In this episode of the Find Your Purpose Now podcast, we talk about the distractions to fulfilling our purpose and what you can do to eliminate them--self-care being the first!
How long can we sit quietly with God and listen really listen for his direction and leading? How many times in say a 30 minute would you pick up your phone to check for texts emails calls or would you even have it on silent and just be continually interrupted? If you had Jesus in front of you in a meeting, would you keep your phone on? Would you pick it up while He’s talking to you just in case you might have a text from a bigger name?
I am not anti-technology. I’m probably as addicted to it as the next person, but I am trying to be aware of the capability of technology to distract us into oblivion so that at the end of our lives, we look around and wonder where the time went and what we really accomplished. It’s sad to get to the end of life and not have the sweet feeling of accomplishment and contentedness that comes only with the fulfillment of one’s purpose. We can only know that feeling for sure if we’ve spent time really listening to God direction.
It is said that there are one hundred billion stars in the universe and multiple universes, yet the Bible tells us that God names the stars. How can He be so vast and yet so intimate, knowing every tear we've cried.
To get to know anyone, we must spend time with them. Carve out some time to disconnect from technology and spend time with God. When you do, you'll hear from Him about ideas, thoughts, suggestions etc that move you into the beautiful plan He created just for YOU.
Your purpose is real success, and it includes healthy relationships with good people, peace, joy, wellness, financial stability and a sense of contentedness that cannot be attained any way other than through living your purpose. So please listen every week as we continue to move toward finding and living the purpose for which you were born and perfectly matched.
