The Person: Jonathan
Scripture: “Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, ‘Come, let us go over to the garrison… It may be that the Lord will work for us. For nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few.’” — 1 Samuel 14:6 (NKJV)
Devotional:
Jonathan believed that God could win victories no matter the odds. While others waited in fear, he stepped out in faith. His bold words—“It may be that the Lord will work for us”—were not uncertainty, but humility. He knew victory didn’t depend on numbers, but on God.
Faith like Jonathan’s is rare because it’s willing to act before the outcome is clear. He didn’t need a full army or a perfect plan. He needed God—and that was enough. His courage rose from confidence in God’s ability, not his own.
What battles are you facing today? You may not feel qualified or equipped, but faith isn’t about feelings—it’s about trust. When you’re rooted in the belief that God is able, you can rise in courage to take the next step—even if it's uphill.
Prayer Prompt:
Lord, help me trust You when I face challenges. Root me in Your strength so I can rise with courage.
