"Behind the Scenes of the Jesus Revolution: Exclusive Interview with Hank Erwin, Father of Hollywood Producers Andrew and Jon Erwin"
In our interview today with former Alabama State Senator Hank Erwin, the father of movie producers Andrew and Jon Erwin, we discussed the inspiration behind their latest film, "Jesus Revolution," which has been making waves in Hollywood and across the country.
Hank Erwin was the real-life chaplain of the Woodlawn high school football team. He played a pivotal role in bringing the players together through their shared faith.
The movie Woodlawn, based on the true story of a high school football team in Birmingham, Alabama, that was transformed by faith during the height of the desegregation era, profoundly impacted the Erwin brothers.
While making the Jesus Revolution movie, the Erwin brothers hoped to capture the same spirit of transformation they had seen in Woodlawn and the real-life events of the Jesus Movement. They hoped to inspire others to seek that same hope and purpose.
Hank Erwin himself is a man of deep faith, and he was proud of his sons for using their talents to spread a positive message.
Of course, making a movie is no small feat, and the Erwin brothers faced many challenges in bringing "Jesus Revolution" to the screen. But with the help of Lionsgate, who Hank thanked in this interview for not caving to today's cancel culture environment, the talented cast and crew were able to tell a story that resonates with audiences of all ages. They were able to create something extraordinary.
Hank also details how he was so proud of his son's recent accomplishments on CinemaScore, a Hollywood grading system polling moviegoers' reactions to major movie releases.
His son Jon had made history, becoming the only Hollywood director ever to receive four movies with an A+ score.
His other son Andrew received three A+ scores in his previous releases.
Not even legendary Steven Spielberg can say that, as he only received two movies with an A+ score for ET and Schindlers List.
As for what's next for the Erwin brothers, Hank is excited to see what they will do next. "Andrew and Jon are both incredibly talented, and they have a heart for telling stories that matter," he said. "Whatever they do next, I know it will be something that will inspire and encourage others."
In conclusion, the Erwin brothers' latest film, "Jesus Revolution," is a testament to their passion for sharing their faith and the power of storytelling to inspire hope and redemption. With the support of their father and audiences across the country, they have created a movie that is making waves in Hollywood and beyond.
