Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome to your Diary episode. Here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I'm a bit of a nomad, so these episodes come
to from wherever I'm living or traveling to at the time,
so I'll share with you what's going on in my world,
from book tours, animal encounters, delish meals, nature adventures, health
discoveries to swimming in Hidden Byron Bay Beaches. Come with

(00:25):
me as I share my adventures with you. Hello, Pod Diary,
coming to you a day late because I'm coming to
you live from the Motley Hotel in Richmond.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
We are doing I guess you would.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Call it an influencer stay, but I wanted to record
a pot of Bouni from here too. It's this incredible
hotel on Bridge Road in Richmond. Thank you to the
lovely Rage for hooking us up with this room for
the next couple of nights. So that is the reason
why I getting your pot a little bit late, because
I wanted to time it in with the hotels day.
It's such a good spot for meetings. Also, I literally

(01:06):
went to a Bombers match at the mcg today and
just Dad and I just walk to the hotel after
and of course Dad, being the sticky beak that he
is was like, oh oh, I'll come up and have
a quick peruse. He also approved as well, So thank
you for having us love it for you the listener.

(01:27):
Check out the Motley Hotel in Richmond. I haven't done
a hotel influenced a deal in Yonks and I forgot
how fun it is. And we've got a balcony too
that looks down you know, all of Richmond and Bridge Road.
So excited to spend our last couple of days in
Melbourne here. Cannot wait. So the week that was this

(01:48):
is a Melbourne diary. We've been in Melbourne for the
last week, to be honest. We were both Matt and
I were just saying we're kind of a bit spent
and exhausted because we have just really been catching up
with so many people and trying to get so much done.
But I have a highlights list of all the stuff
that we've done in the last week, so I don't

(02:08):
forget anything. I am going to work backwards because this
stuff is preshous in my mind. So I'm going to
start with going to start with Noel Smith at the
football today.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
So Dad is.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
An avid Bombers fan, so that's Essendon. For those that
don't know much about AFL footy, it's a big it's
a style of footy. It's massive Victoria, but it's all
over Australia to my American fam.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
I was gonna say fans, but fam.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
And I was born on a preliminary Grand Final day
or a preliminary final day and Dad had to give
away his ticket to come to the hospital for my birth,
which is why he said. You know, Mum has always
said that my brother Tristan and I were indoctrinated from
a young age. But the funniest thing about going to
the foot of my dad and I haven't done it
if we figured out for about nine years, so long overdue.

(03:00):
Oneiest thing is for anyone that knows Noel Smith and
sorry Dad, if you listen to this, you're probably gonna
feel like I'm throwing you under a bus here.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
But Dad's quite gentle.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
He's very sweet, happy, go lucky, kind of sweet chilled soul.
But you put him in an Essenon football match and
this is literally I'm gonna have to hold the mic
away from my face as I do an impersonation of
my dad. I don't know the Essenon players, but I'm
going to look some names up so that I can
do this justice. It is the funniest thing. So he

(03:30):
gets so excited. He has his two jam donuts on
the outside. He hoovers them down before he even steps
foot in the stadium because he likes the donuts from
the outside of the stadium more than the donuts inside.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
The same.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Actually, I noticed that inside the stadium the coffee. You're
gonna love this boot. Matt's standing next to me. The
coffee is industry beans spectacular.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
I thought you'd approve of that.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Actually, there's like an because he took me. He's an
mc g member, so he took me in the members
which is all very swish.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
But he took me to the library. It was great.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Essendon turn forty players' names, like he. Dad is so
passionate Essen forty players. Okay, here we go. Here's the list.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
All right, Okay, I've got him here Stein, Browser Okay.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Yep, Zach Merritt, Merrit, he really liked him, Langford Okay.
So this is me is giving example. None of these
players were like good, bad, or indifferent. That said, the
Bombers did get thrashed. Now, Dad sweet doesn't rock the boat.
Gentle Dad literally goes from that to this.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Okay, hang on, let me all get one of the
names Magrath, Come on, McGrath, what are you doing?

Speaker 2 (04:41):
The conditions are fantastic out there, and look at you
dropping the bat.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Oh this is ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Oh this team hasn't won since twoy twenty five years.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
I don't think they'll win a get in my lifetime.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Literally literally, that is my dad, not for like half
the match. I'm talking the whole match, and then by
the end, because Adelaide Crows beaters. By the end, he
was like, the Crows that get a goal, Well that's
a great.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Goal, isn't it. Well that's a good gal. Can't complain
about that.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
And he befriends everybody sitting around him and he just like,
well they all know about the history of every single play.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Oh, how could they do that.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
They're on a seven year contract, they're getting paid so well, look,
slippery fingers dropping the ball, no reason drop the ball,
no rain today, perfect day, perfect conditions out there.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Hilarious.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
So I know Dad's mum, Bev Grandma, who's no longer
with us now, was similar, very passionate about football, very
gentle and meek in normal times, but in a popper
in a footy stadium mcg and I think it was
passion passionate plus plus so very funny.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Dad.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
If you hear this, thank you for taking me. I
had a wonderful with you. You cracked me up. Very funny.
And my uncle Peter was working there as well, so
it was so fun. I got to see Uncle Peter,
the boys got to commiserate together.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Funny. Okay. So before getting back to.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Malbs today, the Boss and I had spent the last
couple of days in Dalsford visiting Mum. She's got this
amazing farm. She's got sheep. I believe they're called suffolk sheep.
There's Stevie and Luis that are literally like dogs that
she no joke, walks on a lead. If you want
to see this and don't believe me, it's on my
highlights reel from the Aussie trip. We did a bit

(06:35):
of Yellowstone viewing at night. We also watched this George
Clooney movie called good Night, Good Luck because Mum really
wants to see it on Broadway and it is currently
on Broadway in New York and George Clooney is starring
in a different role. He played different role in the
movie which I think he wrote, and then he adapted
it for Broadway. And Mum's planning out a full Americano

(06:59):
journey for late in the years, so there was a
lot of planning going on for that. Boss so and
I had a couple of coffee dates, filled up our
bottles of water with Dalsford or sorry hepburn spring water,
which is really good getting all the healthy water in. Oh,
Boss got a bit of bts sound there are you
doing a bit of work?

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Oh, he's gonna read it up. Blow this potteroony.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
What else do we We discovered this amazing new apocket
theory in Dalsford.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
I'm just going to look up the name of it.
What was it called Boss Aniki.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
And it was really cool in Dalsford on the main drag,
which I believe is called Vincent Street, and it was
so lovely. Yeah Aniki, and they had all these amazing
skin oils and whatnot. But I got a blue Lotus
latte on coconut milk which is all about opening the

(07:54):
heart shark and had frankensense in it. And Boss got
a medicinal mushroom late like coffee late and that had
like quarterseps, chunga raichi and lion's.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Mane in it. Really nice.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
We really want to go back today, but we left
quite early and they weren't open yet.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
What else do we do? In Dale'sford?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
We went to a place called Blake's and just had
a little coffee date there, id to Kim Butch and
we went for Yeah, some nature walks. All lots of kangaroos,
cockatoos obviously the sheep. What else what other animals did
we see? Oh? Well, she's got lots of wood ducks
in the area as well. She's got chickens, guinea fowl,

(08:38):
guinea fowl named Earl. Yeah, so lots of fun, lots
of you're waking up to, like birds singing, and lots
of nature vibes.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Really nice and relaxing.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Although Mom doesn't stop and so she's go, go, go, go,
go to nature. I've probably got that from her if
I'm honest. Okay, so let's look at what else I
have done in the week. I also have had a
day at the start of the week doing podcasts, which
was so much fun. So the ipodcasted I think my

(09:09):
record of all episodes is five back to back in
a day, and that happened on Monday. So basically I
record with iheartarn That's who the Potter Rooney is with,
and I love them and they're amazing. Shout out, Claire,
You're unreal. And I'm just getting my I've got a
whole highlight reel of all of this on my phone

(09:31):
and that's how I'm going through.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Here we go. Here's all the guests. Okay, So I got.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
In at like eight am podcasted. I interviewed an incredible
actress named Maria. I then interviewed this unreal banana peal
business go getter who's twenty eight years old and set
up three multimillion dollar companies he's and created.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
His name's Noah Hunter Dorsey.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Then I had David the Medium back on, and I
had this other amazing author called and her. She was
teaching me all about introverts, and she was blown away
to know that I'm actually an introvert. She called me
a high masking introvert. So I'm good at like having
conversations and stuff, even though I'm actually a terrible intro

(10:17):
Like I get really uncomfortable in social situations, whether it's
big groups.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
I also got my hair done.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
I went back to Frank at Bieber in Gertrude Street.
He's the best cutter in the world. He's been cutting
my hair on and off because obviously I've lived in
all these crazy places, but since I was thirteen, he's unreal.
And there's an amazing colorist there called James or Jimmy
as well. But obviously I've got black hair at the moment,
so I just get it done in LA and then
Frank cut it for me. I did two days of

(10:44):
acting school, which was so much fun at sixteenth Street
Actors Studio that is in Corefield in Malbs.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
That was unreal. So I worked on two scenes.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
With my coach, and then I stayed and audited some
classes as well, which was so much fun, and the
same the next day stayed and audited some classes. I've
done some coffee dates with the Bossacengo Number nineteen We Love,
which is in Ascot Valnied Dad had some time with Chet,
which is Dad's pooch. We've also been to Terror Twilight twice,

(11:18):
which is I think probably my favorite cafe in Molbs.
It's in Collingwood and I got I've been dreaming about
these these gluten free sweet potato pancakes with like a
black forest berry compot thing on top, and then this labner.
Oh it was so good again. Just watch my Aussie
Trip highlight really if you want to see it. It's

(11:39):
so so good. I also went on a pod this
week as a guest. I went on Nacaren Gergos's pod.
That was a lot of fun, really quick like the pod,
I think I was ten minutes early. The pod started
at ten. I got there the same time as Nat
rock on up the stairs. They set up for maybe
five minutes. Boom, we recorded forty minute record very quick.

(12:01):
And then Dalessford yep, so you've seen all the Dalesford stuff.
It was pouring down when we got to Dale's Web,
but it was so beautiful. And then yesterday was super chill,
so yeah, we've had a pretty big day. And then
this week on the pod, beautiful actress Andrea Bandworld. I
just want to make sure I'm saying yes. Nail, the

(12:23):
name I call her Dre was on the pod and
she is flipping unreal. She talks about circling and runs
all these incredible women's circles. She also talks about acting
and her journey in sitcoms.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
She'd Suddenly Susan.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
She also guest starred on Seinfould and Friends and just
talks about the golden age of sitcoms, because as you know,
I love sitcoms and that's a big dream of mine
as well. And she was just so warm and lovely
and kind and it was so nice to sit down
with her. That was the last episode I recorded in
Los Angeles before jumping on a plane to Australia. So

(13:02):
the episodes now that you'll hear have all been recorded,
whether it be Sydney or Malbs, but they've all been
recorded in Australia. So Monday's episode, which will come out
Monday Australia time, will be one of the Assie epps.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
I'm thinking if if I can get my.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
At my Organization shoes on, it'll probably be David the
Medium because it was his birthday when we recorded as well,
and so it was a special birthday yep for him,
So it'd be really nice to bring out his app
But it all depends on how quickly I can do
all the intros, so you know, we'll focus on that.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Oh that was the other person I also had. I
also had.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Michelle Brazier on the pod too, who's a comedian actress,
super talented, super lovely.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
She was on the pod in Malbs as well. So
there's been lots going on.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
We've got a brecky with our mate Rach tomorrow, we'll
see Matt's family tomorrow. We're about to go to dinner
with our friends Bill tonight, and we fly out Monday.
So when I say fly out, we go to Byron
and we're going to end this trip in Byron Bay
before returning back to Americana. So lots of fun. We're

(14:14):
still feeling really really go go go go, and so
I'm hoping when we get to Byron we can just
kind of like ground a little bit and slow. And
I've got a really exciting project in America I'm pumped for,
so I want to make sure I'm learning my lines
for that. So yeah, I'm really excited about the next

(14:36):
thing's coming. I have had such a wonderful time in Malbs.
We definitely what we both just said, we want to
figure it out where we're less like you know that
go go go go go chasing our tails. We want
to figure out next time how to do it. So
we're less exhausted, I guess. But it's been so much
fun to see everybody, to everybody that's made an effort

(14:57):
to catch up with us, thank you so much, so
much much fun, so nice, And I am prepping. I've
got two big pods in Byron next week, one in
person and one with an American guest and which is
really exciting slash scary, and they'll all be happening next week.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
So I'm reading. I'm ready.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
I've got to read two books in preparation for each
of them, which I'm pumped for.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
So big, big, busy.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Time, but an exciting time and really looking forward to. Yeah,
just the next chapter, the next little chunk. I feel
like this trip has been a really important one for us,
but also just like a really I think we're transforming
a bit. The boss and I would you agree?

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Boss?

Speaker 2 (15:50):
He said absolutely? Absolutely? All right, Well that was it.
I hope you had a nice listen to the diary.
I hope it was worth the Wait.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Who was it? The roach me and said, where's diary? Pot?

Speaker 2 (16:00):
I think his name was Matt. I'm just gonna give
you a shout out now, Matt, because I think that's
who it was. And I wanted to say it is
coming for you.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Where is he?

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Matt Man ninety one? This ep is came out twenty
four hours late. But for you, my friend, I hope
you like it, all right, gang, go and do the
stuff that you love. And yeah, go go chase that
flip and dream all right heoru Bye,
