Jennessa Groves, D-1 standout women’s soccer player for Loyola Marymount University, joins Glenn on the Field for the next installment of the Focused Driven Athlete: Athletic Spotlight. Jennessa shares her personal journey growing up in Palos Verdes, CA and how she twice led her High School to the California Interscholastic Federation HS regional championship game and state championship as a freshman athlete. She also shares what it was like to lead her Beach FC soccer club to compete and win the So Cal Division Soccer League (SCDSL), the mental and physical demands of playing in the Development Academy, and overcoming severe injuries that plagued her career. Jennessa also talks about her recruiting process, what it was like to be a student-athlete at the University of Texas in the Big 12 Conference, growing up in a professional sports family, and her plans to play for an international professional soccer team.
