What a special time as Sharon interviews her friend, Linda Byce. Linda has been through so much. She cared for her husband after his massive heart attack that left his brain without oxygen for quite awhile causing him great debilitating disability. She cared for him for the remaining 11 years of his life. At the age of 14 years old, her son Trammell was stricken with a terrible virus that caused paralysis and they were told he would never walk again. But God had a miracle waiting for them. She has two brain tumors currently that, at any time, can leave her blind. Her story has been and continues to be one miracle after another.
Linda is a teacher for Released Time at Liberty Middle School in SC. It is a ministry and school program for teaching children about Christ, where children are taken off campus for a time of Bible Study. What a worthwhile non-profit! If you would like to make donations to this program or find out more about it, visit https://pcreleasedtime.com.
Linda also leads the Grace In The Wilderness Private Support Group for Caregivers. It is called Wings of Hope: A GITW Support Group for Caregivers. You may access it at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/345857492290778, or by searching facebook for the name. We urge you to become a part if you are a caregiver. Linda has a heart for this group and offers great encouragement in this group.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
