(00:02):
It is Friday and we are here with Kwame Siegel.
What's up? Hey, hey, hey.
Thank you for having me. Yeah.
Man, I'm so blessed to have you.We we always do a walkout song
here on football Sexy. And I said, what do you want it
to be? And you throw on some sheisty
summer and here we are. Look at you looking fly.
(00:24):
I just wanted you to know I tried to match your energy and I
did not know you were gonna weargold.
But look at this. Are you killing it?
Are you doing the thing with theLevison?
I mean the ducks. Because I see the way you move.
I spray carpets. I was like, I'm going to put
this velvet little situation on it.
But let let me give you a properfor the people that don't know,
(00:45):
this is Kwame Siegel. He's a correspondent of BET plus
NFL Network, the Bachelor of Comedy, Baltimore, Prince of
Comedy, and I say king of fashion.
And it is only right that you are here football sexy, because
you, my brother, fit right in. I appreciate you.
Thank you for having me. That was great.
(01:07):
Good to see you out here. You know, this is a big day for
me. I was circumcised yesterday, so
like the world, the world is mine today.
Let's go. I always learned so much about
my guests, but I didn't know we're going to learn it right
off the top. OK.
We're going to talk all things football, as you know, this is
what we do. But I want to talk a little bit
about you and tell me a little bit.
(01:28):
I mean, we got to start with theApollo Theatre and, and how that
really started your career. Tell me a little bit about that.
You know, I'm originally from Baltimore, and you used to do on
Wednesdays, Wednesday nights, use you to Apollo, you know, and
just go up there and say your thing.
And as a comedian, like, there'snothing better than like,
(01:50):
succeeding in New York, period. But at the Apollo, it was just a
blessing. I think those are the best
places to play. New York.
Carolina's Miami. And you were like, how old were
you were you were like I? Was probably 16 something at the
time. And then that's why I first met
Eddie Griffin. But even before I met Eddie
Griffin, I used to lie to the club owners in New York that I
(02:12):
opened up with Eddie Griffin before I even met him because he
was just as an established legend at the time.
And he was still the only legendat the time that was still on
the road. And so I just said Eddie Griffin
and I'm like, even, you know, we're best friends now.
He's my, my brother, my uncle, my godfather, everything.
And so it's just like, you know,Eddie, yo, I used to like lie
and tell people that I opened upfor you just to get on things.
(02:34):
Like, I know, *** fake it till you make it.
He always be like but it's crazyjust how you have to speak the
power of the tongue to speak into existence.
I love that. And I heard that about you, that
you, I, I, I call it pre planning, right?
You manifested that. And when I heard that about you,
I related, because I don't know if you know this, but I told
(02:56):
everybody in 7th grade that not only would I meet Prince one
day, a musical. Legend.
I literally said this, he will send for me and all of my 7th
grade people first were like, who's Prince?
And then they were like he's going to come, you're going to
meet him. He's going to.
I said, yeah. I said, not only I'm going to
(03:17):
not only am I going to meet him,he will send for me one day and
guess what? It.
Happened. It happened, he sent for me and
I have a lot of Prince stories and.
Because you're a musician, right?
I started out in music, right? Yeah.
I was on Soul Train, center stage.
I was going to say center stage because if I'm being on Soul
Train, I'm not going to be on the dance.
I want to be on the stage, went down the Soul Train line, all
(03:40):
the things. You do look like one of Prince
Baddie's, like a Apollonia or something like that.
I could see that. I could see.
Take that. You know, I could see that.
Thank. You.
I'll take that all day long. I used to hang out with Vandy.
Wow. Shockingly enough, I never met
Apollonia. But Vanity.
Yeah, we used to kind of hang out.
We actually went, well, it's a free I podcast.
(04:01):
I say whatever I want. So I'm sober 17 years.
Congrats. I actually went.
Thank you. I actually, my very first
meeting was with Vanity. Vanity took me to my very first
meeting and showing up, which iscrazy.
I didn't get sober then, but let's not get crazy.
But so, yeah, I have a whole Prince thing, which I wanted to
bring it back to because CharlieMurphy, like, tell me a little
(04:23):
bit about that. God rest the dead.
After I told with Eddie Griffin I got with Rich Murphy.
That's a Charlie's cousin. He's, you know, the Murphy
family. And man, I, they'll tell you
that I could really make Charlielaugh.
And that's such an honor to me. He was such a funny dude.
And it's, it's it's unfortunate that we lost him because I feel
(04:45):
like Eddie Murphy, young Eddie Murphy, delirious and all of
that. That's the young Eddie Murphy.
But then I feel like Charlie took over where Eddie stopped
doing stand up and Charlie became the master.
I mean, people don't understand.Like he was just getting there.
Like, I mean, he could always make us crack up in the green
room and we'd be like, yo, Charlie, why don't you talk like
that on stage? And he started to start.
(05:07):
He started getting to that neck, like, you know what I'm saying?
To really, really get in that lane where he was just a master.
And I just learned so much for him because he has so much
humility. He would just tell me how he was
to get booed off the stage over in Saint Louis and whatnot and
how he had caught up Eddie 11 morning, like 3:00 in the
morning. Like Eddie, you know, I just got
(05:30):
booed, man. And Eddie said, who do you think
you are? Do you think you're Richard
Pryor? Who do you think you are that
you're not going to get booed? Everybody got booed up.
Leave me alone with this shit, *** And Eddie hung up on them.
But no, But Charlie had that kind of humility to even share
those kind of stories because ascomedians, we go through so many
battles, you know, we we're battle tested just through the
audiences and whatnot. And so just to learn from
(05:53):
Charlie, hear all the stories and you know, because when, when
Eddie was in his prom, like Charlie went to prison and he
became like A1 percenter in prison and whatnot.
And you know, he, he, he's experienced so much.
And he was still a street *** Like he was still like walking
around with like 7 stacks in hispocket, right?
Right. He was like, he was the wild 1.
So just learning from. Him.
(06:14):
Yeah. And I think everybody knows
that. Charlie Murphy, the Prince
story, right? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, he always
tell us Prince story for. Some of the youngins, can you
give us the the the bullet points?
That's the story for if you don't know this, you got to look
it up. But it was famous back when we
were growing up. Well, yeah, yeah.
I mean, you know, just Charlie was like, became his own social,
like being, you know, a famous brother in town with Eddie
(06:36):
Murphy at, you know, his height of fame, Beverly Hills Cop and
whatnot. And they would hang out with
Prince and Prince would cook them pancakes and they'd play
basketball and whatnot. But what's so funny is that Fast
forward, when I used to tour with Charlie, I remember we did
a show at the Brea Improv and like Charlie's youngest brother
Vernon had this celebrity housewife show.
(06:58):
It was like a celebrity show where they're like Jose
Canseco's ex-wife. Well, yeah, I remember.
Eddie Murphy's ex-wife Nikki andPrince's ex-wife.
Mai Tai. Mai Tai And it was like, I
remember coming into the green room after, you know, opening up
for Charlie and it was, I remember Nikki saying I was so
funny. I was, you know, caught my
mother. Like, you know, Eddie Murphy's
(07:18):
wife thinks I'm so funny. And, you know, Prince's wife was
in there, you know, Sediti and whatnot.
But it was just, it was just surreal, you know, all this
talent, all these people and such a small world.
Oh my. God and Prince, just so you
know, we're the exact same size and we were the exact same shoe
size. You can ask me how I know that,
(07:38):
but it's in the book, right? It's in the next.
Five. No, I'll tell you.
So my time I did finally get to meet Prince.
And the reason why I brought that up is because you talk
about Charlie Murphy. They used to play basketball
together and they were like, Prince literally not only played
basketball, but he played in hishigh heels and still fucked them
up. Oh, I know.
About it. I know it was the high heels.
You didn't know that? I know he played in high heels.
(08:00):
Oh. Yeah, yeah.
And when I was with Prince at his house, he actually offered
to make an apple pie for me. So he was quite a chef, huh?
He was. Wild like he was wild.
He was everything I think peopleprobably would think he is, but
Oh my God, I, I, I love that. And you are the Prince of
comedy. So we're going to definitely
(08:21):
keep keep talking about you. But talk to me a little bit
about the NFLI, like how the, the comedy plus the football is
kind of coming together. How did that happen?
And what talk to me about that. Well, you.
Know it was a blessing. Like I feel like after the
pandemic, my life, my career really changed drastically.
(08:42):
I had an opportunity to work with BET plus I was already
working with earthquake in Quick's house, you know, my my
DMV brother Earthquake at Kevin Hart's studio.
And it brought me a lot of opportunity where I started
doing break harpists and whatnot.
And then like as a comedian myself, you know, a lot of
comedians, they dream of being Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, you
(09:02):
know, Richard Pryor, Chappelle, Katt Williams.
When I was little, I always wanted to be a single hall.
I always wanted to host the show.
I always wanted, I always just wanted to uplift my guests,
everything and whatnot. And so the NFL provided a
platform for me and just Dex Santos from the NFLPA vice
president has been a great mentor to me working with the
(09:25):
Los Angeles Football Network andthe 2 Ryan's over there.
They put me with the Rams camp and whatnot.
And big shouts to cat over there, Artiste cat in the front
office. And then Todd Gurley.
I don't know if people know thisTodd Gurley from Baltimore.
So I known Todd Gurley for like 10 years prior because through
Wiz Khalifa they type. So you know, one time I, I met
(09:47):
Todd and he was like, yo, I'm from Bournemouth.
We, we start rapping. I always invite him to my shows
and whatnot. So when I first got the gig with
the Rams to do the training camp, I hit Todd to pull up.
Yo, let me get an interview withyou.
You know what I'm saying? Come through this week.
I'm going to be there all week. And he pulls up and like I'm
telling you right now, Monica, everybody who wasn't on the
field, even the audience, was just like listening to our
(10:09):
interview. I.
Love it and I'm. Asking him like I'm asking him
like unconventional questions like was it does he like boss
man D low or or young dog or whatnot?
We going having fun and what I did not know Monica.
I did not know that was this first time at the Rands facility
since he's been cut. That's so.
Crazy so that. I had all this animosity from
like the media division from the.
(10:30):
They're like. How do you get here?
How did he? Get this interview and I'm like,
that's my brother. So it was, it was, it was, you
know, serpent deputies, to say the least, this.
Is such a small world because Michelle does his hair.
Michelle's my girl who does my hair.
Stop playing. I swear to God, he was.
Braised in his life, he like those twists.
It's just. So weird And, and, and let's
just give a shout out to our girl.
How we got here is through PennyToller, WNBA legend.
(10:54):
Yeah, first woman to ever score a basket and a free throw in the
WNBA 3 championship rings. I mean, she gonna be on the
podcast. She don't know yet, but she
won't be on it. You need.
It on it, yeah, she need to come.
Penny's such a sweetheart. I mean, to take over things
that, you know, the ice House was a historical landmark and
take over things and just upliftit.
(11:14):
You know, it's kind of like whenColbert took over Letterman.
You took over something that wasvery good and just even make it
better. I mean, that chandelier in the
green room and just the hospitality and just even I
think with Penny is she doesn't she didn't know all the
comedians, you know, she knows the famous ones, of course,
because she's already, you know,in the Lakers vicinity.
But to just all treat us the same, meaning that all with
(11:38):
respect and just trying to get to know us.
And she's, you know, just a beautiful person.
But we need more spirits like that like that.
That's truly what I see in Pain 100.
Percent. And she's actually the president
of football. Sexy as well.
Yeah, yeah, I'm smart. I know what's up.
And you mentioned Arsenio Hall. I love him as well and I got to
get him on here because he's a die hard Brown fan and I would
(12:01):
feel like I always want to talk to the fans that like are Jet
fans or Browns fans. You have to have a sense of
humor to to still be a fucking fan of The Jets and Browns.
Am I wrong? Am I wrong?
You do. Well, let me let me tell you
this real quick. Let me tell you this quick
thing. So what do the Ravens and the
Orioles have in common that's not just them being birds?
(12:22):
Oh God, you're setting me up. You're going to get this.
You're going to get this I. Don't know.
OK, they both ended up they all. They both begun their time as
Browns. The Ravens were the Cleveland
Browns and the Orioles were the Saint Louis Browns.
Oh, OK, OK, look at you trying to bring me on game.
Come on. Come on, That's on sports
trivia, right? I see you.
(12:43):
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, but we got so much
to talk about. But let's let's switch it over
to what's going on in the NFL right now, right?
What the helly. Oh, man.
And being a bachelor are you? I'm assuming you're still a
bachelor. Yeah.
Yeah, I'm outside with it. I don't want to.
Be all in your business. But Sean Alexander, running back
great for the Seahawks, just announced this week that he's on
(13:05):
his 14th child. He's got.
Almost three NBA teams. That's one way to look at it.
What? The fuck, I'm just saying and
and we got to interview him at Super Bowl on meter row last
year and he was on 13. I had no I thought he was done
14 bachelor comedy. How do you feel about that?
(13:28):
Talk to me. I mean.
I'm the pull out king so I don'thave those kind of problems.
I don't have those kind of I can't relate.
But I mean, brother, come on, man, it's very expensive.
Enjoy your wealth, enjoy your wealth.
Breaking it down to all those baby Mamas is a lot because, you
know, working with Eddie Griffin, Eddie Griffin had nine
kids. I think he's might be, might be
at 10 right now. I don't know, 9:00 to 10:00.
And it's like these are millionaires.
(13:50):
But you have to also understand it's like when you pay those
baby Mamas now, it says there's alimony, but you got to pay the
rent, you got to pay the tuition, this kids tuition,
everything like that. You know what I'm saying?
It's a lot. It's a lot, see?
I don't have to worry about these things, but I'm just
saying this is this is nice. And can someone look it up?
I think Sean actually has all ofthose kids with I, I think he's
(14:11):
married. I need to figure out, but I
don't know that there's a lot ofbaby Mamas.
It doesn't matter. It's still 14.
I mean. There's at least six, Yeah.
I mean, if it's fourteen, it's all right.
What's the over and under? And then I'll have my team find
out what's the over number, giveit to me.
I would. Say over 6.
Over 6 momma. Can.
(14:31):
Ben, let us know. All right, we're going to get
back to that. Now, I know you're a Raven fan
and I know we were texting a little bit on the on the game
the other night. Man, oh man, I had to put them
on here. What the hell is segment?
Derrick Henry, my guy, bumbling 2 games in a row.
Yeah. Tell me what is going on and how
(14:52):
you going to fix this and do youreally think you're going to get
to the Super Bowl with this kindof defense?
I'm just saying, you know? What I think it's the universe
right now, like giving us this kind of adversity.
So by the time the playoffs comes, we'll be on point.
Like everybody knows we have thebest team on paper and we have
the best team on the field. That Bills lost first game of
the year, it could easily went to us, of course.
(15:14):
But I think through this adversity, we're going to learn
and we're not going to be big headed and think that we got it
all and we need this. We need this because if we went
undefeated right now, we're going to beat the Chiefs no
problem. But I feel like if we went
undefeated right now, we would have really been gassed up by
the time the playoffs come, and that's what we don't need.
It's all about peeking at the right moment, right it's and a
(15:36):
lot of times, so I always tell people don't you can sleep on my
team in the first four games, but it matters middle end what
what happens. That's why my my poor boys were
injured, were so injured, my Niners were so injured.
But I'm not worried because it'sstill early and somehow we we
squeaked out three wins anyway. But you got a peak at the right
(15:57):
time. We got it over and under.
One, one baby Mama. I told you 14.
Yes, and 2025, yes. Let's wait.
Let's give it up for Sean because he's Sean got 14 from
the same woman I told you my. Goodness.
Like I thought that that stoppedhappening in the 40s.
I did not know the people were still doing that.
(16:18):
That's. Love right there.
Wow, that's love. Interesting.
You know what we got to have hiswife on.
We I don't need Sean on. I need to talk to Mrs. Alex.
Yeah, we will put that on the next but but back to your to
before we go too far away from the Ravens, Derrick Henry, I
just want you to know that I think he was one of the best
(16:39):
running backs and I was shocked that Dallas didn't pick him up.
He ended up on the Ravens. You've got one of the best
quarterbacks in the game, got one of the best running backs in
the game. The.
Best the best, correct? OK.
I'm just saying, do you really, what do you think he needs to do
mentally to get through the fumbles?
You know, I, I just think that first of all, that's not.
(16:59):
Normal first of. All that strip fumble was
different just coming from the back.
I think that he is right now toomuch in his head.
But I think that is it's just the first three games like we
good. Yeah, OK, we're good.
Like we're, so we're so good. Like those fans say that.
We good and then like week 6 we're like fucked.
We're like we are fucked. He's a.
(17:20):
Perfectionist and I think, you know, out of sometimes you try
too hard. But that what?
Hutchison knocked that ball out,Yeah.
I mean, yeah, what are you gonnado?
That was. A Pro Bowl move and that will
never happen again in Life, OK? We'll, we'll see.
I'm gonna play that back. It's rare.
It's rare. Flex or Next, our next segment.
(17:41):
And I know this has been a big controversy on Ursay.
The woman owner, Carly being on the sidelines, she's got a
headset on. She's listening to plays.
It's a big thing. Yeah.
What are your thoughts on that? I think it's bossy.
I think that's a flex, right? I mean, it's like it's like
(18:02):
she's these people, her and Jerry Jones, they have this
benefit of owning their own teamand being GM of like a video
game, like why not? Like why not be in the and that
and why this is what you're invested in?
Why not? And I mean, she's not
interfering in any way. She just gets a hero of the
waves and she's on the field. I think it's it's beautiful and
and as as women in the at the game like that lets you know,
(18:26):
like, yo, she's really invested. You know, I mean, I'm sure that
if we this is the first time seeing this, imagine if we would
have seen any given Sunday. That's what Cameron Diaz's
character would have done, right?
Right, right, but but that but. That would have been realistic
back then, but now she made it happen, Kwame.
I own a team. Yeah.
(18:46):
You know, I'm on that field. Of course I'm.
I'm listening too. Yeah.
I mean, I can't believe it's even a thing because like you
said, you own the team and you want to learn.
I mean, there's still I've been a die hard fan my whole life,
right, But like I still want to learn more and more and more.
I want to learn more about the coverages and what I'm seeing
and all these things and play action.
(19:08):
Let her learn and and let her know who to fire.
How about that? That's.
What I'm? Talking about I'd be I want to
know who who made that mistake and how many times does it
happen? And I'm not going to rely on
who's telling me. I'm going to know myself.
I think that's I I call it a flex too.
It's. A flex.
And she's going to inspire so many women, and she's going to,
(19:28):
I mean, I, I love it. And I posted about this two days
ago and the comments went crazy.Everybody wanted to say
something about it, men, women. So I, I was really happy to see
the engagement. And I'm, I'm and they're
undefeated, right? So call it what you want, but
Michael Manners, you're not, they're undefeated.
(19:49):
And, and so I'm excited to watchthat team go.
Let's talk about Week 4. The big, the big controversy.
Next is Michael Parsons is goingback to Dallas.
For a lot of you who may or may not know, we always like to talk
to the newbies. Michael Parsons was with the
(20:09):
Dallas Cowboys. I think he was the best player
on the team. And Jerry Jones ended up trading
into Green Bay, which is wild tome.
If you, if I'm going to trade you, you're not going to be
going to my rival in the NFC. You're going to be going to like
we traded some of our players. You're going to be going to the
AFC on a shitty team. But he sent him to Green Bay,
(20:29):
who was in all intents and purpose, a Super Bowl contender,
and then you gave him your best player.
What in the heli that we could have put that on?
What in the heli, Kwame? What do you think?
That's fucking nuts. Well.
I mean. Or is it not?
Or is it smart? I, I, I really feel like, you
know, people give Jerry Jones a hard time.
You get 2 number one draft pickslate.
Draft picks Late draft. Picks, late draft picks, But I
(20:50):
mean, you never know, You could always trade up.
You could always use those for your benefit.
And I mean, Michael Parsons is abeast, but I don't think he, you
know, is the best, best defensive player in our league.
I just don't get what I'm saying.
And I just I just feel that the feature would tell.
I mean, of course for Green Bay,oh, you winning, you win it.
(21:12):
You did your thing. But they.
Lost to the Browns, but go ahead.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's great.
That's why I love this game. You're like, wait, you just lost
to the Browns? Well.
You know, it, like I said, that's it's so competitive.
That's what's so beautiful aboutthis league.
It's so competitive. And that's why we say any given
Sunday, right? And that's why they play 17
games and that's why we'll neversee anybody ever go undefeated
again. There's so much competition,
(21:33):
though, I feel. Yeah, so much competition.
And I mean, that's what makes itfun, yeah.
Right, so you're on the Jerry Jones You you're OK with it?
I'm. Not really agreeing with Jerry
Jones, but what I'm saying is it's not that bad.
Like like I, I understand where Jerry is if he keeps on
rewarding these, you know, thesemarkets like what, you know,
paying DAC and paying everythinglike that, I mean, you're just
(21:54):
going to be out of money, right? You know, I mean Mike Parsons
can't be replaced, but you can get some top tier players you.
Know well we'll see like you said time will tell and Green
Bay I will be locked in on that game the Green Bay and be
obviously because I'm in the NFC.
So I want to see how that that goes down.
But you know we're also you havea big game against the Chiefs.
(22:18):
Yeah. Well, do you consider that a big
game or not? Is it like this right now?
Is it right? Is it like the Chiefs?
They don't even. I mean, what do you think?
I I really feel like they've lost it on offense with their
wide receivers and you know, I know, I know they have a lot of
regret for letting Tyree go. I know they have a lot of
regrets for giving D hop to us. Get what I'm saying?
(22:39):
So it's it's like it's all the better for us.
And when we win, it's all the glory.
OK, look at you by the way. D Hop Michelle, my girl does.
Todd Gurley and D Hop's here. Small world.
Isn't that wild? Isn't that wild?
I'm giving you the shout, girl. I got you by the way, when when
D hop was what I would say up for grabs.
(23:01):
I I tried to get a hold of the Niners.
I just want you to know and fucking my nobody answered but
had they answered we would not be in the situation we are in
today. I'm just saying.
I love you Niner, but like, yeah, this.
But I wanted him because I I knew he wasn't done.
He's a. BC and and and he's just
(23:22):
consistent. He reminds me of when we had
Akron Bolden at the time, like just somebody who can just
catch, you know, a possession receiver and he's got a couple
touchdown for us already and I just imagine the the mentorship
that he's giving Zay flowers right now.
Like I said, we just getting started you.
Believe. I mean, you kind of got the grin
(23:43):
like you're not sure. No, no.
No, I'm trying to tell you yo this yo-yo, I'm just trying to
tell you it's a 17 game season for a reason, you know, and, and
as long as we stay healthy, we're learning right now.
Do you remember, since you're a Raven and I'm a diehard, do you
remember that Super Bowl? That horrible Super Bowl.
Ohh the you mean where, where, when you?
When you all cheating? No, no.
(24:04):
When y'all the lights. Went out say.
Perform 2 fucking hours. Y'all put the lights out?
Yeah, yeah. That's.
So wrong and you did it to your own brother.
Like what the hell, hey? Man, hey, that's.
So wrong. It worked out for us, you know,
it worked out for us, you know, and that was, that's crazy
because we met in New Orleans and that was the last time the
Super Bowl was in New Orleans and.
(24:24):
We we forgot. I was like wait how do we have
his number? This is so weird.
We forgot. Small world that.
Was a. Yeah, that was a.
Great Super Bowl and what was crazy is that, you know, the
Chiefs had an opportunity to have some fans pull up, but they
didn't like it. There was 90% Eagle fans out
there. That was crazy it.
Was out of control. Let's talk about the Eagles.
Where do you think they're? I mean, well, give me your
(24:46):
prediction for. For really.
And I know, yeah. I think it's going to probably
be most likely either the Rams or the Eagles on the NFC side
and of course the Ravens. Did you just?
Say Rams in front of me. I'm here.
Hey, that's. Going to be a big game Thursday
night. Let's talk about that.
Rams Niners in Sofi by the way, do we not have a hookup?
(25:12):
We should have a hookup for this.
Week we got to be on the. Field.
How do we make this happen? We need the plug.
Yeah, we. Need the plug?
Tell me, what are you? What are your predictions on
that big NFC West game? Well, you know, like I said,
every summer I've been able to, you know, do some corresponding
with the Rams camp. And this year, just like I said,
flawless, I got AI got a chance to speak to Sean Mcvay's father.
(25:37):
We spoke for like 1/2 hour just telling me, you know, how he was
as a child. He was always, you know, zoomed
in and like bugged out about everything, you know, and really
like passionate about the sport. And one thing I notice is they
don't drop the ball like everything's In Sync.
They play a lot of trap music during practice.
Do they they they have fun, goodtimes and just all athletes and
(26:00):
everybody just having a good time and it's, you know,
straight to business. And it doesn't surprise me the
success that they're having now. You're 49ers, you got you kind
of banged up. You got kinda purdy's hurt.
Still, we're in the. ER, yeah, yeah, like.
Yeah. Life.
Support right now, man, and so Imean, you know, it's always
looking to the Rams favor, but that's probably one of my NFC
(26:23):
picks. So a lot of people don't know.
OK, I'll I'll take that. It's always a grind it whenever
we play. So there it's a playoff vibe.
It is just one of those divisional rivalries.
What a lot of people don't know that I actually have Rams ties.
My grandparents, who I love morethan anything in the world, by
the way, they were madly in lovetheir entire from like 14 to
(26:44):
when they passed at like 98 years old.
They were had this beautiful love story.
They were die hard Ram fans, OK,die hard.
They had 50 yard line season tickets and their house was full
of Rams everything. So a lot of people don't know,
but I have this little thing forthe Rams because of my
grandparents. I have still, I have their
(27:07):
jerseys and some of their jackets that they that they
wore. And my grandma would give up her
ticket when the Niners came to town and I would go with my
grandpa. So the if if my Ram, if my
Niners don't get where they needto be out, I will always back
the Rams up and I'm going to geta lot of hate but y'all don't
know me so it's all good. But yeah, sounds like a good.
(27:28):
Idea I love. The Rams, the stadium so far is
insane and I think Thursday night is going to be is going to
be one for the books. I really did think that.
There we go. So let's talk about we, we got
your Super Bowl. Tell me about where you're doing
now. Where can people find you?
(27:49):
What do you got coming up and all the good things and.
Well, right now I got a celebrity interview show right
now, as I am new celebrity athletes.
I've been so blessed that everyone that I've had on my
show so far has either been in the Hall of Fame, won a
championship or both, you know, and that's very, I'm very proud
(28:10):
of that. And it's just like I said, I
love interviewing icons and legends and you learn so much.
And I'm, you know, working with the NFL wives.
We did some charity work together.
I work with the NFLPAI get to talk to the rookies every year
and that and I just, you know, love instilling, you know, in
(28:32):
the youth, in the, in the, in these guys, just what I've
learned through life. I tell him like, listen man, you
know you don't have to propose right now, but you feel sure you
can point it out and say this isthe one you didn't.
Get to Travis Hunter, though. What, where, what have you?
You saw what Travis was doing. You saw him out there with the
bodyguard. Oh.
My goodness about. That I mean, Travis is, you
(28:52):
know, he's young and he's in love and let him do his thing.
Yeah. You know, we all have to live
and learn. You know, everybody don't have
that iceberg slim mentality. You know, they don't, they
don't. But it's it's it's it's, you
know, sometimes with these athletes, they're so passionate
about their sport. Sometimes they have to learn
things in life that we take for granted, you know, being
(29:15):
well-rounded and whatnot. But I wish them the best.
And, you know, I think this gives this girl an opportunity
to show her true love for him, right?
You know, because a lot is riding on it right now, 100.
Percent, 100%. And that is so amazing.
Congratulations. I love that, you know, you're
able to learn so much from all of these athletes with like
(29:35):
incredible careers. Is there anything that you can
remember even I see always on the red carpet, like is there
anything that sticks out in yourmind that where someone asked
you or told you something that you had that threw you off?
You're just like, wow, I did notknow that or something.
You know that you just never forget.
(29:56):
I know one time when I first metDave Justice, I, I think it was
on my side, 'cause I'm really obnoxious sometimes.
But I met Dave Justice and his wife, and, you know, his
daughter's a fabulous actress. And right there I was just
comfortable enough to ask Dave Justice.
Like, so this is the woman that you drop Hilly Berry for right
(30:16):
here. Like he said, damn right,
motherfucker. Right.
Like he's really. Passionate and we still friends
and we're going to have him on the show T and it's just like I
I I just I I just think being authentically yourself.
It sounds so cliche, but being yourself, you know, I love
working with the NFL gospel. I know Jared verse from the Rams
and his mother. They're really good people and
(30:38):
just just just, you know, NFL ties to everything.
I remember I had an opportunity to go to my first Super Bowl
when there was in Phoenix a couple years ago and I was like,
I had like 8 shows in a row withthe with the Laugh Factory, like
book pop pop, pop pop pop pop. And I was so brainwashed at the
time as a comedian you just like, oh wow, I can't let the
(31:00):
Laugh Factory down. And, and it's like, but yo,
there's no bigger stage than theNFL.
So I mean, that's the same. For the people in the back,
there's no. Biggest stage than the NFL and
so if you have an opportunity how we were on media role like
that right there is just official.
It's just a blessing. And you, I mean, what you see
Dan Marino and Joe Montana and you know, Donovan McNabb,
(31:23):
everybody's there right there. All these resources are here and
with our peers and we just get to learn.
You can't beat that one. 100% and I love that my, my world of
music, my 2 passions are coming together, right?
Music and football and now comedy as well, right?
And it's just yeah, it's amazing.
(31:44):
And you know, even you follow us, right?
I try to bring the music, I try to bring the vibe, you know,
for, for the ladies especially. But we got thousands and
thousands of men followers like yourself.
By the way, we are getting readyto do a football sexy night at
the comedy Penny. He's helping us out at the ice
(32:05):
house. How I'm I'm locking you in right
now. I'm ready.
Are you ready? It's going to be this is a
unveiled January the 30th. Tickets are not on sale yet.
But no, we got to do it right before the Super Bowl is going
to happen and I got to make surewe have you on.
Definitely I'll OK. See that painting we got?
We got one comedian. Let's go.
We. Up, we up.
Yeah, I'm. Trying to get our Arsenio and
(32:28):
we'll get Angela and call it a day, the three of you.
I'm good. Let's go.
Angela Johnson, yeah. 'Cause she's a Raider fan.
I love Angela. Can we get?
Her. I love Angela, yeah.
Oh which? Brings me before I let you go.
We do. Our last segment is called Who's
got next? And that means you get to tag
somebody who you think should besitting in this chair.
(32:48):
OK with me. At some point this season, who
would you? Who would you say would be great
to have on? And then we're gonna go out and
try and get him some? No pressure.
I'm just saying well. It shouldn't be too far.
Probably Nick Hamilton, OK. He's a friend of mine.
He's actually a correspondent for Spectrum and a lot of other
outlets, like he's the Stuart Scott of our time.
(33:12):
I'll make sure that you get the interview.
I just say, I say that because he's like probably 1 of the only
journalists I've met on the scene because I'm the only
comedian, of course, but he actually knows what he's doing.
I was very surprised that, you know, being in these spaces,
these journalists, sometimes they don't.
They're not really football fanatics like me.
(33:32):
And you like, you know, I used to think that they would always
hire previous former players because, you know, of their
fame. But it's actually because of
their knowledge because a lot ofthese journalists, they really
don't know. Like they can't even have a
common basic conversation about football and with chat GBTI
don't know how much longer they're going to last right?
(33:54):
But but yeah. So it's like, yeah, I think Nick
is a good guy for you to have onhere and I think I see big
things in the future. I.
Love it. I love it.
And I lied because I'm going to ask you one more thing because
I'm looking at this bling and I just, I have it on my card.
I was like, ask him who's the best dressed in the NFL?
Oh man, it's that's hard to say.I like, I like my man from the
(34:16):
Browns. What's his name?
He's from Ghana. I.
Forget his name, but I know you're talking about.
Dress because he always tears itup.
Derrick Henry is a great dresser.
He's always taking his style to the next level.
What? About Mike McDaniel and his shoe
game. And my guy, Joe Burrow, Joe
Burrow Joe. Burrow, Really.
You like Joe? OK.
(34:36):
Joe, I text Joe from time to time.
He just looks at his phone. But yeah, we go.
We go back. Oh.
My God, I love it. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, Joe can dress OK. All right.
We're going to give it to Joe, man.
Thank you so much. I appreciate you.
I feel like we're going to be doing some more stuff.
We got to. Work together I just.
Get that? I'm manifesting it.
I'm manifesting it. There you go.
All right, let's go. Thank you, Kwame.
(34:57):
Everybody follow Kwame. Single.
See. Yeah, yeah, single.
Man. Siegel.
Yeah, hit me up on the gram. You can see me this side at your
girls crib. I heard her roommates out of
town, so we're going to be extraloud.
Hit me with a grandma KWAB dot Si.e.
D You know, you know I'm. Saying, and you were never gonna
see me wearing this shit on my podcast again, but I wanna make
sure I match. I knew you were gonna come live.
(35:18):
You were gonna come lit. Let's go.
Football is sexy.
