fire rapid questions at one of our fearlessly failing guests.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
PS. I'm gonna be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
I'm not so good at the rapid part. I get
too intrigued by the awesome answers. Now a new app
is going to drop every Wednesday, so enjoy this shorter
style episode of Fearlessly Failing Hot Seat.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Okay, welcome to the hot seat. What is your name?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
It's Candice Fox and not of course.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Sweet or savory sweet? What would it be?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
I'm thinking banana split.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
I love a bit of banana bread. Yeah, lower hot,
warm banana bread with some butter on it.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
But I have a chocolate cupboard at home. It's just
got chocolate things in it. It's a whole cupboard, like
just like Cadbury stuff. H just Frito Frogs like, and
it's like Willie Wonka's chocolate factory on it. It's just
all one.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Sign me up.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Favorite city.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Oh, I should say Sydney because I live here. But La,
I love La. I got it. You know, I'm there,
moved there in a heartbeat.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Favorite nature spot, Favorite nature spot.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Oh god, there's a place near me and all the
locals call it the paddock and it's just a paddock
and it's near me, and all the people go there
with the dogs and my dog just runs around. Yeah,
she's like freedom, you know. But yeah, it's just it's
not like special. It's not beautiful. It's not a waterfall
(01:40):
or anything. It's just a paddock where all the neighbors
go and we go, hey, hey, are you going? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:46):
I love it? Nah, I love it. What's your favorite
thing about yourself?
Speaker 3 (01:52):
I'm brave, you are? Yeah, And I got that way.
It took hard work and pain to get that way.
Learn through pain.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yeah, I honestly think my biggest takeaway today is like,
think about it later, just do it.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Yeah. And if it's scary, yeah, just throw yourself in.
Get up there, Get up that ladder, get on the roof,
chase the possum, go underneath, write the book, throw it,
see if you can hit it, give it a go. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
What's your non negotiable?
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Oh I would have said never be late, but I
was bloody late here coming today. I sort of say,
ten minutes early is on time. On time is late? Oh?
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Really?
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Yeah, a lot of acting teachers say that to in
La the late. Yeah, they'll start if a class starts
at eleven, it starts at eleven, not eleven oh one,
and they'll be really like, yes, full on about that,
and they'll.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Kick you out of the class.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
It's respect for the person's time. And I just respected
you by being.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
No, it's city and it's the Sydney. Don't even oh
my god, don't even worry for a second.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Well, I just I never do that. I never I'm
never late. And the more nervous I am about something,
the earlier i'm there.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
I turned up to John to Thomas Jane's house for
coffee an hour and a half early, and I just
sat near a bush in his neighborhood that what if
he comes passed? And I'm like, oh, I'm just sitting
under a bush, no bloody two books down from your
house being nervous. Sorry, Oh no, that's weird.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
No.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
I love that. I love that. I think that's okay.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
This isn't a fair question to ask you, what's your
favorite book you've written.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
I love Devil's Kitchen. Devil's Kitchens about the firefighters.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
I haven't read Devil's Kitchen.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
So much fun. It's based on a crew of builders
that were building a deck on my house at and
they were just so much fun. I used to used
to go out the back and be like, fellows, what's
going on, what's going on? And I was so inspired
by them. They were like the they would make a
perfect TV show, these four guys.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
And the wife.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
I never told them, but the wife of one of
them read the book and she was like, that's my
husband and his crew. And she said to him that
author that you went and built the deck at their house.
They wrote a book about you. Mate.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
He was like, yeah, yeah, I'm picking that up when
I'm at the airport tomorrow. Thank you so much, Candice Fox.
I cannot wait to see what's next for you, and
I'll be cheering you on all Thank you for
