This episode: When I was 7 years old, my family emigrated from a remote farming village in Kashmir, Pakistan to Manchester, UK. it was a brand-new, almost alien, culture for me. It was the first kind of moment where I became self-aware in terms of coming to a new country, learning a new language, making new friends from nothing, and not actually being able to speak the language. For several years I was in a shell shock state trying to cope with this change. When I was between 14-17years old, my father was made redundant in his profession. What I saw was a very healthy man in his mid-40s within a couple of years, be not even 10% of the person that he used to be. I made a vow that whatever I do in life I will never ever give up. Whatever happens to me, I will not put myself in that position where I just give up and this drives me to this day to be resilient.
