Marcy Weinstein has represented more sales volume and set more sales records than all other real estate agents in the history of Newport Coast in Southern California. Her clients and friends include some of the best known celebrities in the world. She's a joyful, fun, powerhouse, so much so that you would never know that she's intimately acquainted with pain.
In high school, Marcy's civics teacher, convinced her to enter the Miss San Marcos pageant because it led to a seat on the city council. Marcy wanted to do what she could to improve her community, so she signed up. She won that contest and was automatically entered into the Miss California Universe pageant.
Her father was in the military and her mother was a homemaker, so they didn't have money for a fancy dress. Marcy's mother had taught her to sew, so Marcy set out to make her dress from a design she created. Her very unique dress hung from her neck suspended by her grandmother's pearl necklace. One of the judges of the pageant happened to be the world famous winner of eight Academy Awards for Costume Design, Edith Head.
Ms. Head approached Marcy to ask who had made her dress. When Marcy told the famous designer that she did it herself without a pattern, Ms. Head saw to it that Marcy enhanced her natural talent through an education at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.
Marcy carved her niche in the garment business and then used her talent to pivot to design large luxury office projects. She traveled the world overseeing her projects, when one day there was a horrific fire that covered almost 60% of her body with 2nd and 3rd degree burns. While in the hospital still wondering if she would survive, her fiancé told her that no one would be able to take care of her or love her. Marcy's reply spoke volumes about who she is.
While trying to breathe, not knowing if she'd live or be able to walk again or live a normal life, Marcy said, "Well, God and I both love me, and I see how beautiful I am, and I can take care of myself."
