Speaker 0 (00:00):
Hello and welcome
back to the Forbidden Knowledge
Podcast.
My name is Nathaniel Hoitmacherand I am the show's host.
Today I'm making the formalannouncement of Season 2.
Season 2 will be releasedsometime in October.
The definitive date has notbeen set yet.
It will be during sometime inthe middle of October, though
(00:22):
the second or third week, morelikely than not.
This new season will be deepdiving into one particular
tradition.
In order to make it so that waywe continue onward with the
initiate's journey, we hadlooked into the various
different things that needed tobe done before you were even
(00:46):
initiated into the mysteries andinitiated on to the further
aspects that had gone on to forsomeone who had been part of any
of these ancient traditions.
Now we will be deep diving, specifically Arthurian myth,
legend and romance.
The reason for this is becauseit is a passion project that I
(01:07):
would like to take on that Ihave never fully deep dived, so
what will happen here is that Iwill personally be taking the
journey with you in almost realtime for anybody who goes along
with this at the same time thatI'm posting these podcasts, and
what this means is that, unlike, say, other traditions that I
(01:29):
could teach you about, I will behaving to sort things out for
myself, I will have to belearning about it myself, I will
have to be deep diving itmyself.
You will get to see how someonewho is already well-versed in
various different traditionsgoes about trying to understand
and explore a new concept, a newtradition, one that they've
(01:52):
never deep-dived in any way, shape or form.
Yes, of course I know certainthings about Arthurian myth and
legend.
I'm sure most of you do as well.
I know about the round table, Iknow about the knights, I know
about King Arthur pulling thesword from the stone, and I know
about Lancelot and Parzival andGalahad and all these other
(02:13):
things that are there with itthat we've all heard of, and the
grail.
Of course, these are thingsthat anybody and everybody knows
something about.
That's why I am choosing thisparticular tradition to look at.
Rather than making it so thatway, I choose one that is say,
of Nordic tradition or of Celtictradition, or of Egyptian or
(02:36):
Sumerian or whatever.
This is a story that the vastmajority of the people in
Western civilization, andprobably the world for that
matter, have some inkling ofwhat it is and what it's about.
In other words, it's kind oflike a legend or mythology that
is coined to be more universaland is there for everyone rather
(03:00):
than for one particular groupof people, or time period and
whatnot, rather than for oneparticular group of people or
time period and whatnot.
And it is my pleasure to saythat I am really excited to go
and do this particular journeyand whatnot, and that I, other
than having read maybe one ofthe stories that will be
(03:20):
finished by the time period thatwe start this, in that I will
not be having any leg up onanybody else.
For what it is, I will be doingit in real time with everybody.
I've already begun to purchasevarious different materials that
I will need in order to helpdeep dive these things with it,
(03:41):
and I will continue to do sowherever the journey takes us.
In this particular instance, Ihave no idea where it'll take us
.
I don't know how long it'll takeme to dissect things, but we
are going to be doing so onmultiple levels.
One of the levels that's goingto be done with it is, of course
, the historical level.
We're going to look at thedifferent histories of the time
period and the histories of thepeople that wrote the stories
(04:05):
and whatnot, and going into them.
We will also be looking intothe symbolic nature of the
stories and we will be lookingto learn esoteric wisdom that's
inside of it, that have beencontained inside of it and to
teach us that.
We'll also be looking into anymorals and teachings that it has
on a spiritual level as well.
(04:27):
On this particular front, wewill continue to look at things
in the historical record, to putthings into their context so we
can better understand thestories as well.
I already know that certainthings that are there, some of
which are going to be obvious, but I'm going to be briefly
going into them here.
I will not be going intoeverything that I see, because I
want some of that to be dealtwith as it pops up in the
(04:49):
stories.
So one of the things that isobvious is that we will need to
look into the Christiantradition.
We will need to look into, youknow, the Holy Grail.
We will need to look intoknights and chivalry and whatnot
and how they came about.
We will need to be looking intothe Crusades, because that was
a time period that this was alltaking place and has huge impact
on some of the stories that aregoing on with it.
(05:10):
We will need to be looking intoGaelic mythology, I guess we
can say, because it's not justWelsh.
Although Welsh is the main partof it, there's also stuff and
Irish stuff with it as well, andso we will need to be looking
to that in order to understandthings there.
We need to look into that inorder to understand things there
.
We will need to be looking intovarious different things from
(05:30):
the Mediterranean areas in orderto help back this up, including
Islam and, to a certain extent,to help with some of these
things because of the Crusadesand how that played a role, and
we will need to be looking intothe Knights Templar and
(05:52):
Christianity as a whole, ofcourse.
So with that, we will betackling various different
traditions and their influenceon the tradition that we know of
as Arthurian myth and legend, and we will be making it so.
That way we will come out moreenlightened about these stories
and hopefully also teaching usabout ourselves along the way,
and making it so.
That way we have a betterunderstanding of our history
(06:12):
that has occurred for thesetraditions and everything that
goes along with that, whichwould be part of the initiates
journey for whatever specificschool of thought that they were
a part of and that they hadgone through, and so this is the
game plan for things.
If you are someone from seasonone who no longer wishes to
(06:34):
continue on this particularjourney because that's not
something that they'reinterested in doing, I thank you
for your time.
If you are new and coming intoseason two, as it'll be coming
out, and I suggest that you goin and listen to season one,
it'll help with certainunderstandings of where I'm
taking things and where I'mgoing.
Either way, thank you all somuch for your time and I look
(06:56):
forward on taking this journeywith you together.
