Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome to your diary episode. Here's the thing. I'm a
bit of a nomad, so these episodes come to you
from wherever I'm living or traveling to at the time,
so I'll share with you what's going on in my world,
from book tours, animal encounters, delish meals, nature adventures, health
discoveries to swimming in Hidden Byron Bay Beaches. Come with

(00:25):
me as I share my adventures with you. Hello, Los
Angeles Diary pod coming to you. Okay today I usually
I type this diary out and I use talk points,
but today I'll be really honest with you. The day
has gone away from me, so my method this time

(00:48):
is visual and I've literally just got my phone and
the images I've taken over the last week out to
run you through this week. So last week ago today,
when we last spoke, I was getting ready to take
my mate to a play, but we were going to
the rodeo lights like the lighting of the Rodeo drive

(01:12):
lights beforehand. And it was great. It was really Christmasy
started to spit like such a rain a little bit,
which is quite not normal for La. Anyway, it was amazing,
very busy to go to the launch night last year.
I took Dad maybe a couple of nights after it launched,
and it was very chill, but I highly recommend it

(01:34):
if you're in California. Going to the Rodeo Drive Christmas
lights is a great thing to do. Also, Daylight Savings
has happened here, so it gets dark at about five pm,
so it's just something good to think about. So like
family friendly and all of that. That was great. We
went to Air one, the Beverly Hills Air One, and
had dinner there. Beverly Hills Air One is I think

(01:55):
the only air One that I find a little too
over overwhelming, like it's a lot if I'm honest, But
it was still great. Got a delish meal. They've just
released their Thanksgiving hot bar menu, and I think Boss
and I are gonna have to have a little date anyway,
So we went to the Rodeo Drive Christmas Lighting. There

(02:20):
was Carol's fireworks, all the fun stuff, and then right
before the fireworks though, we had to get in the
car and drive from Beverly Hills to Hollywood, which is
like thirty five minutes in the rain forty for a
play that we saw that was written and directed by
Anthony Mindel. It was on at Cole Theater, which is
his space, and it was awesome. It was called The

(02:42):
Year We Disappeared and it jumps back and forth in time.
There is a real music element to it, and it's
the pacing is really fast, which was really fun to watch.
It was a two act play and I think it
went for like two and a half hours, but it
felt really quick, if that makes sense. It was just

(03:04):
really snappy. I would say, like in the cut, like
the time between scenes and stuff like that was really
really cool. Okay, So then, okay, so that was my
Thursday night last week.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
What did I do Friday? Oh? There we go.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
I need to get my little phone out again. But
I did. On the weekend, we had our mate Charlotte
for dinner and what did Boss make for Charlotte?

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Chili. It was so flipping good. We just had a
really nice night chilled, had a couple of whiskeys because
the next day we were going on a one month
to detox starting on Sunday. So got up Sunday morning.
I was feeling a little bit dusty, but nothing crazy,
and I went to the Hollywood Farmer's Market with my

(03:52):
friend Brian it's a really big farmer's market. There are farmers'
markets all over lay, Like I've been to the Studio
City ones, the Echo Park ones, Silver Lake ones, the
Melrose Place, Where's Hollywood ones, Culver City ones I've been to,
but the Hollywood ones are huge and I think probably

(04:16):
one of the better ones, I would say, And just
so much good organic produce. We load up on lots
of stuff. How to little catch up now. I mentioned
it was spitting with rain Thursday night. It's pretty much
been raining consistently since then in La. So it's been
pelting down and it's been kind of cold and gloomy.
But we're not mad about it because obviously it's always

(04:38):
sunny in La and so it's kind of very cozy.
It gets really dark early it's raining. It's just annoying
if you want it. Like I was going to go
for a hike with my bud tomorrow. No hiking right now. Now.
It's about like hot yoga and meeting for coffee dates
and stuff like that. So that was really really fun
going to the farmer's market. We've got a plan to

(04:59):
go again this week. I think I was saying to
a friend, I don't know which friend, But I was
saying in America, it's a bit different to Australia, you
kind of have to work hard for your health, Like
you have to make a lot of choices when you're like, oh,
not necessarily choices, but if when you pick up the
packet of something and you want to check for seed
oils and you want to check for additives and colorants

(05:22):
and like how many sugars there are in products and
stuff like that, Whereas in Australia, of course you have
to do the same thing. But I just feel like
it's easier to like eat healthy, especially when you go out,
whereas here I always go, I presume that seed oils
are being used, if that makes sense anyway. So we're
both just like we want to solid month of just

(05:44):
like really honoring our health. So I've been doing yogs,
We've both been going to the gym. The only thing
I haven't been able to do is walk just because
it's been pelting down. But it's been really nice to
just get into our little groove together. Okay. I filmed
Influence a campaign this week that's just gone live, So
that was really fun and that was really Christmasy love

(06:06):
that and then I met up with a bud and
went for a little coffee at this place. I think
it's in Echo Park. It's called Forage. That was really nice.
That looked amazing for like lunch or dinner look great.
And then bost and I went on a movie date
to the Grove. So the Grove is also super Christmasy
if you're ever in La and it's an outdoor shopping mall.

(06:30):
It's awesome, but it's like quite busy, and it was
really busy last night. But we decided to see an
RVO movies, like a two forty five pm movie and
then I was like, oh great, by the time we
come out, the sun will be going down. All the
Christmas lights are going to look amazing. And between now
from the I think the eighteenth of November all the

(06:50):
way through till Christmas, it snows. It's just like like
detergent bubbles, but it's snow, I think it is. Anyway,
it's noose at six pm and eight pm every night
and it's so magical. Definitely it would one for the
fan Bam. But we had so much fun. So we
went to the theater there and watched a movie and
then yeah, I had a little Christmas date. It was unreal,

(07:14):
and then came home and had like dinner and went
to bed because we are just trying to like really
be in health nerd mode right now. Matt loves to
do this. He loves to take one month at least
a year, sometimes two months a year, like in separate
sections of just like no sugar, no booze, drop the

(07:37):
carbohydrate and kind of just eat like really nourishing, clean food.
And you would think, oh, that's going to be harder
in the colder months, which is what we're in right
now in Los Angeles. But Matt loves making like slow
cook things like chicken, soup and chili and really really
healthy things. So it's been really nice to like have

(07:58):
lots of nourishing meals. We're having lots of teas and yeah,
it's really nice. Highly recommend it. Highly recommend it. Also,
since we last spoke, I interviewed Ossie, actor, singer, dancer
Hugh Sheridan on the pod that's gonna come out on Monday.
He's got a brand new Chrissy album out called The Merryest.

(08:19):
It's awesome. He's also doing loads of carols, like I
know he's doing Carols in the Domain in Sydney. He's
doing at two different Carols events in Adelaide. Lovely human,
very honest, very vulnerable in the way that he shares
and talks, and it was just such a joy, obviously,
like me being a millennial, like Packed to the Rafters

(08:41):
was a show I grew up watching and loved. And
then you know, I don't know, I reckon he said
he was shooting house husbands where this happened. But do
you remember I don't know if anyone knows this about me,
but I used to live in Port Melwourn and I
used to go to Thomas Ducks in Port Melwourn. To
any Melbourne I is, remember Thomas Ducks. Anyway, I remember
one day I was shopping and it's like a bougie

(09:04):
grocery store essentially. I was shopping and Hugh Sheridan was
shopping and I was like, ah, that's Sheridan, and I
was like, so so handsome, And anyway, I told him
that story, of course, didn't I. I actually told him that
story of the night I met him properly, which was
a couple of weeks before at our dear friend Pip's birthday,
and then I told him again when I saw him

(09:26):
and record this pot. I actually got really lucky because
we recorded the pod last Saturday in He's Little Australia
last Sunday. Like it was such lucky timing and yeah,
such a sweet little soul. I really loved that episode.
It's really interesting because like I've slated all these appstoley
into the year. Slated means they're all planned and recorded

(09:46):
and done, so episodes are all done and everyone's pitching
it and I'm like, oh wow, And actually Hugh I
pitched for. I was like, I've got to get Hugh
Sheridan on the pod. He's an Australia that he's Australia's
favorite son, and you know. But it's really interesting at
the moment, like I'm so onto it with the pod,

(10:07):
and now there's amazing that people are like, hey, can
I come on? Oh, I've got an idea, and I'm like,
oh my god, this is amazing. That said, I am
doing a huge recording day in Sydney in December, So
if you've got if you know of anyone that's Sydney based,
I really want to interview some Sydney guests. I have
booked a handful, but I have access to the studio

(10:28):
all day, so I'm just gonna have a mega day
of recording and be so pumped about it. I'm so excited.
But yeah, if there's anyone that's Sydney based, Melbourne's a
little trickier because I get to Melbourne too close to
Christmas and so the studios are all shut. So I'll
do most of my Australiana pod recording in Sido's so excited.

(10:50):
I'm going to take my dad's see Christmas Carol. I
took him a couple of years ago when Owen Tele
was the lead and oh and Teal came on the
pod and I said, Dad, for Father's Day. I was like,
because I'm obviously in America and it's so it takes
four million years to post anything from America to Australia.
And I was like, for your Father's Day, Praisy, I'm
gonna get tickets to a Christmas Carol. So we're seeing

(11:13):
that right before. Crimbo can't wait. Speaking of Crimbo, so
you might have figured this out by now. I'm a
festive goal. I love Christmas, I love holiday season, I
love celebrating, but I do love like a deco if
I'm honest, like the house has got our tree is up,
We've got some little deers around the house. The fairy

(11:34):
lights are currently on while I record this pod, and
of course I have a spiced Christmas pair candle Bernie
as we speak. And so what I want to say
is this hu episode that comes out on Monday is
quite Christmasy. And I'll play you one of my favorite
songs off his album, but or a little snippet of

(11:55):
it because I had not many people sing it's this
Hawaiian Christmas song. I love it. Anyway, his episode is
quite christmasy. And I have two other Christmas episodes that
I adore that were recorded a couple of years ago,
but they're just so festive and christmas y and I
love bringing them out at Christmas time. And one is
Oh and Teal, the actor I was telling you about

(12:17):
off Game of Thrones that did at Christmas. Carolyn came
onto the pod and he has this incredible Welsh accent
and it's just one of my favorite episodes. So we
always bring Oh and Teal out at Christmas time. And
the other one is Dennis Walter, so you'll see those
two epps drop somewhere around Christmas time. Trying to figure
it out feels a pinch early just yet, and we

(12:39):
have some great film content coming out soon too, so
I think just keep your ears at because you'll get
a couple of festive episodes. A little bit of housekeeping
about the pod. The pod continues over Christmas. We don't
take breaks, so it'll be you know, your Monday long Form,
your Wednesday hot seat, and your Friday diary. I might

(13:04):
try and see if Dad or jump on a diary
or something he gets. Really he's like, no, I don't
feel like doing that. It doesn't like being put on
the spot. But if I give him some talk points
is usually okay. And he is such a sweet, fun
guest and I'll be spending some time with him over Chrissy.
All right, well that's me. Let's pull you an Oracle card. Oh.
Before that, I'll play you my favorite Q song or

(13:26):
a little a little pinch from it. And you can
download this album of Hughes the Merriest literally anywhere, like
I stream it on Spotify, but you can totally. I
think it's on like Apple and wherever you listen to music.
So let me get it up for you. So this
song is like a Okay, I currently have bad bunny playings.

(13:47):
We need to find a hue. I feel like it
comes straight up when I put it in a huge
she oft it and it comes straight up. Third search.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Okay, this song I love?

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Where is it?

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Okay, you ready? This is like it's called the Island
Christmas Song.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Okay, you ready ready?

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Christmas Day? How good? How good? Is he? So good?
And so yeah. The album is called The Merriest Stream It.
It's it's officially out now. I think it came out

(14:40):
like one day before we chatted. So you go, okay,
let me pull you an oracle card, you know, the drill.
I pull three and it's interesting. We're pulling this on
a scorpio full moon, which is pretty cool. You know
Scorpios they say they're the fire sign of the waters. Okay,

(15:02):
oh kid, okay, here we go. Okay, so I've just shuffled,
That's what I was doing them. Let me just pull
this side and we have a good Yeah. So we're
doing the rainbow spread.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
So we're gonna pull three cards past present, future, and
then we're gonna look at the top of the deck
and the bottom of the deck and one has fallen out.
So sometimes I think that happens for reasons, so I
always don't ignore that. Okay, So past oh love, this
divine magic, extra magical and extra magical energy surrounds your
situation right now. Expect miracles present, have faith your prayers

(15:40):
are manifesting. Remain positive and follow your guidance future. Time
to move on. It's time to let go of the old,
worn out so the new can come in. Top of
the deck. Music for manifesting thee oh I just played
be a Hughes Christmas song to manifest rapidly think of
your desire while you chant, hum, sing, or play music.

(16:03):
Bottom of the deck. Wait, don't rush into action right now.
Bide your time for better results and the one that
fell out of the deck. Set your sites higher, increase
your standards and expect more for yourself. Don't settle. I'm
just going to pull three more cards over that weight one.

(16:24):
I kind of want to know what, A bit more
information about that for whoever was wondering. That's what I do.
If I'm not sure, I accellentally pulled it out and
looked at it, which I shouldn't do. Okay, great, Okay,
so these are the three cards that are on top
of weight, play time. The dolphins know the importance of
playing as joy increases. Miracles and manifestation. Mother healing as

(16:50):
your feelings towards your mother heal, your desires manifest more
rapidly and accurately. Self employment. You're a born entrepreneur and
you're busy is surrounded by magical opportunities. That's pretty fucking cute.
I'm not sure if bomb like that and swear right
at the end of a pod. Okay, well, there you go, friends,

(17:10):
that's the week that was. You've got hu on Monday,
nice and Christmasy and yeah, let me know if there's
anyone that's Sydney based that you think would be good
for the pod. I've booked a couple of actors so far.
I'm trying to get an author. Uh yeah, just trying
to sort it all out. Anything else to tell you.

(17:32):
We've got a bit of a social weekend, so I'm
just trying to because we're not drinking, ordering sugar or anything.
We're just kind of like, I'm trying to do yogs
and move my body most days because I find if
I exercise it holds me more accountable. It's like exercises
more for my mental health than my physical health, if
I'm being honest. Does that make sense anyway? That's me.

(17:53):
We're making organic Mexican tacos tonight and I can not
flipping white. All right, hooru best rest. Can't wait to
catch up next week, boy,

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
