Dating After 50 was a chapter of ups and downs and a badly broken heart, and I had to take a long timeout after that. I recently put myself back out there and let's just say that I may give up dating altogether and just start collecting cats.
I've been talking a lot recently about changing chapters (breaking up with previous versions of yourself, mostly because I'm in the midst of yet another chapter change--one that promises to be really, really good. What makes this one different is that I'm flowing into this one with ease and grace because of the lessons I've learned. Changing chapters doesn't have to be hard when you know how to quickly refocus.
Interestingly, I've had chats with many, many people over the past few months who all seem to be changing chapters due to retirement, job loss, career moves, ending of a relationship, a shift in family dynamics, relocating, or simply the desire to change their lives. Some of the changes are by choice, some are by chance.
While some chapter changes can be for happy reasons, the downside and common theme of breaking up and changing chapters--or wanting to change chapters--is feeling lost, stuck, alone, and anxious. What can make things even more stressful is that you can have multiple changes occurring at the same time.

Walking into a new chapter isn't easy. It means leaving behind the comfort of our old selves (no matter how flawed or frayed), trying on a new identity, being in a new place, and walking an uncertain path. All of this involves a degree of risk--which adds to the anxiety of what is probably an already unsettling time for you. It takes a bit of courage.

Are You A Charlotte?
In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
