Speaker 2 (01:17):
Peace world, and welcome everybody to a special conversation for
the Sports or. My name is Adam Bernard. Thank you
so much for joining me again today. My guest is
set to appear at MLW Fight Land this weekend in
her match against Alejandra Kintonia Shazzi Blackheart.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Thank you so much for joining me. How are you today,
I'm good?
Speaker 4 (01:34):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (01:35):
I am great?
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Thank you so much for time. I really appreciate it
very much. Looking forward to this conversation as well, So
thank you for your time. Let's talk about the lead
up to your first appearance at MLW. I you have
the release from WWE, which you've spoken about at length,
so we're gonna skip past that. But I want to
know what are your thoughts heading out into the entrance
into the ring? What was going through your mind during
your initial appearance at MLW.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
Oh, yeah, you know, MLW has always been a place
that I wanted to work at, you know, even before
getting signed, Like MLW has always been a top dog
in wrestling, and.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
That my debut was.
Speaker 6 (02:16):
A little mixed because.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
I was so excited to finally be at MLW and
I had just broken.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
My arm, like not even not even a week before
my debut.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
It was like, I think I broke my arm like
that Saturday, and then MLW was like the Thursday after,
So this was like my first this is my first
match after breaking my arm, and I was like, can
I even do this? I don't even know how I'm
gonna make this work. But fortunately MLW let me get
(02:53):
in there and try, and I thought, like I put
together like a pretty awesome match for having a broken arm.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
You know, so fresh too.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
I can imagine it's probably difficult to navigate. Was there
ever a moment where you're just like, oh shit, this
is this could potentially get way worse than this, or like,
I guess you know you've been doing it long enough
you could probably navigate around that, right. Was there was
there any difficulty in that in that whole position?
Speaker 5 (03:17):
Oh yeah, extremely difficult. And I was still I was
still in a lot of pain because, like I said,
I I had broken my arm like five days before
that match, and and it was like it's like really broken,
like snapped in half clean break, thankfully, but like it
wasn't like a stress fracture.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
It was like a full on fractured arm. So I
was still in.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
A lot of pain, Like I couldn't even put on
my gear, Like I had to ask the girls to
help me put on my gear and like help me
do my hair and stuff.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
So yeah, it was very stressful, but I made it work.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
And yeah, I'm I'm really just proud of myself for
getting through that and like winning.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Yeah, yes, yes, absolutely with a broken arm, It's it's
definitely a good win. I'm gladed, Like I said, didn't
get worse. I don't know if I could have done that.
So more all the more power to you. But h
MLW feels like this really incredible place for you to
explore and expand this creative force that you have, which
I think we only really ever got like kind of
taste for here and there in WWA. What has the
(04:19):
experience been like from a creative standpoint for you, having
you know, really this maximized freedom to explore your character.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
Yeah, what has been so great when EMLW is actually
one of the first places to hit me up and
book me after getting released, and they were very much
on board with like, you know, me coming in and
having you know, creative freedom and being able.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
To do me. So I feel like I don't know.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
It just feels really good that such a really awesome
company believes in me and wants me to come in
and like revamp their women's vision and you know, have
you know, just some say and like what I want
to do and let me get a little crazy and
have some freedom with myself.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
It's amazing, you know.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
And I spoke to Bishop dire front of the show
friend of mine as well, you spoke about one of
the things he loved so much was the atmosphere backstage,
you know, not just with the you know, everybody that's
working there.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
But also the leadership as well.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
How's that experience been like for you backstage with MLW.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
Oh, I mean they want they run a really tight ship,
like it was like being at TV, Like they just
really run a tight ship. Like they have multiple people
working on different things and it's just like so organized
and and the locker room is really awesome. Like we
just have like you know, the tippy top of dogs
(05:48):
back there. I mean, like MJF showed up when my
first time being there, Like it's just it's just awesome,
a really fun locker room.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
You know, they really run a tight ship.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Now this match with Alejandra coming up feels like, in
some ways a crossroads for both of you as newcomers
at this stage together in MLW. What are your thoughts
about facing Alejandra at this weekend's Fightland.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
Yeah, you know, I'm really excited because, Okay, one, this
is like my first weekend wrestling where I'm not going
to have a cast I'm fully killed up.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
I am.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
So like it'll be interesting to get in there and
be one hundred percent. So I'm ready to like show off,
Like I want to like take Alejandra to her limits
because I have been like waiting to rip this cast
off and I finally get to do that with her
at MLW.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
So I'm I'm hungry. I'm ready to get it done.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Love it. I love it now.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Are there any ideas, obviously maybe from a creative standpoint
that we talked about, that you want to see in
MLW after Fightland, anything particularly you're looking to bring here?
Speaker 4 (06:59):
I talk, well, you know, I want gold.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
Like my eyes are on show go, so I will
be watching Choko and Yuki's match heavily.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
I will be eyeballing them down. So yeah, we'll see.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
I'm hopeful that if I get the win on Alejandra
that showco will be the next step because I want
that MLW gold Like I think that'll be like the
huge test for me and just like solidifying like my
spot after WW holding something as prestigious as an MLW title.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
I can absolutely see you being the face of the
MLW women's division. So I'm wishing you the best of
luck this weekend.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
I want to ask.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
You obviously, I know you know recently there's been talk
about Killer Cross and Scarlet being back in the mix.
I know you had a pretty incredible moment there at GCW.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Can we see.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Potentially a Killer Cross and Scarlet appearance at this upcoming
MLW fight this weekend or do you think do you
think there's a little bit more than works before that happens.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
That met MLBU.
Speaker 7 (08:05):
I don't know that it would happen this quickly, but
I would love for them to be there with me.
I mean, like they're my besties, so like selfishly, I
just want them at every show that I'm at. Ye,
but I think the Ross would do really awesome at MLW.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yeah, he was one of my favorite parts originally watching him,
you know, coming up before he went to WWE. I
loved watching him in MLW and I'm very excited to
see what he's gonna come up with next.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
I would also be remiss. I know it's you know,
it's Halloween season.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
We're getting at the spooky season, which I believe, if
my calendar serves me correct, starts on August first, which
everyone knows.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
But I get, I understand, I'm hit with it, right.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
I wanted to ask you to about, you know, Bray
Wyatt and the horrors of the Wyat six attraction. I
wonder to know, if he had a chance to go
down there and walk through it, what were your thoughts
and what do you think one thing that you would
want to see represented in this haunted attraction.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
So I was actually there the very first day. Yeah,
I was at the first night of Halloween.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
Harror.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Knight's one of the first people to hop in there,
one of the first people to see all the houses.
And it is probably my favorite house. And this year
is a really really good year. And I'm not just
saying that just because of like you know, bias, because
like my friends are in there, but they really did
the Wyatt six justice and they really put on like
(09:29):
such a good memorial for Bray and it was. It
was pretty emotional walking through that house, to be honest,
like he would have loved it.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
He really would have loved it. I I really wish
that he could have seen it.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
I'm curious too.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
It's a Friday night in October, the fire's going, you're
getting set up. Sure it's a Halloween timeline, right, what's
Shatzi Blackheart's horror film of choice?
Speaker 5 (09:56):
Ooh, okay, well, okay. My favorite, my favorite horror of
all time is The Thing. Kurt Russell is Daddy. John
Carpenter is one of my favorite horror directors, so that
is always like a go to. But Halloween season, my
favorite movie is Pumpkinhead, Like I always start the season
(10:18):
with that one. Like, Pumpkinhead is one of my favorite movies,
and it's just so Halloween, Like you got this pumpkin
monster and you got like the witchiest of witches in there.
Like it's a good story. It's you know, that eighties
campy gore.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
I love it. It's just like perfection to me.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
I'll have to check it out. I never watch it.
I'm still trying to get through it. I mean honestly,
like I watch pet cemetery as a kid, and I
just I don't know if that necessarily counts in his
movie with Stephen King, and it freaks me the hell out.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
But it's the little yeah with the I just never
I can't, I can't do it, but I'll definitely get it.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
I'll definitely put it on my list. Any final words
for Alexandra ahead of your match this weekend? Like I said,
September thirteenth, get your tickets now and they're still available.
Any final words ahead of this match in this weekend?
And what do you want to prove as potentially the
new face of the MLW Women's division, Alejandra.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
She is my statement maker. I'm coming into that match
one hundred percent and she is going to be an
example of what I am going to do to show
go and what I'm going to do to become the
MLW Women's champion.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
I'm very excited to watch this.
Speaker 2 (11:29):

You gotta check it out.
Speaker 6 (11:53):
