There are seven basic human emotions that we all experience at some point in our lives. Some are not much more than a bump in the road, but others can distract us or deter us from finding and fulfilling the purpose for our life.
The degree to which we live out our purpose determines the degree of peace and joy and wellness we enjoy in our lives. So it's critical to identify these 7 wounds and have a strategy for countering them when they show up in our lives.
The seven basic human wounds are:
REJECTION—feeling unloved and unwanted
SHAME—believing there’s something bad about you
HOPELESSNESS—feeling like nothing will get better
ABANDONMENT—a sense of being unseen and alone
FEAR—leads to self protection and distrust
POWERLESSNESS—feeling trapped and vulnerable
CONFUSION—can’t make sense of things or have trouble figuring things out
Any one of these can trip us up, but if we know how to counter these 7 wounds, we can find and live our purpose. In fact, when we go through the process of healing these basic wounds, we can emerge from the process stronger and wiser than before the pain.
Your purpose is real success, and it includes healthy relationships with good people, peace, joy, wellness, financial stability and a sense of contentedness that cannot be attained any way other than through living your purpose. So please listen every week as we continue to move toward finding and living the purpose for which you were born and perfectly matched.
