Today we discuss how taking time away to renew and reflect is important for our well-being. We must remember to take the time consistently instead of just when we need it. We have to remind ourselves not to feel guilty about it and to treat the time as a way to make ourselves better! The benefit is that when we are helping ourselves, we are also helping the others around us.
In this episode, we (Jessica and Melinda) discuss life after placing our babies. We share the need for education and support for birthmothers. There is such beauty in this sometimes heartbreaking decision. Finding the joy comes when you know your why. We made the choice because we wanted the best for our babies - we LOVE them.
This is part one of our discussion about each of our adoption processes. We talk about why we chose adoption for our babies, the stigma attached to birth moms, and the process we went through.
As a woman, friendships can be a challenge to create, build and maintain. We will share how we "discovered" each other and then talk about ways to make, keep and work through "tough" stuff in adult friendships.
We are such amazing souls, but why do we clean when we are upset? Sometimes we just have to communicate.

Each of our adoption stories are different, our feelings and experiences are different but the struggle is real.
The process of adoption is something that no one can prepare you for. While you are giving someone something that they have prayed about they are having their heart filled while your heart is being ripped out. But knowing you providing a better life for your child can be rewarding through the grief. You are not along in your struggle.

Marriage has trials, only you can decide what you want to forgive.
It can be hard living in someone shadow. Remember you are your own person be you and shine your sparkle.
There is positive in every negative situation.
In life we all have to make hard choices. We never know at the time if it is the wrong or right choice. Sometimes we have to go with how the situation is making us feel.
What you are going through today will be different tomorrow.
Don't be ashamed to ask for help. Mental Health is nothing to be ashamed of.
Sometimes you have to hold the mirror up to yourself and see where you can make changes in situations.
Growing up with out a dad has a huge impact on your life during your childhood and in your adulthood. Sometimes you have to talk it out and work through the deep conversations to let go of what is holding you back from having meaningful relationships.
