(00:00):
The regular season for 2023 is over and it is about to go down
the wild card games. Everything is about to change.
There's fourteen teams left and we are going to talk about
everything. This is Are you guys ready for?
It so exciting. There is so much to unpack.
(00:22):
Firing of coaches, injuries, I mean, finally.
Yeah, we're going to talk about it all.
But first of all, I just have toget this out of the way.
I don't know if you've noticed my sweatshirt and I have to give
it to my Papa, Joe. It'll be 10 years this week that
he passed and I thought it fitting that he represent today
(00:47):
because without Joe Madrid we all would not be here right now
because he taught me the game and I just wanted to make sure
he got his flowers today. We love that how you go.
With that, all right. So thanks for my sweatshirt, but
let's talk about it and let's gostrong.
First of all, Miami versus the Bills.
(01:09):
What is happening in Miami? I mean, I would, I would venture
to say that most people are a little shocked, yes, by the
game. Would you agree?
Yeah, I mean, it was a game where you almost felt like both
teams were really playing for something, but not really at the
same time. And then it got a little flat,
(01:30):
and then you got Tyreke Hill's house being set on fire during.
The machine? Yes, like.
Stress. Well, you know what's so funny?
And for our newbies who probablydon't know.
So this is part of what we love about watching and being a fan
of the NFL. There's so many players, and
then these players have lives outside of FOC.
So Tyree kills one of the best wide receivers in the league,
(01:54):
and he plays on Miami and his house caught on fire now.
Middle of practice mind. You But but you know what I
thought? Well, the first thing that came
to mind was remember when left eye set set set, set.
Her boyfriend was his name DeAndre or whatever on the
Atlanta Falcons? She set his house on fire
(02:14):
because she was over him. Well, did you guys know I'm and
I have the stat. I'm just saying he's had three
kids this year in four months. Wow, so.
When they So when they said his house caught on fire, I'm like,
oh, that's a baby's Mama. Not gonna be.
I'm just saying. I mean.
I'm no math expert. I know no Two baby Mamas filed
(02:36):
the paternity suit this month and he fathered, I think 3 kids
with like a few moms. Yes, yes, it's very Nick Cannon.
Very Nick? Cannon asked.
Nick Cannon's not going to like you saying that.
He put work in. There.
Well, I'm sorry this podcast is taking a turn, but at the end of
the day, listen, his house caught on fire and he's getting
(02:57):
ready for what I would. It's not really a playoff game,
but it it it matters because of the seed.
So whoever wins that game will be playing at home.
So distracting, how could you focus, yeah?
So and it $2,000,000 worth of damage, by the way.
So let's talk about the game nowthat we got the personal
Tyrekes. Yes, I.
(03:18):
Mean. What did you think about it?
Miami was just so out of sync. They were just so out of sync.
They're missing waddle, clearly. And I think it was just the
Bills just had a great game. Josh Allen just showed out.
It was a great turn out by the Bills and Bill's mafia came in.
I think that also had a lot to do with it.
The Bills fans overtook Miami. I would have to disagree though,
(03:39):
what the Josh. I don't think Josh had a great
game. No, I don't.
I think that he got saved by hisdefense.
I think he got saved by his special teams.
I mean, he looked better than hehas looked.
The Madden curse didn't overtakehim, right?
Yeah, yeah. The Madden Curse, right?
Well, just so you know we're clear, Josh.
Josh had two interceptions in the end zone and he fumble in
(04:03):
the first half. They were.
They came back from a lot. But that's a classic example of
your defense having to come in and save the day.
Defense and special teams save the day when you're holding
Miami to what, 14 points? Yes.
I mean, that's what's going to end up helping you win in
serious playoff situations. So between the two right now,
especially because the Bills aregoing to be at home, kind of
hard not to favor the Bills in their next match up.
(04:25):
Well, I think, and you guys know, throughout this year I've
called Miami 49er Junior, right?Because they stole my offensive
coordinator from the Niners, Mike McDaniels, who I love.
We could wear the same outfits. You guys know that, right?
I love his watch, I love his shoes.
I'm like, I am so in his closet. But besides that, I think a lot
of people would put this right back to what they've been saying
(04:48):
is that Miami can't beat good teams and they're showing it.
The last good team they beat wasDecember Dallas, they beat the
Cowboys. So everybody that they that they
win really have losing records. So they're not playing anybody
good. And so here we are again, You're
playing the Bills and you can't get the win.
(05:11):
Let's look at the stats, by the way.
They were 00 first quarter. Nobody scored, right?
Boring. Boring.
And then Miami went up. It was fourteen to seven in the
second quarter, third quarter, no points again.
And then the fourth quarter. And This is why these teams You
cannot let these teams hang around.
(05:31):
You can't give people a chance. In this league.
You can score 7 points with 40 seconds.
You just can't leave it. And they they let the Bills hang
around. And then the fourth quarter they
came up with two touchdowns. One was a 9495 or 96 yard run
and that just lit. That just lit the bill's mafia
on fire and they smell blood andthey took over.
(05:54):
Break the. Tables.
Yeah, right. Break the tables Bill's.
Mafia. Oh my goodness, so.
WWE, That's what they do. And it what's funny to me and
you guys know how I always thinkabout the Intua, which is the
quarterback from Miami. Yes.
Was just like, what? Last week talking to the the
journalist. And he was like, I keep the
(06:15):
receipts. I keep the receipts meaning like
I'm keeping an eye out on who's talking about me.
Well, we have the receipts and you didn't win and so.
Here's the receipt. And also, what the hell does
that mean? It's a thing.
It's. The Internet, we have every
receipt. Yeah, that's true.
So I don't know. I just think that I, you know,
(06:37):
the Niners are an amazing traveling team.
We know. But Bill's Mafia, I would say
it's a close second because theytravel.
Oh yeah, and there was a ton of Bills fans in Miami.
It was. 40° warmer in Miami thanit was in Buffalo, so they were
happy to leave town. Want a home game?
(06:58):
Yeah, I don't want a home. I want to go to they.
Were in shorts, They were looking at a bathing suit.
They were like, this is great, yeah.
That is so funny. Yeah.
So the Bills will take on the Steelers at home.
Yep. And Miami, which will be
interesting. Barry Miami.
He's going to Kansas to play Patrick Mahomes, Taylor Swift
and Travis Kelsey. Yeah, I'm just saying.
(07:20):
It'll be good. I mean, so that's going to be
interesting and this is kind of the the the other thing why we
love football so much is Tyreke was formerly a Kansas City
chief, right, we. Love this kind of like bitter.
Right here in the rivalry. Remember the space?
Oh. Yeah, yeah.
And so now Tyreke, he's going tofix his house first, and then
(07:41):
he's gonna go back to where he wasn't.
Oh, there's. Lots of those.
There's lots of those this. Eagles losing to the Giants?
(08:19):
They've won six games out of 17.That's not a good record.
And they had nothing to lose. They're out of the playoffs.
Eagles were just in the Super Bowl last year.
They were just in the Super. Bowl Eagles.
The Eagles were just 10 in one. It was just 10 and one and they
finished eleven and six. You guys.
(08:40):
That was a straight nose dive. They've lost five games out of
the last 6. And what's what's changed in
those five games? Happened in the last like almost
two months. And you have.
Jalen hurts, I know. Yeah and and Jalen Hurts I I
got. I have different issues with but
like. Say.
What has happened to? Patricia happened.
Maddie. Patty came in and he came in.
(09:03):
And this is the the Patriots curse.
It's the the Patriots coordinator that is the single
handed only thing that's changedin the last couple months for
this team. They were ten in one eight weeks
ago Matt Patricia came in and the team nose dive.
Is that a coincidence or well, is he the reason?
Here's the thing too. The Eagles lost.
(09:25):
And I've asked Eagle fans, especially on our page.
I'm like, they were fly, fly allover when they were ten, were
silent in the last like six weeks, right?
Yeah, but their offensive coordinator went to Arizona, who
they actually lost to last week, right?
Jonathan Gannon, their defensivecoroner with his name.
(09:45):
Sean Shane Stakeman or something?
I don't know how. To say his name went to the
Colts. So he's a head coach with the
Colts. The Colts are in.
And so you have to sit there andwonder, they they they still
have A.J. Brown.
They still have Swift. They still have Hertz, and you
(10:05):
have to wonder. By the way, ground healthy?
Well, by the. Way the QBR for Jalen.
He's #11. Wow, he's #11.
And the turnovers. Guess what number he falls out
of the The most turnovers. For quarterbacks, he's #4.
Here's. The thing Here's the thing.
So you wonder what's going on with the Eagles?
I think some of those. Things.
(10:26):
A lot of those things. But here's the thing with Jalen
Hurts. Jalen, what is happening?
You are limping into the playoffs.
At this point, I wouldn't say you deserve to even be there,
but you're you're the you're thego to guy, you're the
quarterback. You make more money, have a
short term memory, shake this off, move on, you're going to go
play Tampa, who by the way, theycould win.
(10:46):
Well, Tampa has the second best run defense in the past month.
So who's going to be running foryou?
Whether it's Jalen Hurts, Swift,Browns coming back, I don't
know. But you're going up against a
team that knows how to stop the run defense.
You have to get creative. And as of late, the Eagles
haven't been creative. It's not fair.
I would say, I would go on to say that Nick Sirion, the head
(11:08):
coach who in my opinion we talked about this last podcast,
talks a lot. Talks a lot about.
Head coach. Most head coaches don't talk
like that. Would you agree?
You let the players do what theydo, but as a head coach, you
kind of rise above right? And I just keep going back to
him leaving the tunnel at Kansaswhen they beat Kansas talking
(11:31):
smack. And you've won one game since.
So there's a Nick Sirion. I think you're felt like you're
a little bit too big for your britches.
And now here you are. I think there's discord in the
locker room and I'm sorry and I'm going to say it and you guys
know I'm a Jalen Hurts fan as a person, but if I see one more,
(11:54):
like pouty face from him, I know.
No, no, seriously. Every every single time the
camera turns to him, he's like this.
He's like like there's nothing there and then.
But the one thing you want to show me is your freaking finger.
OK, I got it. You hurt your finger.
But you didn't hurt your finger five games ago, right?
(12:14):
You lost. Exactly.
And now you want to show us to everybody.
You hurt your finger because youlost this.
No, I'm not going for it. No, no, I know I'm not going for
it. I'm not going for it.
Something's up in that locker room.
Athletes that have played with broken fingers.
Yeah, stop it. Stop it up.
Get back out there. I don't want to hear it.
Yeah, I and I I'm sorry to the Eagles fans.
(12:35):
I was a little rush that was a little harsh, but it it's.
I'm not even an Eagles fan and I'm frustrated for them because
I can't figure it out. But I will tell you if they lose
this week, in my opinion, you have to look at Nick.
Sorry, that's fair. You're not going to not pay
Jalen Hurts. You already paid him, which goes
(12:56):
back to my other four podcasts ago when I talked about if we
were an owner and I throw you guys in here, you may or may not
agree with me. But if I was an owner, and I'm
sure there's reasons why we can't do this, but This is why I
swear to you I would be like, you know what all these
quarterbacks are making 250. Sixty, $70 million and none of
(13:16):
them are on the field This like dish on to whatever over 200
million not playing Jalen Hurts 200 and something and he's not
winning. You've got all these
quarterbacks. So I go to you know that Janet
Jackson song, what have you donefor me lately?
And I say, you know what? I'm going to pay you 3,000,000.
(13:37):
Four million a touchdown? Yeah, and I'm gonna -350,000 per
interception. A little incentive based, yes.
Yeah, and that way I'm not out of check.
At the end of the year, it's fair.
Fair. It's fair.
And now I'll give you an incentive if you make the.
Plan How do you pay them for their time in practice and the
hours they watch film? And I'll pay you.
(13:59):
I'll pay you. Yeah, I don't know a minimum
wage. How about that?
How about that? I'm paying you 3 million A it's.
A show, a little show. Hey like contract about there.
Pay me nothing and make me earn it in the.
End there you go. I'm just saying.
I'm just saying, I mean, if I ifI'm a owner and I wrote 200 and
X $1,000,000 and you're not playing this year, I'm a little
(14:20):
hurt, right? I'm a little painful to me.
I don't know, it's probably why I couldn't.
Probably I would be a horrible owner only because I I would be
so beside myself. It'd be so hot, be so hot to the
collar. No, but now it's time to talk
about. This game doesn't matter, but
don't don't get angry about it. I'm not angry, but.
I'm just saying like I'm actually.
(14:42):
I wasn't. I'll be honest with you.
So we're talking about the Niners and the Ram game, right?
It was hard for me to watch. Why?
Because, no, that's why there's so many other games going on
that actually mattered. And you guys know I love my
boys. I watch every game.
I watched it, don't get me wrong, But it was hard because
all of my number one players were on the bench.
(15:04):
Because we have they. Should 100% we so for the
newbies? Yes.
So I mean it's we're going into playoffs.
You want to keep your key players healthy.
This is so important because because going into the games
that really count that are getting you to the Super Bowl,
which is the ultimate goal, you need to be healthy and have your
(15:27):
players, you know your best players, all healthy.
So it's not important this week unless you really need it.
Certain teams do. The Niners do not.
They've already secured say thatone more time.
The Niners do not. Thank you.
People in the back, the Niners were the number one seed.
And for the newbies, what we're saying is these teams fight so
long to get the number one seed so that they can actually have
(15:52):
everything you just talked about.
That way they have the last gamethey can sit, their starters,
yes, many of them are hurt. So you want to rest.
Stringers get to play and the third stringers in the second.
Fourth string kicker out there right now?
Yeah. For that, yeah.
And you're excited for the guys that don't get to play and now
they get to play in front of their families and their
(16:12):
friends. But you're also looking for hey,
that guy's good. So right.
So like Mitchell, our running back.
Elijah Mitchell. Love him.
So now I'm like, OK, God forbid knock on whatever.
If my boy CMC went down, I'm notas freaked out because Mitchell
was showing out and then but butall that to say though, all that
(16:34):
to say, the Rams and Niners havea fierce rivalry.
Regardless, you could have the parents playing each other and
it would be like a big deal because the Rams and the Niners,
they always want to kill each other, right?
But the Rams had something to play for.
They did. So you know, it was it was an
(16:55):
interesting game And yes, the Niners lost.
What concerned, I think, which was concerning for most Niner
fans, is our kicker. Right.
This is a problem. I'm I well, I shouldn't say this
is a problem. It concerns me because Moody our
new kicker this year. We've been blessed with Robbie
(17:15):
Gold for years. Robbie Gold like never missed
and this is a big thing as a as a football fan.
Those kicks, how many games? I don't know the stats, but how
many games are decided by a kick?
I'll tell you what. In the playoffs, A.
Lot. A lot.
A lot. Playoffs.
Three points means a lot. And you have to be able to rely
on your kicker and when you havea good kicker as a as a coach,
(17:38):
you coach that way. I know I have a good kicker.
And if you don't have a good kicker, now you're going at it
at 4th and two on the, you know,30-40 yard line because you
don't trust your kicker. So it it's a lot going into
that. So Moody concerns me a little
bit. On top of what we already talked
about last podcast was that my boys under Kyle Shanahan shout
(18:00):
out, love you guys, but they don't win unless they're winning
in the fourth quarter. They don't come back since 2017.
Those are facts. With this game though, I think
the Rams really had an opportunity to work on what they
needed to work on, which was therun game.
Okay. So they're going to be going up
against Detroit. The key to a victory against
(18:21):
Detroit is going to be possessing that ball, playing
the play action. Limiting Detroit.
Don't let them have 12 differentsessions.
Keep them to 8. You know, and and what I love
about this game is it's a battleof the grumpy quarterback.
It is you got. Goff and Stafford all right.
Oh, we're going. Oh, we're going there already.
Yeah, we're. Already going?
There. Oh, we're already going there.
(18:42):
So we. Went you got to break it down a
little. Bit I'm going to break it down.
OK, so Stafford used to play forthe Detroit Lions.
Left amicably. Everything was fine.
No big deal like Shakans and left.
This will also be the first postseason game at Ford Field
for Detroit, for Detroit. This is amazing for them.
Shout out. You know, we're going to see
Eminem and Jack Harlow. Oh my gosh, just saying.
(19:02):
Starting it out there. But then when you take a look at
Goff. Wait, wait.
But. But Goff came from the Rams.
Goff. Came from the Rams and now he's
over in Detroit. Won a Super Bowl.
Won a Super Bowl. With the Rams.
And then about a year and a halflater, two years later, they
were like, oh, we don't really want to pay attention to you.
Goff didn't have a great exit. No, it was a messy.
(19:24):
It was a messy mess. Yeah, so Goff is here to be
testy. Yes.
And rain on someone's parade, OK?
Well, let's go back shoulder. But let's go back to the Rams
for just a second, because I think it's important.
So the Rams won the Super Bowl in 2020.
Yes, I believe it was their second ring.
OK, I'm just throwing it out there.
So when you guys talk to me about the Niners, I go, oh, call
(19:46):
me when you guys at least have 5.
Anyway, my point being, the Ramswere the first team, I believe,
to win a Super Bowl and then thenext year didn't even make the
playoffs, right, with Goff, right.
So that started the whole golf thing.
And we talked about this when there was a trade between Goff
(20:09):
and Stafford, I was like, wait, same person, Same person.
This is like they look alike. Their stats are alike.
Yeah, it's the same vial. And I was like, why would they?
I just thought it was weird. Did you guys think it was a
weird? Trade.
They're very, very similar styleof quarterback.
Yeah, it would be like Jimmy G and car like switching places,
right. Would be like okay.
Well, that's like almost the same stats.
(20:30):
You guys don't quite look alike.I think many would agree Jimmy G
is a little cuter, but you get what I'm saying.
Yeah, like it was kind of like the same guy, just going on
different teams. But that does kind of lend some
thoughts to what we've talked about as well.
Sometimes you just need to change a scenery.
Right. The coaching, everything has to
be lined up in place for there to be success.
(20:51):
It's not just having a great quarterback.
Right. Right.
So yeah, yeah. So.
I'm rooting for the lions, yes. I mean, come on, you could.
It's like the underdog. Story I know to go to.
The worst season ever and then coming out and do the Come on
guys. Don't you want to see Dan
Campbell cry? Don't you just want to see him?
I don't mean his tears. What?
You know, I'm going for Detroit all day long.
(21:13):
Yeah, Detroit's defense shows upand then you know, if if Cooper
Cup is healthy, if Nikola is healthy, that's going to be a
little dicey. But I think Detroit's D is
tough. I think Detroit's going to take
that wild. Card.
Their heart is in it. Their heart is in it.
Their fans are losing their mind.
They can't lose at home. They just can't.
And Eminem needs to show up. And halftime we.
(21:34):
You need, I think, Kid Rock spaghetti like you.
Can't bring out, bring out the Motown.
Somebody from Motown should be doing the.
Giveaway cars for. Last night.
This is Detroit. This is Come on.
Show out yes. But we do have to give some love
to a player that I think we all love and that was Puka Nakua
(21:55):
Samoan, Portuguese descendant but hugging his mom?
You got to love that and and regardless, he broke the record
for a rookie receiving yards since 1960 with 1473 you.
Most yards and most receptions. I love puka.
I'm just saying the mom thing isgetting a little weird.
(22:19):
Why cut the umbilical cord a little bit?
I chose. Love for mom?
Yeah, right. I bet you he's never had a
girlfriend. He has a girlfriend.
She's super cute. Does she?
She. I hate her over.
Here. Haley.
Her name was Haley. I followed her on Instagram.
Mom. Like Haley Instagram, that is so
cute she. Looks like does mom like Haley?
OK. I don't know.
I don't know that. I don't know that.
I'll get into those. I'll, I'll dig.
(22:39):
I'll dig but. I love him.
He's a Peach. Look at his.
Face I know. He's a sweetie and I'm happy for
him. Yeah, broke 22 records, most
yards, most receptions and by rookie.
And yeah, it was just it was a pride bowl.
It was just it was just for pride.
I think that was what it was and.
It was for pride. They finally beat us at home.
Whatever. What did he do?
(23:01):
And you know all the Rams started chiming in.
I get texts. I'm like, OK, well, when when
you guys win with your #1 squad, let me know Right now you beat
my back up. You give me a break.
The. C.
Team. Brother.
Yeah, I'm gonna hear it. Yeah, and only, like, by what,
one or two points? Anyway, let's talk about some of
(23:22):
the I mean, this was crazy Atlanta.
Housewives. It was like housewives.
Oh, this? Is good Atlanta Falcons versus
the Saints Atlanta already out? Yes, they're both.
They're both out. They're both out.
So that's even more. Crazy it was.
Let's talk about it. Do you want to explain?
Do you want to set the set the stage for the whole victory
(23:45):
formation? I mean, it was just, it was a I
feel like the game was just so contentious.
Even though they were playing for nothing, it was. 41 to 17,
Yeah in the 4th. Quarter and you just felt that
creep in of like it was startingto get kind of just dirty ugly
you know and they're you just start beating A-Team by so much
and you're just kind of like OK like let's just wrap it up they.
(24:07):
Don't like each other, they. Don't like, Yeah, the AFC S
right? Yeah, there.
There's always been drama between the two teams and you
know, Arthur Smith, the head coach of the Falcons, was not
happy. OK, so this is the drama.
This is the Housewives level drama.
This is where drama starts. As we were saying, the Saints
were already up by enough. They're 41.
Like enough 41 to 17. One play left in the game, take
(24:30):
a knee. You know the.
Coach, the coach calls. What we're getting into that.
So Jameis Winston was in now. He hasn't had a lot of playing
time. So Jameis Winston wants to get
his, you know, 5 minutes. Don't get me started.
No, we're gonna. So Jameis Winston decides we're
going to run for a touchdown. Game's over.
Supposedly the whole team. We're gonna get into it.
Wait, wait. Are you trying to set the stage
(24:51):
'cause we we we can't? Wait to talk about that.
I'm doing it. So then Arthur Smith goes for.
Stages. Yeah.
You guys help me remember what'sthe Saints head coach name?
I'm I'm blanking out. Arthur Smith goes to meet Dennis
Allen. Dennis Allen in the middle of
the field and starts screaming. That was effing BS.
That was effed up yelling. He said.
What the are you doing? Hold on, 'cause I don't think
for our newbies especially, I don't think they understand.
(25:12):
So let's talk. To the.
Victory. But they don't know what victory
formation is. Right.
That wasn't the big drama. No, it's running the score.
No, but it's all part of the victory formation, so let's back
it up for just a second. So in the NFL, right?
It's kind of like a. Respect.
Respecting that when a team. Is winning by that much.
(25:34):
Is winning by a lot with a minute to go and you're by the
goal line, you just, you kind ofjust what they call take a knee,
meanie, we're not going to like score, right?
Taking a knee means we're not going to score.
We've. Already won.
We're going to just let it go. They said they should take a
knee. I know, but most some people
don't know what taking a knee is.
OK, so taking a knee means like,we're just not even going to try
(25:58):
to score. And that can be a big deal,
especially for the gambling world.
Sometimes that could be a thing.Anyway, So they, Dennis Allen,
the Saints coach, called in the play.
We're going to take a knee, right?
So what happens is everybody pretends that we're going to run
a play and nobody really does anything right, The players
(26:19):
just. Don't.
He makes that call. They go into a huddle, right?
Players go into a huddle, right?Conversations had right and then
it does not. And and then run out the clock
and the game's over. But.
So the Saints lined up in that victory formation.
So the other team was like chilling thinking that it was
(26:39):
going to just end. And what happened?
The Saints did what? So pretty much James Winston
said this to his coach and the rules and said I'm going to run
it in for a touchdown. He didn't run it in the.
Running run, run for a touchdown.
But then in the locker room interviews when they were
interviewing him, Jameis Winstoncame out and said no, this was a
(27:00):
team decision. This was an entire team decision
to. He went back to the huddle.
We went back to the huddle and decided to go touchdown.
But then when Saints coach went to do his press conference, he
came out and said I want to apologize, that's not who we
are. This isn't who we want to be.
That wasn't the play that was called.
Right. Yeah, but here's what What
(27:21):
happened is in the huddle. They changed the call.
In my opinion, Winston Yeah, so they wanted so, so they wanted
their running back. OK, one of the running backs, I
forget his name. One of the running backs had
just got to the Saints. He hadn't scored a touchdown all
year. Yeah, and I think he scored like
17 or something. He had an amazing year before
(27:44):
that, but with the Saints he hadzero touchdowns.
They were like, this is our chance we're going to get.
In the huddle, something happened, I think it was
Jameson, Winston said. Hey, you want to score a
touchdown? Yeah, OK.
But the call is no formation, you know.
Formation. They're second, They're second.
And so it was a team decision, right?
Yes. So we're just going to kind of
(28:06):
like, fake them out and score a touchdown.
Because they all had to actuallydo that.
I mean, right? None of them, actually.
It wasn't like some of them tookany.
So as. Yeah.
Yeah and so as to Sanazas point,so now the games over and why
this is a big deal is because now all you know, whenever the
games end, the coaches always meet in the middle of the field
(28:27):
and they shake hands, right? Well, this handshake didn't go
down because the other coach, Arthur Smith, was.
Pissed. He came in hot.
Right. He was yelling.
Like screaming. Didn't he Like Casa I?
Believe what the first thing that I was up was.
What the are you? What was that?
Or what are you doing? And then, you know, they
proceeded to have a conversation.
(28:48):
And then Dennis said, you can hear him going, I understand, I
understand. Because what he was trying to
explain is I didn't make that call.
Right. Now, if you were a head coach,
if you were Dennis Allen and andyour team did that to you, how
would you feel? Would you?
Would you care? I would probably never have
Jameis Whiston on my team again.Yeah, what about you?
(29:11):
Yeah, I would not like that at all.
I would feel so underminded and so caught off and.
Publicly. And publicly and having to go
now, see this other person who'sscreaming in my face when I
didn't 'cause that, really, It'snot my fault.
And you know, Arthur Smith knew he was gonna get fired.
He knew he was playing for his job.
(29:32):
And so it was just like spinningin his face when he was already
down. And it just, that was the part
that was so, like, icky feeling when you're watching it back.
Like God? Really.
Yeah, if I was the owner, Jane Jameson, is that how you say his
name? Winston, who is like, barely
hanging on the NFL, by the way, not even like a good quarterback
(29:54):
because you've had so many otherissues off the field you like.
Wouldn't you just want to just? Stop.
Like you're you're you have an Xon your back already and now
here you are. If I was the owner, he'd be
fired from my team and I would maybe even fire the head coach
because clearly you don't have ahold of your players.
(30:17):
They don't respect you. They just overrode you and in
public, bad luck. I'd probably, and with that
record, I'd probably be like, you know what?
You're gone, you're gone. And I need to find some
respectable coaches. And I just think I I would be
shocked if Winston stayed there.I really would.
Same, I really would. But it was like a big deal.
(30:38):
So we'll see what happens. Both teams are out.
Yeah, both teams are out. Bye.
See you next year. Bye, see you next year.
But guess what team is not out. No Packers.
Did not see that coming, you guys.
Wow. Can we talk about it?
I. Mean friend of the show.
We have some friends of the show.
But no, it was it was a really. I mean Jordan love you guys did
(31:01):
you I he's been he's been on theup and up but this was just.
Wow. Wasn't it like the beginning of
the season? We were talking and nobody had
love for him. He said where we were saying
where's the he? Was awful in the first.
He was awful. But the last few weeks he's
really turned it up and and I think Green Bay's really turned
it up in the past few weeks. Unfortunate.
Hey, this is going to be a game.Talk about the Dallas.
(31:24):
They're going to go into Dallas and this is going to be crazy.
But before we go there, let's give some shout outs to Jordan
Love because remember his birthday.
Your birthday. Thank you.
Scorpios are in the house. Jimmy G, Jordan Love and Monica
Madrid all were born on November2nd.
We won't sale the years, but we'll just give you the date.
(31:46):
And Jordan Love is from Bakersfield, CA.
So we'll give him some love. But he was 27 for 32316 yards, 2
touchdowns, 0 intercept, 0 interceptions.
By the way, I'm just throwing this out there.
He is better than Aaron Rodgers when it comes to his first
(32:06):
season. Just a little stat.
Rodgers was 6 and 10 in his first season, and he is also
better when it comes to fewer sacks as well.
So he's just and he has a betterpasser rating than Aaron Rodgers
which I'm excited for because I think sitting behind Aaron
(32:28):
Rodgers for how many years with Aaron's drama and.
Aaron's drama. Can you imagine we have to?
Talk about that we we'll get there.
Can you imagine what that was like?
No. And just waiting for his chance.
Waiting for his chance. So I think he came in.
Yeah, he came in in 2020, round one, pick 26.
Remember that drama? Because Aaron Rodgers was still
(32:50):
their quarterback, right? So when Jordan Love came in,
that really started the whole. Beginning of the end.
The beginning of the end with Aaron and Green Bank, right?
Would you agree with that? Absolutely.
And now look at him. And now?
And now look with his ayahuasca.I can't.
With this weird. Between the ketamine therapy
and. Jesus.
(33:12):
Picking fights with Jimmy Kimmel, like what are you doing,
Aaron? Oh my God.
That's right. Yeah.
What are you doing? I.
Are you? So obsessed with Epstein's list?
I don't get it. Guilty conscience, Maybe.
Guilty. Conscience.
Here's what I will say. Green Bay is going to have to
work on that run game against Dallas.
Dallas came into Week 18 with like bottom five in the run
(33:34):
defense right now. Dallas, however, is electric at
home. Dallas knows how to turn on
their offense at home. They're they've won sixteen
straight in a row at home. But defensively it's been like,
you know, nothing that great. Thank goodness for CD, Lamb and
DAC, but other than that, it's kind of like they're here one
day, gone the other, you know. So that game to me will be
(33:54):
really tough. Yeah, I'm obviously, look,
Dallas is the better team. Dallas is better than Green Bay,
right? But the momentum Sunday, and
that momentum might be all you. Need an injury can take out?
Not called upsets because they're fun.
Yes, yes, yeah, exactly. He.
Let's see. Jordan left 8 touchdowns, 1
interception in the last eight weeks.
(34:16):
I mean, that is is so impressive.
So Doc better. Yeah, 100%.
He better be healthy as can be CD.
Lamb better be as healthy as canbe.
Rested, aware film watched. Ready to go 'cause that's.
Do you think the Cowboys view this as a dangerous game?
They should. They should.
By the way, let's add another part of it, which is like
(34:38):
Vanderpump Ish and like, it's House of Wives.
Like, guess where McCarthy was before.
So the head coach for Dallas McCarthy?
Another one. Where did he let go?
Where was he was Green Bay? So again, you get to see another
little bit of drama between these teams.
McCarthy was with Green Bay. He was let go, went to Dallas,
(35:02):
and now he's going to be going against his former team.
I mean, you can't write well, you can write this right, 'cause
this is all scripted, right? This is all scripted.
It's all scripted but falling inline that before we wrap up,
we'll go back to some of these games.
Because I want to know, I don't want you guys to tell me yet,
but I want to know which game are you more excited?
(35:23):
But don't tell me yet, But we'renot going to leave here.
There's still so much to talk about and it seems like years
ago, but we can't leave here without talking about the 909,
right? Bring it.
Bring it. Bring it.
Oh my gosh. Let's talk about CJ Stroud, our
hometown hero. OK, just from the get, OK, it's
(35:43):
like he gets the ball. It is the first play of the
game. He comes in hot with his 75 yard
touchdown pass on his first offensive play versus the Colts.
I mean seven for 782 yards. Tamiko Ryan just changed that
team up 8 top to bottom. Why you gotta bring up bullshit?
I'm sorry. I'm sorry I changed the
(36:04):
organization top to bottom. They are so exciting to watch
right now. Another underdog.
You just can't help but like, want them to win because they've
been without for so long. It's just you want to give them
a little love. But how fun is this story going
to be? The Browns Texans quarterback
thing? Like, both quarterbacks have a
great story. You're talking all this about
(36:24):
CJ, Like, honestly, Rookie of the Year candidate?
Absolutely. Oh, for sure, He's.
Yeah. Change the team around.
Joe sitting on his couch eating Doritos a couple weeks ago.
Out here now playing phenomenal.38 years old, which is like 80
in the NFL world. But the Browns, like you just
(36:45):
said, have had pretty much one of the best defenses out there,
and Joe is not a mobile quarterback, so that's what they
really have to be careful about here.
But let's talk about Houston. I'm sorry.
I meant yeah, the Browns have a great defense.
But that's why I'm wandering about CJ Strout.
He's the one who's got to be a little concerned.
Yes, yes, of course. Yeah, well, let's go back to why
(37:07):
I said why I got to bring up oldshit.
Because the Miko Ryan's was a Niner.
Another Niner coach. Yep, our defensive coach.
I hate this, Honestly. Every time.
Stop being so good. Stop being so good because you
don't take your coaches, that's what.
Happens as soon as your team does great.
Just so you know, enjoy it whileyou can because your coaches
will be gone next. Season.
Absolutely, because all the assistant coaches, all the head
(37:30):
defensive coordinators, offensive, they're gone because
now they get it. I mean, I should be happy for
them because they get a chance to become head coaches or
career, which is great. But it's hard because you
finally get a team that gels. You finally get your offensive
coordinator, your defensive coordinator, head coach and all
these moving parts. And then next year they're all
gone, right? So this was part of my
(37:52):
irritation. Didn't I hold on to that
resentment? You did six months.
D'amico 'cause I really liked him.
He was our defensive coach, but I am so proud of him.
I. Mean.
He clearly learned lots from theNiners, has implemented it, and
is just winning. Doing great things.
But what I really liked is everytime you see CJ Stroud after a
(38:13):
game, the humble, the humblenessin him always giving glory to
God. You just can't not root for this
guy. Unless.
Somebody's a nice boy. And he grew up without a dad.
His dad's been incarcerated for most of his life.
He could have grown up to be bitter.
He could have grown up to be wanting to prove something, to
(38:34):
be ultra masculine, to just be like, you know what, I'm the
man. But despite everything he's been
through, he's just the opposite of that.
Shout out to CJ Stroud's Mama. Let's give that woman her
flowers. She raised a great kid.
I'm sure she had some help. But, you know, it's hard being a
single parent. And that kid, he's great and
he's growing on the field. He's growing into his own.
(38:56):
He's getting better every week. And you know, you talk about his
dad being incarcerated, talk about that.
On top of that, everyone. Well, you didn't do so great on
that test. Everyone's calling you dumb,
basically, and he took it with stride.
He has this piece to him and nowhe's going to come out and he's
at a playoff wild card game. Explain a little bit about that
and that he was from the 909. Yeah, but about the cognitive
(39:20):
test. Yeah.
So when you are going into the NFL as a rookie, your rookie
year, you take a quarterback test.
It's a cognitive test. It goes over kind of like your
leadership, but also just your cognitive skill, how you think
about things, how you break downproblems and patterns.
And he scored like 18 out of 100.
It was like one of the worst scores I think ever to be
(39:42):
recorded. And so it was between him and
Bryce Young, right as a number one draft pick.
The Panthers took Bryce Young and a lot of that was thought to
be because of C, JS, low test scores.
The film was was there, but the test score wasn't.
And so, ultimately, Bryce Young went went over him.
Where's Bryce Young now? Oh.
(40:02):
The Panthers where's Bryce Young?
Have. Drinks.
An owner who's throwing drinks at people, That's what's
happening with the Panthers. They haven't.
Won. Did they win two games this year
like I think it was? I have it on my stats somewhere,
but not. 2 masks. They're not a lot taking.
Drinks out of the sweetest. Frustration.
Not that it's OK, but that's thefrustration.
Yeah, So I think that's amazing story and like you said, but but
(40:25):
I don't think we can leave this part of out because the Houstons
were playing the Colts. Yeah, and there was that.
Do you guys remember that last? Play Oh yeah.
OK, Tyler Minshe, Minshew. Garner.
Yeah. So, Garner Minshew, yes.
Garner Minshew, the quarterback for the Colts they had, wasn't
(40:47):
like fourth and one or fourth and two or something, and they
were thrilled. All they had to do was make
this, and they were they were making a run for it.
They could have beat the Texans. And then this guy, Tyler Goodson
dropped a pass. A perfect pass.
And close, No, I wouldn't call that.
Perfect. OK.
Yeah. It was a little short.
I'm. Interested.
It was a it. Was a little short.
It was catchable. It was catchable.
(41:07):
It was catchable. It wasn't a great pass and he
got massacred on social media. My heart broke for.
This the locker room. Did you see the locker room
interview? This guy's because now your
whole fan base is upset because you dropped the and this is part
of like the NFL. It was like Decker last week and
then the reporting and it was just that that horrible feeling
(41:30):
of you felt like it was all yourfault.
And here. And your favorite, your favorite
thing. Like these questions by the
journalist in the locker room. The guy Just probably the worst.
What did he say? 3 seconds of your career and the
journalist is like, how do you feel right now?
And the guy's, the guy's crying and he's like I I quoted, I
wrote it down and he says I'm, I'm feeling like a failure and I
(41:53):
just like broke my heart. And then he said, but my guys
are here to pick me up And it was just like, oh these
journalists like can you ask himsomething?
I don't know. I just it was.
It's written all over his face, how he's feeling, yeah.
Crazy journalism it just when you don't have anything to
really ask and you're going to go for something simple.
And what you don't understand iswhen you ask a question that's
(42:13):
too simple, the response might just be as simple.
And it wasn't good, and I didn't.
Like it? I didn't like it.
I think Garner was still reelingover the Raider game with Crosby
when he kept calling him a little ass boy.
And you know, like Garner was like, he's so angry.
Garner. Crosby so angry?
Like I don't think he shook thatoften, though.
No. Garner Minshew, by the way, got
(42:35):
into the league. Since 2019, draft round six,
pick 178, he's been bouncing around Jags.
He's never been anywhere more than two years.
He was with the Jags and he was with the Eagles and he was the
Colts. And I have a feeling after this,
after that pass, you're going toend up on another team next
year. That's just my guess.
But the Texans are going to Cleveland, and that's going to
(42:57):
be. And I like how CJ Stroud too
said. You know we're whatever our our
record is for the season for playoffs we're back to zero.
Yeah it starts over starts over. And so it's just that's think
that's the thinking of going to get them through you know to.
Add to that game, Don't forget Deshaun Watson, who should be
playing for Cleveland, who is also hurt after he got his bag
(43:21):
and countless allegations of sexual harassment.
Just going to throw it out there, which is karma in my
opinion for you even signing him.
Shame on you Cleveland. Sorry.
And she's a woman owner and thatjust irritated me and I just
went there. Sorry, but that's my opinion.
Sorry. And so am I mad about it?
No, not really. I I'm happy for the fans, but I
(43:42):
think that you're anyway gettingpolitical.
My point being that Deshaun Watson was on the Texans.
Yeah, remember that? Remember that?
And now he's on Cleveland. And guess who has a chance?
You see what's on the? I mean the script that the NFL
writing Good job, good job as screenwriters.
(44:04):
Even though there was a wasn't there a strike.
They're doing good. I'm doing.
Great. They're doing good with that
strike. There's so many other games.
What I mean, what else? I think we.
We've got a good amount. I mean, for the most part, like
the Steelers are, are, are in it.
You know the. Thing that I always like to
remind people those OK, so playoffs are starting.
Maybe your team is out. Whatever.
(44:25):
But guess what's still going on?The coaching carousel.
Oh yes, Black Monday was yesterday.
Black Monday is what they call the month.
The first Monday after the regular season ends because it's
firing day. So Ron Rivera got let go from
the commanders, Arthur Smith gotlet go from the Falcons, and
Mike Rebel got let go from the Titans.
Now that was just on one day. Dude, they.
(44:45):
Didn't even let Arthur Smith getto the parking lot.
No, he was fired. Like in like within seconds of
that game. And and but so now it's all
these questions, right? Like, OK, so then where's
Belichick going to go? Where's Rivera going to go?
You know, the the Harbaugh. You know, Michigan just won
Monday night. You know, big win for him.
Like is Michigan going to offer him more money?
Is he going to stay there? Is he going to come to the
(45:07):
Chargers or the Raiders? We don't know.
So there's still something to look forward to, Chargers fans.
Something to keep us going, you know, so just keep your.
Eyes as a Chargers fan, Who do you want?
Harbaugh you do. As a Chargers fan, I want
Harbaugh 100%. I do not want Bill Belichick.
I'll say this again, I refuse tobe a fan.
I wouldn't either. Like, oops, You could say.
And coach, it's Aaron Rivera. OK, really.
(45:29):
I like she likes. Remember the famous?
The famous? It's only famous to us.
Remember when she was like, Ron?Rivera's a great coach.
I'm like. He was a great coach when he was
a Charger. And he's Hispanic and I love him
for that. I'll take Love you Ron.
Two options, but great coach, I don't think.
I mean, did you? See, the Red Raiders should keep
with what they got right now. Yeah, me too.
(45:51):
About that. Oh, me too.
OK. So all of these rumors, 'cause
now it's like we're all these coaches gone.
Rumor mill. Remember, Jen got killed for
saying that she wasn't sold on AP yet and she was a Raider fan.
Yeah, and the Raider fans came after her because they love AP.
AP is Antonio Pierce grew up a Raider.
Frank grew up a Raider fan from Los Angeles area.
(46:13):
He's Super Bowl winner. He's got the character, yeah,
players love. Him players, he's a.
Player in the team. Did you hear that?
Headed to the game? He pulled out and like got out
of his car and went and hugged abunch of Raider.
Fans, not just any car. An Impala, we have to mention
that. I mean, that is worth
mentioning. But yeah, they they love him.
They. Were writing.
His name at the end of the game.Yeah, AP.
(46:36):
As a sign? As a sign to keep.
It but this is I don't know if you guys saw this but I put on
our social media. Make sure you follow us by the
way if you're not make sure you subscribe.
If you're not, and make sure youdownload our app.
If you're not so many gotta talkabout the pickups and.
Rate it five stars. I'm telling you, it's bomb, yes.
Rate it five stars. But now what if Jim Harbaugh
(46:59):
wants to go to the Raiders and now you have AP there?
I think if you override AP, you're gonna have issues.
You're gonna have issues. I think so.
With the fan base, I don't. I don't think they're gonna,
but. AP has to go to another team.
They, AP will not stay on that staff and be demoted.
Oh, that'll. Be really bad in that.
(47:19):
Way. Technically I agree with you.
Technically he's not demoted because he's interim, right?
But to me, he earned it. He did earn it.
So then Jim Harbaugh. Where would he go?
And would he go back to Michigan?
The. Chargers.
He's already. Or Atlanta.
No, he doesn't want to go to Atlanta.
He's going to go to the Chargersunless Michigan pulls out a
giant check to keep him there. But here's the interview with
(47:43):
the Vikings, too. There's been all kinds of
rumors. I mean, I don't know who the
sources are. Constitutes as an interview.
Well, don't get me started. Thank God you can't interview
during the playoffs anymore. D'amico Ryan's Mike McDaniels.
That's why I was so pissed last.Year they.
Were they? Were they?
Were how they left when they were.
Interviewing why we're in the middle of playoffs.
(48:03):
You can't do that. It's so annoying.
But before we leave here, let's talk about two things.
And one of them, we just have tospend a little bit of time on
Bill Belichick because that is abig story.
Where's he going to go and do you think he'll stay?
Send him out to pasture. I say get rid of him.
(48:24):
Let him go live his life in the open fields where his
sweatshirts can be cut free. I hope he goes to the Chargers
just so I can hear some Nas all year.
Next year I will never. I can we do that can.
We do that. I will not be a Chargers fan
next year. I will sit out.
You're a Niner fan. If.
The Chargers end up with Bill Belichick.
I will be like an NFL draft player.
Like Eli Manning. Not going to.
(48:44):
Yeah, yeah, I'm. Not.
I'm not involved in football this year.
I do not care. No, dude, he's done.
He's had a great career. What?
You know what? It ended with a sloppy mess.
You're not going to have a reason.
Will he go to college? Sure.
Go to a Division One, Division Two school and, you know, live
out your life and get paid your money and what do you care?
Yeah, he'd. Be huge.
He's still loved division. One school you know.
(49:05):
He's not going to go backwards. He's not going to go backwards.
Oh, here's the thing real quick, though.
Like, if I'm Bill Belichick, we have a horrible roster.
We have AI, don't know that I'd want to stay.
And I and I created it. That's the thing.
I created this roster. I'm the one that hired all these
guys or recruited. And so I think he's older.
(49:28):
I don't think he wants to reallygo to a different team.
I think he'd be like, hey, my bad, I got these players and our
first. If I was crapped, your first
like red flag would have been you wanted to get rid of Tom
Brady for Jimmy G That was the first red flag that you're
losing it. You're losing.
It. I'm sorry.
I love Jimmy G but over Tom Brady.
(49:48):
Hello. That would have been 7172.
Oh, my goodness. I don't know.
But that's. It's going to be interesting to
see. Yeah.
And there's so many things to talk about.
But before we go, let's give to our wild card predictions.
I'm going to go with it, Melissa.
Detroit. We already know, right?
(50:09):
Detroit Rams. If your money, though, was on
it. Detroit, Detroit, Detroit, we
have. Detroit MCDC we have.
OK, it's unanimous. Detroit over the Rams.
Yes, All right, Steelers Bills. Bills.
Buffalo Bills. Sorry, Mike Tomlin.
I don't know, man. Josh can't seem to hold on to
that ball. They play better at home.
(50:31):
I don't know. I don't know.
I have to think about that one, Miami Chiefs.
Oh my oh God, I want. To say Miami, This is why I
don't bet I. Want to say Miami?
I want to say Miami, Yes. Miami, Miami.
What do you think? Arrowhead used to be a tough
place to win a game at. All of a sudden this year, it's
not. I'm still going to go with
Kansas City here. They're going to turn into
playoff mode. I hope so.
(50:52):
I'm going to go with the Chiefs because.
I hope so for Taylor's sake. I do too.
I do. I would like to see them move
on. I'm going to go with the Chiefs
because I think Pacheco is holding that team together.
The wide receivers better catch the ball, better catch the ball.
Too many drop passes and Kelsey's got to come on.
Everybody's got to calm, bring the heat.
I think they're going to be. I think all that frustration is
(51:15):
going to show out. Now we're never.
Now we're never. OK, Cleveland Texans.
Texans CJ Stroud. Flacco 38 or How old is CJ like
22? I'm going to go with the Browns
because of their defense and Flacco's experience.
Fair. OK, that's fair.
I'm going to have to take the Texans at home.
(51:36):
D'amico is going to be on fire. He's going to have his team
ready. And CJ is.
I don't know. I'm going to go with the newbie,
the new blood on that one. All right, Dallas Green Bay.
Dallas home Turk you. Know what I'm going to say,
Green Bay? After all the information I gave
you. It's just out of spite just
(51:58):
because I don't like you. I'm going to.
I'm going to break the tie. There's hell no.
Am I ever going for Dallas GreenBay.
Do your thing. Do your job, Jordan Love.
Show out and shut those Cowboys down.
Sorry. I mean, she's got.
It go, go. And then the last one.
(52:18):
Eagles versus Bucks, my Lord. No, no, the Eagles will take
that game. I think the Eagle, I think the
Eagles will take it, but it's going to be close and it's going
to be ugly. If I If you ever hear me say,
I'm going for Baker Mayfield. Check best.
Buy I know, but check my pulse so I can't bring myself to say
(52:41):
it. I just can't.
I'm just going to hope Jalen Fixfixes his little finger and gets
it together. I'd like to see them go a little
further. No one wants to see the Bucks,
let's be honest. Other than the Bucks fans, who
else wants to see Baker Mayfieldin the next round?
Give me a break. Well, I think that's it.
We hit it all. And as always, keep it sexy.
