What if the key to a harmonious society lies in the delicate balance between politics and spirituality? Join us on this thought-provoking journey as we explore the intricate intersections of these two realms in America today. We'll pull back the curtain on the historical struggles for equality, justice, and fairness, and scrutinize the current political climate that often feels divisive and restrictive. From the erosion of American freedoms to the stark economic inequalities and the troubling influence of radical religious extremists, we challenge the binary oppositions that dominate our discourse. Instead, we advocate for a more inclusive, equitable society that genuinely serves all its citizens.

Can integrating religion into public schools coexist with the fundamental American value of freedom? We take a hard look at the broader implications of adhering strictly to biblical principles in modern governance. As we navigate through these contentious waters, we critique the role of churches in addressing social issues like homelessness, proposing that true freedom and equity emerge from mutual respect and genuine altruism. Tackling the rise of Christian nationalism and extreme right ideologies, we stress that all taxpayers, irrespective of their beliefs, deserve equal rights and caution against the societal harm these fervent ideologies could cause.

As we approach the 2024 elections, the time has come to break free from the entrenched political dichotomy. We invite you to explore alternative political options that prioritize the people over personal gain. Reflecting on historical injustices and the harsh realities of modern society, we emphasize the necessity of unity and environmental sustainability. Embracing the diversity of all cultures and spiritual beliefs, I, Richard Kent (also known as Richard Ravenbrook), call for true equality and the elimination of bigotry. Join us as we chart a course toward a more compassionate and inclusive approach to governance, aiming for higher achievements beyond our conflicts and environmental destruction.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome everyone.
Welcome back to another episodeof the Pagan Preacher and this
spiritual journey.
Today's podcast may get alittle political, so if you have
a mindset that you don't wantto speak of anything political
or hear anything political, youmay want to turn the channel.

(00:22):
But today, when I startspeaking about political things,
I'm going to be speaking aboutpolitical things from a
spiritual perspective, if I canspeak, speaking in the terms of
not right or left, or Democrator Republican or whatever, but

(00:50):
just solely as a person, anindividual that desires the best
for humanity, someone thatbelieves in equality and real
justice, equal opportunity foreveryone, fairness.

(01:10):
You know, when we start talkingabout politics, people get
frustrated, they get angry, theyget just, and I understand
Because for many, many years ourparents and our grandparents

(01:32):
and their parents struggled.
They endeavored to make change, positive change, or to keep
things the way they should be,and the waves of chaos and

(01:52):
turmoil and just everyday lifeissues have somehow turned our,
our country, our society and ourculture into a very confusing
melting pot of ideologies, doctrines, dogmas, and sometimes

(02:16):
, when we start just thinkingabout what is the right thing to
do and where do we need to goand I believe it goes way past,
whether you are one party oranother, whether you're left or
you're right, whether you're inthe middle and neutral, wherever

(02:41):
you are on this political game.
Wherever you are on thispolitical game, I think the
problem is America is aboutfreedom and it seems like we
have one party always arguingwith another party, one party
always trying to take or limitfrom the other party, and it

(03:10):
takes away from the freedom ofAmerica.
We have people that believethat they have to stop certain
things in America due to theirtheology, their religion or
their practice, that they can'taccept certain things within
society or that judgment will beupon them.

(03:33):
And these religions, thesepeople, these radical extremists
that want to change thiscountry to fit that narrative.
In that religion they persecuteon a daily basis people that
are LGBT and more.

(03:57):
They persecute anyone that isoutside of the Christian faith,
anyone that considers himselfpagan.
We know that's an umbrella term.
It can mean many differentreligions, just not one that
falls under the Abrahamic faith.
All different religions aren'tquite welcome in this country,

(04:23):
even though we know that they'resupposed to be.
When we start talking aboutpolitics, we can look back and
we can see that it's always beenthe left or the right that has
handled the presidency, andtoday we have an America that is

(04:45):
so far beyond what it was, anAmerica where we pay enormous
taxes, an America where mostpeople can't even afford to live
on a daily basis.
We struggle simply to eat, topay our bills, to pay for
electricity, the basicessentials, and this is the

(05:09):
America we live in Capitalism, industrial we have.
The greed and the selfishnessof people in power have taken
apart so heavy in America thatit is truly them and us, the

(05:32):
rich and the poor, the poorbeing the mice that run on the
wheels to keep this countrygoing by the rich, they stand
back and enjoy all the fruits ofour work.
We live in a country that nolonger is we, the people, but it

(05:56):
is we and them when we starttalking about politics.
What is the right thing?
We've got people right nowtrying to put religion back in
schools.
One religion, mind you, not allof them, just one.
We've got Christiannationalists that want to submit

(06:16):
and bring in biblicalprinciples into our law.
That we need the Bible back inAmerica, they say.
And anybody that's read theBible back in America, they say,
and anybody that's read theBible I mean truly read the
Bible has to see that there's noway we could ever implement the
things within Scripture inAmerica today.

(06:41):
Some things, obviously, yeah, there are some things in there
that you know.
The words of Jesus said manygreat things, but there's things
in there, and I've said thisbefore on another podcast.
They say we got to teach theBible in school.
What are we going to teachchildren?
That it's okay to sell ourdaughters if we need to.

(07:02):
That it's acceptable to Stone arebellious child to death.
You know that it's acceptableto have slavery.
How are we going to implementthis in this country, in a free

(07:24):
country?
You say, well, we just don't,we don't apply those.
But you'll hear these peopleevery day.
This is the one, this is theundeniable word of God, the
entire Bible and people thatjust simply can't be.
We cannot live in 2024 like theylived 3,000 years ago.

(07:46):
We have grown, we have becomemore enlightened.
We understand that, man andwoman, though we are different,
we are equal.
We understand that governmenthas no business in the role of

(08:06):
family.
It has no business telling thefamily what they can do, what
they should do or what they willdo.
The government's sole purposeis to ensure the freedom of the
people In today's America.
What they've done is suppressand hinder the will of the

(08:29):
people, that 85 to 95% of therepresentatives and senators
that we have today in presidencyaren't for the American people.
They're for themselves orthey're for the paycheck.
They're for themselves orthey're for the paycheck or

(08:50):
they're for the lobbyist in theAIPAC.
These things must be destroyedIf we're to bring back the real,
true America.
America is about freedom.
America is about freedom foreveryone, no matter what race
you are, no matter what religionyou are, no matter what gender

(09:13):
you are and no matter whatgender orientation or pronoun
that you are.
We live in a country that wantsto criticize and put down so
many people for the way theylive but yet demand respect for
the way they choose to live.
That's not America.

(09:33):
America is not left and is notright.
It is not Republican orDemocrat.
We are Americans, and Americansbelieve in one thing Freedom.
Most of us believe when we say anation under God.

(09:56):
Many of us have differentperspectives on that.
We have different gods, we havedifferent goddesses, we have
different religions, we havedifferent aspects of our
spirituality that we call God,and then some people choose to
not have such a deity in theirlife, and that's fully

(10:19):
acceptable.
Why?
Because this is America and weare free to choose the way we
want to live, and there's nojudgment, there is to be no
persecution, for each man, eachwoman, has the right to choose

(10:41):
for themselves the way they willlive and the way they will die.
There is no right.
I hear Christians all the time.
Radical Christians, say thatyou're not obligated to listen,
but I'm obligated to tell you,and I'm here to tell you, that
that is not true.
We want to preach.

(11:02):
All the time I hear it that Godis in control.
Well, if God is in control, whyare you obligated to do this?
Isn't God, isn't your God,strong enough to tell me himself
, to show me himself, and you'regoing to say well, that's why
he sent me.
Do you truly think that amajority of us in this country

(11:28):
have never heard of the Bible?
How in the world could you saythat you've never heard of a
Christian church when there's ahalf a dozen in every town in
this country, that you can'teven turn the TV on or turn the
radio on, or get on Facebook orget on anything without being
bombarded by a Christian radicaltrying to tell you to change or

(11:52):
you'll burn in hell.
We don't even strive to loveeach other anymore.
We want rules or we want.
We have to have I'm trying tofind the right word.

(12:12):
We have to have a certain, wehave to get something in return
when we give it.
In this world, if we givesomething, if the church gives
something, they ask for thatperson to be a member of the
church.
Gives something, they ask forthat person to be a member of
the church or to work for thechurch or to.

(12:35):
There's always something thatsomeone wants in return, or they
seek the glory for it when theygive it, and these are the
things that should never happen.
In order to give, you have togive from the heart, never
wanting anything in return.
You know, I heard it said theother day and it's absolutely

(12:57):
true that if the churches inAmerica, if each church just
sponsored one, maybe twohomeless people, that we would
end homelessness in less than 24hours, that there would be
absolutely zero homeless peoplein America in less than a day.

(13:23):
But our church focuses more ongoing to other countries and
destroying cultures, just likethey did here with the Native
Americans, and I know a lot ofwhat I'm saying cuts deep, but

(13:43):
it's the truth.
America's about freedom, and alot of us our ancestors and
their ancestors spent many, manyof a time taking that freedom
from everyone else, and now weare about to lose our freedom
due to our own ignorance, ourown stubbornness and our own

(14:07):
arrogance.
In order to bring back America, the America that each one of us
know in our heart that wedesire, we've got to give people
that freedom that we wantourself.
You want the right and thefreedom to be the person that
you are, to walk the streets andto carry the cross if you want

(14:30):
to, and to go to a church threetimes a week if you want to.
That's wonderful, but yourneighbor has the same right If
they choose to live a lifestyleof a same-sex marriage, or if
they live, if they're a lady andthey choose to be a man, if.

(14:57):
Whatever the situation is andthere's many different
situations whatever thesituation, the point is if you
want freedom yourself to be whoit is that you are, in order to
be truly America, you must giveyour neighbor the same right.

(15:20):
This isn't about religion, thisisn't about God.
Freedom is freedom, period.
You're going to say well, mynation, I cannot live.
God says this and God.
What we have to remember isthat is your God, that is your
religion, that is your tradition, and I understand that you

(15:41):
believe it to be the only one,the only true one, and you
believe we have to break out ofthat mindset.
You have to break out of thatmindset.
You have to break out of thatmindset if we ever want peace in
this world, if we want peace inthis country.
Let people be who they are andlet judgment come.

(16:01):
If judgment is going to come, but let it come between them in
spirit, not them in you.
We have no right to judge.
Most Christians I hear say that, yeah, we're supposed to, we're
supposed to make a rightfuljudgment.
But how can you make arighteous judgment when you

(16:22):
yourself admit that you're asinner?
Even Jesus himself said he thatwas without sin cast the first
stone and everybody had to walkaway.
That's where we are in thiscountry.
We need to focus on our ownlives, on our own, the stick in
our own eye.
Don't worry about what yourbrother's doing.

(16:43):
Don't worry about the dragqueens down the street and what
they're doing.
Don't worry about the prideparade.
Don't worry about all dragqueens down the street and what
they're doing.
Don't worry about the prideparade, don't worry about all
these things around you, butjust worry about you, in fact,
most of the things that aregoing on in our country, like
pride parades and all thesethings.

(17:05):
Why do you think they have todo this?
It's because people have foughtand fought to quench them, to
hinder them, to take any amountof freedom away from them.
They've been beaten in thestreets just for being who they
are and loving someone, just forloving them.

(17:28):
We live in a country that keepsscreaming about how great we are
and the freedom that we have inthis country, but it seems like
you only have that freedom ifyou're a white Christian.
And yeah, I said that becauseit's the truth and it might hurt
, but it's the truth.

(17:48):
We live in a country ofmultiple cultures and traditions
and we have to respect that, wehave to honor that, that we
cannot have a culture thisdiverse in order of one religion
in our schools, in ourcourthouses and whatever, and

(18:09):
especially in politics, becauseI'm here to tell you now any
politician that wants to shouttheir religion and shout their
names of their God and what'sgoing to happen here and quote
scripture and do all these otherthings and only focus on one
religion while they're speakingto their constituents and their

(18:33):
voters, then they are an enemyof this country, because what
they're preaching, what they'retelling, will limit every other
culture besides that oneparticular religion.
Why would you put somebody inpower that's going to strip

(18:56):
every else, every taxpayer?
Because I don't care if you'rea Muslim or if you're a Buddhist
or a Hindu or a pagan or anatheist.
If you're a taxpayer in thiscountry, you have all the same
rights as any radical Christian.
But if we're not careful, ifwe're not careful, we're going

(19:19):
to go back to what I call theDark Ages, a time when religious
zealots run things and manypeople are going to be hurt.
I can tell you that I foreseein the future and it's sad that

(19:40):
if a person is elected and I'mnot even going to give any names
, but you'll know who I'mtalking about If this person is
elected and they bring in theseideologies of Christian
nationalism and radical extremeright theologies, there will be

(20:05):
minutes, they will be much painand much chaos in this country.
We will see devastation andsuffering like we haven't seen
in a hundred years.
We have to stop.
We always think that we got tobe left or we got to be right.

(20:26):
No, look deeper.
There's always other optionsand they try to hide those
options from you.
Look to those other options.
We have the Libertarian Party, the Green Party, we have
independence, but they try topush these people away.
They try to push these peopleout of the political scene

(20:47):
because they don't have the bigdollars, they don't have the
lobbying and the bigcorporations to back them up, so
no one sees them, when theseare the true Americans.
These are the people that willsave our country.
Why?
Because they know.
They know what an American isbecause they've walked it, they

(21:12):
have lived it.
They know what it is thatAmericans need and want because
they've lived it, they'vesuffered through it and they've
watched their brothers and theirsisters suffer beside them
while rich politicians donothing but fill their own
wallets.
We can make change, but you gotto break out of this cycle of

(21:38):
left or right.
The answer to saving Americaisn't Christianity and it isn't
Republican or Democrat.
It is something completely andutterly different.
I need you to find thatdifferent.
Look to those people.

(21:58):
Research who is running.
I myself am running for USSenate Because I believe right
now that's where I can do thebest work that I can be a voice
of the people, but look deeperat the presidency.

(22:19):
Look who's running.
Look who loves the people, notjust loves the dollar.
Look who will look to equalityof all religions and all
traditions, rather than just one.

(22:39):
We've got politicians right nowsaying that they're going to
we're going to have the biggestmass deportation the world has
ever seen this country has everseen, and that breaks my heart
Because, even though, yes, Ibelieve that we have to have a
good, strong security and aborder, I believe that there's a

(23:05):
better way.
I believe that there's a betterway.
I believe becoming a citizen istoo difficult, that the way
needs to be much easier and thedoor needs to be much wider and
more clear to see and avenuesthat are much easier to approach
.
But it feels like there's justso much hate and bigotry in a

(23:32):
country that's supposed to befree.
What are we afraid of?
Are we afraid that someone'sgoing to come in and take what
is ours?
Like we took from someone else?
Our ancestors came here andthey destroyed everything.

(23:53):
They took from everyone.
They slaughtered anybody thatwouldn't conform and then they
went to war with their owncountry in order to gain freedom
.
Don't get me wrong I love thiscountry, but the facts and the

(24:14):
truth is the truth.
We cannot be hateful uponpeople that merely want a better
life.
We owe that to the world.
To open the door to such betterlife, we need to go back and

(24:40):
ask forgiveness for the thingsthat our ancestors did and make
things as right as we can.
When I start talking aboutpolitics, I'm talking about
bringing people together, anawakening of the heart and soul,
bringing people together inequality, in equal opportunity.
Coming to the facts that weunderstand, what happened was

(25:08):
there's just no words for iteverything from what happened to
the Native Americans to whathappened with slavery, what
happened to our children, whatwe did to women, our ancestors.
You know we've come a long way,but we've come a long way, but
we've got a long way to go, butI think we're going to take a

(25:30):
few steps backwards if we're notcareful.
We need a person that will leadus for us, not for them.
That is, for everyone, not justone particular mindset of
people or one religious ideology, but everyone.

(25:58):
2024 is coming up.
We've got to make a choice.
Don't just be what most peoplewill be.
I've been a Democrat for allthese years, or I've been a
Republican for all these years.
Shake that off, friends.
Focus, listen to your heart, listen to spirit, look deeper.

(26:45):
Today is about change,restoration.
Our planet is in jeopardy.
Wildlife is in jeopardy.
We ourselves are in jeopardy.
We can change this.
We can bring America back again, or I believe that we can make
America truly great, greaterthan it's ever been, because I
think a lot of people, whenthey've said America is so great

(27:07):
, they merely said that'sbecause they were indoctrinated
to say that that America reallyhasn't been that great.
We've done a lot of harm andwe've made many, many, many
people suffer For what we calldemocracy, when in all actuality

(27:28):
it was about the dollar bill, power, resources, and I
understand all these things, butthere comes a time when where
do you draw the line between ourluxuries and humanity Lives and

(27:49):
wants?
We're going to come togetherreal soon.
This world's going to lay downjust the idea of financial
prosperity and we're all goingto be focused on the prosperity
of humanity and of each other, and we need the diversity of all
of our cultures together, allof our gods and goddesses.

(28:12):
We need us all together withthe same mindset, to love each
other, to help each other, toguide each other, to empower
each other and to reach outbeyond the stars and maybe do
something more rather than justkill each other on our own
planet that we also destroy.
Consider this this week.

(28:38):
You know what?
I don't want to get on here andjust talk about myself, but
remember Richard Kent for USSenate.
Many people go by RichardRavenbrook because Ravenbrook is
my magical name.
Richard Kent is my legal namefor US Senate.

(29:01):
If you feel like you need thatyou would like to endorse or
help in this campaign, please doSpread the news that somebody
is ready and willing to step inand bring true equality into
this country once again and toeliminate the haters from all

(29:23):
the bigotry.
But way beyond me, look at theother people that are running
for president Jill and manyothers.
Thank you everyone for justtaking the short time to listen.
I hope I haven't offendedanybody.

(29:45):
I know some of the things thatI've said are rough and it hurts
, but we've got to get to thepoint where we start speaking
the truth and understand thetruth within us and where we
come from in this country andwhere we're going to go in the
future.
Be blessed everyone and blessedbe.
