On this session, we welcome back Jise One, one of the founding members of the influential New York hip hop group, The Arsonists, that emerged from the independent hip hop scene of Brooklyn in the 1990s. I am fortunate to spend some time with him to speak about his personal project, “The Passion of Jise” that he released in 2015. As a lyricist, his sharp, introspective bars and dynamic stage presence helped define The Arsonists' signature sound, blending gritty boom-bap with socially conscious storytelling.
