(00:00):
What if the enemy's goal isn't to destroy you, but to distract
you? Hey, guys, what's up?
I'm Alec, and welcome back to Father.
Like the Father. Today we are wrapping up our
Rebuild What's Broken series that we've been going through in
the EMI. We've talked about feeling the
burden. We've talked about picking up
the brick. We've talked about building and
fighting at the same time. But there's one last truth.

(00:21):
Nehemiah shows us. When you're doing God's work,
distractions will come. Your enemy doesn't have to break
you if he can just make you comedown from the wall.
In Nehemiah 63 it says I am carrying on a great project and
cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I

(00:41):
leave it and go down to you? Nehemiah's enemies tried
everything, threats, lies, fake negotiations, intimidation, but
Nehemiah wouldn't come down. He knew that God had given him
something to do and he refused to be distracted.
You know, as dads, we face the same thing.

(01:02):
The enemy doesn't always attack us head on.
He tries to pull us away from what matters.
Our faith, our marriage, our kids, our purpose.
The greatest danger isn't alwaysdestruction.
It's distraction. You know, we, we feel it.
As dads, I've felt it. There's been seasons where I was
physically there but not really present.
Pulled in 100 different directions.

(01:23):
Busy, but not effective. You know, I've felt convicted
because there's been those timeswhere I've been climbing down
the wall that I'm supposed to bebuilding.
It's time to refocus. It's time to say no to good
things so I can say yes to the best things.
This week I want you to ask yourself, what is the thing
that's pulling you off your wall?

(01:44):
Name 1 distraction that you needto say no to this week and name
the one thing that you're going to stay committed to.
Instead, write it down, pray over it, tell someone you trust,
your spouse, your kids even. Don't come down from that wall
this week. If you're serious about staying
focused on what matters most, you don't have to do it alone.

(02:05):
Join Rooted in Brotherhood, it'sa free community of faith filled
dads that build well, fight hard, and stay on the wall God
called them to. If you want to join, the link is
in the show notes below. I hope you got a lot from this
series. We learned a lot in Nehemiah
with building and fighting and not coming down from that wall.
I love you guys and I cannot wait to jump into what we have

(02:27):
next. As always, if you guys got a lot
from this, make sure to follow and subscribe and I will see you
guys in the next episode.
