.
As once again we welcome you back to Husky Stadium

Speaker 2 (01:47:01):
Twenty three to seven.
Speaker 1 (01:47:01):
In the final, Jennison gets it done on the road
over Forest Hills Northern, ending the winning streak by the
Huskies of three straight in this rivalry series, and more importantly,
Jennison two to zero for the first time since two
thousand and seven. Let's recap the scoring, and this one
it's brought to you by MKD Funderholmes and with all
the honors, I'll turn it over to my partner Buck Gino.
Speaker 2 (01:47:21):
Well, the scoring summary.
Speaker 3 (01:47:22):
In the second half, we went into the locker room
Jenison up nine to seven and a tight affair, and
well they did it.
Speaker 2 (01:47:29):
Really they did me a favor.
Speaker 3 (01:47:30):
They only scored in the even quarters, so I don't
have to do that much. And in the second half
it was two Jennison very long scoring drives for the
Wildcats and that was really the capper for tonight was
Forest Hills more than just could not get out the
field enough times. They were able to do that in
the first half, but in the second half Jennison with
(01:47:54):
Skyteman just were not able or they were not able
to get those guys off the field. The first scoring
drive of the second half for Jennison eleven plays, six
minutes and thirty nine seconds over seventy two yards, Sktamen
capping it off with a twenty five yard touchdown run
and then late in the fourth quarter the dagger for
the Wildcats, finishing off a thirteen play drive six minutes
(01:48:18):
and fifty two seconds, eighty eight yards of real estate
and Skytamin with the second touchdown of the half, and
the game Chatfield adding the point after touchdown again and
that makes our final score Jennison twenty three and Forest
Hills Northern seven.
Speaker 2 (01:48:33):
Yeah, that was nine to seven.
Speaker 1 (01:48:34):
As we talked about Jennison by two, clinging to that
lead after three quarters of play, we're like, here we
go a barm burner. But then boy Jennison really answered
in that fourth quarter coming up with the two scores
and the exclamation point. That's why you want to That's
how you want to finish the game, I should say,
especially when down the road. Congratulations to Josh Lucas and
the Wildcats. That final scoring summary brought to you by

We'll start fuck with our uptown chiefskate Player of the Game,
and I think we got some individual statistics for him
as well.
Speaker 2 (01:51:17):
I'm guessing you're leaning towards number twenty in White. Well,
it was a little not as tight of a race
as last week.
Speaker 3 (01:51:25):
We'll just put it that way, okay, Uh yeah, I
mean number twenty mister Skideman had thirty five rushes, two
hundred and twenty nine yards and two touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (01:51:33):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:51:34):
That'll probably be good enough most nights for the cheap
uptown chiefskate player offensive player of the Game, and that
is exactly what he was tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:51:41):
So congratulations to him.
Speaker 3 (01:51:43):
Just an impressive night, and he should probably go out
and get the offensive lines and stakes or burgers or
whatever they like, because they did a heck of a
job up there too. I mean he yeah, he did
improvise a little bit, but he had some pretty big
running lanes, especially early in the game, and just a
really good job for Jennison upfront. And that's I think
a testament to the coaching because they replaced pretty much
(01:52:06):
their entire offensive line from last year, and that was
the big question mark for coach Josh Lucas and his
staff was how was this new offensive line gonna look?
Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
Well, Tonight looked pretty darn good and last week they
did too.
Speaker 3 (01:52:16):
So congratulations to Jennison's mister Skidwin thirty five thirty five
rushes for two hundred and twenty nine yards in two
touchdowns or Uptown Cheapskate Offensive Player of the Game.
Speaker 1 (01:52:26):
You'll get a twenty five dollars gift god to do
some shopping at Uptown Cheapskate either the Granville or camp
with location all six foot one, two hundred and ten
pounds from senior number twenty Brody Skettema schediment.
Speaker 2 (01:52:37):
Excuse me.
Speaker 1 (01:52:37):
Tonight's Uptown Cheapskate Offensive Player of the Game brought to
you by Uptown Cheapskate. Become an insider and get monthly deals.
Just go to Uptown Cheapskate dot com. Well, Tonight's Montel
Construction Defensive Player of the Game brought to you by
my home team, Montel Construction. Think about them for your
next sixter year project for your home or cottage. Montel
Construction dot Com. I'm gonna go on the other side.
I was impressed tonight a heavy hitter, came down, made
(01:52:59):
some nice plays to defensively, also worked in a little
bit there on offense and special teams. But number six,
the sophomore Cage Bush, he's got a bright future for
Eddie Astapo and the Huskies. He's Tonight's Montel Construction defensive
player of the game, and that leads us to our
Garrett's dependable player of the game and Buck, I like
what you said here. We talked about this kind of
(01:53:20):
during the break doesn't so often go in the way
of a special teams player, even a kicker. But we're
gonna go with number four tonight, that junior Cohen chatfield
kicker and punter for Jennison, and he was a factor
on special teams tonight also had that field goal.
Speaker 3 (01:53:34):
Yeah, and he did a really nice job of suffocating
the Forest Hills Northern kick return team and they had
that big return that set up their only score of
the night with scrugs and after that he was just
content with placing the ball inside the numbers on one
side or the other and then really letting that coverage
team go to work. So not only was Forest Hills
(01:53:56):
Northern in for it because they were having a tough
time getting off the field, but then on the kickoffs
they weren't getting much traction either because of the excellent
kicking by Chatfield. He only had the one extra point
miss and that was a block, so we really can't
put that on him because that's not really his fault there,
and so a really nice job by Chatfield and coach
Lucas mentioned him and his kicking in this week's notes,
(01:54:19):
and boy he was there to deliver it tonight. So
very dependable and you can count on him and jam
and Chatfield the Garrett's dependable Garretts appliants, dependable player of
the game.
Speaker 2 (01:54:30):
Good news for Jennison fans. Only a junior as well.
Speaker 1 (01:54:33):
And just like the appliance is at Garrett's Appliance, he
had that dependability. They showed for his team tonight. Thirty
six yard field goal, great job of the punting game,
a great job and the kickoffs kind of kicking it
where they weren't. It's brought to you by our friends
at Garrett's Appliance. Well, that leads us to the J
and H's Family Stores highlight of the game, and we
got to go back to the Wildcats again and number
(01:54:53):
twenty just impress it, but this one really kind of
swung things completely in favor of Jennison to try to
get win number two on the season. Tonight, McKinney short side,
wine rights, Vandergraft left handoff, skydeam.
Speaker 2 (01:55:06):
In breaks a tackle inside the fifteen, inside the.
Speaker 1 (01:55:08):
Ten, He's gonna go to the end zone. Brody Skydeman
first rushing touchdown for him on the night, and he
takes it to the house from twenty five yards out
to increase that Wildcat lead to fifteen to seven. There's
a JNH Family Stores highlight of the game, the twenty
five yard touchdown run by Brody Skyteaiman, the senior running
(01:55:29):
back for Jennison. Brought to you by J and H's
Family Stores. Stop there on your way home tonight, sixty
plus locations across Michigan to serve you JDH Family Stores.

and his Knights. Now they get a true castle and
as they have the football field, they finally are gonna

(01:57:35):
seven m us the Moose with Jason and Tom and
we'll be at the Home of the Sailor of South
Christian at East Kentwood High School for West Catholic at
South Christian. So interesting to see how those teams did tonight,
South Christian winning a week one of a Grandfit's Christian
be taking on a good East Grand Rapids club, West
Catholic losing to Northfield in Week one. Could they bounce
back with it win against Coopersville tonight. Stay tuned for
(01:57:57):
the scores and more coming up with the Myers scoreboard show. Well,
we got to thank your host Athletic directory at Force
is nother Ben Sherman and his crew always do a
great job, both head coach as well Josh Lucas and
Eddie Ostable with some great information to help us with
our broadcast tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:58:09):
Yeah, I'm really I.
Speaker 3 (01:58:10):
Think both teams, you know, acquitted themselves just about how
we thought they would. Jennison very impressive tonight, and I
think coach Eddie, oh, you know, I think he's got
a lot of things that he can work with. They're
not that far away, but just the injuries and things
pile up, they've got a real thin margin.
Speaker 2 (01:58:27):
And he'll tell you the same thing. They got to
clean things up.
Speaker 3 (01:58:29):
But the ok Green, we thought this was gonna be
a really tight conference.
Speaker 2 (01:58:33):
It still can be.
Speaker 3 (01:58:35):
It just may not be the way we thought it
would when we thought when we were doing our season preview.
But great night tonight for Jennison. Congratulations coach Josh Lucas
as they go two and oh for the first time
since two thousand and seven.
Speaker 1 (01:58:46):
And with the loss, the huskis at Forestills Northern drop
two zero win two four bucks. You know my name
is Brett Pikita stayed with us special thanks to John Elkar,
executive producer Night in Colvine, helping us in the score
center as once again our final score Jennison twenty three,
Fourth Tools Northern seven.
