Phibro purpose to optimizeglobal animal health and
nutrition for the betterment oflives and a more sustainable
(00:27):

During the World Pork Expo, wecaught up with Scott Fry,
director of Swine Business forPhibro, and Larry Miller, chief
Operating Officer with Phibro.
We talked about what's aheadand what it all means for
livestock producers.
(01:10):
Larry, what are some of thelatest updates from Phibro?
Larry Miller (01:15):
Well, we have just
completed an acquisition a few
months ago of some medicatedfeed additives and other
water-soluble products that weare adding to our portfolio.
This is a global acquisitionthat brought us some very unique
and well-respected, well-testedscientific products that are
(01:36):
marketed in almost 100 markets,100 countries around the world.
So integration is going reallysmoothly according to our plan
and we've been really reallyexcited about bringing those
together as combined solutionswith our existing fibro products
our legacy fibro products tooffer more and different choices
to our customers.
Sarah Muirhead (01:57):
So talk to us,
then, about this expanding
portfolio and what's thestrategy behind that.
Larry Miller (02:02):
So it really
allows us to bring different
classes of compounds to ourcustomers, different products
that maybe have differentcombinations to be used together
, and those are in the Medicaidand Feed Additive portfolio.
But we also have brandednutrition specialty products.
We have in the United States, customized vaccines autogenous
(02:23):
vaccines and we also havemineral specialty products.
We have in the United Statescustomized vaccines autogenous
vaccines and we also havemineral nutrition products.
So it allows us to bringdifferent products from these
combined portfolios because ourcustomers are interested in, you
know, managing and addressingtheir health solutions in
livestock.
So usually that's not just aone product approach, it's a
(02:43):
combination of approaches, maybethrough therapeutic treatment,
through prevention and throughhealth management, to affect the
overall health of the animal,as well as the expertise that
our Phibro field team offers.
Sarah Muirhead (03:01):
So, Scott, then
how does the medicated feed
additive acquisition?
How does that align with Phibromission and vision?
Scott Fry (03:09):
Very much aligns very
well with just our dedication
to focus on livestock andprotein production.
That's really core to ourbusiness, our legacy business
and who we are and what we focuson for the market.
So strong alignment there.
Sarah Muirhead (03:26):
What's been the
response so far from US
producers?
Scott Fry (03:30):
It's been very
positive and very, very good
discussions that we've had withcustomers.
They're happy to see it in ourportfolio again, something back
that quarter our business, andso lots of really good responses
there Also provides moresolutions that we can offer them
as well and provide mutualvalue.
Sarah Muirhead (03:52):
So are you
focused, then, on a specific
phase of the production cycle?
Walk us through that, yeah sogreat question.
Scott Fry (04:00):
It really opens it up
.
We're back into all segments ofproduction.
You know, prior to theacquisition really focused on
that sow and nursery phase.
This acquisition opens up thatgrow, finish and finishing
period and so really get it frombirth all the way to finish.
Now with our full portfolio.
Sarah Muirhead (04:18):
What are some
things that swine producers
should be paying attention toright now, and how is Phibro
helping them through thisprocess?
Scott Fry (04:25):
I process.
I mean, obviously I thinkdisease threats are always top
of mind and that's continues toto be top of mind and, and the
big thing is, is with ourendogenous vaccine business and
our diagnostics and service andexpertise that we can provide
there is really we can beproactive and get ahead of those
things from a vaccination andtreatment perspective to make
sure we put the right thing inthe bottle for the pig and do
(04:47):
what's right for the pig.
And really, as Larry mentioned, these products are backed by
science and we can bring in ourMFA portfolio into that again if
that's what is needed for theparticular challenge that the
customer is dealing with.
Sarah Muirhead (05:02):
Yeah, always pay
attention to what's going on on
that disease front.
It seems to be ever-changing ina lot of cases.
So what are some of thequestions then that you're
getting from swine producers?
What are they coming to youlooking for information on?
Scott Fry (05:15):
Yeah, really improve
overall herd health and be more
efficient in doing it right andimproving accuracy, I would say,
and being more targeted in thatapproach.
And again, that starts with ourvaccine business and our
expertise from our team.
That's been a lot.
We've done a lot of work therearound PERS and flu and
sequences and so on and so forththis year.
(05:37):
Lots of activity and goodinteractions with customers.
Sarah Muirhead (05:41):
How can
producers learn more about
Phibro and the products that youhave to offer?
Scott Fry (05:46):
Yeah, visit our
website at wwwpahccom for all
the information.
Of course they can also reachout to their account rep.
Keep engaged and we'll keepthem up to speed on the latest
information.
If you're here at World Pork,of course you can come by and
see us at our booth.
Love to chat with you.
Sarah Muirhead (06:05):
Final comments
that you'd like to, or key
takeaways you'd like to leaveour audience with.
Scott Fry (06:09):
Yeah, just you know,
we're committed to this Part of
the business medicated feed andontogenous vaccine business and
the nutritional segment of ourbusiness as well and we're
committed to overall health ofour US swine production systems
and so, again, acquisition thatwe that occurred earlier this
(06:32):
year is very much in line withour mission of healthy animals,
healthy food, healthy world.
Sarah Muirhead (06:38):
So Final
comments from you Larry.
Larry Miller (06:42):
Just what Scott
said.
I mean we are really excitedabout having an expanded
portfolio, being able to bringdifferent types and more
solutions to our customers tohelp them solve some of their
health challenges.
Sarah Muirhead (06:54):
