Nick (00:07):
It's time to get fucking authentic Well, good morning and
here we are Nancy. at NiagaraFalls New York. Good morning. Oh
my god. So yeah, we we left youguys off yesterday, yesterday.

(00:29):
Really awesome week.

Unknown (00:30):
We don't even know what day it is right now. I'm

Nick (00:31):
so involved in this fucking road trip that I don't
even really honestly, I can'teven remember what day it was
until right now I just say. Soit is Thursday. Yeah. Yeah. So
we're recording this Thursday, actually. So what we're really
supposed to have our, ourepisodes to our producer within

(00:52):
at least seven days so that hecan do and we've dropped the
ball a little bit because wewere in the Adirondacks. That's
where we left everyone. That'swhere we left everyone last
time. And we had basically noservice. Yes, correct. So in the
background, if you guys I'msorry, if you guys hear like
this rush of water. We areliterally about 100 feet now.
I'd say a little bit more fromNiagara Falls here on the New

(01:13):
York side. Yes. So beautiful.
Pardon our beautiful outdoornoises or the

Nancy (01:20):
beautiful outdoor noise all by herself, which is kind of
nice.

Nick (01:23):
Yeah, we are in Adirondack National Park. I have Oh, geez.
Niagara Falls National Park.
Mountain is still in themountains Jesus, man. But holy
shit. the Adirondacks. That was

Nancy (01:35):
crazy. Colors, the peacefulness. They just
everything.

Nick (01:41):
Yeah, it was amazing.
Because for for a few years forWell, we've been married 34
Yeah, I was gonna say I justwanted to make an East Coast
sort of trip. Fall trip. Falltrip because? Well, to the east.
Yes. Yeah. We've done the West.
We've traveled all out. We'veseen Callaway been everywhere.
Yeah, we've been everywhere. Andactually, we haven't. And that's

(02:02):
the whole point of this. Sotrue. We got to the Adirondacks,
you guys, literally we'redriving. So first of all, we're
going to give you a little bitof a review and an overview of
our trip. We're coming throughIndiana, and I had planned this
grand fucking road trip wherewe're going to stop at these
coffee shops like we do. And wewant to sort of start doing a

(02:23):
lot of that where we stop on ourtrips. We share a bunch of that
shit with you guys. But we weregonna stop at coffee could like
coffee shops, we always stoppedthe coffee shop, we drink 10
cups of coffee a day. But dude,Indiana sucks.

Unknown (02:38):
It was a little disappointing.

Nick (02:39):
It was like these fucking Tim Hortons and all this.

Nancy (02:42):
I mean, when you really need a cup of coffee, Tim
Hortons is not.

Nick (02:46):
I'm not putting Tim Hortons down. I'm just saying
that. We'd like the local momand pop shops, right? We want
100%? Definitely. We've beensmall business owners. We are
small business owners now evenwith a few things, but I'm just
saying that we love supportinglocal small businesses,
especially along the road. Yes,dude, what a shitshow.

Unknown (03:07):
That was, that was interesting.

Nick (03:09):
This is why that we want people to also really get
involved with us with this is tosay, man, there's this really
cool coffee shop here, thisreally cool spot here that you
guys would enjoy whether it'sfor anything anything outdoorsy
adventure. With that being said,Indiana sucked.

Unknown (03:29):
Then we entered Ohio, Ohio,

Nick (03:31):
Ohio, and it was a bit better. But the funny thing
about Ohio is so so I said alongthe road, what we're going to do
is we're going to stop Nancyloves covered bridges gaps. She
loves covered bridges. And so

Nancy (03:45):
it's a little different, because normally are covered
bridges like the ones we've seenin Indiana, or

Nick (03:50):
you're getting ahead of yourself, girl,

Unknown (03:51):
am I yeah, I think so covered

Nancy (03:53):
bridges anyway. Normally, we can't drive through them. So

Nick (03:59):
I think well, we didn't know any of that. No, we didn't
know we So again, my grandelscheme of planning this planning
this out.

Nancy (04:08):
Whichever one has to understand we normally don't
plan things out. This is verydifferent. We normally like just
go and it's like, maybe tired.
You want to stop here. You wantto see if there's someplace
around here where we could layour heads. Hey. Crazy. So this
was a little different for us.

Nick (04:26):
Well, it's funny because it is different. You kept saying
you know, let's just plan aLet's Play and I'm like Are you
know what? Absolutely. Let'splan it. Let's not run off the
seat of our pants here becauseif it was up to me, we just stop
at this hotel. Fuckit spend thenight whatever but we planned
it. We planned it down from thefirst night where we spent the
night yeah, the Airbnbs for thenext the whole week.

Unknown (04:48):
Yeah, well. Yes until today

Nick (04:51):
until today. Now we don't know what to do. Right. asleep
on the side of the road. We weregoing into these covered bridges
in there, I saw four of them onthe map, because if you pull up
on the map, I was like, Wow,

Nancy (05:05):
90 That was the whole thing you were trying to go 90,
right? Like what was close by sowe don't throw because we don't
like to veer off, you know, 2030minutes off the expressway. So
yeah, you did really close ones.

Nick (05:17):
Well, let me say you also remember, we stayed on the
highway this generally we dotake back roads. This is true.
This is a further trip to takeback roads. So it would have
taken us fucking three weeks toget to the

Unknown (05:30):
way you drive. Babe, I don't know who you're talking
to. I think everyone knows theway you drive. But yeah, so
it'll take three weeks what

Nick (05:38):
but we again, we were driving down and we see these, I
had figured out these fourcovered bridges. If you guys I
don't know if any of you haveever been to Ashtabula County in
Ohio, it seems boring as fuck.
But let me tell you, man, it's abeautiful place it it's, it's
unbelievable. And what we didn'trealize is as we go to the first
covered bridge, which happens tobe one of the longest covered

(06:01):
bridges, and I'm sorry, I shouldhave all this information on
hand to even say this right now.
But we don't. So on the nextepisode, we'll start running
through some things so cuzbecause people are gonna say,
well, you're going to tell usabout all the these beautiful
places in what you see butAshtabula County is a big
fucking County. It is it is. Butanyway, we get to this first

(06:23):
covered bridge. It's literallythe longest spanning covered
bridge I think it said in theUnited States, right? So when
Nancy was saying is we we go tolike Park County and we go into
Brown County in Indiana, andthey have covered bridge
festival, whatever. That's allwe've ever seen of any kind of
concentrated covered bridges, which is absolutely beautiful,
but some of them a lot of themyou can't drive over. Right? You

(06:44):
literally Park off to the sideright you walk in there
beautiful. Every fucking coveredbridge. We went to the four you
can drive across, which wasamazing. Yeah, it was number
one, but what we didn't realizeis that there's 17

Unknown (06:58):
in this how do you say it again?

Nick (07:01):
County 17 covered bridges, which to us is just absolutely
insane. Like this is like theHoly Grail of covered bridges
for Nancy at least Yes.

Nancy (07:11):
But not only that, we did for you know there was Owens
there was there was a differentset we

Nick (07:17):
have to say Olins covered bridge. We that's a story in of
itself. Right. So Olins coveredbridge. We get down here.
Beautiful. Absolutely. I mean, just the scenery. It's in the
fall, right. So now of coursethe colors are there. The colors
have changed the creek or theriver that's running underneath
that thing is crystal fuckingclear. The scenery is beautiful.

(07:38):
We get out we're sort of hikingIreson ally ourselves. We're
sort of thing. All of a sudden, seriously, you guys. This is
road trip and right. Nancy seesthis guy. Okay, wait.

Nancy (07:50):
Well, so he went to his mailbox or so I thought he was
going to his mail bag. Well, that was his house. Who knows?
Then all of a sudden the show.

Nick (08:00):
Wait a minute, you This chick is fucking freaked out of
everything. She sees this guylike, okay, come on, guys. We
didn't know how old he was atthe time. Right? We know now.
But here's this guy walking up.
He looks at least bat. At leasthe weighs no more than a
toothpick. And he's walking upvery slowly. He's not come on
there was at

Unknown (08:21):
his MO who knows?
stuff? I don't know. But

Nick (08:27):
the funny thing about it is this dude is walking up. He
has these really baggy pants. Hehas on this baggy, pink
sweatshirt. A little stuffydirt. You know, he was a
mountain man. There's no doubtabout

Unknown (08:40):
it. He, man, that's my question. You don't I'm saying?

Nick (08:44):
This knit hat. He comes walking. Fucking sweetest guy in
the world. He

Unknown (08:48):
wasn't even cold out.
Here's the freaking out.

Nick (08:51):
Here's what Nancy says.
Oh, here we go. Like, oh, herewe go. Like what the fuck are
you talking about? Let's justsay we don't travel without some
sort of defensive mechanism with

Unknown (09:02):
with time you always have your bear spray.

Nick (09:06):
Right? I do, actually. But so anyway, guy walks up
introduces himself that doesn'tsay who he is. Now. We're just
like, hey, so how you doingblah, blah. Anyway, make a long
story short. The bridge thatwe're at has been there since
1826, I think or something likethat. Come to find out his
grandfather helped build thebridge. So like grandfather
fucking 1800 Whatever. I'm like,So how old are you? The guy is

(09:30):
92 years old. His name's BarryOlin. They're just named under
his grandfather's name basicallyis right. He lives right there.
Beautiful setting.

Unknown (09:41):
I guess that was his real mailbox.

Nick (09:43):
It was his mailbox. The guy's never been married. What
did he say? Was his real He's sofunny. What did he says reason
for not kidding.

Unknown (09:49):
He was in love with two women at the same time, same
time.

Nick (09:53):
They knew we were very bold or somebody still looking
for with rich white. So I says,Well, you, you know you ever
gonna get married or whatever?
And he says, Well, if I find mea rich wife, he's he was
absolutely fucking hilarious.
The guy was nice. He literallytook us on a tour under the
bridge, like, what's yourcalling? And I freaked out? Of

(10:15):
course, right? Because now he'sleading us down a path. This is
why though, we want to do ourpodcasts live videos, because,
literally, I have clips andpictures of us meeting this guy.
I have video of us actuallywalking down with him. He was
really generous and kind enoughto give us a little bit of a
history of the bridge. He woundup taking pictures with us. He

(10:38):
was really a cool, pretty coolold cat. But those are the
things we love. Well, I loveNancy gets freaked out. And then
it's cool to talk about it after

Unknown (10:48):
Yeah, afterwards, because we're still alive. I
love that.

Nick (10:55):
This is what's freaky about this whole fucking thing.
Right? So we do the coveredbridges. We do another one where
we stop off at this Amishchocolate place. Oh yeah. Which
was in the middle of fuckingnowhere, which was just awesome.
We ate those fucking peanutbutter bars for like five days.
Oh, let's camp out of bars arereally good. So we're driving
away from that place to our nextbridge. We get to the bridge.

(11:18):
It's beautiful. Absolutely.
Again, beautiful takingpictures. I gotta pee. So I go
off the side. And Nancy's like, hey, a car just pulled up. So
I'm sitting there and I'm likepeeing, and I'm like, I wear
that she's like, they're stillup here taking pictures.
Obviously get done. Zip up mypants. We come back up from the
bridge and we're walking up andthere's these two people this
couple older couple. Andeverybody's really cool. Really

(11:41):
nice. Hey, how you doing? Bridgeblah, blah, blah. And the guy
says what does he say?

Nancy (11:48):
Hey, I don't know if you guys have been to the old ones
bridge, but there's this old manthere.

Nick (11:54):
It starts telling us the history. I'm like, Oh my God.
This fucking guy is like a tourguide for the Olins bridge,

Unknown (12:01):
but he didn't know his name so didn't know but of
course, but I'm just sayinglike, holy shit.

Nick (12:06):
How in the fucking world are we driving another 10 miles
to this bridge? And we seesomeone who just came from
fucking bury it. I was laughingmy ass off. But anyway, cool
people we laugh we say yeah, blah, blah, blah. So we get on
our way. And we wind up drivingout to Erie, Pennsylvania. Yes.
And that's where we that was ourfirst night. We stayed in Erie,

(12:29):
Pennsylvania. We just stayed ata hotel there. Yeah. I don't
know if anybody's ever stayed atthe cobblestone suites. Or okay,
it was it. No, it was no frillswhen we're just traveling. And
we're just overnight we don'treally look for no frills play
you know we don't really lookfor places that are like I don't
know fucking place to put yourhead right.

Unknown (12:50):
Yeah, we just want to sleep. Well, you've been driving
she

Nick (12:52):
wants to comfort but we were driving and we were doing
our thing. So anyway, we stay inErie, Pennsylvania. What do you
think of Erie

Nancy (12:58):
area was okay. Yeah, just that area. Remember, we were
looking at a restaurant and wethought we found a restaurant
and Nancy was a little skittishagain. Yeah, you were kind of
around the about but we wound upfinding that next place that
really good fresh Yeah, Mexicanfresh salsa fresh tortilla. I

Nick (13:17):
have to say I'm gonna put a little thing out here about
Google and maps and driving andall that kind of shit. Yeah,
dude, Google lies fuckingGoogle's a liar. Fuck yeah. Why
do you say well you know it likeit'll say something's open or
it'll say oh yeah, no, thereplaces are closed up or we were

(13:38):
in Lake Placid and we werelooking for the coffee shop and
the fucking place that they wereopen at whatever we get there
and there they don't open forthe next day or so. Yeah, it was
hilarious. So it's close thatthe hours were completely
different on the window thananyway

Nancy (13:53):
and I have to say people take some really good pictures
of their but that's what I'msaying establishment because
it's nothing

Nick (14:02):
Google's a fucking it's okay, but it's really not

Nancy (14:05):
it's people that put the input the information so it's
not Google everyone else that's

Nick (14:10):
gonna tell you what people saw. Or you know what, like,
people need to update theirshit. Like if they own the
business if you want businesslike people like us to work
common to

Nancy (14:20):
you. Yeah, like, like anybody knows any other way to
look at stuff with realinformation besides Google
please let us know because thatis one thing unless I call and
sometimes you don't have phoneservice. You don't know what the
area Yeah, you don't know if thearea is open or not. But anyway,

Nick (14:38):
so we go and we eat this.
I gotta get these names. It wasit was it was a call was a
really Mad Max. Yeah, Mad Max.
He was mad max in Erie,Pennsylvania. Dude, let me tell
you some. I get in this placeand I'm like, This is gonna be a
piece of shit. But you knowwhat, and the reason why I say
that is because like, we're inthe Chicago, Illinois area and

(14:59):
we have some really good fuckingMexican food, right? So when you
go to like a corporate typestore, which we don't like
doing, but it happened to be theonly fucking thing it was a
Friday. Well, yeah, it's abigger. No, I

Unknown (15:12):
think it was a family owned it I say

Nick (15:15):
corporate because it's a big it was a big place. Yes, we
go in there and you ordered thetortilla soup because we split a
lot, but you order the tortillasoup because you're always down
for a good tortilla soup. And Iorder the steak. It's like a
steak bowl. Because I'm tryingto watch my carbs. You know your
card, man. So we order the steakbowl. And we both ordered the

(15:36):
corn. Oh the Lord. Dude, thisfucking corn. I've never tasted
shit like that before that shewas so chipotle sauce

Nancy (15:46):
or something that they put and I'm not a big Chipotle
person. But that was reallygood.

Nick (15:50):
Seriously, we hungry right now. I'm telling you. I want to
go have breakfast. Right now weare in Niagara Falls and it's
about what 830 Okay, it's prettyquiet. No, it's pretty awesome.
Outdoors, of course. But anyway, keep it on with shit that so the
bowl was good. The fucking meatwas good. That place called
Madmax in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Salsa. Yeah, that shit washomemade with their own homemade

(16:14):
shit. Yeah, that place

Unknown (16:17):
was good. But going back to Eric Madmax. He

Nick (16:20):
went back to Erie fly in.
Did it real quick and then gohome. So we wind up getting done
in Erie, Pennsylvania. Cool.
Stop off. It wasn't we didn't doanything major. But it was a
cool stop off. And we head upinto the Adirondacks.

Nancy (16:34):
First stop is in inlet, inland New York. Okay. Well dry.
There. Yes, go ahead. I have tosay the colors weren't changing.
All green. And we were like God,with this new experience now no
colors. It's okay. We got this.

Nick (16:49):
It's still supposed to be beautiful. All the reviews.
We've read everybody, whatever.
But we're going there to see thefucking color. So we're driving,
we're driving. We're like, man,if this is the way it is, but
you know what? Let's enjoy thetime. Yes. Let's enjoy the
moment. And we're driving andwe're just enjoying the moment
we're talking and we're laughingand we're cruising. And it was

(17:10):
the weirdest thing. When we gotto Adirondack Park. It was
almost like nature opened theirfucking doors to us. And

Nancy (17:24):
welcome does with dude, orange and reds and fucking
yellows. And

Nick (17:31):
it was I don't even again, this is why we need to start
doing the videos so that we canshare this with people. But let
me tell you guys, I'vepersonally I'll tell you about
me first. Since I'm talking andI always talk so much. Probably
too much. Sometimes. The colorswere unbelievable. There were so

(17:51):
many different shades of red,and orange and yellow. And all
burns and browns in maroons inthe greens from the pines. Yeah,
that was that are just plainlooking in between all these It
was absolutely fuckingincredible. Nothing ever like
I've ever seen in my life. Well,

Nancy (18:12):
I didn't realize you had said that. That was one of the
biggest places where there was avariety of trees or something
like

Nick (18:18):
a huge variety of trees in between the pines and the
maples, oaks and the like. Itwas absolutely insane. The
Adirondack Mountains in the fall100% did not fucking let us
down. No, not at all. And I knowthat you go at different times

(18:38):
of the year and you may not seewhat we say. But I will tell

Nancy (18:41):
you right pictures are real that I see. The pictures
are real. Yeah, it's crazy. It'sjust beautiful. It's absolutely

Nick (18:50):
insane. Yeah, we are stoked. I'm like driving pretty
much what a hard on the wholetime

Unknown (18:56):
Oh, okay. Well I don't know that guys all right. Well,
yeah, youyou knew oh yeah my TMI that
safety on my team.

Nick (19:05):
Too much and Oh, again, anyway, we're literally driving
through this and we're just I'mtelling you guys that around
every fucking corner seriously.
Yeah, there's a differentpicture. It was a pretty
spiritual fucking moment. Ithink my whole body calm down.
It almost felt like we're herelike, like, this is what we act

(19:26):
the expectation of what it was Iwas absolutely mad. And I'll be
honest with expectations likethis is some of the shit we
learned. Right? We feel that ourexpectations are too much for
things we feel that we're we'veconsistently obviously but let
down from our expectation thatpeople letting us down right but

(19:47):
what we expect something to beand I'll tell you what, this was
one thing that I wanted, so badfor you. Because this one is
something that we've talkedabout for years of doing. And I
love to see it. I experiencedit. And I feel selfish saying

(20:07):
that. But I wanted this to be anand I'll tell you what, when we
got to the tops of some of thosehikes, I got to those Summit.
And you, it's like your wholebody just went limp. Like, you
were so happy. And it was inyour body, your whole face

(20:27):
everything, just like any kindof stress or, like lit I get
literally see it just leavingyour body it was. And let me
tell you, you guys just so youknow, we're not in the best
shape of our lives. And we'retrying to do that with what
we're doing now. We haven'tlived the healthiest fucking
lives. Now we're trying to dothe best we can right now with

(20:50):
what we have. And we are doingit. That's partly how we got to
the top of these fucking peaksin the summits that we claimed.
That takes everybody else 45minutes, but takes us fucking an
hour and a half. But the bottomline is to see it in the hands.
I'll just say it because you'reyou know, first of all, we're

(21:11):
dealing with your knees aren'tthat great? Your confidence of
walking up or down these hills?
Isn't that great? Because yourbalance is shot. Let's say it
like it is right. Then for me togo up to these hills in these
mountains in the summit's isn'tof itself a feat not because I
physically can't do it. Butbecause my mind blocks me, just

(21:36):
because I'm not always living inthe moment, right? I'm always
thinking, Okay, I have to haveall the right gear in my
backpack I have to have, what ifthis happens, okay, I'm climbing
up the hill. Now if thishappens, we need to be able to
do this. How do I have signal ifI have to call for help? How
many people are going to be on?
Its if mine is alwaysconsistently going. And these
are things that I'm learningthat I'm so fucked up. When it

(21:58):
comes to being in control andtrying to think of the best
scenario possible. And I knowI'm getting off on a little
tangent, the best scenario isright there in front of you,
right. It's just taken themoment Yeah, and I will tell you
guys that one thing I'velearned. God damn, if you don't
take in the moment right, thenit's going to fucking pass you

(22:18):
by.

Nancy (22:21):
Well, the nice thing I have to say the nice thing as
you're driving through themountains, there's all these
different heights and steps thatyou can do. Hundreds The nice
thing about the first one we didI forget how many whatever it
was like

Nick (22:36):
an elevation of 500. It wasn't huge. No, but Rocky
Mountain some

Nancy (22:41):
very steep all rocky like this is true, true hiking, not
you know, your little pavedareas, you're making your areas
around as you go. But you haveno choice. I mean, you have a
choice of whether you want to goup or not. But if you want to
see what the end is and see raneverything you have to go so you

(23:04):
don't have time to be thinkingabout anything else. My thing
was getting up there. So I mean, you I was on my hands. And I
mean, I'm like going out therelike

Nick (23:15):
literally when we got to the summit of Lookout Mountain
dude, that last 50 feet, you'recrawling. Oh yeah, there's
nothing you got to crawl up therock. It's sheer rock like you
you literally have to crawl upand put your feet and you did
it. And we're literally crawlinglike a fucking monkey. Like it
was hilarious dude, like shesaid to me this time and I think
it's fucking awesome. She'slike, No, let me let me do this.

(23:36):
Because of course I'm thinkingokay, if she hurts her knee if
she did like, that's where mymind unfortunately even going up
to the top of the summit. Butobviously once we got up there,
it was amazing. It was justunbelievable. Like

Unknown (23:52):
the treat so you could see all these

Nick (23:54):
different colors and the the you're on top of the world
and for miles and miles andmiles literally for miles. You
see nothing but color color.
That's it. It's so fuckingstunning you guys and that's

Unknown (24:11):
why I say the wires and you know all that whole journey
no interference once

Nick (24:15):
you get to the top you guys you got to just keep
fucking climbing and that's partof what our whole theme is here
with this is to share thesethings with you but always the
lessons that we're also learningthe fun about it and what it is
but the lessons that we'relearning and this is just like
the leaves right we've had abunch of people that were on our

(24:36):
Facebook page that were like, the color at peak or where's it
at bla bla bla and and even fromall the locals they were just
saying like look, this is theprobably one of the last
weekend's shits gonna start toget real in leaves. They're
going to start to fall.

Nancy (24:51):
Don't you remember? Like we're walking that one that was
like, supposedly two miles andit took us like six miles and
the leaves were literallyalready falling on the ground.
It's pretty simple. Yeah,

Nick (25:03):
but those leaves are gonna fall off. And we'll never see
what we saw again. And what Imean by that is, yeah, we may go
back and see what we experiencedright at that moment. Yeah,
we'll never experience again.
And it's like, you've got to gothrough what you're going
through, get to the fucking topand see the fucking beauty in
any lesson or whatever. It washard. Don't get me wrong. Yeah,

(25:24):
out of breath, and you got tostop and it's hard and you're
literally getting muddy andclimbing and crawling your way
up to the top. But yet when weyou got up there, it didn't
fucking matter.

Unknown (25:36):
No, I just lay down that

Nick (25:38):
she literally laid on the fucking top right at the edge
and I'm like, Oh my god. Okay,so she falls down the fucking
dude, just seriously, so fuckedup. And I'll tell you, I need
help. I need help. If there'sanybody who ever listens to this
that can sort of help me I wouldappreciate it but I definitely
need help. Because I'm always onthat fucking roller coaster. It
was awesome. I don't know whatdo you think we're good to go?

(26:01):
Go on to the next one, which wasso we did the Adirondacks and we
stayed in inland Yeah, we didrocky mountain summit and we did
this walk that was supposed tobe around cascade Lake. That was
supposed to be like a two and ahalf mile thing that some
waterfall wound up taking us.
Six fucking miles. Almost. It'sover seven miles that day. And
the funny thing was literallyNancy, towards the end, the last
mile and a half or so. She'sliterally dragging her fucking

(26:26):
feet. I couldn't do it anymore.
Now you got to do it. Because II just I'm so tired.

Nancy (26:37):
Like so exhausted. Like she was robbing I was just like,

Nick (26:43):
I'm like, come on next week. She's like, What the fuck
am I doing? That don't get mewrong. It was a long walk. It
was fucked up. Don't Don't evenget me wrong about that. But oh
my god she is fuckingexaggerates like insane into and
then she just gets pissed. Youdon't want to be around her. She
gets all fucking nasty. I'mtrying to like perk her up. And

(27:04):
I'm like, Come on, let like weonly have and she's like,
exhausted. Like, I'm like JesusChrist and just

Unknown (27:12):
exhausted dude. But then we got to the car and we
went on.

Nick (27:15):
So then I'm like, when we get to the car, sit down on the
back. And just sort of stretchwhatever she got into the seat.
She's like, I just want to sithere and give me water. Give me
water like as like what thefuck? Like, like I'm a fucking
water boy. And just JesusChrist. You are want to do
everything yourself. Climb a bigmountain, but you're so fucking
Jesus, man. Anyways, so we windup getting back. We wind up

(27:39):
getting back. That was our lastday. inland, inland and old
forge just by the way, havethese this coffee shop?

Nancy (27:48):
Line coffee. Shout out to that.

Nick (27:51):
You guys, because I'll tell you what, that fucking
place was awesome. Yeah. Theservers behind the fucking
counters. The fucking the placeitself? Do they teach their
people right above? We're, we'redown on a lot of customer
services. But this one was justfucking pretty good. Coffee was
good. The atmosphere was cool.
So you guys in the Adirondacks,if you're an old Forge, or

(28:14):
inlet, check out blue linecoffee because that place was
awesome. And then after that wewent up to so then we get up in
the morning and we travel up.
We're traveling up toWilmington, New York, right
outside Lake Placid.

Nancy (28:28):
Sit in another Airbnb there.

Nick (28:30):
We're staying at another Airbnb. Unfortunately, with this
one, luxury, you got to rememberthat there's two of us and
there's not many really smallplaces specific to where we want
to go. This was like a threebedroom home that sleeps 10
people we usually stay these bigas home. There's just two of us.
Well, what we look for is a kingsize bed. That's the bad thing.

(28:50):
Yeah, that's the key. It's notso much the size of the thing if
it has a king size bed becausewe're used to sleeping in. And
oh my god, dude, that was theday that we just drive up and
we're taking our time. Nancywakes up the next morning from
the day before his fuckingretired. I have to say that I'm
a bit exhausted from the daybefore. There was no doubt about

(29:13):
it. So we're like, we're justgonna drive and see the
different places. So anyway, wewind up in Lake Placid.

Unknown (29:19):
Yes.

Nick (29:22):
I didn't really. I mean, I knew what Lake Placid was, but I
didn't realize that theyliterally had for the Olympics
like they train there and do Iwas it 1982 Or what was whatever
the Olympics were in LakePlacid. Cool little town. Yeah.
Your typical ski town maybe?
Yeah. Because, you know, therewas a lot of snow. They

Nancy (29:41):
remind me of Vail, Colorado. Like it was very.
Yeah.

Nick (29:45):
Sort of ski ish like that.
Yeah, yeah. But I will tell youback to the food

Unknown (29:49):
starving,

Nick (29:50):
dude, we're driving all day. We get walking down. And
it's so weird because likeusually when you see a
restaurant you see a steakhouse.
Are you see a Mexican placewhere you see? Well as you're
walking down the street andfailed, they have a couple
different restaurants. First ofall, they don't look like
anything special. No, not atall. I wanted to steak. I'm
like, I want to fucking steak. Iwant a food. You want to food. I

(30:14):
wanted to steak. You wantedfood. We're passing by these
different places. And you lookat the menu in the window and
it's got like, pizza, andsteaks, and pasta, and I'm like
a duck and like, what? Andfucking chicken nuggets. I'm
like, how are they doinganything good at this place.
Like it's all over. But Irealized that they're also doing

(30:36):
it because there's kids andthey're trying to guess, the
family. Anyway, we stop this oneplace called Jimmy's 21.

Unknown (30:46):
Shout out to Jimmy's 21

Nick (30:48):
Shout out to Jimmy's 21 Let me tell you, we walked in
this place and we actuallywalked in and then we're like,
add let's leave because the guyseemed like an asshole. Yeah,
little he did. He seemed likethis little but the police seem
cool. And they had outdoorseating that guy on Lake Placid.
So you know what, let's justwalk back in and get his table.
Let me tell you guys, just likethe fucking doors opened up to

(31:11):
heaven. In the Adirondacks withthe color. The culinary fucking
Gods opened up their doors andsent the steak straight down the
tube to my table. No, let metell you, dude, I got the New
York strip steak. Medium withasparagus in the mashed
potatoes. they top it with this.
This sort of I don't know whatthey call she just literally

(31:35):
smacked me in the fucking backof the head. Because I had a
mosquito. So if you guys heard athunk is because she literally
almost,

Unknown (31:45):
you know, throat punch to Oh my god.

Nick (31:48):
Anyway. Thank you guys.
was fucking unbelievable. Andthat's all I can say. If you're
in Lake Placid stop at Jimmy's21 and get chicken strip steak
with the crispy onions on topand mushrooms with the mashed
potatoes and asparagus. For me,by the way. Next night. We went

(32:10):
there again. It was that fuckinggood. And I got the same fucking
steak. The guy even said, oh,yeah, so you want the 12 ounce
steak done the ribeye styleblah, blah, blah, blah, blah. He
goes, I remember you guys.

Unknown (32:23):
But that appetizer was good. The burrata. Ah, that was
good.

Nick (32:27):
It was like a creamy fucking mozzarella with some
greens. With what are thosetomato, sun dried tomatoes with
the vinegar with vinaigrettelike balsamic vinegar.

Unknown (32:38):
I think we're hungry.
But we

Nick (32:41):
say we're going to talk about these places. And that
place was fucking Excellent. Sothe whole idea behind this trip
you guys was we experiencedsomething completely different.
But I have to say, once thedoors of heaven opened up to the
colors in the AdirondackMountains. I literally just was
so grateful. And became in themoment. I personally will

(33:07):
remember the moment but not keepit like necessarily. It's gone.
It's gone already. And I'm happyto have had it and I'm happy to
have experienced it. But for me,I'm just looking forward to the
next thing.

Nancy (33:19):
Well, yeah, I mean, it's a try two different things. I
mean, then we went up to themountain. What was that called

Nick (33:24):
to Whiteface Mountain, which again, me, the fucking
navigator thought that on ourway back out of the Adirondacks,
we were gonna go up throughWhiteface mountain and come back
down into the side towardsCanada. We wind up saying, Yeah,
let's just go check outWhiteface mountain today. We'll
go back up. Oh my god, you guys.
We get to the fucking entranceof Whiteface mountain. They have

(33:49):
to understand Whiteface Mountainis 5000 I think close to 5000
feet is is at its peak. Not verylarge compared to peaks in
Colorado. But for what it is thecolors and the colors again,
unbelievable. So you have to paya toll and it's complete
straight uphill. 5000 feet, you're driving uphill. Five

(34:12):
miles straight uphill. 5000feet, no stopping. You have
people behind you. I mean, youhave all these lookouts that you
can pull out there's lookouts.
Yeah. Remember, I'm not a hugeperson on heights. I don't
necessarily like

Unknown (34:27):
it. No, no, no, you do not.

Nick (34:29):
I have to say that going up the mountain was a bit
fidgety but peaceful at the sametime.

Unknown (34:35):
Like you were going up the sky.

Nick (34:37):
It was incredible. It was and we get to the top of this
fucking mountain and it ends youcan't go through.

Unknown (34:46):
Holy for you looking at a map was I

Nick (34:49):
looking? Literally it stops. It stops at the top of
the fucking mountain to acastle. Yes. That then it
doesn't end. You have to walkGot the 300 foot tunnel?

Unknown (35:01):
Well unless you want to hike it up unless you want to
like that

Nick (35:04):
which we had been done hiking, you can walk up a 300
foot tunnel that goes like onthis incline to an elevator with
another 227 stories, literallyand me what heights fuck you Oh

Nancy (35:18):
height and control issue that you have like Wait who's
controlling this elevator andthere's only what five people
that can be on this only

Nick (35:25):
five people could give me elevator inside this mountain.
It was crazy 27 stories, I getin there with much reservation,
we get to the top crazy.

Unknown (35:36):
The brain got wind and the colors in those. It's just I
don't

Nick (35:41):
know if you guys have been able in your lifetime to
experience something to almosttake your breath away because I
don't want to be like, it tookmy breath away. It wasn't like
that. I'm still breathing. Whatit did do. I felt so small, like
like nothing that I tried tocontrol or do actually. Yeah,
because it was absolutelyfucking incredibly insightful.

Nancy (36:02):
It was it was I mean, if anything, this trip really made
us do things that we normallydon't do. Whether it be the
hike, the were you to absolutelyno going up the elevator, I
mean, all these different thingsthat we did and the stars let's
mention the stars.

Nick (36:18):
And I'll tell you one thing. Not only does Google lie,
but like the history of theAdirondacks, blah blah blah. One
thing I read is there's not manydeer in the Adirondacks. But
there's over 4000 Black Bear andfucking moose lie. We didn't see
one fucking moose. We didn't seeone bear but all I saw was
fucking deer. I don't need tosee deer. I see deer wherever I

(36:39):
go. I went to the AdirondackMountains to see bear or moose.
And I saw a fucking deer. Andthe funny thing about these
deers are not even normal deerstand on the side of the road to
lick you know lob, like deer.
Deer. They're like stray animalsjust on the side of the road
that just they'll hop in yourcar if they want if you want
them it was it was fun. Ohweird. Anyway, we enjoy you guys

(37:01):
listening to our rants and whatwe're learning along the way and
sort of our adventures and wewant to bring you guys along
with all of these but be sure tolike this, please give us a
review. Like Subscribe, I guessall that kind of shit. Yes,
we're not big on some of that.
But we do want to get out thereand we want you guys to enjoy
it. If you guys do that for us,we appreciate it when the Niagra

(37:24):
right now, so I think we'll talkabout Niagara Falls and in our
way home

Unknown (37:28):
and on the way home on the way home. Alright guys,

Nick (37:31):
enjoy it. We'll talk to you later. Bye
