Back from hiatus Lui and Des take an episode to sum and reflect on the past season and give some hints on what to expect this coming season on Fresh Ink

The Fresh Inkers conclude the season with the first of a pair of reading by Lui and Des.  First up is the gothic short story The Beautiful Dead Man written and read by Lui Campos

The Fresh Inkers, Lui & Des, interview Kayla Min Andrews, the force responsible for bringing the final novel of her mother, Katherine Min, to publication.  Kayla tells the Fresh Inkers on how writing has, was, and is an important aspect of her life --- even when she didn't know it.  Later Kayla reads the first chapter of her mother Katherine's posthumously published novel The Fetishist

Des & Lui interview Mary Flint author of the Hunter Trial series.  The Fresh Inkers get a history of Mary's journey from Anchorage, Alaska to Corpus Christi, Texas and how that along with her musical background helps with her writing

Des reads past guest Caitlyn Bender's short story Love in the Time of Aliens

Lui & Des host Stephen Rea, reader, writer, teacher and the best looking Irishman around New Orleans.  Tune in as Stephen discusses finding comradery and soccer in Finn McCool's, a local Irish pub in the City That Cares Forgot.  Also Stephen expands on his career as a reporter and a teacher and the three writing tibits that will help a writer go far in the art of creation.

The initial episode of Fresh Ink Theater kicks off with John Biguenet reading his One Story Press published short story: The Third Birdhouse. After which John, Lui, and Des discuss the story and bits on its creation process and inspiration.

Lui & Des each give a Halloween reading to celebrate Halloween and give listeners a taste of a new aspect of Fresh Ink: Fresh Ink Theater which will be coming to Thursday on a podcast near you.

Lui & Des interview Baton Rouge by way of Minnesota writer Laura K. Riley (also known as Emily Cogburn)  Ms. Riley gives the duo a refreshing take on how her life experiences shape the core story of her characters and gives a reading from her novel Sweet Camilia Island

Lui & Des interview John Biguenet, Distinguished University Professor Emeritus, Loyola University, New Orleans.  This award-winning author and playwright gives our Fresh Ink duo and audience the details on his writing and teaching journey as well as tidbits on the riddle of writing and what it takes to excel at mastering its discipline.  And a lil bit of history of New Orleans sprinkled in. 

Lui & Des interview award winning New Orleans author Bill Loehfelm who describes how his love of writing and love of a city led this native of the Big Apple to the Big Easy.  Also Mr. Loehfelm reads the chapter that send readers accompanying his most famous character: the fiery, reckless and at times naive Maureen Coughlin.  Plus the Fresh Inkers announce a new venture for Fresh Ink 

Lui & Des interview Baton Rouge writer Caitlyn Bender who offers the duo insight in writer's group and their workings as well as gracing our listeners with a reading of a short story excerpt and a piece of flash fiction
