Fearless Films Podcast is a weekly show where we walk through horror movies, breaking down the beats, discussing the lore and interesting trivia of all the best (and worst) in the horror movie genre. The show started as Pete, the horror buff, explaining the plots of horror movies to Kevin, the scaredy cat, who hates being scared but is intrigued by these modern mythologies. Kevin eventually retired from the podcast, but the show goes on! Pete is now joined by Sarah, who also loves horror movies, and they continue the tradition of explaining the scariest stories to all the scaredy cats out there, so they don't have to watch the movies.
"Let's Encyclopedia Brown this bitch!"
This week, Pete talks us through one of his favorite movies of all time, Stephen King's 1408. This 2007 film tells the story of a jaded horror author who checks in to the most haunted room in New York's Dolphin Hotel, only to find out that the stories are true, and he may never get out alive. Who will win? The stubborn alcoholic writer, or the infinite patience of a shapeless ev...
It's based on a book, it's got a white woman solving a mystery, it features the teachings of 18th-century theologian Emanuel Swedenborg! It's the Netflix original, Things Seen and Heard!
Sarah takes us through this 2021 film (which takes places in the 80's) about a family moving into an old home in upstate New York. Weird things start happening, the husband doesn't believe the wife and is dismissive of her, and a tow...
A 2000's remake of a William Castle classic starring a bunch of people not known for horror. If I had a nickel for every time that happened I would have two nickels! And this one is for Thirteen Ghosts!
Pete takes us through the story of a grieving family that learns they have inherited a steampunk mansion from their estranged, ghost-hunting uncle. What should be their rescue from poverty and despair quickly becomes ...
Dangerous imaginary friends, precocious little kids, and dark secrets from the past; that's a recipe for 2016's Lights Out!
This week, Sarah walks us through this exciting horror flick that was actually expanded from a hugely popular short film from director David Sandberg. It tells the story of a family with a complicated and troubled history being haunted by a dangerous entity that can only exist in pure darkness. ...
Equal parts horror, comedy, homage, satire, gorefest, and anthology. That's the formula for 1988's Waxwork.
When a group of yuppie college kids get invited to a private midnight showing at a new Waxwork, they are surprised to find that the exhibits are more interactive than they seem. Each scene of horrific violence is actually a portal to a pocket dimension where the most depraved souls in history reenact their most...
Two feral children living in the woods, a mysterious entity watching over them, and a punk rock Jessica Chastain. That's how you make the 2013 film, Mama!
When Jaime Lannister finds his missing nieces (who have been surviving in the woods for five years), him and his girlfriend, Beverly Marsh, take them in and try to care for them. However, a strange ghost-like figure the girls call Mama is overprotective of them and...
What do you get when Stephen Spielberg wants to produce a blockbuster-style horror movie with Jan de Bont directing? You get 1999's The Haunting!
Based on the famous Shirley Jackson novel, The Haunting of Hill House, this incredibly 90's film follows a troubled woman invited to a sleep study at a spooky old haunted house in western Massachusetts. The reality, however, is that the doctor conducting the study is really...
Finally an exorcism movie that does not follow the exact same formula as all the rest! That's right, we are talking about 2022's Prey for the Devil.
Sarah talks us through this exciting tale about a nun who is allowed to observe the exorcism training school of the Catholic Church. It's kind of like the X-men school for Gifted Youngsters, but normal people fighting the devil instead of mutants. The nun assists on a ca...
Wait a second. Didn't we already cover a movie called The Nun, about an evil spirit in a habit that kills people in Europe?? There is more than one movie with that premise!? And it's not even in the same franchise!?
That's right folks, this week we are not discussing anything related to the Conjuring Universe or any Blumhouse production. Pete is covering the early 2000's Spanish-produced but English-speaking "T...
This week, we've got another Mike Flanagan classic. It is 2016's, Before I Wake!
Sarah takes us through this modern fantasy tale about a grieving couple who adopts a young boy with a tragic past. Soon, the boys dreams begin manifesting into beautiful illusions in the waking world. However, things take a dark turn when the dreams become nightmares. No one is safe, sleeping or awake, from the horrifying Canker Man, a m...
Happy St. Patrick's Day, Fearless Fans!! What's better than another hilarious entry in the Leprechaun franchise? How about one where the titular character has no dialogue, no personality, and no magical powers??
Wait a second, that sounds terrible.
This week, Pete walks us through the lowest rated film in the Leprechaun franchise (and that's saying something), Leprechaun Origins. Its a generic slasher about a group of...
Who would have thought that A-Lister Sandra Bullock would star in a straight to streaming horror movie, and it would be seen as a successful move for her career!?
This week, Sarah walks us through the Netflix gem that is 2018's Bird Box. When a global plague of formless entities that cause suicidal madness at mere sight kicks off the apocalypse, a pregnant woman finds shelter with a group of survivors. They must figu...

Fearless Films goes musical!
This week, Sarah takes us through the 2000's rock opera known as Repo! The Genetic Opera. Set in a dystopian future where an epidemic of organ failures has caused engineered specialty replacement organs to become the new fashionable trend. Citizens are addicted to surgery and chasing the fads of "designer organs". But if they can't make their payments, assassins known as the Repo Men will...
This week, Pete serves up the delicious meal that is 1999's Ravenous! This quirky horror-comedy western film depicts a squad of soldiers manning a lonely mountain fort in the 1800's. When a mysterious stranger arrives one night, things take a turn for the worse as madness and death run rampant through the camp. How far are you willing to go to survive? What horrors could you stomach just to stay alive?

Judd Nelson is back and he is still a monster in this week's entry, a Lifetime movie called The Girl in the Basement!
Sarah takes us through this domestic horror film that is sickeningly based on true events. A family man holds his daughter captive in his secret basement dungeon for many years and father's multiple children with her. This entire movie is basically a two hour trigger warning.
Join us as we discuss too ...
