This is a powerful episode on how to find clarity around your identity and your life's purpose as well as how to form healthy relationships and what it takes to build them with yourself and others. We talk with James about men and women not being so different at the core and how they face a lot of the same challenges when it comes to forming and maintaining relationships.
We also dive into the importance and challenges of finding your confidence and purpose in life. What is it that you want to leave behind that lives on longer than you do? What do you want your legacy to be in this world? But more importantly, how you can discover that for yourself and take action to make it happen.
James was generally unpopular and socially unaccepted growing up, always facing rejection from girls and not fitting into social groups. Shortly after he graduated high school, he went through his first breakup and began diving into the world of personal development and providing dating advice.
From there, he started putting his own twist on things based on what he saw worked for his own parents and family members and publicly writing and speaking about it. This led to people asking him for advice, and even offering to pay him for personal coaching. From there he started his own blog to reach a larger audience and within 3 short months a post had gone viral and reached 1.5 million people in a single day, proving how much sharing your own story vulnerably can have such a positive impact on others. His blog now is approaching 40 million visitors and he is a top writer for Medium.
