Adam Kinzinger suffered severe backlash from friends and family for standing up to Trump while in Congress, but he tells our listeners the most bothersome part was that so many of his Republican colleagues refused to do the same. “This isn't some disagreement on tax Policy where we all can have a different view and compromise a little bit,” he said. “This is existential to whether or not democracy can survive.”
In this interview, we’ll take you inside the halls of Congress on January 6 to get a glimpse of Adam’s experiences that day. “January six was a terrible day, a symptom of what happens when you convince a significant amount of the country an election was stolen,” he said. “I told my staff to stay home. I asked my wife to stay home. I take my gun for the first time. I felt just a darkness that I've never felt in my life.”
