Welcome to fearlessly Failing Hot Seat. In this EPP, I
fire rapid questions at one of our fearlessly failing guests. PS.
I'm gonna be honest with you. I'm not so good
at the rapid part. I get too intrigued by the
awesome answers. Now a new EPP is going to drop
every Wednesday, so enjoy this shorter style episode of fearlessly
(00:23):
Failing Hot Seat. Welcome to the hot seat. I always
get the guest to introduce themselves. So what is your name?
You can do full name, middle, leave it out, whatever
you want.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Hi, I'm Yana Firestone, no middle.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Name, love it, love it sweet or savory? Food wise?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Oh, depends on the mood. But right, I think a
ten towards savory.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Do you yeah?
Speaker 2 (00:51):
At the end of the end of the night, I
need sweet?
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Got it? Okay? So what would be like a dream
last meal? What they call, you know, the death row meal?
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Oh my god? It would be something like I don't know,
pasta with pesto and heaps of cheese, and like an
amazing bag of chips.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Yeah nice?
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Maybe like chippy, chippiest bunchy or hot chips with sour cream.
I mean, now you really got me going.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
What would dessert be?
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Dessert? Maybe like an amazing like sticky date pudding.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Great choice. Yeah, we're giving away our Australia right now.
Do you have a favorite city?
Speaker 2 (01:35):
It used to always be Paris. Paris was like, oh
I just love Paris, love it so much. But Paris
was single me.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
I don't know if I have to be me with
three kids and a partner. Mm not sure.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Do you love melps?
Speaker 2 (01:51):
I do. There's a lot to love about Melbourne. I
hate the weather. I'm absolutely allergic to the cold and
it just it just like makes me miserable.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
So you know, maybe if I had a billion dollars
and there were no guns and like politics were great,
maybe like a beautiful, sprawling mansion somewhere beautiful here in
LA because the weather is so.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Bloody, I could see like a brentwood beautiful brent Wooden
or like Beverly Hill.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah, catch me in the pool.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Okay, got yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Oh yeah, maybe it's down the coast and the OC
and just like.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Nice. Yeah yeah, well that that. We didn't talk about
those shows, but they're my like reality shows I grew
up watching, which was.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Like Laguna Beach the best.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah, Lcy. On that note, you are here for Bravo Cone,
So what what show were you most excited to see
celebrated there?
Speaker 2 (02:58):
That is like, honestly Sophie's chore. I think Salt Lake City,
Real Houses of Salt Lake City. They are really having
a moment, and I'm really excited to see those ladies
and get a taste of what's happening for them Real
Houses of Miami. I'm excited to see the Southern Charm boys.
I you know, said to my partner, what would happen
(03:20):
if like one of the boys from Southern Charm like
wanted a little pash for example, And he was like
giving it some thought, he said, look, as long as
it's just a kiss, Oh what, It'd make a great story.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
So my boyfriend and I have Hall passes. I'm like,
we're in now late boss. All yours live here? Yes?
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Oh my god, do yours not?
Speaker 1 (03:43):
While mine travel through? Also, I get a bit more
like I have such a crush, but it's like an
artist crush. It's not like I'm like, do you know
what I know?
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Like a looks crush.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
It's like no, it's definitely a hotness crush. I also like,
so mine is like Marcus Mumfort of Confidence sons. Oh yeah,
I love Kerry Mulligan.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
It's like this is the whole and he's got a
tattoo of her initials. I'm like, oh fucking this is amazing.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Yes, totally so, yes.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
He's gorgeous. Like I'll be scrolling in bed TikTok and
Matt's like, are you watching your boyfriend? I'm like, yes,
I am, Yes, I am, sir. Like we went out
last night, mother and Son's playing. I was like, we're
just going to listen to my boyfriend on the way.
I love it.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
My boyfriend is Carlos says he's a Formula one driver.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Oh, I know exactly what you're talking about it And.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Yes, he's just gone from Ferrari to Williams yea, and
so he's my allowed boyfriend.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
So fun to watch F one.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Oh my god. Drive to Survive the best show.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Ever, isn't it amazing? It is amazing you as a
therapist as well, like the like they have like fighter
pilot mentality completely to be that clear and sharp. This
is a little sidebar they would have to have so
much mental health support, right.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Oh my god, that you I mean the team around them, yea,
they are. They have have to have the mental acuity of,
you know, the most high pressure, intense role in the world.
I can't even think what that would be. But they
have to have the reflexes, yeah, the sharp like they
(05:15):
are taking corners at like three hundred kilometers an hour. Yeah,
like it is insane.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Have you seen the Brad Pitt F one movie. It's
very good.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Yeah, I need to say it.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
See it. And he does all his own driving.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
I know, I heard him on armchair Experts.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
I Brad's a nice one. Oh I love Brad.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Yeah, he's very a staple.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah yeah. And in it as his aged he gets
so honest in his interviews, and I'm like, oh, I
love that. I know.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
But you know, there's this big question mark about domestic violence.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
With him Angelina and stuff.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Yeah, and so he did sort of touch on being
in AA and drinking and he was at rock bottom
and apparently his kids don't really have a relationship and
shit with anymore. So I mean that is a huge
I mean, I understand why you wouldn't talk about that,
but you know, that's kind of a piece for me
that's clouded Brad a bit.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah, totally because it was all this aeroplane flight. Wasn't
it all on one aeroplane or something like that. I
thought it was interesting that he did open up about
AA that I felt like, I was like, hang on,
there's some accountability going on here, Yeah, for sure. And
he talked about that time of his life and referenced
it to it being like yeah, A felt he like.
(06:32):
I think he referred to it as a failure of yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
And I think they tried to correct and like, oh,
it's not a failure. Well nothing was working for me. Yeah,
So I like I kind of like.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
I find that humanness.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
And also that was I think this was like fifteen
years ago now or twelve years like, it was a
fair while ago. And I'm like, I like this very
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yeah, yeah, no, I like it.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Not to discount of course. Oh I love that's where
your brain goes. So no mess about with you. Okay,
what's your favorite quality about yourself?
Speaker 2 (07:04):
About myself?
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, I know it's a tough thing.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Oh, Lola, don't turn the tables on me. It's like
my question to ask um um I do think I
have a lot of genuine empathy for people, and I think,
but that can be a bit of a double edged
sword because I take on a lot and that then
causes me a lot of stress. And it could be
(07:29):
from everyday people. I'll be walking on the street and
I'll end up in a conversation with random and they're
telling me their entire life story, and the people pleaser
can't leave the conversation, and the EmPATH is like taking
it all on and like feeling for them and like
getting into the story. But meanwhile, the introvert is screaming like.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Take me home.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
I just want to be alone.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
So it's a mixed bag. It's like a wonderful thing
to be able to bring into my work, but in
my everyday life can be a bit annoying.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
It's like a big boundary lesson.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Yes, I'm not great with those.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, no, No, my therapist says, Lola,
where's the fucket line in the sand? Point?
Speaker 2 (08:19):
It's yeah, I do feel like being now forty three.
I feel like coming into my forties. My intention was
to get much better, it's saying no, yeah, and much
better at boundaries and much better at choosing the things
that I really want to do as opposed to doing
them because I feel like I have to.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Has that happened?
Speaker 2 (08:41):
I'm better at it? How I'm better at it?
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah? My thing was I said to Matt without because
we're two days apart, and I was like, I want
to feel so myself. So we got a tattoo amaz.
Since then, I've got two more, I've got three.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Now I want to get one while I'm here.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
Yeah, fucking do yes? Do it in Vegas or do
you want to do it in La?
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Maybe in La?
Speaker 1 (09:03):
I'll take you to tell you where we went. Yes,
specifically if you love fine lines, yes, but we got one.
We got a Shark because I like that movie and
I have a beautiful therapist friend and he said to
me ten years ago, he was like, you're a shark.
And I go, I don't know about that being my nickname,
and he goes, no, no, no, If you stop moving, you die.
Oh wow, just like that forward motion, that momentum.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
Yeah, And to be really clear, I love the feeling
of feeling clear and sharp in a way of like
I know what I'm doing and where I'm going.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Yes, not at the cost of others. But in that
reun so that I was like, I'm gonna a shark
and then Matt's like, can I get it matching? Oh?
I like that one. I was like, okay, sure, so
now we match. Yeah. Yeah, so that was like I
feel you like forties, I'm like, I want to march
the beat of my own drama unapologetically. Yeah. Yeah, and
(09:57):
I think as well, like having kiddos and not having
the two very different like films, you know, two different
stories and journeys, but fascinating, like feels like a gift.
I feel.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
I think so too.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Do you have a favorite movie? Oh?
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Do I have a favorite?
Speaker 1 (10:13):
You can do a top couple movie?
Speaker 2 (10:17):
That is Again, these are like these impossible questions because
what's something you can watch on repeat? Let me think
the jet lag brain is starting to kick in the
you watch anything on the flight? Yes, but it was
on my iPad and it was Real Housewives and then
it was nobody Wants this on Netflix. Season two.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
It's a good season two. Okay, it's all shot here,
you know that.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Yeah, yeah, it's a bit disappointing this time around.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
I love your honest feedbacks.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
The first season, I feel like, was so funny and
witty and clever and gorgeous and sexy and like mad, yes,
and it just made me want to fall in love
and like, I don't know, it was like so amazing
And this just feels a bit sad. Oh really, yeah,
nothing sad is happening, but it just feels like the
(11:10):
characters are just not as likable or as I can't
understand what Noah sees in got it? Yeah, I don't know,
I can't. I just and I'll report back for you,
please do. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
We just watched All Her Fault, the new Sarah Snook show,
which is on Binge in Australia, and that's really really heavy.
It's about a child abduction but it's a psychological thriller
and by the end we were like, oh my god,
if you want like a fool who done it? But
I imagine as a mama bear it would be really
scary and it's a little boy that gets taken. But
that when there are some big twists. Okay, so it's
(11:50):
very if you can hang into the like highly traumatic stuff.
At the start you're just like, yes, it's like that
fun who Done it?
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Kind of vibe amazing not fun, but you know what,
I mean.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
Yeah, okay, then well then you don't need to give
me a favor.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Yeah, I don't think. I don't know if I can choose.
I'm like scam like there are things and know it's
a bit controversial, but like some of the old school
Woody Allen stuff that you could just watch forever, even
though Midnight in Paris with Owen Wilson, you know, if
you want to go like the commercial like almost famous
was amazing. Yet, so that's like living your dreams.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
You know. That's a good that's a good answer.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
All right, let's leave it there because I will now
tell you fifteen other movies.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Per No, my friend, this is perfect. My final question
for you is when you get good news, who's the
first person you call?
Speaker 2 (12:41):
It's a toss up between Chris and my dad.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
I knew you were going to say that. Yeah, that's
pretty cool. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Yeah, sometimes it's my dad first and then it's Chris.
But Chris is totally okay with that.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
No, that's a good combo. Yeah, it's been a joy
to have you on. You are wonderful. Thank you come
back anytime.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
I love nothing more, and I'll have you back on
my pot too.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Do it let's do it.
