Los Angeles Actor Diary

Righto Fam!

I have a really exciting update for you… Something for the heath nerds and yogis!

But first things first, lets have a little wrap up of the week; I’ve been crook all week, fighting some kind of lurgy, so my days off have been spent in bed, eating copious amounts of chicken soup, handmade by the Bosso of course.

On the plus side, I’m slowly coming out of it, and the downtime has meant I’ve been able to chip away at my American taxes, which feel like learning a foreign language, its so different to back home in Australia.

So it’s safe to say, I haven’t done a single audition this week, but thats ok, I’d be no good to anyone sounding snotty.

Now for the exciting stuff, I’m running a yoga retreat in Joshua Tree in October with my mate Meg. It’s a 3 night, 4 day retreat in October. Thing, yoges, hiking, cacao ceremony, breath work, somatic movement, lovely nourishing food and that stunning Joshua Tree backdrop.

Imagine waking up to desert light streaming through your window, moving your body in a gentle morning yoga flow, sharing nourishing meals with a small, supportive group, and feeling your nervous system finally exhale.

This retreat is your permission slip to rest.

Join us in the magical landscape of Joshua Tree for a weekend designed with one intention: Rest and relax.

Life is full — sometimes overwhelmingly so. This retreat is our way of creating space for you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself without distraction.

We’ll weave together yoga, breathwork, connection, and the natural beauty of Joshua Tree to nourish your body, mind, and spirit. You’ll leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more grounded — with memories of laughter, stillness, and shared moments under the desert stars.

Your experience will be fully supported from the moment you arrive:

Daily yoga  flow +  yin to energize and restore
Somatic yoga  to tap into your nervous system and release
Breathwork to clear your mind and open your heart
Community hike through Joshua Tree’s breathtaking trails
Sauna & cold plunge contrast therapy for deep reset
Pool time — perfect for sunny afternoons or magical starlit swims
Cacao ceremony & sound bath to soothe your soul
Ample downtime to nap, journal, read, or simply be
Three nourishing meals per day — with love and intention

Here’s the link, if you’re interested, it’s on from October 2nd-5th and we will have day passes available too.

p.s I just pulled you an angel oracle card for today and here’s what you got: “Devine Magic: Extra magical energy surrounds your situation right now. Expect miracles.”

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome to your diary episode. Here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I'm a bit of a nomad, so these episodes come
to you from wherever I'm living or traveling to at
the time, so I'll share with you what's going on
in my world, from book tours, animal encounters, delish meals,
nature adventures, health discoveries to swimming in Hidden Byron Bay Beaches.

(00:25):
Come with me as I share my adventures with you.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Hello Potter, u fam Bamo.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
It's Friday, Well, Friday in Australia, Thursday in LA which
means it's Friday Diary time for anyone you playing along
at home. Every Friday, I do a diary about what's
going on. I'm an actor living in Los Angeles, which
is a part of the world that for a creative
can feel so inspiring and like anything is possible some

(00:55):
days and other days it feels like a beast and
like you're drowning every day. So this diary app is
essentially just.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
A truth.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I don't know that don want to use the word
truth bomb, but you know what I mean, Like, it's
just a true telling of the week that was as
an actor and podcaster here in La. Well, first things first,
straight out of the gate. I've had a lurgy all week,
haven't I just for my American friends, ALERGI as a
cold for my Aussie friends.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I figured you'd probably know what that is. And I
still have.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Been more hitt the yoga studio, so I haven't got
over it as quickly as I usually would.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
So still fight in the good fight.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Teaching tomorrow, teaching Saturday, so yinn tomorrow night, and then
power Saturday. So I've just kind of been in get
better mode work mode, and I've been doing my US tax.
Fun fact, if you are from another country and you're
an immigrant and you live in America, you don't have
to file your tax in January like everyone else. Well

(02:00):
it's always doing April, but jan is kind of when
it starts because they do their tax with calendar years.
You get to do it in October. You pay a
little bit of money, a little fee, and then you
do it in October.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
So that's me.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
So I've been doing all my US tax over the
last few days. But the lights at the end of
the tunnel, I think I've nearly finished it. I've just
got to convert stuff to USD all that kind of thing, right, Yeah,
So had a lurgs. That means I haven't been auditioning.
Truth be told, I've still been submitting a little bit,
but I haven't been going hard with trying to have

(02:33):
auditions or anything like that because I sound blocked up
and I already sound so Australian, but the moment that
you add the nasality of a cold, I think you
sound even more Aussy.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
So no point doing auditions.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Even though I love sounding Aussie, I don't really love
sounding like a sick Aussie, if you know what I mean,
unless it's called for. But the really cool thing that
I can talk to you about is that my friend
Meg and I are running a yoga at treat in
Joshua Tree in October and it's just gone live, so
it's called Return Retreat. We basically became mates from teaching

(03:10):
at the same yoga studio in LA and we just
got talking. We're like, fuck, we should run a retreat together.
We both teach power and yinn megs really into breath
work and somatic movement as well. Obviously like I've got
the nutrition background, and we were like this could be great.
So I know a huge percentage of people that listen

(03:31):
to this pod are Australian based, but to any of
my Americana friends, it's really good value. It's from the
second to the fifth of October in literal Joshua Tree,
like one of the days we hike through Joshua Tree
National Park. Like literally it's so stunning. I mean you
already know if you listen to this pod. The Boss

(03:52):
and I love going out to Joshua Tree. It's totally
our happy place and where we go. So that's happened
from the second to the fifth of October. Really cool
things like massage therapists coming in, hot cold therapy. We've
also got someone coming in to facilitate like a cow
ceremony and sound healing sound bath. So it's gonna be

(04:14):
a lot of fun and it's really just about rest
and relaxation. It's Meg was really clear with me. She
was like, I don't want it to be a hardcore detox.
I just want people to feel like they can really
return to themselves, hence the name Return Retreat. So it's
officially on sale now. I'm going to put a link
to have a squizzle at it in the show notes.

(04:36):
If you are so inclined, it's all in for my gain.
For all my Aussie listeners. It's all in USD It's
pretty good value and just to give you a little
taste of what to expect. Expect daily yoga both Flo
vignaserin Yan somatic yoga, and that's really about releasing the
nervous system.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
That's Mats, Mats, that's Meg's bag.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
I'm just what I've learned about somatic yoga movement is
through meg breath work. We're going to do a community
hike as a gang sauna, cold plunge, contrast therapy pool time.
There's a beautiful pool and jacuzzi, cacal ceremony and soundbath.
Meg really wanted lots of downtime for journaling, for just
like relaxing, because I'm a bit of a.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Like go go go, go go go.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
I might should do a nutrition gooss we do, like
you know, plan it out, and She's like, I actually
want people just to come back and kind of relax
and restore and give back themselves. So if this goes
really well, then we're hoping to do a more of
a detox style one at the very end of the year,
like after Christmas, after New Year, So maybe that beginning

(05:44):
of the New year vibe. So this is all about
slowing down, coming back to yourself and the caterer that
we've got on board. I have eaten their food before.
They're incredible, super super talented and beautiful. Food looks insane
and so clean, so healthy, obviously catering to diety restrictions

(06:06):
like gluten free, dairy free, leaning more into that kind
of plant based style of eating. So yeah, have a thing.
There's some really good jewel rooms. So if you did
it with a buddy, you know, fun times, fun, fun times.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
All right. So that's me, friends, and that's what I
want to tell you about.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
I want to tell you about the Yoke's Retreat coming
up in Joshua Tree. I also have my oracle cards.
Can you hear them?

Speaker 1 (06:33):
There? They are?

Speaker 2 (06:35):
So I want to pull, as always some oracle cards
and then I'm gonna send you on your merry way.
And what else I tell you? Oh my goodness, do
you know hold the strap yourselves? In this podcast, Fearlessly
Failing turns six in like eight days. What so, Boss

(06:56):
and I are doing a special Sick Years of the
Pod EP. It's gonna come out on Monday, but right
to me on insta if there's anything specifically you want
us to cover up. I'm gonna start planning the pod now.
We're gonna record it Sunday. But can you believe it?
Six years going?

Speaker 1 (07:16):
How cool? And we're at, like, how many EPs are
we at? We're over seven hundred. It's mental, I mean,
that's probably our mental. Let's be real.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yeah, Like Wednesday's episode, which came out a couple of
days ago, was episode seven hundred and forty six. This
episode you're listening to now is episode seven hundred and
forty seven. Three EEPs a week. It's been going for
literally six years. And I believe the twenty eighth of

(07:47):
August Cool that I launched in Virgo season being a Virgo,
love that for the pod, So this pod is a
Virgo also, of course, naturally, naturally, Matt and I actually
just spent some time today planning what we're gonna do
for our birthdays, because my birthday is the fourteenth or
September and his is the sixteenth.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
We had grand plans to.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Go to Montana and Wyoming because we're both obsessed with Yellowstone,
But I think we're just gonna wait to where there's
a bit more money in the kiddy and really like
just enjoy it and not be stressed and be like, ah,
gotta pay rent.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
You know.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
So I think we're planning a nice day trip to
somewhere like Laguna Beach or the OC, like a nice
little road trip, spend a day down there. And Matt
has got some fun ideas. So I think it's gonna
be really fun when that card feels like it wants
to come out. Okay, I'm shuffling the cards and then
you know the drill, past present.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Future, Okay, past present future, great.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Top of the deck, soulmate relationship. Well, I was just
talking about him was an oath Bosso new romance with
spiritual bias is here for you now, Bottom of the deck.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
What's your thoughts?

Speaker 2 (09:14):
It's important to only think about what you desire and
not what you fear.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Okay, past Oh love this? That would have been nice
for the future.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Can I say, treasure chest, an unforeseen windfall of new
abundance comes to you now, great present father healing. Your
personal power increases as you give any farther related issues
to heaven. That doesn't need to be your dad, FYI.
It could just be a masculine energy or figure in
your life could even be a boss.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
It could be anything future.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Oh love this really, get this card, break free, try
different ventures and experiences as a way to grow and learn.
And it's like this literal pick of a dolphin, just
like flying out of the ocean at sunset time or
sun rise. I would say that looks like sunset though,
and then the one that fell out of the deck.
Helpful person, someone wants to help you. Think of whom

(10:08):
it might be an initiate contact.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Love that, love that, love that, remember the rules with me. Oh,
take what serves you, ignore what doesn't.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
As you hear this in Australia, you've got full moon
in Virgo tonight, new mood in Virgo tomorrow. You know
the energy of Virgo. It's like lining shit up, getting
shit done, getting organized. But it's also about like tapping
into your cor de desire and being really like not
tough with yourself on it, but being really like, Okay,

(10:39):
come on, let's put our socks on, let's pull him up,
let's get shit done. I feel like that's Virgo energy
to me. So that is the energy I want to
leave you with Monday's episode. If you didn't get to
listen to it is with this incredible director, Josh Friedman.
We're actually about to head to see the screening of
the movie that I talked to him about on the pod.

(11:00):
They're Sad Building tonight. So literally after this pub goes live,
Boss and I'm gonna hang and chill for a couple
of hours and then we've got to putting ourselves up
and get ready. We're going to I've never been to
the Sag Building before other than walking past it or
driving past it. So going to a screening, I think,
at this beautiful special like Meryl Street screening room, how fun.

(11:22):
I'm so excited. Actually, I've got to say so pumped.
I just was thinking I'm gonna wear this beautiful red
dress with it. I was going to be access writers
at all with like black shoes, black bag, but I
just saw this gorgeous little pink bag. I love putting
pink with red, So I might use that tonight. We
will see well to see what happens. But yeah, that'll

(11:42):
be really really fun. If you haven't listened to the
ap yet, it is so good. If you're a creative,
you're gonna love it.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
So. Josh is a director writer.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
He directed and wrote and executive produced along with his
bestie Linda, this incredible movie called The Queen's Jewels.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
And that's what Boss and Night.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
We got to see a screener before I interviewed him,
of course, to understand like what I was asking, you know,
because it's all set in the Bahamas. It's a very
specific like adventure genre treasure style genre movie. But now
we get to watch it again. We get to see
it tonight in a special like it's a like industry screening,
is how I would describe it. Cannot wait all right, hooru,

(12:22):
hoo hoo reu. You're a flip and wonderful. Tap into
your in a Virgo to the Aussies listening to this
happy day one of Virgo season.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Let's get shit done.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
That is the Virgo wait, cross your t's dot your eyes,
get stuff done, be meticulous, focus on you. Virgos also
are really into self care and like looking after themselves,
so tap into that as well. I say that as
I've just had a little sneaky bit of Kara milk,
you know caramel, the Aussie chock. Well, our friend Linda
gave us some. I was like, this is the best

(12:52):
gift to give to an Australian because Australian chocolate is
better than American chocolate. There I said it, there I
said it better than Reese's butter cups. Or I don't
know what you meant to say. Anyway, big love hooru,
go out and do that stuff you love.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
