Resurrection power isn't limited to physical bodies being raised from the dead – it's actively available to transform every spiritually dead area in our lives today. Through powerful personal testimonies and biblical accounts of Jesus raising the dead, this message explores how Christ's resurrection power works in us to revitalize our spiritual condition.

When Jairus, a synagogue ruler who would have opposed Jesus' claims of divinity, found himself desperate after his daughter's death, he set aside everything – his reputation, career, and religious standing – to seek the only one who could help. Similarly, when a woman who had exhausted all medical treatments for twelve years of bleeding reached out to touch Jesus' garment, she discovered healing that science couldn't provide. These stories reveal a profound truth: while religion, science, and human reasoning all fail us eventually, Jesus never does.

The message challenges us to identify those areas in our spiritual lives that feel lifeless – whether it's our joy in worship, devotion to prayer, love for Scripture, peace in difficulties, or passion for sharing the gospel. Whatever seems spiritually dead within us can be resurrected through the same power that raised Christ from the dead, which now dwells in every believer.

What makes this teaching especially moving is the reminder that when Jesus approaches our spiritual deadness, He doesn't come with disgust, shame, or judgment. Instead, He is "deeply moved" with compassion, speaking words of life over what seems beyond hope. Just as He commanded "Lazarus, come out!" Jesus speaks resurrection over our spiritual condition when we draw near to Him.

What spiritual area in your life needs Jesus to bring back to life? The power that conquered death itself is available to you today.

If you're excited to be inchurch today, it is good to see
all of your smiling in online aswe're just all going on this
journey together called life, aswe're all just figuring it out

(00:30):
together, all following Jesustogether because he is the only
one worth living for.
Can I get an amen?
Amen, it is great to see youhere, and we are here together
in this series that we arecalling I Need a Miracle.
Look at somebody right now andsay I need a miracle.
I know that's true of you, thatis true of me, that is true of

(00:52):
every single person on theplanet, right?
Because we are people who need.
We're natural people who needsupernatural things to happen in
our lives.
That's why we are in thisseries together all about how
Jesus did miracles during hisearthly ministry, to give us an
idea of how Jesus continues todo miracles in our lives today.

(01:16):
We've already talked about howJesus stopped the storm.
Jesus casted out demons, he fedthe 5,000.
He healed the sick.
Today he raised the dead andeven next week, the Lord's just
really laid it on my heart.
Just to give you a bonusmessage it was supposed to stop
today, but next week we're goingto talk about how Jesus
transfigured, exactly what thatmeans before them, in other

(01:38):
words, what Jesus wants to do inyour life spiritually.
So I just want to say thank you.
Thank you for the way that youhave submitted stories.
You've already gotten to hear alot of different stories of
people from our church and todayI've got more stories for you.
And if you're still wondering, well, how can I submit my story?
You can email it in, and nextweek I'm really just gonna be

(02:00):
talking about how Jesus comesinto our life in terms of
salvation, in terms of salvation.
So if you wanna write in yoursalvation testimony story, this
is your opportunity.
Just a reminder out in ourlobby.
Out there, we have our I Need aMiracle wall Already.
So many tags have been hung, somany miracles have been written

(02:23):
down, and you have anotheropportunity today to do that.
In fact, there are tags allaround these chairs that I want
you to go ahead and grab onearound you and you can go.
If you've not had anopportunity.
Write down a miracle that youwould love to see God do.
Go ahead and write that downduring the service and you'll
either be able to hang it on thewall or just turn it into our

(02:45):
Next Step station.
Because tonight is our night ofworship and prayer, and in our
night of worship and prayertogether at 5 o'clock tonight in
here, we're going to have theopportunity to pray over all of
these prayer tags for God'smiracles to be done according to
his will.

(03:06):
Tonight we're going to worshipJesus together, we're going to
spend time in prayer together, and tonight we're going to do
something that we don'ttypically do as Baptists we're
going to have an anointing withoil segment of our service as
well.
The Bible says in James 5,anybody that is sick, let the
elders of the church anoint themwith oil.
I heard someone say this week Ididn't grow up anointing with

(03:28):
oil in the Baptist church.
They said we anointed biscuitswith gravy, but we didn't annoy
people who were sick and I lovethat.
And so what an opportunitytonight, 5 pm.
I want to invite you to comeback and it's just a time that
we get to pursue Jesus togetherin this night of worship and
prayer.
Pastor Mike Woods is gonna behere tonight, pastor Alan Davis,

(03:50):
pastor Buddy Reeves, our newsenior adult pastor, all of your
staff pastors, and we want justthe honor to be able to pray
over you tonight.
Let's pray right now, heavenlyFather, we pray that you would
just bless our time together inyour word, god.
We just want to say it's allabout your son, jesus, it's all
about the power of your HolySpirit.

(04:11):
God, it's all from the truth ofyour scriptures and God, it's
all for the glory and the workthat you do in our lives.
For you, in Jesus' name, wepray, and all God's people said
amen, amen.
So this morning I want you togo and open your Bible with me
to Matthew, chapter 9.
Matthew, chapter 9, is we'regoing to talk about how Jesus

(04:33):
raised the dead?
Such an interesting topic.
The answer, the question that Iwant to answer this morning, is
what does that mean for youtoday?
What does Jesus raising peoplethen in his earthly ministry
have to do with you today?
Just this past week I heard astory of a man and his wife who

(04:55):
went to the Holy Land, who wentto Israel to go and check where
Jesus lived and where he walked, and all that.
And the man actually invitedand brought along his
mother-in-law cantankerousmother-in-law, right, I mean,
she complained the whole time.
Right, she complained about howhot it was, she complained
about how dry it was, shecomplained about how long the
walks were, all that type stuff.

(05:15):
And don't you know it, there inthe middle of the trip, his
mother-in-law died.
So the undertaker came and saidwell, here's the deal For
$5,000, you can get her bodyshipped back to the United
States where you can bury her,or we can bury her here for $150

(05:37):
.
He said, well, I'll take the$5,000.
He said, sir, are you sure Forjust $150, you can bury your
mother-in-law here, right inIsrael, and it can all be done.
What a special burial place, hesaid.
From what I understand, twoyears ago, 2,000 years ago, a
man died.
He was buried here.
He rose from the dead.
I cannot take that chance.
So he decided to get her shitback.

(05:58):
That was terrible, forgive me,forgive me, I had to tell you
all that.
I had to tell you that.
All right, so here we go.
I want you to know this morning,as we are talking about how
Jesus raised people from thedead, I want to remind you.
I want to remind you of what welearned from the miracles of
Jesus.
Guys, if you can go to thatnext slide for me to the

(06:18):
miracles of Jesus, what welearned from the miracles of
Jesus.
Jesus did the physical miraclesin the past.
Jesus did these physicalmiracles.
Number two we learn Jesus can dophysical miracles in the
present.
Number three we learn thatJesus will do physical miracles

(06:42):
at eternity.
And number four we learn thatJesus will do spiritual miracles
at eternity.
And number four we learned thatJesus will do spiritual
miracles today.
So in other words, such as wetalked about last week, the
miracle of healing, and we seeall throughout the gospels how
Jesus healed the blind, the deaf, the lame, right.
So what does that mean for ustoday?
That means that, yes, jesus didit in the past.
We can believe that.

(07:02):
That is historically true.
We believe that Jesus can dothe physical miracle today.
Jesus does still heal peopletoday.
Number three we believe thatJesus will do this physical
miracle at eternity.
In other words, if you're abeliever and you die and you
needed healing in your life, then Jesus does it at eternity.

(07:22):
In other words, when you enterinto heaven, the Bible says that
you are fully healed.
And number four Jesus will dothe spiritual miracle today.
In other words, the physicalmiracles also point us to the
spiritual miracles.
Like he healed the blind to see, and so today he gives
spiritual sight so that we cansee him.

(07:43):
He healed the deaf to hear, sohe gives us spiritual hearing so
that we can see him.
He healed the deaf to hear, sohe gives us spiritual hearing so
that we can spiritually hearhis voice, or he gives us the
ability to walk with himspiritually.
He does the spiritual miraclestoday.
So this morning, as we'retalking about Jesus raising from
the dead, let's apply it.
Jesus did raise people from thedead.
In the Bible, in fact, we seethat he raised three people from

(08:04):
the dead.
Let's apply it.
Jesus did raise people from thedead in the Bible.
In fact, we see that he raisedthree people from the dead in
the Gospels.
Jesus can raise people from thedead.
We don't see that a whole lotin America today, for whatever
reason.
It does happen more overseas,miraculously.
Number three Jesus will dophysical, will raise people from

(08:24):
the dead at eternity.
If you are saved right, if youbelieve in Jesus, then he will
raise you from the dead and youget to go to heaven forever.
And number four Jesus will dospiritual miracles.
Today and this is where I wannacamp out what does it mean to
spiritually be raised from thedead?
What does it mean tospiritually be raised from the

(08:45):
dead.
Well, on one hand, what thatmeans is salvation.
Everyone say salvation,salvation.
What that means is that Jesusas fully God.
He stepped down out of heaven,he came to earth.
He remained fully God.
He became fully man.
He took on human flesh.
The Bible says that he lived aperfectly sinless life, fully

(09:08):
righteous to the law, to theword of God, and everything he
did was right and nothing he didwas wrong.
He fulfilled the law of God.
On your behalf and my behalf, the Bible says that at the end
of his life, that he wentthrough all of the suffering,
that he went through the torment, the punishment, all of that
for your sin and for my sin.

(09:30):
The Bible says that he went tothe cross and he bore your sin,
he bore my sin, that heliterally died for our sin.
They took his dead body, theyput it in the tomb, they put it
in the grave and the Bible sayson the third day that his dead
body, his lungs filled with air,his eyes opened up, he sat up,

(09:51):
he rolled the tomb away, rolledthe stone away, he walked out of
the tomb and Jesus is ourresurrected.
Lord and King, put your handstogether for the gospel of Jesus
Christ, because that is whatgives you salvation.
So when you get saved, that isthe first and most important

(10:11):
step of your spiritualresurrection, of your spiritual
resurrection.
The Bible says in Romans 6, 4,that you were buried with Jesus
by baptism into death in orderthat, just as Christ was raised
from the dead by the glory ofthe Father, you too might walk

(10:35):
in newness of life.
For if you have been unitedwith him in a death like his,
then you shall certainly beunited with him in a
resurrection like his.
That's why we talk about thegospel every Sunday.
We never know which Sunday issomeone's salvation Sunday or

(10:57):
someone's day to be saved.
So we preach the gospel everySunday.
You can bring someone who'sunsaved any Sunday, because
they'll hear the gospel everysingle Sunday here at First
Baptist Church Powder Springs.
That's why that we make a bigdeal out of our Easter season.
That's why we invite you tocome for Good Friday.
We have a service at 5.30 up inthe sanctuary and seven o'clock
here on that evening, on GoodFriday, and we're just going to

(11:20):
talk about the death, thesuffering, the crucifixion of
Jesus.
So many people said last yearthat was their favorite service
of the entire year, and thenEaster Sunday, 9.30 in the
sanctuary, 11 o'clock, down herewe're going to be celebrating
the resurrection of Jesus and webelieve it's so important that
we're going to have an event forall of our kids in our kids

(11:41):
ministry that morning party withmy peeps, so that we can invite
as many young families and kidsas possible, not so that just
they can get hocked up on sugarypeeps and send them home in a
coma and take a nap right, butso that we can preach the gospel
to them and they would hearabout Jesus, they would give
their lives to Jesus.
For our teenagers or studentministry they're going to be

(12:01):
playing like a scavenger huntall around the church on that
morning.
Why?
Because we want them to comeand to have fun in church, but
also to experience Jesus and tohear the gospel preached in
their language, because webelieve that salvation is the
most important part of aperson's life.
Everyone says salvation, but notonly salvation, but also here's

(12:23):
where I want to camp out thismorning is sanctification.
Everyone say sanctification.
It's a little harder, isn't it?
It's not a word that we use alot.
It's not in our common everydayconversation vocabulary.
That simply means the HolySpirit is working in your life

(12:46):
to transform you, to become morelike Jesus Christ.
Ephesians, chapter two, versefour, says but God, I'm gonna
make it personal being rich inmercy to you because of his
great love for you, with whichhe loves you Even when you were
dead in your trespasses, he madeyou alive together with Jesus

(13:12):
Christ.
So, by God's grace, you havebeen saved and you have been
raised up with Jesus and you.
He seated you with Jesus in theheavenly places in Christ Jesus
.
Here's what he's doing is hehas made Jesus alive in you and

(13:33):
he's made you alive in Jesus.
He is at salvation.
He has raised you from the dead, spiritually speaking, and
here's your sanctification fromthe dead, spiritually speaking.
And here's your sanctification.
Your sanctification is makingdead areas in your life come to
life in Jesus Christ.
Making areas in your life thatare not alive, making them come

(13:57):
to life in Jesus Christ.
So here's my big question foryou this morning what spiritual
area of your life do you want tosee Jesus bring to life within
you?
What spiritual area of yourlife do you wanna see Jesus
bring to life within you?

(14:18):
Here are just some options.
Maybe it's your joy for Jesus, your worship of Jesus.
Maybe you've never experiencedone of these things, or maybe
you've experienced one of thesebefore, but yet it's died and
you feel like it needs to comeback to life again.
Your devotion, your convictionof sin, the love in your

(14:39):
marriage, the patience in yourparenting, your sexual purity,
your peace in Christ, your lovefor him, your sexual purity,
your peace in Christ, your lovefor him, your obedience towards
him, your contentment in him, your calling for him, your
generosity to him, your tithingfor him, your thankfulness in
him, your humility in Jesus.
You glorifying Jesus with yourlife, prioritizing community of

(15:02):
believers around you, servingother people with the gifts that
God has given you, witnessingthe gospel to the lost around
you, your life of prayer toJesus, your life of fasting,
getting in the word of God ordevoting your life to the church
of Jesus Christ, repentancefrom sin, the love for your
family and the way that youleverage your relationships for

(15:25):
Jesus.
What is it in you that maybe itwas there before, maybe it's
never been there that you wouldlove to see Jesus bring to life
within you?
This morning, I would titlethis message when a Miracle
Seems Impossible, when a miraclewithin you seems impossible,

(15:46):
from Matthew, chapter 9,.
Let's dig in very quickly.
Here we go.
Number one when a miracle seemsimpossible, what do you do?
Number one you put Jesus overreligion.
Everyone say Jesus.
You put Jesus over religion.
Why?
Because it's so easy for me andit's so easy for you to choose
religion, because that's the waythat we're sinfully wired.

(16:10):
Matthew, chapter 9, verse 18,says this while Jesus was saying
these things to them, behold, aruler came in and knelt before
Jesus, saying my daughter hasjust died, so come and lay your
hand on her and she will live.
May not seem like a big deal atfirst glance, but first of all
let's check out who this is.

(16:30):
This man's name is Jairus.
Jairus was known as a ruler ofthe local Jewish synagogue.
In other words, jairus did notbelieve in Jesus.
Jesus claimed to be the Messiah, the one who came from heaven,
the son of God who would bringsalvation to the world.
But the Jews didn't buy it.
The Jews didn't believe him.

(16:51):
And so here's Jairus.
He is not just a Jew, he's notjust practicing Judaism.
Jairus is literallyantagonistic against Jesus being
the very son of God.
But now Jairus has found himselfin this life scenario where his
12-year-old girl has died andreligion has failed him, because

(17:16):
there's no power for her, there's no hope for her, there's
no life for her.
And so he risks it all.
He risks all the education hewent through, he risks all the
friendships that are around him.
He risks his very career.
He risks all of his friends.
He risks his very reputation.
And what does he do?
The Bible says that he ran toJesus and he knelt before Jesus

(17:39):
because he was desperate foronly the one who could do what
only Jesus could do.
And he said Jesus, as he'skneeling, my daughter has died.
Jesus, all you need to dolisten to his faith.
All you need to do is lay yourhand on her and she will live.
I want to remind you thismorning that religion says if
you obey, then God will love youand then he will save you, but

(18:03):
the gospel says that since Jesusobeyed, therefore, god loves
you and God saves you.
One of you wrote this story inthis week said I grew up in
church.
I've always loved Jesus, butlife brought some deep storms.
In 2016, after a healthypregnancy, our baby boy, mer,

(18:23):
was born during an emergencyC-section, but he didn't survive
.
Our world crashed.
We asked why over and over, butGod kept showing up through our
church, our family and thesmall signs that reminded us
that God was still near.
A year later, after the suddenloss of my grandfather, I

(18:45):
started to feel God again, thistime in the form of new life.
She said I found out I waspregnant and in 2018, our son,
john Ryland, was born on thesame day, at the same time as
Merrick.
Two years earlier, god turnedmourning into joy.
Then, in 2019, she said, Isuddenly lost vision in my right

(19:09):
eye.
I was diagnosed with MS at just25.
It was terrifying, but again, god surrounded me with support
and eventually restored my sight.
She said one Sunday morning inworship, tears fell as I
realized God had been speakingto me all along.
She said in March 2020, Isurrendered my life to Jesus and

(19:30):
that August, she said, I wasbaptized with my son in the
front row.
She said I may never listen tothis.
She said I may never have allthe answers.
She said, but I know this.
God is faithful and his storythrough my life is still
unfolding.
I want to remind you that Jesusover religion in your life means

(19:52):
that you have been saved bygrace through faith.
It is not of your own doing.
It is the gift of God, not aresult of works, so that no one
may boast.
But guess what?
Just like you aren't saved byyour works, you're also not
sanctified by your works.
God doesn't save you by graceand save you by faith.

(20:15):
And then he says now work ashard as you can to make your
life like Jesus.
No, he says you trust in Jesusto get saved and you trust in
Jesus to get sanctified.
In other words, what he'ssaying is religion.
Your works will never work.
It's powerless, it's dead andit will fail you.
What is the way in which thatyou begin to experience what you

(20:40):
want within you, to come alivespiritually?
Just like Jairus, you run toJesus, the only one who can do
it in you.
Number two not only do we seeJesus over religion, we see
Jesus over science.
It says in Matthew, chapternine, verse 19,.
So Jesus rose and he followedJairus with his disciples.

(21:03):
And behold, a woman who hadsuffered from a discharge of
blood for 12 straight years cameup behind him.
Other gospel writers tell usthat she had seen all the
doctors, she had probably hadall the procedures, she had
tried all the medicine.
It even seems to insinuate thatshe had emptied out all of her

(21:25):
bank account.
She tried everything that shepossibly could and nothing
worked.
And she comes up behind Jesusand she touches the fringe of
his garment.
She touches the fringe ofJesus' garment for she said to
herself, if I only touch hisgarment, I will be made well.
Jesus turned and, seeing her,he said take heart, daughter.

(21:48):
Your faith has made you well.
And instantly the woman wasmade well.
This was a woman because shehad tried everything.
Hear me, science failed her.
What is the word of God tellingyou?
The word of God is telling youthat, while God made science,

(22:08):
god gives wisdom to doctors andnurses and therapists and
psychologists and psychiatristsand hospitals, and we thank God
for our hospital system.
We thank God for the doctors, the nurses, the medical
community.
I believe in surgeries and Ibelieve in therapies and I
believe in procedures and Ibelieve in therapies and I
believe in procedures and Ibelieve in medicines and all
these things.

(22:28):
I may believe that they work, but they only work because God
uses them in order to healpeople.
Can I get an amen?
It is God who is behind it all.
And while we believe in them,we don't trust in them.
While we believe in them.
We don't put all of our hope inthem, because here's the deal
Science says man and his methodscan fix what is broken in you,

(22:54):
but faith says only Jesus canbring to life what has
spiritually died in me.
One of you wrote in and said Ihave many miracles to share, but
my most recent one was a yearand a half ago when I went for
an early colonoscopy.
I was only 35 years old.
My sister passed away fromcolon cancer.

(23:14):
In that colonoscopy they founda cancerous mass surrounding my
appendix.
Normally this type of cancerisn't found until it is either
burst or until it is completelytaken over your abdominal cavity
.
At this point your chance ofsurvival is less than 2%.

(23:35):
But because I went for an earlycolonoscopy, they were able to
remove the mass and cancer witha much higher chance that it had
not spread further into myabdominal cavity.
The Lord chose to save me fromthis cancer that I would have
most likely died from in thenext 10 years.

(23:58):
What is this person saying?
That while God uses science tohelp us, it is only God who can
heal us.
Can I get an amen?
Because we see in 1 Corinthians1, verse 25, what the world
would call the gospel, what theworld would call Jesus, the
foolishness of God.
God says, okay, you wanna callall of these things of me

(24:22):
foolishness.
He said guess what?
My foolishness is wiser thanall of you.
He says you wanna calleverything about me weak, fine,
but even all of my weakness isstronger than anything that
you've got you know in life.
Sometimes we can not eventhinking about it.
We can trust in religion thatthat religion can do things

(24:46):
within us, that we can do thesethings in ourselves, or science,
that someone else can dosomething in me and make me
whole.
And the scriptures arereminding you it is only Jesus
who can do a work in you tobring things to life spiritually
that have died or that havenever been to life within you

(25:08):
before.
And so what does this lady do?
She reaches out and she touchesJesus.
And that's our call to reachout and to say Jesus, I need you
.
Number three is Jesus overreason, verse 23,.
So the lady touches Jesus andshe's healed.
And so Jesus continues to go toJairus' house.

(25:29):
And Jesus came to the ruler'shouse and he saw flute players
and a crowd making a largecommotion.
Basically, back then they wouldliterally hire professional
mourners, professional fluteplayers, professional wailers at
the funeral.
Because the louder theprofessional wailers would wail,
it made people more comfortableto express their grief.

(25:52):
Jesus said to all of them ashe's walking up on the scene,
jesus looks at them and he saysgo away.
He says go away.
He says, for the girl is notdead, but sleeping.
They laughed at him.
Why did they laugh at him?
Because Jesus hadn't even seenher yet.

(26:13):
They had already been inside ofher house.
They had seen her dead.
They had seen her stopbreathing.
The doctors had alreadypronounced it.
And here comes this man walkingon the scene and he said she's
not dead, she's sleeping.
You ever notice how often Godcalls death sleep?

(26:34):
Why?
Because we call death death.
Because death means that it'sfinal.
Death means that it's over.
Death means that there'snothing next right, but sleep
means that they're going to wakeup.
Sleep means that they're justdeath.
To Jesus is like somebodytaking a nap, but yet their life

(26:56):
is going to continue and whathe's saying is.
What he's saying is that whenyou die, you're going to wake up
somewhere.
When you die and you have JesusChrist in your life, you're
gonna wake up in heaven.
When you die and you're withoutJesus.
The Bible says that you wake upin hell.
She said.

(27:16):
Jesus said that the girl's notdead but she's sleeping.
They laughed at him.
And so when the crowd, when heput all of the crowd outside,
jesus went into the house.
I love that.
Jesus is not about popularity,he's not about fame, he's not
about people just completelywatching everything that he's
doing.
Jesus sends them all out, hegoes in the house and he just
takes the girl by the hand andthe Bible says and the girl

(27:40):
arose, she came back to life, she rose from the dead.
And the report went through allthat district about what Jesus
has done.
See the reason.
Their reason told them she'sdead, but Jesus comes on the
scene and says she's not dead, she's sleeping.
In other words, I can't trustme and you can't trust you.

(28:06):
Reason says I can do thismyself.
Faith says only Jesus can dothis for me.
One of you shared your story andsaid on February 26, 1998, I
became a mom to my sweet son, trevor.
From birth, doctors knewsomething was wrong.

(28:29):
He was pale.
By two days old, he was in theNICU, needing blood transfusions
.
Tests showed his bone marrowwasn't producing red blood cells
and at nine months our churchlaid hands on him and prayed for
his healing.
Miraculously his countstabilized and he never needed
another transfusion.

(28:50):
But later his body developedsevere muscle inflammation and
on January 22nd of 2000, aftermany hospital stays, trevor went
home to be with Jesus.
He was diagnosed posthumouslywith Pearson syndrome, a rare
mitochondrial disease.
Doctors said he should havenever survived birth or ever

(29:15):
lived normally.
But we told them it wasn't asomehow that he did that, it was
a someone who did it for him.
It was God, she said.
Years later I lost my husbandunexpectedly to a heart attack,
followed by my father-in-law andthen my brother.
And here's what she says.

(29:35):
But through it all, god hasprovided for me and my three
daughters.
We have found peace, strength, even joy, in Christ, she said.
I am not strong on my own.
She said Christ is my strength, his grace is what carries me

(30:00):
every single day.
I want to remind you that it isJesus in you who makes the
difference within you.
It is his power within you.
It is not your reason, it's notyou, it's not science, it's not
religion.
Because Ephesians, chapter 1,verse 19, says and what is the

(30:21):
immeasurable greatness of hispower toward you?
What is his immeasurable powertowards you who believe it's the
working of his great might inyou, that he has worked in
Christ when he raised Jesus fromthe dead and he seated him at
his right hand in the heavenlyplaces.
In other words, here's what Godis saying.

(30:42):
The same power that rose Jesusfrom the dead, that same
resurrection power is in you ifyou believe in Jesus.
And whatever it is that iswithin you, whatever it is that
you feel like has died, whateverit is that you feel like needs

(31:06):
to come to life within you, it'snot going to be religion and
it's not going to be science andit's not going to be reason and
it's not going to be you andit's not going to be someone
else and it's not going to be aspouse and it's not going to be
a child and it's not going to bea drug and it's not going to be
alcohol and it's not going tobe a career, and it's not gonna
be a career and it's not gonnabe a salary, it's not gonna be a
vacation, it's gonna be Jesus.

(31:26):
Jesus is the only one who canbring back to life within you
what needs to be brought back tolife.
So let's watch what happens.
In Luke 7, there was a young manwho died.
His mom was a widow.
She had just lost her husband.
He was probably somewherebetween the ages of 18 to 25.

(31:48):
He was his own mother'sprovider, her only provider.
In Luke 7, verse 14 says Jesuscame up and he touched the bier,
that's the board that the youngman was dead laying on.
It says the bearers stood stilland Jesus said to the young man
young man, I say to you, arise.
And the dead man sat up andbegan to speak and Jesus gave

(32:13):
him to his mother.
In other words, what do we need?
We just need Jesus to be closeto us.
The Bible says in James 4, 8,that if you draw near unto him,
he will draw near unto you.
And lastly, I think aboutLazarus, the last thing I'll say
.
Read and listen to this passagewith me.

(32:36):
Jesus said to Martha and Maryhe said I'm the resurrection and
the life.
In other words, jesus is theonly way that you're gonna be
resurrected from the dead.
But he's not just yourresurrection, he's your life too
.
He's the one that gives youabundant life.
He's the one that makes youcome alive.
He's the one that gives youspiritual life, the spiritual

(32:59):
life that is better than anyphysical life that you could
ever experience.
He says I am your resurrectionand I am your life.
He says whoever believes in me,you wanna come alive in Christ.
What do you do?
You believe in Jesus, yet hethough.
He die, yet he shall live, andeveryone who lives and believes
in me shall never die.
What do I want you to focus onthis week is just living and

(33:23):
believing in Jesus.
Living for him, believing inhim.
In verse 38, it says Jesus wasdeeply moved.
You know, when Jesus looks atthat area of your life that you
want to come to life, he doesn'tlook at it with disgust.
He doesn't look at you withshame.

(33:44):
He doesn't cast guilt upon you.
He doesn't say what's taken solong.
He doesn't say what's wrongwith you.
He doesn't say why have younever done this before?
He's deeply moved.
He deeply loves you.

(34:06):
It says Jesus was deeply movedand he came to the tomb.
He goes to that which needs tocome to life within us.
It says it was a cave, a stonelaid against it.
Jesus said take away the stone.
Martha, the sister of the deadman, said to him Lord, by this
time there will be an odor, forhe has been dead for four days.

(34:28):
Or maybe you're thinking, pastor Chip, my miracle seems
impossible.
What's dead within me has beendead a long time.
I think it's too late.
It's never happened before.

(34:48):
It says in verse 40,.
And Jesus said to her did I nottell you that if you believe,
you will see the glory of God?
Why do you want your miracle?
Is it for you or is it for theglory of God?

(35:09):
So they took away the stone andJesus lifted up his eyes.
What do we do when your miracleseems impossible?
When you need Jesus to bring tolife that which is dead within
you, you pray, you lift youreyes to heaven.
You go to the one who can do it.
Jesus lifted up his eyes and hesaid Father, I thank you, you

(35:32):
have heard me.
What a reminder that, throughJesus, god the Father hears you.
He invites you to pray to him.
He said and I knew that youalways hear me, verse 43.
And when he had said thesethings, he cried out with a loud

(35:52):
voice.
Lazarus said these things.
He cried out with a loud voiceLazarus, lazarus, come out.
And that's what I need Jesus todo over these things in my life

(36:13):
, and that's what you need Jesusto do is for Jesus to speak
over the dead things in our lifeand bring them back to life.
And the man who had died cameout, his hands and his feet
bound with linen strips and hisface wrapped with a cloth.
And Jesus said to them unbindhim and let him go.
And that's what Jesus says tomy sin.
And let him go.
And that's what Jesus says tomy sin, and that's what Jesus

(36:39):
says to your sin.
Unbind him, unbind her and letthem go so they can experience
all of these things spirituallywithin them that I have created
them, for All of these blessings, all of these feelings, all of

(37:03):
this power, all of thisabundance, all of this joy,
everything that I want to dowithin them.
And if you look up on thatscreen and you see something you
struggle with, I just wannaremind you of one thing I just
put up there different thingsthat I have struggled with
throughout my life, that I'veneeded Jesus to bring back to

(37:28):
life in me, because it's notreligion, it's not science, it's
not religion, it's not science,it's not reason, it's not self,
it's Jesus over everything.
Can I ask you to bow your headsand close your eyes?

(37:52):
With every head bowed and everyeye closed.
What is it in your life?
Just pick one thing that youwould love Jesus to bring back
to life in you.

(38:13):
Like Jairus, run to Jesus Likethe woman with the issue for 12
years.
Reach out and touch him Likethe little girl.
Allow Jesus just to reach outand touch your hand Like the
young man who died.
Allow Jesus just to come nearyou by the way in which that you

(38:36):
come near to him and, likeLazarus, let Jesus speak over
that area of your life.
Go to him in his word, have atrusted spiritual mentor.
Speak into that area of yourlife and watch Jesus bring it to

(38:58):
life again.
And maybe you're here and youcan't experience that yet,
because you haven't given yourlife to Jesus yet.
And I pray that right here, right now, today, in this moment
, is your moment of salvation inJesus, because the Bible says
that if you believe that he diedfor your sin, he rose from the

(39:20):
dead.
You call on him to be the Lordof your life.
He'll save you now and you willbe saved forever.
So right here, right now, fromyour own heart and your own
words, you can pray and you cansay Jesus, I believe in you,
jesus, I need you and you canpray and you can say Jesus, I
believe in you.
Jesus, I need you and you cantell him Jesus, I believe that
you died on the cross for my sin, so I'm asking you to forgive

(39:43):
me of all my sin.
You can tell him Jesus, Ibelieve that you rose from the
dead, so I turn from my sin andI live my life for you.
And the Bible says that if youconfess with your mouth that he
is Lord, believe with your heartthat God raised him from the
dead, you will be saved.

(40:03):
So confess right now, say Jesus, be the Lord of my life.
Jesus, you are Lord, so Jesusbe my Lord.
And Jesus, we believe that.
We thank you for that truth.
We pray that in Jesus' name.
And all God's people said wouldyou put your hands together for
anybody that gave their life toJesus?

(40:24):
Here in this moment, we are sothankful.
We just want to say welcome tothe family.
We're so grateful for what Godhas done in you.
I want to ask us all to standright now, with everybody
standing.
We're gonna worship Jesus.
We're gonna worship the one whorose from the dead for you.
We're gonna worship the onethat you can trust and you can

(40:46):
believe that when you die oneday in him, if you are saved,
you're gonna rise from the deadtoo.
But you don't have to wait tillthen, because you can
spiritually experience this inthis life now, as he brings you
to life at salvation and hecontinues to bring things to

(41:08):
life in you from your salvation.
So you can experience him allthe more.
Let's sing to that Jesus, let'sgive him all the more.
Let's sing to that Jesus.
Let's give him all the glory.
Let's lift our voices right nowand let's worship him together.
