The end of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Last Ronin arrived, but did it deliver on its promise? And is this a good future for the Turtles? Fortress of Solitude’s Sergio Pereira discusses the TMNT The Last Ronin series, and how it’s a pivotal point for the Ninja Turtles franchise. Created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird back in the ’80s, this story follows Michelangelo - the last ronin - who seeks revenge for his family. Undoubtedly, it’s inspired by Old Man Logan and The Dark Knight Returns as it sets up the last stand for the Ninja Turtle as he faces off against Shredder’s grandson, Oroku Hiroto.
