This episode is about perseverance. Sharon shares her heart about losing her pet who has helped comfort her and her husband after her son's death. Sometimes life does not seem fair, and then there comes the straw that breaks the camel's back. She discusses how with God's help we need to refocus our faith back on Him. He is where our hope comes from. There are many examples from the Bible when people have faced terribly hard situations and how God has helped them to stand strong in their faith. Abraham got up early to head out when God told him to sacrifice his son. Paul got up and went on preaching after he was stoned and left for dead. Our wonderful Savior set the greatest example of all because He allowed Himself to be crucified for you and for me when He carried out His Father's will.
We have to trust God more than our circumstances. What is He laying before us? Can we say yes to Him even when the situation is anything but what we want to say yes to? He is waiting to help carry those burdens that we were never meant to carry. When we hold His hand, we can walk by faith and not be sight. Declare your faith, and not let your feelings be in charge. It is so much easier to say than to do. But with God, nothing is impossible.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
